2 Mojžišova 14
1 Mluvil pak Hospodin k Mojžíšovi, řka:
Adonai spoke to Moses [Drawn out], saying,
2 Mluv k synům Izraelským, ať navrátíce se, rozbijí stany před Fiarot, mezi Magdalem a mořem, proti Belsefon; naproti němu rozbijete stany při moři.
“Speak to the children of Israel [God prevails], that they turn back and encamp before Pihahiroth, between Migdol and the sea, before Baal Zephon. You shall encamp opposite it by the sea.
3 A dí Farao o synech Izraelských: Ssouženi jsou na zemi, sevřela je poušť.
Pharaoh will say of the children of Israel [God prevails], ‘They are entangled in the land. The wilderness has shut them in.’
4 I zatvrdím srdce Faraonovo, a honiti je bude, a oslaven budu v Faraonovi a ve všem vojsku jeho; a zvědí Egyptští, že já jsem Hospodin. I učinili tak.
I will harden Pharaoh’s heart, and he will follow after them; and I will get honor over Pharaoh, and over all his armies; and the Egyptians [people from Abode of slavery] shall know that I am Adonai.” They did so.
5 Povědíno pak bylo králi Egyptskému, že by lid utíkal. I obráceno jest srdce Faraonovo a služebníků jeho proti lidu, a řekli: Co jsme to učinili, že jsme propustili Izraele, aby nesloužil nám?
The king of Egypt [Abode of slavery] was told that the people had fled; and the heart of Pharaoh and of his servants was changed towards the people, and they said, “What is this we have done, that we have let Israel [God prevails] go from serving us?”
6 Protož zapřáhl do svého vozu, a lid svůj vzal s sebou.
He prepared his chariot, and took his army with him;
7 A vzal šest set vozů vybraných, i všecky vozy Egyptské, nad nimiž nade všemi byli hejtmané.
and he took six hundred chosen chariots, and all the chariots of Egypt [Abode of slavery], and captains over all them.
8 I zatvrdil Hospodin srdce Faraona krále Egyptského, tak že honil syny Izraelské; synové pak Izraelští vyšli v ruce vyvýšené.
Adonai hardened the heart of Pharaoh king of Egypt [Abode of slavery], and he pursued the children of Israel [God prevails]; for the children of Israel [God prevails] went out with a high hand.
9 I honili je Egyptští, a postihli je, když se položili při moři, všickni vozové Faraonovi, a jezdci jeho i vojsko jeho podlé Fiarot, před Belsefon.
The Egyptians [people from Abode of slavery] pursued them. All the horses and chariots of Pharaoh, his horsemen, and his army overtook them encamping by the sea, beside Pihahiroth, before Baal Zephon.
10 A když se přiblížil Farao, pozdvihli synové Izraelští očí svých, a aj, Egyptští táhnou za nimi. I báli se velmi, a volali synové Izraelští k Hospodinu.
When Pharaoh came near, the children of Israel [God prevails] lifted up their eyes, and behold, the Egyptians [people from Abode of slavery] were marching after them; and they were very afraid. The children of Israel [God prevails] cried out to Adonai.
11 A řekli Mojžíšovi: Zdali proto, že ne bylo hrobů v Egyptě, vyvedl jsi nás, abychom zemřeli na poušti? Co jsi nám to učinil, že jsi vyvedl nás z Egypta?
They said to Moses [Drawn out], “Because there were no graves in Egypt [Abode of slavery], have you taken us away to die in the wilderness? Why have you treated us this way, to bring us out of Egypt [Abode of slavery]?
12 Zdali jsme toho nemluvili tobě ještě v Egyptě, řkouce: Nech nás, ať sloužíme Egyptským? Nebo lépe bylo nám sloužiti Egyptským, než zemříti na poušti.
Is not this the word that we spoke to you in Egypt [Abode of slavery], saying, ‘Leave us alone, that we may abad ·serve· the Egyptians [people from Abode of slavery]?’ For it were better for us to abad ·serve· the Egyptians [people from Abode of slavery], than that we should die in the wilderness.”
13 I řekl Mojžíš lidu: Nebojte se, stůjte a vizte spasení Hospodinovo, kteréž vám způsobí dnes; nebo Egyptských, kteréž jste viděli dnes, neuzříte nikdy více až na věky.
Moses [Drawn out] said to the people, “Don’t be afraid. Stand still, and see the yishu'ah ·salvation· of Adonai, which he will work for you today: for the Egyptians [people from Abode of slavery] whom you have seen today, you shall never see them again.
14 Hospodin bojovati bude za vás, a vy mlčeti budete.
Adonai will fight for you, and you shall be still.”
15 I řekl Hospodin Mojžíšovi: Co voláš ke mně? Mluv synům Izraelským, ať jdou předce.
Adonai said to Moses [Drawn out], “Why do you cry to me? Speak to the children of Israel [God prevails], that they go forward.
16 Ty pak zdvihni hůl svou, a vztáhni ruku svou na moře, a rozděl je; a nechať jdou synové Izraelští prostředkem moře po suše.
Lift up your rod, and stretch out your hand over the sea, and divide it: and the children of Israel [God prevails] shall go into the middle of the sea on dry ground.
17 Jáť pak, aj, já zatvrdím srdce Egyptských, a vejdou za nimi; i budu oslaven v Faraonovi, a ve všem vojsku jeho, v vozích jeho i v jezdcích jeho.
Behold, I myself will harden the hearts of the Egyptians [people from Abode of slavery], and they shall go in after them: and I will get myself honor over Pharaoh, and over all his armies, over his chariots, and over his horsemen.
18 A zvědí Egyptští, že já jsem Hospodin, když oslaven budu v Faraonovi, v vozích jeho a v jezdcích jeho.
The Egyptians [people from Abode of slavery] shall know that I am Adonai, when I have gotten myself honor over Pharaoh, over his chariots, and over his horsemen.”
19 I bral se anděl Boží, kterýž byl prvé předcházel vojsko Izraelské, a šel z zadu za nimi; nebo hnul se sloup oblakový, kterýž byl před nimi, a stál z zadu za nimi.
Ha mal'ak Elohim [The Angel of God], who went before the camp of Israel [God prevails], moved and went behind them; and the pillar of cloud moved from before them, and stood behind them.
20 A přišed mezi vojska Egyptských a vojska Izraelská, byl Egyptským oblakem a tmou, Izraelským pak osvěcoval noc, tak aby nepřiblížili se jedni k druhým přes celou noc.
It came between the camp of Egypt [Abode of slavery] and the camp of Israel [God prevails]; and there was the cloud and the darkness, yet gave it light by night: and one didn’t come near the other all night.
21 I vztáhl Mojžíš ruku svou na moře, a Hospodin rozdělil moře větrem východním prudce vějícím přes celou noc; a učinil moře v suchost, když se rozstoupily vody.
Moses [Drawn out] stretched out his hand over the sea, and Adonai caused the sea to go back by a strong east wind all night, and made the sea dry land, and the waters were divided.
22 Tedy šli synové Izraelští prostředkem moře po suše, a vody jim byly jako zed po pravé i po levé straně.
The children of Israel [God prevails] went into the middle of the sea on the dry ground, and the waters were a wall to them on their right hand, and on their left.
23 A honíce je Egyptští, vešli za nimi do prostřed moře, všecka jízda Faraonova, vozové i jízdní jeho.
The Egyptians [people from Abode of slavery] pursued, and went in after them into the middle of the sea: all of Pharaoh’s horses, his chariots, and his horsemen.
24 Stalo se pak v bdění jitřním, že pohleděl Hospodin na vojska Egyptských z sloupu ohně a oblaku, a zmátl vojsko Egyptské.
In the morning watch, Adonai looked out on the Egyptian [person from Abode of slavery] army through the pillar of fire and of cloud, and confused the Egyptian [person from Abode of slavery] army.
25 A odjal kola vozů jejich, aby je těžce táhli. I řekli Egyptští: Utecme před Izraelem, nebo Hospodin bojuje za ně proti Egyptským.
He took off their chariot wheels, and they drove them heavily; so that the Egyptians [people from Abode of slavery] said, “Let’s flee from the face of Israel [God prevails], for Adonai fights for them against the Egyptians [people from Abode of slavery]!”
26 Tedy řekl Hospodin Mojžíšovi: Vztáhni ruku svou na moře, ať se zase vrátí vody na Egyptské, na vozy jejich a na jezdce jejich.
Adonai said to Moses [Drawn out], “Stretch out your hand over the sea, that the waters may come again on the Egyptians [people from Abode of slavery], on their chariots, and on their horsemen.”
27 I vztáhl Mojžíš ruku svou na moře, a navrátilo se moře ráno k moci své, a Egyptští utíkali proti němu; a vrazil Hospodin Egyptské do prostřed moře.
Moses [Drawn out] stretched out his hand over the sea, and the sea teshuvah ·completely returned· to its strength when the morning appeared; and the Egyptians [people from Abode of slavery] fled against it. Adonai overthrew the Egyptians [people from Abode of slavery] in the middle of the sea.
28 A navrátivše se vody, zatopily vozy i jezdce se vším vojskem Faraonovým, což jich koli vešlo za nimi do moře, tak že nezůstal z nich ani jeden.
The waters teshuvah ·completely returned·, and covered the chariots and the horsemen, even all Pharaoh’s army that went in after them into the sea. There remained not so much as one of them.
29 Ale synové Izraelští šli po suchu prostředkem moře, a vody jim byly místo zdi po pravé i po levé straně.
But the children of Israel [God prevails] walked on dry land in the middle of the sea, and the waters were a wall to them on their right hand, and on their left.
30 A tak vysvobodil Hospodin v ten den Izraele z ruky Egyptských; a viděl Izrael Egyptské mrtvé na břehu mořském.
Thus Adonai saved Israel [God prevails] that day out of the hand of the Egyptians [people from Abode of slavery]; and Israel [God prevails] saw the Egyptians [people from Abode of slavery] dead on the seashore.
31 Viděl také Izrael moc velikou, kterouž prokázal Hospodin na Egyptských. I bál se lid Hospodina, a věřili Hospodinu i Mojžíšovi, služebníku jeho.
Israel [God prevails] saw the great work which Adonai did to the Egyptians [people from Abode of slavery], and the people feared Adonai; and they trusted in Adonai, and in his servant Moses [Drawn out].
