Psalmi 27
1 Davidov. Jahve mi je svjetlost i spasenje: koga da se bojim? Jahve je štit života moga: pred kime da strepim?
Yahweh is the one who gives light [to my soul/spirit] and the one who saves me, so I do not [RHQ] need to be afraid of anyone. Yahweh is the one to whom I go for refuge, so I will never be afraid.
2 Kad navale na me zlotvori da mi tijelo žderu, protivnici moji i dušmani, oni posrću i padaju.
When those who do evil come near me to attack me, they stumble and fall down.
3 Nek' se vojska protiv mene utabori, srce se moje ne boji; nek' i rat plane protiv mene, i tada pun sam pouzdanja.
[Even] if an army surrounds me, I [SYN] will not be afraid. [Even] if they attack me, I will trust [in God].
4 Za jedno molim Jahvu, samo to ja tražim: da živim u Domu Jahvinu sve dane života svoga, da uživam milinu Jahvinu i Dom njegov gledam.
There is one thing that I have requested from Yahweh; this is the one thing that I desire: That I may worship in Yahweh’s house/temple every day of my life, and see that Yahweh is wonderful and inquire [what he wants me to do].
5 U sjenici svojoj on me zaklanja u dan kobni; skriva me u skrovištu Šatora svoga, na hridinu on me uzdiže.
He will protect me when I have troubles; he will keep me safe in his Sacred Tent. He will set me safely (on a high rock/in a secure place).
6 I sada izdižem glavu iznad dušmana oko sebe. U njegovu ću Šatoru prinositi žrtve radosne, Jahvi ću pjevat' i klicati.
Then I will triumph over [IDM] my enemies. I will shout joyfully as I offer sacrifices in his Sacred Tent, and I will praise Yahweh as I sing.
7 Slušaj, o Jahve, glas moga vapaja, milostiv mi budi, usliši me!
Yahweh, listen to me while I pray. Be kind to me and answer my prayer.
8 Moje mi srce govori: “Traži lice njegovo!” Da, lice tvoje, o Jahve, ja tražim.
I sensed that I heard you say, “Come and worship me [IDM],” so, Yahweh, I will worship you.
9 Ne skrivaj lica svoga od mene. Ne odbij u gnjevu slugu svoga! Ti, Pomoći moja, nemoj me odbaciti! I ne ostavi me, Bože, Spasitelju moj!
I am your servant; Do not be angry with me and turn away from me. You have always helped me. You are the one who has saved me, so do not abandon me [now].
10 Ako me otac i mati ostave, Jahve će me primiti.
[Even] if my father and mother desert me, you will take care of [IDM] me.
11 Nauči me, Jahve, putu svojemu, ravnom me stazom povedi poradi protivnika mojih.
Yahweh, teach me to do what you want me to do, and lead me on a safe path because I have many enemies.
12 Bijesu dušmana mojih ne predaj me, jer ustadoše na mene svjedoci lažni koji dašću nasiljem.
Do not allow my enemies to do to me what they want; they say many false things about me and [threaten to do] violent things to me.
13 Vjerujem da ću uživati dobra Jahvina u zemlji živih.
But I know that because I trust in you you will be good to me as long as I live.
14 U Jahvu se uzdaj, ojunači se, čvrsto nek' bude srce tvoje: u Jahvu se uzdaj!
So trust in Yahweh, [all of you]! Be strong and courageous, and wait expectantly for him [to help you]!
