Psalmi 47

1 Zborovođi. Sinova Korahovih. Psalam. Narodi svi, plješćite rukama, kličite Bogu glasom radosnim.

You people all [over the world], clap your hands for joy! Shout joyfully to [praise] God!

2 Jer Jahve je to - svevišnji, strašan, kralj velik nad zemljom svom.

Yahweh, who is much greater than any other god, is awesome; he is the king who rules over all the world!

3 Narode je nama podložio, pogane stavio pod noge naše,

He enabled us to defeat [the armies of] the people-groups [that lived in Canaan].

4 baštinu nam odabrao - ponos Jakova, svoga ljubimca.

He chose for us this land where we now live; we Israeli people [MTY], whom he loves, are proud that we own this land.

5 Uzlazi Bog uz klicanje, Jahve uza zvuke trublje.

God has gone up [into his temple]. The people shouted joyfully and blew trumpets as Yahweh went up.

6 Pjevajte Bogu, pjevajte, pjevajte kralju našemu, pjevajte!

Sing songs to praise our God! Sing to praise him [DOU]! Sing to God, our king!

7 Jer on je kralj nad zemljom svom, pjevajte Bogu, pjevači vrsni!

God is the one who rules over everything in the world; sing a psalm to him!

8 Bog kraljuje nad narodima, stoluje Bog na svetom prijestolju.

God sits on his sacred throne as he rules over the people of [all] ethnic groups.

9 Prvaci se pribiru poganski k narodu Boga Abrahamova. Božji su svi vlastodršci zemlje, nad svima on je uzvišen.

The rulers of those people-groups gather as God’s people, the people [descended] from Abraham, [do]. But God has more power than the weapons/shields [of all the kings] on the earth; (he is greatly honored/people honor him) everywhere.
