< Job 26 >
Then answered Job, and said,
2 “Kako dobro znadeš pomoći nemoćnom i mišicu iznemoglu poduprijeti!
What assistance hast thou given to the powerless? [how] hast thou helped the arm without strength?
3 Kako dobar savjet daješ neukome; baš si preveliku mudrost pokazao.
How hast thou counselled the unwise? and what sound wisdom hast thou made known so plentifully?
4 Kome li si ove uputio riječi i koji duh je iz tebe govorio?”
To whom hast thou told words? and whose spirit came from thee?
5 Pred Bogom mrtvi pod zemljom dolje strepe, vode morske dršću i nemani njine.
The departed are called into being beneath the waters, and their inhabitants.
6 Pred njegovim okom otkriven zja Šeol i bezdan smrti nema vela na sebi. (Sheol )
Naked is the nether world before him, and there is no covering for the place of corruption. (Sheol )
7 On povrh praznine Sjever razapinje, on drži zemlju o ništa obješenu.
He stretched out the north over empty space; he suspended the earth on nothing;
8 On zatvara vodu u svoje oblake, a oblaci se pod njome ne prodiru.
He bound up the waters in his clouds; and the cloud bursteth not under their weight;
9 On zastire puno lice mjesečevo razastirući svoj oblak preko njega.
He closed up the surface of his throne, spreading over it his cloud;
10 On je na vodi označio kružnicu gdje prestaje svjetlost i tmine počinju.
A fixed limit he compassed off over the face of the waters, for the division of the light and darkness.
11 Svodu se nebeskom potresu stupovi i premru od straha kada on zaprijeti.
The pillars of heaven tremble greatly, and are astounded at his rebuke.
12 Svojom je snagom on ukrotio more i neman Rahaba smrvio mudrošću.
By his power he split in pieces the sea, and by his understanding he crushed [its] pride:
13 Nebesa je svojim razbistrio dahom, a ruka mu je brzu zmiju probola.
By his breath the heavens [acquired] beauty; his hand hath created the flying serpent.
14 Sve to samo djelić je djela njegovih, od kojih tek slabu jeku mi čujemo. Ali tko će shvatit' grom njegove moći?”
Lo, these are ends of his ways; for how slight a whisper is heard [by us] of him! but the thunder of his mighty deeds who can understand?
