Matouš 5
1 Vida pak Ježíš zástupy, vstoupil na horu; a když se posadil, přistoupili k němu učedlníci jeho.
And having seen the multitudes, He went up to the mountain, and He having sat down, His disciples came to Him,
2 I otevřev ústa svá, učil je, řka:
and having opened His mouth, He was teaching them, saying,
3 Blahoslavení chudí duchem, nebo jejich jest království nebeské.
“Blessed the poor in spirit—because theirs is the kingdom of the heavens.
4 Blahoslavení lkající, nebo oni potěšeni budou.
Blessed the mourning—because they will be comforted.
5 Blahoslavení tiší, nebo oni dědictví obdrží na zemi.
Blessed the meek—because they will inherit the land.
6 Blahoslavení, kteříž lačnějí a žíznějí spravedlnosti, nebo oni nasyceni budou.
Blessed those hungering and thirsting for righteousness—because they will be filled.
7 Blahoslavení milosrdní, nebo oni milosrdenství důjdou.
Blessed the kind—because they will find kindness.
8 Blahoslavení čistého srdce, nebo oni Boha viděti budou.
Blessed the clean in heart—because they will see God.
9 Blahoslavení pokojní, nebo oni synové Boží slouti budou.
Blessed the peacemakers—because they will be called sons of God.
10 Blahoslavení, kteříž protivenství trpí pro spravedlnost, nebo jejich jest království nebeské.
Blessed those persecuted for righteousness’ sake—because theirs is the kingdom of the heavens.
11 Blahoslavení budete, když vám zlořečiti budou a protivenství činiti, a mluviti všecko zlé o vás, lhouce, pro mne.
Blessed are you whenever they may reproach you, and may persecute, and may say any evil thing against you falsely for My sake—
12 Radujte se a veselte se, nebo odplata vaše hojná jest v nebesích. Takť zajisté protivili se prorokům, kteříž byli před vámi.
rejoice and be glad, because your reward [is] great in the heavens, for thus they persecuted the prophets who were before you.
13 Vy jste sůl země. Jestliže sůl zmařena bude, čím bude osolena? K ničemuž se nehodí více, než aby byla ven vyvržena a od lidí pošlapána.
You are the salt of the earth, but if the salt may lose savor, in what will it be salted? It is good for nothing from now on, except to be cast outside, and to be trodden down by men.
14 Vy jste světlo světa. Nemůžeť město na hoře ležící skryto býti.
You are the light of the world, a city set on a mountain is not able to be hid;
15 Aniž rozsvěcují svíce a stavějí ji pod kbelec, ale na svícen; i svítí všechněm, kteříž jsou v domě.
nor do they light a lamp and put it under the measure, but on the lampstand, and it shines to all those in the house;
16 Tak svěť světlo vaše před lidmi, ať vidí skutky vaše dobré, a slaví Otce vašeho, kterýž jest v nebesích.
so let your light shine before men, that they may see your good works, and may glorify your Father who [is] in the heavens.
17 Nedomnívejte se, že bych přišel rušiti zákona aneb proroků. Nepřišelť jsem rušiti, ale naplniti.
Do not suppose that I came to throw down the Law or the Prophets—I did not come to throw down, but to fulfill;
18 Amen zajisté pravím vám: Dokudž nepomine nebe i země, jediná literka aneb jeden puňktík nepomine z zákona, až se všecky věci stanou.
for truly I say to you, until the heaven and the earth may pass away, one iota or one tittle may not pass away from the Law, until all may come to pass.
19 Protož zrušil-li by kdo jedno z přikázaní těchto nejmenších, a učil by tak lidi, nejmenší slouti bude v království nebeském. Kdož by pak koli činil i učil, ten veliký slouti bude v království nebeském.
Therefore whoever may loose one of these commands—the least—and may teach men so, he will be called least in the kingdom of the heavens, but whoever may do and may teach [them], he will be called great in the kingdom of the heavens.
20 Nebo pravím vám: Nebude-liť hojnější spravedlivost vaše nežli zákonníků a farizeů, nikoli nevejdete do království nebeského.
For I say to you that if your righteousness may not abound above that of the scribes and Pharisees, you may not enter into the kingdom of the heavens.
21 Slyšeli jste, že říkáno jest starým: Nezabiješ. Pakli by kdo zabil, povinen trpěti soud.
You heard that it was said to the ancients: You will not murder, and whoever may murder will be in danger of the judgment;
22 Ale jáť pravím vám: Že každý, kdož se hněvá na bratra svého bez příčiny, musí trpěti soud. Kdož by pak řekl bratru svému: Rácha, povinen bude před radou státi; a kdož by řekl: Blázne, musí pekelný oheň trpěti. (Geenna g1067)
but I say to you that everyone who is angry at his brother without cause will be in danger of the judgment, and whoever may say to his brother, Stupid, will be in danger of the Sanhedrin, and whoever may say, Moron, will be in danger of the Gehenna of fire. (Geenna g1067)
23 Protož obětoval-li bys dar svůj na oltář, a tu bys se rozpomenul, že bratr tvůj má něco proti tobě:
If, therefore, you may bring your gift to the altar, and there may remember that your brother has anything against you,
24 Nechejž tu daru svého před oltářem a odejdi; prvé smiř se s bratrem svým, a potom přijda, obětuj dar svůj.
leave there your gift before the altar, and go—first be reconciled to your brother, and then having come, bring your gift.
25 Vejdi v dobrou vůli s protivníkem svým rychle, dokudž jsi s ním na cestě, aťby snad nedal tebe protivník tvůj soudci, a soudce dal by tě služebníku, a byl bys uvržen do žaláře.
Be agreeing with your opponent quickly, while you are in the way with him, that the opponent may not deliver you to the judge, and the judge may deliver you to the officer, and you may be cast into prison;
26 Amen pravím tobě: Nevyjdeš odtud, dokudž i posledního haléře nenavrátíš.
truly I say to you, you may not come forth from there until you may pay the last penny.
27 Slyšeli jste, že říkáno bylo starým: Nezcizoložíš.
You heard that it was said to the ancients: You will not commit adultery;
28 Ale jáť pravím vám: Že každý, kdož by pohleděl na ženu ku požádání jí, již zcizoložil s ní v srdci svém.
but I say to you that everyone who is looking on a woman to desire her, already committed adultery with her in his heart.
29 Jestliže pak oko tvé pravé horší tě, vylup je a vrz od sebe; neboť jest užitečněji tobě, aby zahynul jeden oud tvůj, než by celé tělo tvé uvrženo bylo do ohně pekelného. (Geenna g1067)
But if your right eye causes you to stumble, pluck it out and cast from you, for it is good to you that one of your members may perish, and not your whole body be cast into Gehenna. (Geenna g1067)
30 A pakli ruka tvá pravá horší tě, utni ji a vrz od sebe; nebo užitečněji jest tobě, aby zahynul jeden oud tvůj, než by všecko tělo tvé uvrženo bylo do pekelného ohně. (Geenna g1067)

31 Též řečeno jest: Kdož by koli propustil manželku svou, aby jí dal lístek rozloučení.
And it was said that, Whoever may put away his wife, let him give to her a writing of divorce;
32 Jáť pak pravím vám: Že kdožkoli propustil by manželku svou, kromě příčiny cizoložstva, uvodí ji v cizoložstvo, a kdož propuštěnou pojme, cizoloží.
but I say to you that whoever may put away his wife, except for the matter of whoredom, makes her to commit adultery; and whoever may marry her who has been put away commits adultery.
33 Opět slyšeli jste, že říkáno bylo starým: Nebudeš křivě přisahati, ale splníš Pánu přísahy své.
Again, you heard that it was said to the ancients: You will not swear falsely, but you will pay to the LORD your oaths;
34 Ale jáť pravím vám: Abyste nepřisahali všelijak, ani skrze nebe, nebo trůn Boží jest;
but I say to you not to swear at all; neither by Heaven, because it is the throne of God,
35 Ani skrze zemi, nebo podnož jeho jest; ani skrze Jeruzalém, nebo město velikého toho Krále jest.
nor by the earth, because it is His footstool, nor by Jerusalem, because it is [the] city of [the] great King,
36 Ani skrze hlavu svou budeš přisahati, nebo nemůžeš jednoho vlasu učiniti bílého aneb černého.
nor may you swear by your head, because you are not able to make one hair white or black;
37 Ale buď řeč vaše: Jistě, jistě; nikoli, nikoli. Což pak nad to více jest, to od zlého jest.
but let your word be, Yes, Yes, No, No, and that which is more than these is of the evil [one].
38 Slyšeli jste, že říkáno bylo: Oko za oko, a zub za zub.
You heard that it was said: Eye for eye, and tooth for tooth;
39 Jáť pak pravím vám: Abyste neodpírali zlému. Ale udeří-li tě kdo v pravé líce tvé, nasaď jemu i druhého.
but I say to you not to resist the evil, but whoever will slap you on your right cheek, turn to him also the other;
40 A tomu, kdož se s tebou chce souditi a sukni tvou vzíti, nech mu i pláště.
and whoever is willing to take you to law, and to take your coat—also permit to him the cloak.
41 A nutil-li by tě kdo míli jednu, jdi s ním dvě.
And whoever will impress you one mile, go with him two;
42 A prosícímu tebe dej, a od toho, kdo by chtěl vypůjčiti od tebe, neodvracuj se.
to him who is asking of you be giving, and him who is willing to borrow from you, you may not turn away.
43 Slyšeli jste, že říkáno bylo: Milovati budeš bližního svého, a nenáviděti budeš nepřítele svého.
You heard that it was said: You will love your neighbor, and will hate your enemy;
44 Ale jáť vám pravím: Milujte nepřátely své, dobrořečte těm, kteříž vás proklínají, dobře čiňte nenávidícím vás, a modlte se za ty, kteříž vás utiskují a vám se protiví,
but I say to you, love your enemies, bless those cursing you, do good to those hating you, and pray for those accusing you falsely, and persecuting you,
45 Abyste byli synové Otce svého, kterýž jest v nebesích; nebo slunci svému velí vzchoditi na dobré i na zlé, a déšť dává na spravedlivé i na nespravedlivé.
that you may be sons of your Father in the heavens, because He causes His sun to rise on evil and good, and He sends rain on righteous and unrighteous.
46 Nebo milujete-li ty, kdož vás milují, jakou odplatu máte? Zdaliž i publikáni téhož nečiní?
For if you may love those loving you, what reward do you have? Do the tax collectors not also do the same?
47 A budete-li pozdravovati toliko bratří svých, což více činíte? Však i publikáni to činí.
And if you may greet your brothers only, what do you do abundant? Do the nations not also do so?
48 Buďtež vy tedy dokonalí, jako i Otec váš, kterýž jest v nebesích, dokonalý jest.
You will therefore be perfect, as your Father who [is] in the heavens is perfect.”
