Rimljanima 12
1 Zaklinjem vas, braćo, milosrđem Božjim: prikažite svoja tijela za žrtvu živu, svetu, Bogu milu - kao svoje duhovno bogoslužje.
I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, well-pleasing to God, which is your spiritual worship;
2 Ne suobličujte se ovomu svijetu, nego se preobrazujte obnavljanjem svoje pameti da mognete razabirati što je volja Božja, što li je dobro, Bogu milo, savršeno. (aiōn g165)
and be not conformed to the fashion of this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that ye may learn by experience what is the will of God, what is good, and well-pleasing, and perfect. (aiōn g165)
3 Da, po milosti koja mi je dana svakomu između vas velim: ne precjenjujte se više no što se treba cijeniti, nego cijenite se razumno, kako je već komu Bog odmjerio mjeru vjere.
For through the grace given to me I warn every one among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think soberly, according to the measure of faith which God hath imparted to each.
4 Jer kao što u jednom tijelu imamo mnogo udova, a nemaju svi isto djelovanje,
For as in one body we have many members, and the members have not all the same office,
5 tako smo i mi, mnogi, jedno tijelo u Kristu, a pojedinci udovi jedan drugomu.
so we, though many, form one body in Christ, and each of us is a member of it in common with the rest.
6 Dare pak imamo različite po milosti koja nam je dana: je li to prorokovanje - neka je primjereno vjeri;
Having then gifts which dither according to the grace which hath been bestowed upon us, if we have prophecy, let us prophesy according to the proportion of our faith;
7 je li služenje - neka je u služenju; je li poučavanje - u poučavanju;
or if service, let us attend to the service; he that teacheth, let him attend to teaching;
8 je li hrabrenje - u hrabrenju; tko dijeli, neka je darežljiv; tko je predstojnik - revan; tko iskazuje milosrđe - radostan!
or he that exhorteth, to exhortation; he that giveth, let him do it with liberality; he that presideth over others, with diligence; he that doeth deeds of mercy, with cheerfulness.
9 Ljubav nehinjena! Zazirite oda zla, prianjajte uz dobro!
Let your love be unfeigned. Abhor that which is evil, cleave to that which is good.
10 Srdačno se ljubite pravim bratoljubljem! Pretječite jedni druge poštovanjem!
In brotherly love, be affectionate to one another; in honor, give each other the preference.
11 U revnosti budite hitri, u duhu gorljivi, Gospodinu služite!
Be not backward in zeal; be fervent in spirit; serving the Lord.
12 U nadi budite radosni, u nevolji strpljivi, u molitvi postojani!
Rejoice in hope; be patient in affliction; persevere in prayer.
13 Pritječite u pomoć svetima u nuždi, gajite gostoljubivost!
Relieve the wants of the holy; be given to hospitality.
14 Blagoslivljajte svoje progonitelje, blagoslivljajte, a ne proklinjite!
Bless those who persecute you; bless, and curse not.
15 Radujte se s radosnima, plačite sa zaplakanima!
Rejoice with those who rejoice; weep with those who weep.
16 Budite istomišljenici među sobom! Neka vas ne zanosi što je visoko, nego privlači što je ponizno. Ne umišljajte si da ste mudri!
Be of one mind among yourselves. Set not your minds on high things, but content yourselves with what is humble. Be not wise in your own conceits.
17 Nikome zlo za zlo ne vraćajte; zauzimajte se za dobro pred svim ljudima!
Render to no one evil for evil; have regard to what is honorable in the sight of all men.
18 Ako je moguće, koliko je do vas, u miru budite sa svim ljudima!
If it be possible, as far as dependeth on you, be at peace with all men.
19 Ne osvećujte se, ljubljeni, nego dajte mjesta Božjem gnjevu. Ta pisano je: Moja je odmazda, ja ću je vratiti, veli Gospodin.
Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather make room for wrath; for it is written, “Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.”
20 Naprotiv: Ako je gladan neprijatelj tvoj, nahrani ga, i ako je žedan, napoj ga! Činiš li tako, ugljevlje mu ražareno zgrćeš na glavu.
Therefore, “if thy enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him drink. For in so doing thou wilt heap coals of fire on his head.”
21 Ne daj se pobijediti zlom, nego dobrim svladavaj zlo.
Be not overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.
