Psalmi 139
1 Zborovođi. Davidov. Jahve, proničeš me svega i poznaješ,
For the end, a Psalm of David. O Lord, you have proved me, and known me.
2 ti znaš kada sjednem i kada ustanem, izdaleka ti već misli moje poznaješ.
You know my down-sitting and mine up-rising: you understand my thoughts long before.
3 Hodam li ili ležim, sve ti vidiš, znani su ti svi moji putovi.
You have traced my path and my bed, and have foreseen all my ways.
4 Riječ mi još nije na jezik došla, a ti, Jahve, sve već znadeš.
For there is no unrighteous word in my tongue: behold, O Lord, you have known all things,
5 S leđa i s lica ti me obuhvaćaš, na mene si ruku svoju stavio.
the last and the first: you have fashioned me, and laid your hand upon me.
6 Znanje to odveć mi je čudesno, previsoko da bih ga dokučio.
The knowledge of you is too wonderful for me; it is very difficult, I can’t [attain] to it.
7 Kamo da idem od duha tvojega i kamo da od tvog lica pobjegnem?
Whither shall I go from your Spirit? and whither shall I flee from my presence?
If I should go up to heaven, you are there: if I should go down to hell, you are present. (Sheol h7585)
9 Uzmem li krila zorina pa se naselim moru na kraj
If I should spread my wings [to fly] straight forward, and sojourn at the extremity of the sea, [it would be vain],
10 i ondje bi me ruka tvoja vodila, desnica bi me tvoja držala.
for even there your hand would guide me, and your right hand would hold me.
11 Reknem li: “Nek' me barem tmine zakriju i nek' me noć umjesto svjetla okruži!” -
When I said, Surely the darkness will cover me; even the night [was] light in my luxury.
12 ni tmina tebi neće biti tamna: noć sjaji kao dan i tama kao svjetlost.
For darkness will not be darkness with you; but night will be light as day: as its darkness, so shall its light [be to you].
13 Jer ti si moje stvorio bubrege, satkao me u krilu majčinu.
For you, O Lord, have possessed my reins; you have helped me from my mother's womb.
14 Hvala ti što sam stvoren tako čudesno, što su djela tvoja predivna. Dušu moju do dna si poznavao,
I will give you thanks; for you are fearfully wondrous; wondrous are your works; and my soul knows [it] well.
15 kosti moje ne bjehu ti sakrite dok nastajah u tajnosti, otkan u dubini zemlje.
My bones, which you made in secret were not hidden from you, nor my substance, in the lowest parts of the earth.
16 Oči tvoje već tada gledahu djela moja, sve već bješe zapisano u knjizi tvojoj: dani su mi određeni dok još ne bješe ni jednoga.
Your eyes saw my unwrought [substance], and all [men] shall be written in your book; they shall be formed by day, though [there should for a time] be no one amongst them.
17 Kako su mi, Bože, naumi tvoji nedokučivi, kako li je neprocjenjiv zbroj njihov.
But your friends, O God, have been greatly honoured by me; their rule has been greatly strengthened.
18 Da ih brojim? Više ih je nego pijeska! Dođem li im do kraja, ti mi preostaješ!
I will number them, and they shall be multiplied beyond the sand; I awake, and am still with you.
19 De, istrijebi, Bože, zlotvora, krvoloci nek' odstupe od mene!
Oh that you would kill the wicked, O God; depart from me, you men of blood.
20 Jer podmuklo se bune protiv tebe, uzalud se dižu tvoji dušmani.
For you will say concerning [their] thought, [that] they shall take your cities in vain.
21 Jahve, zar da ne mrzim tvoje mrzitelje? Zar da mi se ne gade protivnici tvoji?
Have I not hated them, O Lord, that hate you? and wasted away because of your enemies?
22 Mržnjom dubokom ja ih mrzim i držim ih svojim neprijateljima.
I have hated them with perfect hatred; they were counted my enemies.
23 Pronikni me svega, Bože, srce mi upoznaj, iskušaj me i upoznaj misli moje:
Prove me, O God, and know my heart; examine me, and know my paths;
24 pogledaj, ne idem li putem pogubnim i povedi me putem vječnim!
and see if [there is any] way of iniquity in me, and lead me in an everlasting way.
