Hozeáš 8
1 Přičině k ústům svým troubu, rci: Aj, letí jako orlice na dům Hospodinův, proto že přestoupili smlouvu mou, a proti zákonu mému převráceně činili.
Put the trumpet to thy mouth! Like an eagle cometh an enemy against the house of Jehovah, Because they have transgressed my covenant, And have rebelled against my law.
2 Budouť sic volati: Bože můj, znáť tebe Izrael,
They shall say to me, My God, we know thee, we, thine Israel!
3 Ale opustilť jest Izrael dobré, nepřítel jej stihati bude.
Israel hath cast away what is good; The enemy shall pursue him.
4 Oniť ustanovují krále, ale beze mne; knížata vyzdvihují, k nimž já se neznám; z stříbra i z zlata svého činí sobě modly k svému zkažení.
They have set up kings, but not by me; They have made princes, and I knew it not. Of their silver and their gold have they made themselves idols, That they may be brought to destruction.
5 Opustíť je tele tvé, ó Samaří, když se zažhne prchlivost má na ně. Až dokudž nebudou moci ostříhati nevinnosti?
An abomination is thy calf, O Samaria! Mine anger is kindled against them; How long will it be ere they can attain to purity!
6 Však i ono jest od Izraele, řemeslník je udělal, a neníť Bohem; nebo drtiny budou z toho telete Samařského.
For from Israel it came; The workman made it, and it is no God; Yea, into fragments shall the calf of Samaria be broken.
7 Poněvadž větru rozsívají, takéť vichřici žíti budou; ani stébla žádného míti nebudou; úroda nevydá mouky, a by pak i vydala, cizozemci to sehltí.
They have sown the wind, And they shall reap the whirlwind. They shall have no standing harvest; The ear shall yield no meal; If perchance it yield, strangers shall devour it.
8 Sehlcen bude Izrael, tudíž budou mezi pohany jako nádoba, v níž není žádné líbosti.
Israel is swallowed up; Soon shall they become among the nations As a vessel which no one desireth.
9 Proto že se oni utíkají k Assurovi, oslu divokému, kterýž jest toliko sám svůj, a že Efraim sobě najímá milovníky,
For they have gone up to Assyria, Like a solitary wild-ass; Ephraim hireth lovers;
10 A že posílali dary mezi pohany: protož tudíž je zberu i já, anobrž jižť jsou okusili něčeho pro břímě krále knížat.
But though they hire among the nations, Soon will I gather the nations against them; Then shall they rest a little while from the burden of their king, and their princes!
11 Nebo vzdělal Efraim mnoho oltářů k hřešení, máť oltáře k hřešení.
Ephraim hath built many altars for sin, Therefore shall he have altars for sin.
12 Vypsal jsem jemu znamenité věci v zákoně svém, ale neváží sobě rovně jako cizí věci.
Though I write for him many laws, They are accounted as a strange thing;
13 Z obětí darů mých obětují maso a jedí, Hospodin neoblibuje jich. Jižť zpomene na nepravost jejich, a vyhledávati bude hříchy jejich, že se oni do Egypta navracují,
As to the sacrifices which they should offer me, they slay flesh and eat it; Jehovah hath no pleasure in them. Now will he remember their iniquity, And punish their sins; To Egypt shall they return.
14 A že se zapomenul Izrael na Učinitele svého, a nastavěl chrámů, a Juda vzdělal mnoho měst hrazených. Protož pošli oheň na města jeho, a zžíře paláce jeho.
For Israel hath forgotten his Maker, and builded palaces, And Judah hath multiplied fenced cities; But I will send a fire upon his cities, And it shall devour his palaces.
