Job 40
1 I Jahve se obrati Jobu i reče mu:
Moreover YHWH answered Job,
2 “Zar će se s Jakim preti još kudilac? Tužitelj Božji nek' sam odgovori!”
"Shall he who argues contend with Shaddai? He who argues with God, let him answer it."
3 A Job odgovori Jahvi i reče:
Then Job answered YHWH,
4 “Odveć sam malen: što da odgovorim? Rukom ću svoja zatisnuti usta.
"Look, I am of small account. What shall I answer you? I lay my hand on my mouth.
5 Riječ rekoh - neću više započeti; rekoh dvije - al' neću nastaviti.”
I have spoken once, and I will not answer; Yes, twice, but I will proceed no further."
6 Nato Jahve odgovori Jobu iz oluje i reče:
Then YHWH answered Job out of the whirlwind,
7 “Bokove svoje opaši k'o junak, ja ću te pitat', a ti me pouči.
"Now brace yourself like a man. I will question you, and you will answer me.
8 Zar bi i moj sud pogaziti htio, okrivio me da sebe opravdaš?
Will you even annul my judgment? Will you condemn me, that you may be justified?
9 Zar ti mišica snagu Božju ima, zar glasom grmjet' možeš poput njega?
Or do you have an arm like God? Can you thunder with a voice like him?
10 Ogrni se sjajem i veličanstvom, dostojanstvom se odjeni i slavom.
"Now deck yourself with excellency and dignity. Array yourself with honor and majesty.
11 Plani dÓe bijesom ognja jarosnoga, pogledom jednim snizi oholnika.
Pour out the fury of your anger. Look at everyone who is proud, and bring him low.
12 Ponositoga pogledaj, slomi ga, na mjestu satri svakoga zlikovca.
Look at everyone who is proud, and humble him. Crush the wicked in their place.
13 U zemlju sve njih zajedno zakopaj, u mračnu ih pozatvaraj tamnicu.
Hide them in the dust together. Bind their faces in the hidden place.
14 Tada ću i ja tebi odat' hvalu što si se svojom desnicom spasio.
Then I will also admit to you that your own right hand can save you.
15 A sada, dÓe promotri Behemota! Travom se hrani poput govečeta,
"Look now at the sauropod, which I made as well as you. He eats grass as an ox.
16 u bedrima je, gle, snaga njegova, a krepkost mu u mišićju trbušnom.
Look now, his strength is in his thighs. His force is in the muscles of his belly.
17 Poput cedra rep podignut ukruti, sva su mu stegna ispreplele žile.
He moves his tail like a cedar. The sinews of his thighs are knit together.
18 Mjedene cijevi kosti su njegove, zglobovi mu od željeza kvrge.
His bones are like tubes of bronze. His limbs are like bars of iron.
19 Prvenac on je Božjega stvaranja; mačem ga je naoružao tvorac.
He is the chief of the ways of God. He who made him gives him his sword.
20 Gore mu danak u hrani donose i sve zvijerje što po njima se igra.
Surely the mountains produce food for him, where all the animals of the field play.
21 Pod lotosom on zavaljen počiva, guštik močvarni i glib kriju ga.
He lies under the lotus trees, in the covert of the reed, and the marsh.
22 Sjenu mu pravi lotosovo lišće, pod vrbama on hladuje potočnim.
The lotuses cover him with their shade. The willows of the brook surround him.
23 Nabuja li rijeka, on ne strahuje: nimalo njega ne bi zabrinulo da mu u žvale i sav Jordan jurne.
Look, if a river overflows, he doesn't tremble. He is confident, though the Jordan swells even to his mouth.
24 Tko bi za oči uhvatio njega i tko bi mu nos sulicom probio?
Shall any take him when he is on the watch, or pierce through his nose with a snare?
