Skutky Apoštolů 20

1 Když pak přestala ta bouřka, povolav Pavel učedlníků, a požehnav jich, vyšel odtud, aby se bral do Macedonie.

After now ceasing the uproar (having summoned [him] *N(k)O*) Paul the disciples and (having encouraged *NO*) having said farewell he departed (to go *N(k)O*) to (*k*) Macedonia.

2 A když prošel ty krajiny, a napomenutí jim učiniv mnohými řečmi, přišel do země Řecké.

Having passed through then the districts those and having exhorted them with talk much he came to Greece;

3 A pobyv tam za tři měsíce, (kdež Židé učinili jemu zálohy, ) když se měl plaviti do Syrie, umínil navrátiti se skrze Macedonii.

Having continued then months three, having been made a plot against him by the Jews he being about to sail into Syria, arose (a purpose *N(k)O*) to return through Macedonia.

4 I šel s ním Sópater Berienský až do Azie, a z Tessalonicenských Aristarchus a Sekundus a Gáius Derbeus a Timoteus, z Azianských pak Tychikus a Trofimus.

Was accompanied by then him (until Asia *KO*) Sopater ([son] of Pyrrhus *NO*) a Berean, of the Thessalonians now Aristarchus and Secundus and Gaius of Derbe and Timothy; [the] Asians now Tychicus and Trophimus,

5 Ti šedše napřed, dočkali nás v Troadě.

These (also *no*) (having gone ahead *NK(o)*) were awaiting us in Troas;

6 My pak plavili jsme se po velikonoci z Filippis, a přišli jsme k nim do Troady v pěti dnech, a tu jsme pobyli za sedm dní.

We ourselves then sailed away after the days of the Unleavened Bread from Philippi and we came to them at Troas within days five (where *N(k)O*) we stayed days seven.

7 Tedy první den po sobotě, když se učedlníci sešli k lámání chleba, Pavel mluvil k nim, maje nazejtří jíti pryč, i prodlil řečí až do půlnoci.

In then the first [day] of the week come together (we *N(K)O*) (disciples for the *K*) breaking of bread Paul was talking to them about to depart on the next day he was continuing then the talk until midnight;

8 A bylo mnoho světel na té síni, kdež byli shromážděni.

There were now lamps many in the upper room where (we were *N(K)O*) assembled.

9 Jeden pak mládenec, jménem Eutychus, sedě na okně, jsa obtížen hlubokým snem, když tak dlouho Pavel kázal, spě, spadl s třetího ponebí dolů a vzat jest mrtvý.

(sitting *N(k)O*) then a certain young man named Eutychus by the window, overpowered by sleep deep as is talking Paul on longer, having been overpowered by the sleep he fell from the third story down and was picked up dead.

10 I sstoupiv dolů Pavel, zpolehl na něj, a objav jej, řekl: Nermuťtež se, však duše jeho v něm jest.

Having descended however Paul fell upon him and having embraced [him] said; Not do be alarmed; the for life of him in him is.

11 A vstoupiv, lámal chléb a jedl, a kázaní jim učiniv dlouho až do svitání, tak odšel pryč.

Having gone up then and having broken (the *no*) bread and having eaten, for long and having talked until daybreak, so he departed.

12 I přivedli toho mládence živého, a byli velice potěšeni.

They brought then the boy alive and were comforted not a little.

13 My pak vstoupivše na lodí, plavili jsme se do Asson, odtud majíce k sobě vzíti Pavla; nebo byl tak poručil, maje sám jíti po zemi.

We ourselves however (having gone ahead to *NK(o)*) the ship sailed (to *N(k)O*) Assos, there being about to take in Paul; Thus for having arranged himself he was readying himself to go on foot.

14 A když se k nám připojil v Asson, vzavše jej, přijeli jsme do Mitylénu.

When now (he was meeting with *N(k)O*) us at Assos, having taken in him we came to Mitylene;

15 A odtud plavíce se, druhý den byli jsme proti Chium, a třetího dne připlavili jsme se k Sámu, a pobyvše v Trogyllí, nazejtří přišli jsme do Milétu.

And from there And from there having sailed away on the following [day] we arrived (opposite *N(k)O*) Chios, on the then next [day] we arrived at Samos (and await in Trogyllium *K*) on the (and *no*) following [day] we came to Miletus.

16 Nebo Pavel byl umínil pominouti Efez, aby se nemeškal v Azii; nebo pospíchal, by možné jemu bylo, aby byl o letnicích v Jeruzalémě.

(Had decided *N(k)O*) for Paul to sail by Ephesus, so that not it may happen to him to spend time in Asia; he was hastened for if possible (it would be *N(k)O*) for him on the day of Pentecost to be in Jerusalem.

17 Tedy z Milétu poslav do Efezu, povolal k sobě starších církve.

From then Miletus having sent to Ephesus he called for the elders of the church.

18 Kteříž když přišli k němu, řekl jim: Vy víte od prvního dne, v kterýž přišel jsem do Azie, kterak jsem po všecken ten čas s vámi byl,

When then they had come to him he said to them; You yourselves know from [the] first day on which I arrived in Asia how with you the whole time I was

19 Slouže Pánu se vší pokorou i s mnohými slzami a pokušeními, kteráž na mne přicházela z úkladů Židovských,

serving the Lord with all humility and (many *K*) tears and trials that were happening to me in the plots of the Jews;

20 Kterak jsem ničeho nepominul, což by užitečného bylo, abych vám neoznámil, a neučil vás vůbec zjevně i po domích,

how no [thing] I did shrink back of that being profitable not to declare to you and to teach you publicly and from house to house,

21 Svědectví vydávaje i Židům i Řekům o pokání k Bohu, a o víře v Pána našeho Ježíše Krista.

earnestly testifying to Jews both and to Greeks in (*k*) God repentance and faith (*k*) in the Lord of us Jesus (Christ. *KO*)

22 A aj, nyní já sevřín jsa duchem, beru se do Jeruzaléma, nevěda, co mi se v něm má státi,

And now behold bound I myself in the Spirit go to Jerusalem what in it will happen to me not knowing,

23 Než že Duch svatý po městech osvědčuje mi, pravě, že vězení a ssoužení mne očekávají.

except that the Spirit Holy in every city fully testifies (to me *NO*) saying that chains and tribulations me await.

24 Však já nic na to nedbám, aniž jest mi tak drahá duše má, jen abych běh svůj s radostí vykonal, a přisluhování, kteréž jsem přijal od Pána Ježíše, k osvědčování evangelium milosti Boží.

But not of any (account *N(k)O*) I make (nor I have *K*) the life (of mine *k*) dear to myself, so as (to finish *NK(o)*) the course of mine (with joy *K*) and the ministry that I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify fully the gospel of the grace of God.

25 A aj, já nyní vím, že již více neuzříte tváři mé vy všickni, mezi kterýmiž jsem chodil, káže o království Božím.

And now behold I myself know that no longer no longer you will behold the face of me you yourselves all among whom I have gone about proclaiming the kingdom (of the God. *K*)

26 Protož osvědčujiť vám v dnešní den, žeť jsem čist od krve všech.

(therefore *N(k)O*) I testify to you in this day that innocent (I am *N(k)O*) of the blood of all;

27 Nebo jsem neobmeškal zvěstovati vám všeliké rady Boží.

not for I shrunk back not [from] declaring all the counsel of God to you.

28 Buďtež tedy sebe pilni i všeho stáda, v němž Duch svatý ustanovil vás biskupy, abyste pásli církev Boží, kteréž sobě dobyl svou vlastní krví.

do take heed (therefore *K*) to yourselves and to all the flock among which you the Spirit Holy has set overseers, to shepherd the church of the (Lord and *O*) God, which He purchased with blood the own.

29 Nebo já to vím, že po mém odjití vejdou mezi vás vlci hltaví, kteříž nebudou odpouštěti stádu.

I myself (for *k*) know (this *k*) that will come in after the departure of mine wolves grievous among you not sparing the flock,

30 A z vás samých povstanou muži, kteříž budou mluviti převrácené věci, aby obrátili učedlníky po sobě.

and out from your own selves will rise up men speaking perverted [things] such that to draw away disciples after (them. *NK(o)*)

31 Protož bděte, v paměti majíce, že jsem po tři léta nepřestával dnem i nocí s pláčem napomínati jednoho každého.

Therefore do watch remembering that three years night and day not I ceased with tears admonishing one each.

32 A již nyní, bratří, poroučím vás Bohu a slovu milosti jeho, kterýž mocen jest vzdělati, a dáti vám dědictví mezi všemi posvěcenými.

And now I commit you (brothers *K*) (to God *NK(O)*) and to the word of the grace of Him, who is being able (to build [it] *N(k)O*) and to give (to you *k*) (the *no*) inheritance among those sanctified all.

33 Stříbra neb zlata neb roucha nežádal jsem od žádného.

Silver or gold or clothing of no [one] I coveted;

34 Nýbrž sami víte, že toho, čehož mi kdy potřebí bylo, i těm, kteříž jsou se mnou, dobývaly ruce tyto.

You yourselves (now *k*) know that to the needs of me and to that [of those] being with me ministered to hands these.

35 Vše ukázal jsem vám, že tak pracujíce, musíme snášeti mdlé, a pamatovati na slova Pána Ježíše; nebť on řekl: Blahoslaveněji jest dáti nežli bráti.

In everything I showed you that by thus straining it behooves [us] to aid those being weak, to remember and also the words of the Lord Jesus, how He Himself said; Blessed it is more to give than to receive.

36 A to pověděv, klekna na kolena svá, modlil se s nimi se všemi.

And these things having said having bowed the knee of him with all them he prayed.

37 I stal se pláč veliký ode všech, a padajíce na hrdlo Pavlovo, líbali jej,

Much then weeping there was among all, and having fallen upon the neck of Paul they were kissing him,

38 Rmoutíce se nejvíce nad tím slovem, kteréž řekl, že by již více neměli tváři jeho viděti. I provodili jej až k lodí.

sorrowing especially over the word that he had spoken that no longer no longer they are about the face of him to see. They were accompanying then him to the ship.
