1 Amen, amen pravím vám: Kdož nevchází dveřmi do ovčince ovcí, ale vchází jinudy, ten zloděj jest a lotr.
Truly, truly do I say to you, He that entereth not through the door into the sheepfold, but climbeth up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber;
2 Ale kdož vchází dveřmi, pastýř jest ovcí.
but he that entereth through the door is the shepherd of the sheep.
3 Tomuť vrátný otvírá, a ovce hlas jeho slyší, a on svých vlastních ovec ze jména povolává, a vyvodí je.
To him the porter openeth; and the sheep hear his voice; and his own sheep he calleth by name, and leadeth them out.
4 A jakž ovce své vlastní vypustí, před nimi jde, a ovce jdou za ním; nebo znají hlas jeho.
When he hath put forth all his own, he goeth before them, and the sheep follow him, because they know his voice.
5 Cizího pak nikoli následovati nebudou, ale utekou od něho; nebo neznají hlasu cizích.
But a stranger they will not follow, but will flee from him; because they know not the voice of strangers.
6 To podobenství pověděl jim Ježíš, ale oni nevěděli, co by to bylo, což jim mluvil.
This parable Jesus spoke to them; but they did not understand what the things were which he spoke to them.
7 Tedy opět řekl jim Ježíš: Amen, amen pravím vám: Že já jsem dvéře ovcí.
Jesus therefore said, Truly, truly do I say to you, I am the door of the sheep.
8 Všickni, kolikž jich koli přede mnou příšlo, zloději jsou a lotři, ale neslyšeli jich ovce.
All those who came are thieves and robbers; but the sheep did not hear them.
9 Já jsem dvéře. Skrze mne všel-li by kdo, spasen bude, a vejde i vyjde, a pastvu nalezne.
I am the door; if any one enter through me, he will be saved, and will go in and out, and find pasture.
10 Zloděj nepřichází, než aby kradl a mordoval a hubil; já jsem přišel, aby život měly, a hojně měly.
The thief cometh not but to steal, and to kill, and to destroy; I came that they might have life, and have abundance.
11 Já jsem ten pastýř dobrý. Dobrý pastýř duši svou pokládá za ovce.
I am the good shepherd; the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep.
12 Ale nájemník a ten, kterýž není pastýř, jehož nejsou ovce vlastní, vida vlka, an jde, i opouští ovce i utíká, a vlk lapá a rozhání ovce.
He that is a hireling and not a shepherd, nor the owner of the sheep, seeth the wolf coming, and leaveth the sheep, and fleeth; and the wolf catcheth them, and scattereth the sheep;
13 Nájemník pak utíká; nebo nájemník jest, a nemá péče o ovce.
because he is a hireling, and careth not for the sheep.
14 Já jsem ten dobrý pastýř, a známť své, a znajíť mne mé.
I am the good shepherd, and I know my sheep, and they know me,
15 Jakož mne zná Otec, a já znám Otce, a duši svou pokládám za ovce.
even as the Father knoweth me, and I know the Father; and I give my life for the sheep.
16 A mámť i jiné ovce, kteréž nejsou z tohoto ovčince. I tyť musím přivesti; nebo hlas můj slyšeti budou. A budeť jeden ovčinec a jeden pastýř.
And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold; them also I must bring; and they will hear my voice, and there will be one flock, one shepherd.
17 Protož mne Otec miluje, že já pokládám duši svou, abych ji zase vzal.
On this account the Father loveth me, because I lay down my life, that I may take it again.
18 Nižádnýť jí nebéře ode mne, ale já pokládám ji sám od sebe. Mám moc položiti ji, a mám moc zase vzíti ji. To přikázaní vzal jsem od Otce svého.
No one taketh it from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have authority to lay it down, and I have authority to take it again; this charge I received from my Father.
19 Tedy stala se opět různice mezi Židy pro ty řeči.
Again there arose a division among the Jews on account of these words.
20 A pravili mnozí z nich: Ďábelství má a blázní. Co ho posloucháte?
Many of them said, He hath a demon, and is mad; why do ye hear him?
21 Jiní pravili: Tato slova nejsou ďábelství majícího. Zdaliž ďábelství může slepých oči otvírati?
Others said, These are not the words of one that hath a demon. Can a demon open the eyes of the blind?
22 Bylo pak posvícení v Jeruzalémě, a zima byla.
And the feast of the dedication came at Jerusalem. It was winter;
23 I procházel se Ježíš v chrámě po síňci Šalomounově.
and Jesus was walking in the temple, in Solomon's porch.
24 Tedy obstoupili jej Židé, a řekli jemu: Dokudž duši naši držíš: Jestliže jsi ty Kristus, pověz nám zjevně.
Then came the Jews around him, and said to him, How long dost thou hold our minds in suspense? If thou art the Christ, tell us plainly.
25 Odpověděl jim Ježíš: Pověděl jsem vám, a nevěříte. Skutkové, kteréž já činím ve jménu Otce svého, tiť svědectví vydávají o mně.
Jesus answered them, I have told you, and ye do not believe. The works that I do in my Father's name, these bear witness of me.
26 Ale vy nevěříte, nebo nejste z ovcí mých, jakož jsem vám pověděl.
But ye do not believe, because ye are not of my sheep, as I said to you.
27 Ovceť mé hlas můj slyší, a já je znám, a následujíť mne.
My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me;
29 Otec můj, kterýž mi je dal, větší jest nade všecky, a žádnýť jich nemůže vytrhnouti z ruky Otce mého.
That which my Father hath given me is greater than all; and no one is able to tear [[them]] out of the Father's hand.
30 Já a Otec jedno jsme.
I and the Father are one.
31 Tedy zchápali opět kamení Židé, aby jej kamenovali.
The Jews again took up stones to stone him.
32 Odpověděl jim Ježíš: Mnohé dobré skutky ukázal jsem vám od Otce svého. Pro který z těch skutků kamenujete mne?
Jesus answered them, Many good works have I shown you from the Father; for which of those works do ye stone me?
33 Odpověděli jemu Židé, řkouce. Pro dobrý skutek tebe nekamenujeme, ale pro rouhání, totiž že ty, člověk jsa, děláš se Bohem.
The Jews answered him, Not for a good work do we stone thee, but for blasphemy, and because thou, who art a man, makest thyself God.
34 Odpověděl jim Ježíš: Však psáno jest v zákoně vašem: Já jsem řekl: Bohové jste.
Jesus answered them, Is it not written in your Law, “I said, ye are gods”?
35 Poněvadž ty nazval bohy, k nimž řeč Boží stala se, a nemůže zrušeno býti písmo,
If he called them gods, to whom the word of God came, and the Scripture cannot be made void,
36 Mně pak, kteréhož posvětil Otec a poslal na svět, vy pravíte: Rouháš se, že jsem řekl: Syn Boží jsem?
say ye of him whom the Father sanctified, and sent into the world, Thou blasphemest, because I said, I am the Son of God?
37 Nečiním-liť skutků Otce svého, nevěřte mi.
If I do not the works of my Father, believe me not.
38 Pakliť činím, byste pak mně nevěřili, skutkům věřte, abyste poznali a věřili, že Otec ve mně jest, a já v něm.
But if I do them, though ye believe not me, believe the works; that ye may learn and know that the Father is in me, and I in the Father.
39 Tedy opět hledali ho jíti, ale vyšel z rukou jejich.
They sought therefore to seize him; and he went forth out of their hands.
40 I odšel opět za Jordán na to místo, kdež nejprvé Jan křtil, a pozůstal tam.
And he went away again beyond the Jordan, to the place where John was at first baptizing; and there he abode.
41 I přišli k němu mnozí, a pravili: Jan zajisté žádného divu neučinil, ale všecko, cožkoli mluvil Jan o tomto, pravé bylo.
And many came to him, and said, John indeed wrought no sign; but everything that John said of this man was true.
42 A mnozí tam uvěřili v něho.
And many believed in him there.
