Matouš 23
1 Tehdy Ježíš mluvil zástupům a učedlníkům svým,

2 Řka: Na stolici Mojžíšově posadili se zákonníci a farizeové.
and seide, On the chayere of Moises, scribis and Farisees han sete.
3 Protož všecko, což by koli rozkázali vám zachovávati, zachovávejte a čiňte, ale podlé skutků jejich nečiňte; neboť praví, ale nečiní.
Therfor kepe ye, and do ye alle thingis, what euer thingis thei seien to you. But nyle ye do aftir her werkis; for thei seien, and don not.
4 Svazujíť zajisté břemena těžká a nesnesitelná, a vzkládají na ramena lidská, ale prstem svým nechtí jimi ani pohnouti.
And thei bynden greuouse chargis, and that moun not be borun, and putten on schuldris of men; but with her fyngur thei wolen not moue hem.
5 Všecky pak své skutky činí, aby byli vidíni od lidí. Rozšiřují zajisté nápisy své, a veliké dělají podolky plášťů svých,
Therfor thei don alle her werkis `that thei be seen of men; for thei drawen abrood her filateries, and magnifien hemmes.
6 A milují přední místa na večeřích, a přední stolice v shromážděních,
And thei louen the first sittyng placis in soperis, and the first chaieris in synagogis;
7 A pozdravování na trhu, a aby byli nazýváni od lidí: Mistři, mistři.
and salutaciouns in chepyng, and to be clepid of men maystir.
8 Ale vy nebývejte nazýváni mistři; nebo jeden jest Mistr váš, Kristus, vy pak všickni bratří jste.
But nyle ye be clepid maister; for oon is youre maystir, and alle ye ben britheren.
9 A otce nenazývejte sobě na zemi; nebo jeden jest Otec váš, kterýž jest v nebesích.
And nyle ye clepe to you a fadir on erthe, for oon is your fadir, that is in heuenes.
10 Ani se nazývejte vůdcové; nebo jeden jest vůdce váš, Kristus.
Nether be ye clepid maistris, for oon is youre maister, Crist.
11 Ale kdo z vás největší jest, buď služebníkem vaším.
He that is grettest among you, schal be youre mynystre.
12 Kdož by pak sám se povyšoval, bude ponížen; a kdož by se ponížil, bude povýšen.
For he that hieth himself, schal be mekid; and he that mekith hym silf, schal be enhaunsid.
13 Ale běda vám, zákonníci a farizeové pokrytci, že zavíráte království nebeské před lidmi; nebo sami tam nevcházíte, a těm, kteříž by vjíti chtěli, vcházeti nedopouštíte.
But wo to you, scribis and Farisees, ipocritis, that closen the kyngdom of heuenes bifore men; and ye entren not, nether suffren men entrynge to entre.
14 Běda vám, zákonníci a farizeové pokrytci, že zžíráte domy vdovské, a to pod zámyslem dlouhého modlení; protož těžší soud ponesete.
Wo to you, scribis and Farisees, ipocritis, that eten the housis of widowis, and preien bi longe preier; for this thing ye schulen take more doom.
15 Běda vám, zákonníci a farizeové pokrytci, že obcházíte moře i zemi, abyste učinili jednoho novověrce, a když bude učiněn, učiníte jej syna zatracení, dvakrát více, nežli jste sami. (Geenna g1067)
Wo to you, scribis and Farisees, ypocritis, that goon aboute the see and the loond, to make o prosilite; and whanne he is maad, ye maken hym a sone of helle, double more than ye ben. (Geenna g1067)
16 Běda vám, vůdcové slepí, kteříž říkáte: Přisáhl-li by kdo skrze chrám, to nic není; ale kdo by přisáhl skrze zlato chrámové, povinen jest.
Wo to you, blynde lederis, that seien, Who euer swerith bi the temple of God, it is `no thing; but he that swerith in the gold of the temple, is dettoure.
17 Blázni a slepci, což jest většího, zlato-li, či chrám, kterýž posvěcuje zlata?
Ye foolis and blynde, for what is grettere, the gold, or the temple that halewith the gold?
18 A přisáhl-li by kdo skrze oltář, nic není; ale kdo by přisáhl skrze ten dar, kterýž jest na něm, povinen jest.
And who euer swerith in the auter, it is no thing; but he that swerith in the yifte that is on the auter, owith.
19 Blázni a slepci, i co jest většího, dar-li, či oltář, kterýž posvěcuje daru?
Blynde men, for what is more, the yifte, or the auter that halewith the yifte?
20 A protož kdožkoli přisahá skrze oltář, přisahá skrze něj, i skrze to všecko, což na něm jest.
Therfor he that swerith in the auter, swerith in it, and in alle thingis that ben ther on.
21 A kdož přisahá skrze chrám, přisahá skrze něj, i skrze toho, kterýž přebývá v něm.
And he that swerith in the temple, swerith in it, and in hym that dwellith in the temple.
22 A kdož přisahá skrze nebe, přisahá skrze trůn Boží, i skrze toho, kterýž na něm sedí.
And he that swerith in heuene, swerith in the trone of God, and in hym that sittith ther on.
23 Běda vám, zákonníci a farizeové pokrytci, že dáváte desátky z máty a z kopru a z kmínu, a opouštíte to, což těžšího jest v zákoně, soud a milosrdenství a věrnost. Tyto věci měli jste činiti a oněch neopouštěti.
Wo to you, scribis and Farisees, ypocritis, that tithen mynte, anete, and cummyn, and han left tho thingis that ben of more charge of the lawe, doom, and merci, and feith. And it bihofte to do these thingis, and not to leeue tho.
24 Vůdcové slepí, kteříž cedíte komára, velblouda pak požíráte.
Blynde lederis, clensinge a gnatte, but swolewynge a camel.
25 Běda vám, zákonníci a farizeové pokrytci, že čistíte po vrchu konvice a misy, a vnitř plné jsou loupeže a nestředmosti.
Woo to you, scribis and Farisees, ypocritis, that clensen the cuppe and the plater with outforth; but with ynne ye ben ful of raueyne and vnclennesse.
26 Farizei slepče, vyčisť prvé to, což vnitř jest v konvi a v mise, aby i to, což jest zevnitř, bylo čisto.
Thou blynde Farisee, clense the cuppe and the plater with ynneforth, that that that is with outforth be maad clene.
27 Běda vám, zákonníci a farizeové pokrytci, že jste se připodobnili hrobům zbíleným, kteříž sic zdadí se zevnitř krásní, ale vnitř jsou plní kostí umrlčích i vší nečistoty.
Wo to you, scribis and Farisees, ipocritis, that ben lijk to sepulcris whitid, whiche with outforth semen faire to men; but with ynne thei ben fulle of boonus of deed men, and of al filthe.
28 Tak i vy zevnitř zajisté zdáte se lidem spravedliví, ale vnitř plní jste pokrytství a nepravosti.
So ye with outforth semen iust to men; but with ynne ye ben ful of ypocrisy and wickidnesse.
29 Běda vám, zákonníci a farizeové pokrytci, nebo vzděláváte hroby proroků, a ozdobujete hroby spravedlivých,
Wo to you, scribis and Farisees, ipocritis, that bilden sepulcris of profetis, and maken faire the birielis of iust men,
30 A říkáte: kdybychom byli za dnů otců našich, nebyli bychom účastníci jejich ve krvi proroků.
and seien, If we hadden be in the daies of oure fadris, we schulden not haue be her felowis in the blood of prophetis.
31 Protož osvědčujete sami proti sobě, že jste synové těch, kteříž proroky zmordovali.
And so ye ben in witnessyng to you silf, that ye ben the sones of hem that slowen the prophetis.
32 I vy také naplňte míru otců svých.
And fulfille ye the mesure of youre fadris.
Ye eddris, and eddris briddis, hou schulen ye fle fro the doom of helle? (Geenna g1067)
34 Protož aj, já posílám k vám proroky a moudré a učitele, a vy z těch některé zmordujete a ukřižujete, a některé z nich bičovati budete v školách svých, a budete je honiti z města do města,
Therfor lo! Y sende to you profetis, and wise men, and scribis; and of hem ye schulen sle and crucifie, and of hem ye schulen scourge in youre sinagogis, and schulen pursue fro cite in to citee;
35 Aby přišla na vás všeliká krev spravedlivá, vylitá na zemi, od krve Abele spravedlivého, až do krve Zachariáše syna Barachiášova, kteréhož jste zabili mezi chrámem a oltářem.

36 Amen pravím vám: Přijdou tyto všecky věci na pokolení toto.

37 Jeruzaléme, Jeruzaléme, mordéři proroků, a kterýž kamenuješ ty, kteříž byli k tobě posíláni, kolikrát jsem chtěl shromážditi dítky tvé, tak jako slepice shromažďuje kuřátka svá pod křídla, a nechtěli jste.

38 Aj, zanecháváť se vám dům váš pustý.
Lo! youre hous schal be left to you desert.
39 Neboť pravím vám, že mne již více nikoli neuzříte od této chvíle, až i díte: Požehnaný, kterýž se béře ve jménu Páně.
And Y seie to you, ye schulen not se me fro hennus forth, til ye seien, Blessid is he, that cometh in the name of the Lord.
