1 Tito pak jsou lidé té krajiny, kteříž se z zajetí a přestěhování toho brali, jakž je byl přestěhoval Nabuchodonozor král Babylonský do Babylona, a navrátili se do Jeruzaléma a do Judstva, jeden každý do města svého,
And these are the children of the province, that went up out of the captivity of those that had been carried away, whom Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon had carried away to Babylon, and who came again to Jerusalem and to Judah, every one to his city,
2 Kteříž přišli s Zorobábelem, s Jesua, s Nehemiášem, Saraiášem, Reelaiášem, Mardocheem, Bilsanem, Misparem, Bigvajem, Rechumem a Baanou. Počet mužů z lidu Izraelského:

3 Synů Farosových dva tisíce, sto sedmdesáte dva.

All the Nethinim and the children of Solomon's servants, three hundred and ninety-two.
59 Tito také byli, kteříž šli z Telmelach, Telcharsa, Cherub, Addan a Immer, ale nemohli ukázati domu otců svých a semene svého, že by z Izraele byli:
And these are they that went up from Tel-melah, Tel-harsha, Cherub-Addan, Immer; but they could not shew their fathers' house, nor their seed, whether they were of Israel.
60 Synů Delaiášových, synů Tobiášových, synů Nekodových šest set padesáte dva.
The children of Delaiah, the children of Tobijah, the children of Nekoda, six hundred and fifty-two.
61 A z synů kněžských synové Chabaiášovi, synové Kózovi, synové Barzillai, kterýž pojav sobě ze dcer Barzillai Galádského manželku, nazván jest jménem jejich.
And of the children of the priests: the children of Habaiah, the children of Koz, the children of Barzillai; who took a wife of the daughters of Barzillai the Gileadite, and was called after their name.
62 Ti vyhledávali zapsání o sobě, chtíce prokázati rod svůj, ale nenašlo se. Protož zbaveni jsou kněžství.
These sought their genealogical register, but they were not found; therefore were they, as polluted, removed from the priesthood.
63 A zapověděl jim Tirsata, aby nejedli z věcí svatosvatých, dokudž by nestál kněz s urim a thumim.
And the Tirshatha said to them that they should not eat of the most holy things, till there stood up a priest with Urim and with Thummim.
64 Všeho toho shromáždění pospolu čtyřidceti a dva tisíce, tři sta šedesáte,
The whole congregation together was forty-two thousand three hundred and sixty,
65 Kromě služebníků jejich, a děvek jejich, jichž bylo sedm tisíc, tři sta třidceti sedm. A mezi nimi bylo zpěváků a zpěvakyní dvě stě.
besides their servants and their maids, of whom there were seven thousand three hundred and thirty-seven; and they had two hundred singing men and singing women.
66 Koní jejich sedm set třidceti šest, mezků jejich dvě stě čtyřidceti pět.
Their horses were seven hundred and thirty-six; their mules two hundred and forty-five;
67 Velbloudů jejich čtyři sta třidceti pět, oslů šest tisíc, sedm set a dvadceti.
their camels four hundred and thirty-five; the asses six thousand seven hundred and twenty.
68 Z knížat pak čeledí otcovských, někteří, když přišli k domu Hospodinovu, kterýž byl v Jeruzalémě, dobrovolně se oddavše, aby stavěli dům Boží na gruntech jeho,
And some of the chief fathers, when they came to the house of Jehovah which is at Jerusalem, offered freely for the house of God to set it up in its place.
69 Vedlé možnosti své dali náklad k dílu: Zlata jeden a šedesáte tisíc drachem, stříbra pak pět tisíc liber, a sukní kněžských sto.
They gave after their ability to the treasure of the work sixty-one thousand darics of gold, and five thousand pounds of silver, and one hundred priests' coats.
70 A tak osadili se kněží i Levítové a někteří z lidu, i zpěváci i vrátní a Netinejští v městech svých, i všecken Izrael v městech svých.
And the priests, and the Levites, and [some] of the people, and the singers, and the doorkeepers, and the Nethinim dwelt in their cities, and all Israel in their cities.
