Skutky Apoštolů 13
1 Byli pak v církvi, kteráž byla v Antiochii, někteří proroci a učitelé, jako Barnabáš a Šimon, kterýž měl přijmí Černý, a Lucius Cyrenenský, a Manahen, kterýž byl spolu vychován s Heródesem tetrarchou, a Saul.
Now, there were in the congregation that was at Antioch, certain prophets and teachers; particularly, Barnabas, and Simeon, who was called Niger, and Lucius, the Cyrenian, and Manaen, who was educated with Herod, the tetrarch, and Saul.
2 A když oni služby Páně konali, a postili se, dí Duch svatý: Oddělte mi Barnabáše a Saule k dílu, k kterémuž jsem jich povolal.
And as they were ministering to the Lord, and fasting, the Holy Spirit said, Separate to me Barnabas and Saul, for the work to which I have called them.
3 Tedy postíce se, a modlíce se, a vzkládajíce na ně ruce, propustili je.
And having fasted and prayed, and laid hands on them; they dismissed them.
4 A oni posláni byvše od Ducha svatého, přišli do Seleucie, a odtud plavili se do Cypru.
They, therefore, being sent by the Holy Spirit, departed to Seleucia; and from thence they sailed to Cyprus;
5 A přišedše do Salaminy, zvěstovali slovo Boží v školách Židovských; a měli s sebou i Jana k službě.
and being arrived at Salamis, they proclaimed the word of God in the synagogues of the Jews; and they had also John for their attendant.
6 A když zchodili ten ostrov až do Páfu, nalezli jakéhos čarodějníka, falešného proroka Žida, jemuž jméno Barjezus,
And having traversed the island, as far as Paphos, they found a certain Jew, a magician and false prophet, whose name was Barjesus;
7 Kterýž byl u znamenitého vládaře Sergia Pavla, může opatrného. Ten povolav Barnabáše a Saule, žádal slyšeti slovo Boží.
who was with the proconsul Sergius Paulus, a prudent man; who calling for Barnabas and Saul desired to hear the word of God.
8 Ale protivil se jim Elymas, ten čarodějník, (nebo se tak vykládá jméno jeho, ) usiluje odvrátiti vládaře od víry.
But Elymas, the magician, (for that was his name, when translated, ) withstood them, endeavoring to turn away the proconsul from the faith.
9 Tedy Saul, kterýž slove i Pavel, naplněn byv Duchem svatým, a pilně pohleděv na něj,
Then Saul, (who is also called Paul, ) being filled with the Holy Spirit, and looking steadfastly upon him,
10 Řekl: Ó plný vší lsti a vší nešlechetnosti, synu ďáblův, nepříteli vší spravedlnosti, což nepřestaneš převraceti cest Páně přímých?
said, O! full of all deceit, and of all wickedness! child of the devil! enemy of all righteousness! will you not cease to pervert the right ways of the Lord?
11 A aj, nyní ruka Páně nad tebou, a budeš slepý, nevida slunce až do času. A pojednou připadla na něj mrákota a tma, a jda vůkol, hledal, kdo by ho za ruku vedl.
And, behold, now the hand of the Lord is upon you, and you shall be blind, and not see the sun for a time. And, immediately, a mist and darkness fell upon him; and going about, he sought some to lead him by the hand.
12 Tehdy vládař uzřev, co se stalo, uvěřil, divě se učení Páně.
Then the proconsul, seeing what was done, believed; being struck with the doctrine of the Lord.
13 A pustivše se od Páfu Pavel a ti, kteříž s ním byli, přišli do Pergen v Pamfylii. Jan pak odšed od nich, vrátil se do Jeruzaléma.
And loosing from Paphos, they who were with Paul, came to Perga, in Pamphylia; but John withdrew himself from them, and returned to Jerusalem.
14 Oni pak šedše z Pergen, přišli do Antiochie Pisidické, a všedše do školy v den sobotní, posadili se.
Nevertheless, they, going on from Perga, came to Antioch, in Pisidia: and entering into the synagogue on the Sabbath day, they sat down.
15 A když bylo po přečtení zákona a proroků, poslali k nim knížata školy té, řkouce: Muži bratří, máte-li úmysl jaké napomenutí učiniti k lidu, mluvte.
And after the reading of the law and the prophets; the rulers of the synagogue sent to them, saying, Brethren, if you have any word of exhortation to the people, speak it.
16 Tedy Pavel povstav, a rukou pokynuv, řekl: Muži Izraelští, a kteříž se bojíte Boha, slyšte.
Then Paul stood up, and waiving his hand, said, Men of Israel, and you that fear God, hearken.
17 Bůh lidu tohoto Izraelského vyvolil otce naše, a lidu povýšil, když byl pohostinu v zemi Egyptské, a v rameni vztaženém vyvedl je z ní.
The God of this people chose our fathers, and raised the people while sojourning in the land of Egypt; and led them out of it with an uplifted arm.
18 A za čas čtyřidceti let snášel jejich obyčeje na poušti.
And for a space of about forty years, he endured their behavior in the wilderness.
19 A zahladiv sedm národů v zemi Kanán, rozdělil losem mezi ně zemi jejich.
And having cast out seven nations in the land of Canaan, he distributed their country to them for an inheritance.
20 A potom, téměř za čtyři sta a padesáte let, dával jim soudce až do Samuele proroka.
And after these transactions, which lasted about four hundred and fifty years' he gave them judges, till Samuel the prophet.
21 A v tom žádali za krále, i dal jim Bůh Saule, syna Cis, muže z pokolení Beniaminova, za čtyřidceti let.
And, from that time, they desired a king: and God gave them Saul, the son of Kish, a man of the tribe of Benjamin, for the term of forty years.
22 A když toho zavrhl, vzbudil jim Davida krále, kterémuž svědectví dávaje, řekl: Nalezl jsem Davida, syna Jesse, muže podlé srdce svého, kterýž bude činiti všecku vůli mou.
And, having removed him, he raised up to them David, for a king; whom also he extolled, and said, "I have found David, the son of Jesse, a man according to my own heart, who shall do all my will."
23 Z jehož semene Bůh podlé zaslíbení vzbudil Izraelovi spasitele Ježíše,
Of this man's seed, according to the promise, God raised up to Israel, Jesus, the Saviour;
24 Před jehož příštím kázal Jan křest pokání všemu lidu Izraelskému.
John having, to introduce his appearance, before he preached the immersion of reformation to all the people of Israel.
25 A když Jan běh dokonával, pravil: Kteréhož se mne domníváte býti, nejsem já, ale aj, jdeť po mně, u jehož noh obuvi rozvázati nejsem hoden.
And when John was fulfilling his course, he said, Whom do you imagine me to be? I am not He; but behold, there comes one after me, the shoes of whose feet I am not worthy to loose.
26 Muži bratří, synové rodu Abrahamova, a kteříž mezi vámi bojí se Boha, vám slovo spasení tohoto posláno jest.
Brethren, children of the family of Abraham, and those among you that fear God; to you is the word of this salvation sent:
27 Nebo ti, kteříž přebývají v Jeruzalémě, a knížata jejich, toho Ježíše neznajíce, odsoudili, a tak hlasy prorocké, kteříž se na každou sobotu čtou, naplnili.
for the inhabitants of Jerusalem; and their rulers, not knowing him, nor the sayings of the prophets, which are read every Sabbath day; have fulfilled them in condemning him.
28 A žádné příčiny smrti na něm nenalezše, prosili Piláta, aby zamordován byl.
And though they could find no cause of death in him; yet they requested Pilate that he might be executed.
29 A když dokonali všecko, což o něm psáno bylo, složivše s dřeva, do hrobu jej položili.
And when they had accomplished all things that were written concerning him; taking him down from the cross, they laid him in a tomb.
30 Bůh pak vzkřísil jej z mrtvých.
But God raised him up from the dead:
31 Kterýž vidín jest po mnohé dni od těch, jenž spolu s ním byli přišli z Galilee do Jeruzaléma, kteříž jsou svědkové jeho k lidu.
and he appeared for several days to those that came up with him from Galilee to Jerusalem, who are his witnesses to the people.
32 A my vám zvěstujeme to zaslíbení, kteréž se stalo otcům, že Bůh naplnil je nám synům jejich, vzkřísiv Ježíše;
And we bring you good tidings, that the very promise which was made to the fathers,
33 Jakož i v druhém žalmu napsáno jest: Syn můj jsi ty, já dnes zplodil jsem tebe.
God has accomplished to us, their children, in raising up Jesus: as it is also written in the second Psalm, "Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee."
34 A že jej z mrtvých vzkřísil, aby se již více nenavracoval k porušení, takto řekl: Dám vám svaté věci Davidovy věrné.
And because he has raised him from the dead, no more to return to corruption, he has spoken thus, "I will give you the sure mercies of David."
35 Protož i jinde dí: Nedáš svatému svému viděti porušení.
Wherefore, also, in another place he says, "Thou wilt not permit thy Holy One to see corruption."
36 David zajisté za svého věku poslouživ vůli Boží, usnul, a přiložen jest k otcům svým, a viděl porušení.
Now David, having served his own generation according to the will of God; fell asleep, and was gathered to his fathers, and saw corruption.
37 Ale ten, kteréhož Bůh vzkřísil, neviděl porušení.
But he whom God raised up, did not see corruption.
38 Protož známo vám buď, muži bratří, že skrze toho zvěstuje se vám odpuštění hříchů.
Be it known, therefore, to you, brethren, that by Him remission of sins is proclaimed to you:
39 A to ode všech, od kterýchž jste nemohli skrze zákon Mojžíšův ospravedlněni býti, skrze tohoto, každý kdož věří, bývá ospravedlněn.
and by Him, every one that believes is justified from all things; from which you could not be justified by the law of Moses.
40 Protož vizte, ať na vás nepřijde to, což jest v prorocích povědíno:
See to it, therefore, that what is spoken in the prophets may not come upon you:
41 Vizte potupníci, a podivte se, a na nic přiďte; nebo já dílo dělám za dnů vašich, dílo to, jemuž neuvěříte, byť vám kdo o něm vypravoval.
"Behold, you despisers, and wonder, and perish: for I perform a work in your days; a work which you will not believe, though one should distinctly declare it to you."
42 A když vycházeli ze školy Židovské, prosili pohané, aby jim v druhou sobotu mluvili táž slova.
Now, when going out, they requested that these words might be spoken to them, on the following Sabbath.
43 A když bylo propuštěno shromáždění, šlo mnoho Židů, a nábožných znovu na víru obrácených za Pavlem a Barnabášem, kteříž promlouvajíce k nim, radili jim, aby trvali v milosti Boží.
And when the synagogue was broke up, many of the Jews and of the devout proselytes followed Paul and Barnabas; who, speaking to them, persuaded them to persevere in the favor of God.
44 V druhou pak sobotu téměř všecko město sešlo se k slyšení slova Božího.
And, on the following Sabbath, almost the whole city was gathered together, to hear the word of God.
45 A Židé vidouce zástupy, naplněni jsou závistí, a odporovali tomu, co bylo praveno od Pavla, protivíce a rouhajíce se.
But the Jews, seeing the multitudes, were filled with zeal; and opposed the things which were spoken by Paul, contradicting and reviling.
46 Tedy svobodně Pavel a Barnabáš řekli: Vámť mělo nejprv mluveno býti slovo Boží, ale poněvadž je zamítáte, a za nehodné sebe soudíte věčného života, aj, obracíme se ku pohanům. (aiōnios g166)
Then Paul and Barnabas, with great freedom of speech, said, It was necessary, that the word of God should first be spoken to you; but since you thrust it away from you, and judge yourselves unworthy of eternal life; behold, we turn to the Gentiles. (aiōnios g166)
47 Neboť nám tak přikázal Pán, řka: Položil jsem tebe světlo pohanům, abys ty byl spasení až do končin země.
For so the Lord has charged us, saying, "I have set you for a light of the Gentiles, that you should be for salvation to the ends of the earth."
48 A slyševše to pohané, radovali se, a velebili slovo Páně; a uvěřili všickni, což jich koli bylo předzřízeno k životu věčnému. (aiōnios g166)
And the Gentiles hearing this, rejoiced, and glorified the word of the Lord: and as many as were disposed for eternal life, believed. (aiōnios g166)
49 I rozhlašovalo se slovo Páně po vší té krajině.
And the word of the Lord was published throughout all that region.
50 Tedy Židé zbouřili ženy nábožné a poctivé a přední měšťany, a vzbudili protivenství proti Pavlovi a Barnabášovi, i vyhnali je z končin svých.
But the Jews stirred up some devout women of considerable rank, and the magistrates of the city; and raised a persecution against Paul and Barnabas, and drove them out of their territories.
51 A oni vyrazivše prach z noh svých na ně, přišli do Ikonie.
And they shook off the dust of their feet against them, and came to Iconium.
52 Učedlníci pak naplněni byli radostí a Duchem svatým.
But the disciples were filled with joy, and with the Holy Spirit.
