Psalmi 34
1 Davidov. Kada se David pravio ludim pred Abimelekom, a on ALEF Blagoslivljat ću Jahvu u svako doba, njegova će mi hvala biti svagda na ustima!
א I will bless Adonai at all times. His tehilah ·praise song· will always be in my mouth.
2 BET Nek' se Jahvom duša moja hvali: nek' čuju ponizni i nek' se raduju!
בּ My soul shall boast in Adonai. The humble shall sh'ma ·hear obey· it, and be glad.
3 GIMEL Veličajte sa mnom Jahvu, uzvisujmo ime njegovo zajedno!
גּ Oh magnify Adonai with me. Let us exalt his name together.
4 DALETTražio sam Jahvu, i on me usliša, izbavi me od straha svakoga.
דּ I sought Adonai, and he answered me, and delivered me from all my fears.
5 HE U njega gledajte i razveselite se, da se ne postide lica vaša.
ה They looked to him, and were radiant. Their faces shall never be covered with shame.
6 ZAJIN Eto, jadnik vapi, a Jahve ga čuje, izbavlja ga iz svih tjeskoba.
ז This poor man cried, and Adonai sh'ma ·heard obeyed· him, and saved him out of all his troubles.
7 HET Anđeo Jahvin tabor podiže oko njegovih štovalaca da ih spasi.
ח Ha mal'ak Yahweh [The Angel of He sustains breathing] encamps around those who fear him, and delivers them.
8 TET Kušajte i vidite kako dobar je Jahve: blago čovjeku koji se njemu utječe!
ט Oh taste and see that Adonai is good. Blessed is the man who takes refuge in him.
9 JOD Bojte se Jahve, vi sveti njegovi: ne trpe oskudice koji ga se boje.
י Oh fear Adonai, you his saints, for there is no lack with those who fear him.
10 KAF Osiromašiše mogućnici i gladuju, a koji traže Jahvu ne trpe oskudice.
כּ The young lions do lack, and suffer hunger, but those who seek Adonai shall not lack any good thing.
11 LAMED Dođite, djeco, i poslušajte me, učit ću vas strahu Gospodnjem.
ל Come, you children, sh'ma ·hear obey· unto me. I will teach you the fear of Adonai.
12 MEM O čovječe, ljubiš li život? Želiš li dane mnoge uživati dobra?
מ Who of you takes pleasure in living? Who 'ahav ·affectionately loves· a long life to see good things?
13 NUN Jezik svoj oda zla suspreži i usne od riječi prijevarnih!
נ [If you do], keep your tongue from evil, and your lips from deceiving talk;
14 SAMEK Zla se kloni, a čini dobro, traži mir i za njim idi!
ס turn from evil, and do good. Seek peace, and fervently pursue it!
15 PE Oči Jahvine gledaju pravedne, uši mu slušaju vapaje njihove.
ע For Adonai’s eyes are toward the upright. His ears listen to their prayers.
16 AJIN Lice se Jahvino okreće protiv zločinaca da im spomen zatre na zemlji.
פּ But Adonai’s face is against those who do evil, to cut off their memory from the earth.
17 SADE Pravednici zazivaju, i Jahve ih čuje, izbavlja ih iz svih tjeskoba.
צ The upright cry, and Adonai sh'ma ·hears obeys·, and delivers them out of all their troubles.
18 KOF Blizu je Jahve onima koji su skršena srca, a klonule duše spasava.
ק Adonai is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit.
19 REŠ Mnoge nevolje ima pravednik, ali ga Jahve od svih izbavlja.
ר Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but Adonai delivers him out of them all.
20 ŠIN On čuva sve kosti njegove: ni jedna mu se neće slomiti.
שׁ He protects all of his bones. Not one of them is broken.
21 TAU Opakost bezbošca ubija, platit će koji mrze pravednika.
תּ Evil shall kill the wicked. Those who hate the upright shall be condemned guilty.
22 Jahve izbavlja duše slugu svojih, i neće platiti tko god se njemu utječe.
Adonai redeems the soul of his servants. None of those who take refuge in him shall be condemned guilty.
