Job 18
1 Bildad iz Šuaha progovori tad i reče:
Then Bildad the Shuhite answered, and said,
2 “Kada kaniš obuzdat' svoje besjede? Opameti se sad da razgovaramo!
How long will ye hunt for words? Consider, and afterwards we will speak.
3 Zašto nas držiš za stoku nerazumnu, zar smo životinje u tvojim očima?
Why are we counted as beasts, and have become unclean in your eyes?
4 O ti, koji se od jarosti razdireš, hoćeš li da zemlja zbog tebe opusti da iz svoga mjesta iskoče pećine?
Thou who tear thyself in thine anger, shall the earth be forsaken for thee? Or shall the rock be removed out of its place?
5 Al' ugasit će se svjetlost opakoga, i neće mu sjati plamen na ognjištu.
Yea, the light of the wicked shall be put out, and the spark of his fire shall not shine.
6 Potamnjet će svjetlo u njegovu šatoru i nad njime će se utrnut' svjetiljka.
The light shall be dark in his tent, and his lamp above him shall be put out.
7 Krepki mu koraci postaju sputani, o vlastite on se spotiče namjere.
The steps of his strength shall be restricted, and his own counsel shall cast him down.
8 Jer njegove noge vode ga u zamku, i evo ga gdje već korača po mreži.
For he is cast into a net by his own feet, and he walks upon the toils.
9 Tanka mu je zamka nogu uhvatila, i evo, užeta čvrsto ga pritežu.
A trap shall take him by the heel. A snare shall lay hold on him.
10 Njega vreba omča skrivena na zemlji, njega čeka klopka putem kojim hodi.
A noose is hid for him in the ground, and a trap for him in the way.
11 Odasvuda strahovi ga prepadaju, ustopice sveudilj ga proganjaju.
Terrors shall make him afraid on every side, and shall chase him at his heels.
12 Glad je požderala svu snagu njegovu, nesreća je uvijek o njegovu boku.
His strength shall be weakened by hunger, and calamity shall be ready at his side.
13 Boleština kobna kožu mu razjeda, prvenac mu smrti nagriza udove.
The members of his body shall be devoured. The firstborn of death shall devour his body-parts.
14 Njega izvlače iz šatora njegova da bi ga odveli vladaru strahota.
He shall be rooted out of his tent where he trusts, and he shall be brought to the king of terrors.
15 U njegovu stanu tuđinac stanuje, po njegovu domu prosipaju sumpor.
There shall dwell in his tent that which is none of his. Brimstone shall be scattered upon his habitation.
16 Odozdo se suši njegovo korijenje, a odozgo grane sve mu redom sahnu.
His roots shall be dried up beneath, and above shall his branch be cut off.
17 Spomen će se njegov zatrti na zemlji, njegovo se ime s lica zemlje briše.
His remembrance shall perish from the earth, and he shall have no name in the street.
18 Iz svjetlosti njega u tminu tjeraju, izagnat' ga hoće iz kruga zemaljskog.
He shall be driven from light into darkness, and chased out of the world.
19 U rodu mu nema roda ni poroda, nit' preživjela na njegovu ognjištu.
He shall have neither son nor son's son among his people, nor any remaining where he sojourned.
20 Sudba je njegova Zapad osupnula, i čitav je Istok obuzela strepnja.
Those who come after shall be astonished at his day, as those who went before were frightened.
21 Evo, takav usud snalazi zlikovca i dom onog koji ne priznaje Boga.”
Surely such are the dwellings of the unrighteous, and this is the place of him who does not know God.
