Psalmi 97

1 Jahve kraljuje: neka kliče zemlja, nek' se vesele otoci mnogi!

The Lord reigneth: let the earth be glad; let the multitude of isles rejoice.

2 Oblak i tama ovijaju njega, pravda i pravo temelji su prijestolja njegova.

Clouds and thick darkness are round about him: righteousness and justice are the support of his throne.

3 Oganj ide pred njim i sažiže okolo dušmane njegove.

A fire goeth before him, and burneth up round about his adversaries.

4 Munje mu svijet osvjetljuju; zemlja to vidi i strepi.

His lightnings give light to the world: the earth seeth it, and trembleth.

5 Brda se tope pred Jahvom k'o vosak, pred vladarom zemlje sve.

The mountains melt away like wax at the presence of the Lord, at the presence of the Lord of all the earth.

6 Nebesa navješćuju pravednost njegovu, svi narodi gledaju mu slavu.

The heavens tell of his righteousness, and all the people his glory.

7 Nek' se postide svi što likove štuju i koji se hvale kumirima. Poklonite mu se, svi bozi!

Made ashamed shall be all that serve graven images, that boast themselves of idols: unto him bow down all the gods.

8 Sion radostan sluša, gradovi Judini kliču zbog tvojih sudova, o Jahve!

Zion heareth it, and rejoiceth; and glad are the daughters of Judah, because of thy decrees, O Lord.

9 Jer ti si, o Jahve, Svevišnji - nad svom zemljom, visoko, visoko nad bozima svima.

For thou, O Lord, art the most high above all the earth: thou art greatly exalted above all gods.

10 Jahve ljubi one koji mrze na zlo, on čuva duše pobožnika svojih, izbavlja ih iz ruku opakih.

Ye that love the Lord, hate ye the evil: he preserveth the souls of his pious ones; out of the hand of the wicked he ever delivereth them.

11 Svjetlost sviće pravedniku i radost čestitima u srcu.

Light is sown for the righteous, and joy for the upright in heart.

12 Radujte se, pravednici, u Jahvi, slavite sveto ime njegovo!

Rejoice, ye righteous, in the Lord, and give thanks to his holy memorial.
