1 Poslije toga zla Jahve reče Mojsiju i Eleazaru, sinu svećenika Arona:
It came about after the plague that Yahweh spoke to Moses and Eleazar son of Aaron the priest. He said,
2 “Obavite popis sve zajednice sinova Izraelovih, po njihovim porodicama, popišite sve, od dvadeset godina pa naviše, koji su u Izraelu sposobni za borbu.”
“Count all the community of the people of Israel, from twenty years old and up, by their ancestor's families, all who are able to go to war for Israel.”
3 Mojsije, dakle, i svećenik Eleazar popišu ih na Moapskim poljanama, uz Jordan blizu Jerihona,
So Moses and Eleazar the priest spoke to them in the plains of Moab by the Jordan at Jericho and said,
4 sve od dvadeset godina pa naviše, kako je Jahve naredio Mojsiju i Izraelcima. Sinovi Izraelovi koji su izašli iz zemlje egipatske bili su:
“Count the people, from twenty years old and up, as Yahweh commanded Moses and the people of Israel, who came out of the land of Egypt.”
5 Izraelov prvorođenac Ruben. Sinovi Rubenovi: od Henoka rod Henokovaca; od Palua rod Paluovaca;
Reuben was the firstborn of Israel. From his son Hanok came the clan of the Hanokites. From Pallu came the clan of the Palluites.
6 od Hesrona rod Hesronovaca i od Karmija rod Karmijevaca.
From Hezron came the clan of the Hezronites. From Karmi came the clan of the Karmites.
7 To su rodovi Rubenovaca. Njih je bilo četrdeset i tri tisuće sedam stotina i trideset.
These were the clans of Reuben, who numbered 43,730 men.
8 Paluov sin bijaše Eliab,
Eliab was a son of Pallu.
9 a sinovi Eliabovi: Nemuel, Datan i Abiram. Taj Datan i Abiram bijahu ugledni članovi zajednice koji se podigoše protiv Mojsija i Arona u buni Korahovoj, kad se pobuniše protiv Jahve.
Eliab's sons were Nemuel, Dathan, and Abiram. These were the same Dathan and Abiram who followed Korah when they challenged Moses and Aaron and rebelled against Yahweh.
10 Nato je zemlja rastvorila svoje ralje i progutala ih zajedno s Korahom, kad je smrt pograbila tu skupinu i oganj proždro dvjesta i pedeset ljudi. Tako su postali opomenom.
The earth opened its mouth and swallowed them up together with Korah when all his followers died. At that time, fire devoured 250 men, who became a warning sign.
11 No sinovi Korahovi ne izginuše.

14 To su rodovi Šimunovaca, njih dvadeset i dvije tisuće i dvjesta.
These were the clans of Simeon's descendants, who numbered 22,200 men.
15 Sinovi Gadovi po svojim rodovima: od Sefona rod Sefonovaca; od Hagija rod Hagijevaca; od Šunija rod Šunijevaca;
The clans of Gad's descendants were these: Through Zephon, the clan of the Zephonites, through Haggi, the clan of the Haggites, through Shuni, the clan of the Shunites,
16 od Oznija rod Oznijevaca; od Erija rod Erijevaca;
through Ozni, the clan of the Oznites, through Eri, the clan of the Erites,
17 od Aroda roda Arodovaca i od Arelija rod Arelijevaca.

18 To su rodovi Gadovih potomaka. Njih je upisano četrdeset tisuća i pet stotina.
These were the clans of Gad's descendants, who numbered 40,500 men.
19 Judini sinovi: Er i Onan. I Er i Onan umriješe u zemlji kanaanskoj.
Judah's sons were Er and Onan, but these men died in the land of Canaan.
20 Sinovi Judini po svojim rodovima bijahu: od Šele rod Šelinaca; od Peresa rod Peresovaca i od Zeraha rod Zerahovaca.
The clans of Judah's other descendants were these: through Shelah, the clan of the Shelanites, through Perez, the clan of the Perezites, and through Zerah, the clan of the Zerahites.
21 Peresovi su sinovi opet bili: od Hesrona rod Hesronovaca i od Hamula rod Hamulovaca.
The descendants of Perez were these: Through Hezron, the clan of the Hezronites, through Hamul, the clan of the Hamulites.
22 To su Judini rodovi. Njih je upisano sedamdeset i šest tisuća i petsto.
These were the clans of Judah's descendants, who numbered 76,500 men.
23 Sinovi Jisakarovi, prema svojim rodovima: od Tole rod Tolinaca; od Puve rod Puvinaca;
The clans of Issachar's descendants were these: Through Tola, the clan of the Tolaites, through Puah, the clan of the Puites,
24 od Jašuba rod Jašubovaca i od Šimrona rod Šimronovaca.
through Jashub, the clan of the Jashubites, through Shimron, the clan of the Shimronites.
25 To su Jisakarovi rodovi. Njih je upisano šezdeset i četiri tisuće i trista.
These were the clans of Issachar, who numbered 64,300 men.
26 Sinovi Zebulunovi, po svojim rodovima: od Sereda rod Seredovaca; od Elona rod Elonovaca i od Jahleela rod Jahleelovaca.
The clans of Zebulun's descendants were these: Through Sered, the clan of the Seredites, through Elon, the clan of the Elonites, through Jahleel, the clan of the Jahleelites.
27 To su rodovi Zebulunovaca. Njih je upisano šezdeset tisuća i pet stotina.
These were the clans of the Zebulunites, who numbered 60,500 men.
28 Sinovi Josipovi, po svojim rodovima: Manaše i Efrajim.
The clans of Joseph's descendants were Manasseh and Ephraim.
29 Sinovi Manašeovi: od Makira rod Makirovaca. Makiru se rodio Gilead. Od Gileada rod Gileadovaca.
The descendants of Manasseh were these: through Makir, the clan of the Makirites (Makir was Gilead's father), through Gilead, the clan of the Gileadites.
30 Ovo su bili sinovi Gileadovi: od Jezera rod Jezerovaca; od Heleka rod Helekovaca;
Gilead's descendants were these: Through Iezer, the clan of the Iezerites, through Helek, the clan of the Helekites,
31 od Asriela rod Asrielovaca; od Šekema rod Šekemovaca;
through Asriel, the clan of the Asrielites, through Shechem, the clan of the Shechemites,
32 od Šemide rod Šemidinaca i od Hefera rod Heferovaca.
through Shemida, the clan of the Shemidaites, through Hepher, the clan of the Hepherites.
33 Heferov sin Selofhad nije imao sinova, nego kćeri. Imena Selofhadovih kćeri bila su: Mahla, Noa, Hogla, Milka i Tirsa.
Zelophehad son of Hepher had no sons, but only daughters. The names of his daughters were Mahlah, Noah, Hoglah, Milkah, and Tirzah.
34 To su Manašeovi rodovi. Njih je upisano pedeset i dvije tisuće i sedam stotina.
These were the clans of Manasseh, who numbered 52,700 men.
35 Ovo su opet sinovi Efrajimovi, po svojim rodovima: od Šutelaha rod Šutelahovaca; od Bekera rod Bekerovaca i od Tahana rod Tahanovaca.
The clans of Ephraim's descendants were these: Through Shuthelah, the clan of the Shuthelahites, through Beker, the clan of the Bekerites, through Tahan, the clan of the Tahanites.
36 Ovo su sinovi Šutelahovi: od Erana rod Eranovaca.
The descendants of Shuthelah were, by Eran, the clan of the Eranites.
37 To su rodovi Efrajimovih sinova. Njih je upisano trideset i dvije tisuće i pet stotina. To su sinovi Josipovi, po svojim rodovima.
These were the clans of Ephraim's descendants, who numbered 32,500 men. These were Joseph's descendants, counted in each of their clans.
38 Sinovi Benjaminovi, po svojim rodovima: od Bele rod Belinaca; od Ašbela rod Ašbelovaca; od Ahirama rod Ahiramovaca;
The clans of Benjamin's descendants were these: Through Bela, the clan of the Belaites, through Ashbel, the clan of the Ashbelites, through Ahiram, the clan of the Ahiramites,
39 od Šefufama rod Šefufamovaca i od Hufama rod Hufamovaca.
through Shephupham, the clan of the Shuphamites, through Hupham, the clan of the Huphamites.
40 Belini sinovi bili su: Ard i Naaman. I tako, od Arda rod Ardovaca, a od Naamana rod Naamanovaca.
Bela's sons were Ard and Naaman. From Ard came the clan of the Ardites, and from Naaman came the clan of the Naamites.
41 To su sinovi Benjaminovi, po svojim rodovima. Njih je upisano četrdeset i pet tisuća i šest stotina.
These were the clans of Benjamin's descendants. They numbered 45,600 men.
42 Ovo su sinovi Danovi, po svojim rodovima: od Šuhama rod Šuhamovaca. To su sinovi Danovi, prema svojim rodovima.
The clans of Dan's descendants were, by Shuham, the clans of the Shuhamites. These were the clans of Dan's descendants.
43 Od svih rodova Šuhamovaca bilo je upisano šezdeset i četiri tisuće i četiri stotine.

45 Od sinova Berijinih: od Hebera rod Heberovaca i od Malkiela rod Malkielovaca.
The descendants of Beriah were these: Through Heber, the clan of the Heberites, through Malkiel, the clan of the Malkielites.
46 Ašerovoj kćeri bilo je ime Serah.
The name of Asher's daughter was Serah.
47 To su rodovi Ašerovih sinova. Njih je upisano pedeset i tri tisuće i četiri stotine.
These were the clans of Asher's descendants, who numbered 53,400 men.
48 Sinovi Naftalijevi, po svojim rodovima: od Jahseela rod Jahseelovaca; od Gunija rod Gunijevaca;
The clans of Naphtali's descendants were these: Through Jahzeel, the clan of the Jahzeelites, through Guni, the clan of the Gunites,
49 od Jesera rod Jeserovaca i od Šilema rod Šilemovaca.
through Jezer, the clan of the Jezerites, through Shillem, the clan of the Shillemites.
50 To su rodovi Naftalijevaca. Po njihovim rodovima upisano ih je četrdeset i pet tisuća i četiri stotine.
These were the clans of Naphtali's descendants, who numbered 45,400 men.
51 Bilo je, dakle, upisanih Izraelaca šest stotina i jedna tisuća i sedam stotina i trideset.
This was the complete count of men among the people of Israel: 601,730.
52 Jahve reče Mojsiju:
Yahweh spoke to Moses and said,
53 “Tima neka se razdijeli zemlja u baštinu prema broju osoba.
“The land must be divided among these men as an inheritance according to the number of their names.
54 Većem broju povećaj njegovu baštinu, a manjem smanji njegovu baštinu; neka se svakomu dadne njegova baština prema broju upisanih.
To the larger clans you must give more inheritance, and to the smaller clans you must give less inheritance. To every family you must give an inheritance according to the number of men who were counted.
55 Ali zemlja neka se podijeli kockom: neka se primi u baštinu prema djedovskim plemenskim imenima.
However, the land must be divided by random lots. They must inherit the land as it will be divided among their ancestors' tribes.
56 Baština se ima podijeliti kockom svakom plemenu prema njegovoj veličini.”
Their inheritance must be divided among the larger and the smaller clans, distributed to them by random lot.”
57 Ovo je popis Levijevaca, po njihovim rodovima: od Geršona rod Geršonovaca; od Kehata rod Kehatovaca i od Merarija rod Merarijevaca.
The Levite clans, counted clan by clan, were these: Through Gershon, the clan of the Gershonites, through Kohath, the clan of the Kohathites, through Merari, the clan of the Merarites.
58 Ovo su rodovi Levijevaca: rod Libnijevaca, rod Hebronovaca, rod Mahlijevaca, rod Mušijevaca i rod Korahovaca. Kehatu se rodio Amram.
The clans of Levi were these: the clan of the Libnites, the clan of the Hebronites, the clan of the Mahlites, the clan of the Mushites, and the clan of the Korahites. Kohath was the Amram's ancestor.
59 Amramovoj ženi bijaše ime Jokebeda. Bila je kći Levijeva, koja se Leviju rodila u Egiptu. Ona je Amramu rodila: Arona, Mojsija i njihovu sestru Mirjam.
The name of Amram's wife was Jochebed, a descendant of Levi, who was born to Levites in Egypt. She bore to Amram their children, who were Aaron, Moses, and Miriam their sister.
60 Aronu se rodili: Nadab, Abihu, Eleazar i Itamar.
To Aaron were born Nadab and Abihu, Eleazar and Ithamar.
61 Nadab i Abihu poginuli su kad su prinosili neposvećenu vatru pred Jahvom.
Nadab and Abihu died when they offered before Yahweh unacceptable fire.
62 Svih je popisanih muškaraca od jednog mjeseca pa naviše bilo dvadeset i tri tisuće. Oni nisu bili popisani s Izraelcima i nije im bila dodijeljena baština među Izraelcima.
The males who were counted among them numbered twenty-three thousand, all males one month old and up. But they were not counted among Israel's descendants because no inheritance was given to them among the people of Israel.
63 To su, dakle, oni koje je popisao Mojsije i svećenik Eleazar; oni su obavili ovaj popis Izraelaca uz Jordan, na Moapskim poljanama nasuprot Jerihonu.
These are the ones who were counted by Moses and Eleazar the priest. They counted the people of Israel in the plains of Moab by the Jordan at Jericho.

But among these there was no man who had been counted by Moses and Aaron the priest when the descendants of Israel were counted in the wilderness of Sinai.
65 Jer Jahve bijaše za njih rekao: “Neka pomru u pustinji i neka nitko od njih ne ostane, osim Kaleba, sina Jefuneova, i Jošue, sina Nunova!”
For Yahweh had said that all of those people would certainly die in the wilderness. There was not a man left among them, except Caleb son of Jephunneh and Joshua son of Nun.
