1 Bratoljublje neka je trajno!
Continue in brotherly love.
2 Gostoljublja ne zaboravljajte: njime neki, i ne znajući, ugostiše anđele!
Do not neglect to show hospitality to strangers, for by showing hospitality some have hosted angels without knowing it.
3 Sjećajte se uznika kao suuznici; zlostavljanih - ta i sami ste u tijelu!
Remember those in prison, as though you were in prison with them. Also remember those who are mistreated, as though you yourselves were suffering with them.
4 Ženidba neka bude u časti u sviju i postelja neokaljana! Jer bludnicima će i preljubnicima suditi Bog.
Marriage must be held in honor by all, and the marriage bed must be kept pure, but God will judge fornicators and adulterers.
5 U življenju ne budite srebroljupci, zadovoljni onim što imate! Ta on je rekao: Ne, neću te zapustiti i neću te ostaviti.
Keep your lives free from the love of money, and be content with what you have, for God has said, “I will never leave yoʋ or forsake yoʋ.”
6 Zato možemo pouzdano reći: Gospodin mi je pomoćnik, ja ne strahujem: što mi tko može?
So we can say with confidence, “The Lord is my helper, so I will not fear anything that man might do to me.”
7 Spominjite se svojih glavara koji su vam nevješćivali riječ Božju: promatrajući kraj njihova života, nasljedujte njihovu vjeru.
Remember your leaders, who spoke to you the word of God. Consider the outcome of their conduct, and imitate their faith.
Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever. (aiōn g165)
9 Ne dajte se zanijeti različitim tuđim naucima! Jer bolje je srce utvrđivati milošću nego jelima, koja nisu koristila onima što su ih obdržavali.
Do not be carried away by various kinds of strange teachings, for it is good for the heart to be strengthened by grace, not by regulations about food, which have not benefited those who follow them.
10 Imamo žrtvenik s kojega nemaju pravo jesti služitelji Šatora.
We have an altar from which those who serve in the tabernacle have no right to eat.
11 Jer tijela životinja, kojih krv veliki svećenik unosi za grijeh u Svetinju, spaljuju se izvan tabora.
For the bodies of those beasts whose blood is brought into the holy places by the high priest as an offering for sin are burned outside the camp.
12 Zato i Isus, da bi vlastitom krvlju posvetio narod, trpio je izvan vrata.
So Jesus also suffered outside the city gate in order to sanctify the people by his own blood.
13 Stoga iziđimo k njemu izvan tabora noseći njegovu muku
Therefore let us go to him outside the camp and bear the reproach he endured.
14 jer nemamo ovdje trajna grada, nego onaj budući tražimo.
For here we do not have a lasting city, but we seek the city that is to come.
15 Po njemu dakle neprestano prinosimo Bogu žrtvu hvalbenu, to jest plod usana što ispovijedaju ime njegovo.
Through Jesus, therefore, let us continually offer up a sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of lips that confess his name.
16 Dobrotvornosti i zajedništva ne zaboravljajte jer takve su žrtve mile Bogu!
Do not neglect to do good and to share with others, for such sacrifices are pleasing to God.
17 Poslušni budite svojim glavarima i podložni jer oni bdiju nad vašim dušama kao oni koji će polagati račun; neka to čine s radošću, a ne uzdišući jer vam to ne bi bilo korisno.
Obey your leaders and submit to them, for they keep watch over your souls as those who must give an account. Let them do this with joy and not with groaning, for that would be of no benefit to you.
18 Molite za nas! Uvjereni smo doista da imamo dobru savjest i u svemu se želimo dobro ponašati.
Pray for us, for we are convinced that we have a clear conscience, desiring to live honorably in every way.
19 Usrdnije vas pak molim: učinite to kako bih vam se što brže vratio.
I urge you all the more to do this, so that I may be restored to you more quickly.
20 A Bog mira, koji po krvi vječnoga Saveza od mrtvih izvede velikoga Pastira ovaca, Gospodina našega Isusa, (aiōnios g166)
Now may the God of peace, who by the blood of the eternal covenant brought back from the dead our Lord Jesus, the great Shepherd of the sheep, (aiōnios g166)
21 osposobio vas za svako dobro djelo da vršite volju njegovu, činio u nama što je njemu milo, po Isusu Kristu, komu slava u vijeke vjekova. Amen. (aiōn g165)
equip you in every good work so that you may do his will. May he accomplish in you what is pleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be the glory forever and ever. Amen. (aiōn g165)
22 Molim vas, braćo, podnesite ovu riječ ohrabrenja: ta samo vam ukratko napisah!
Now I urge you, brothers, to bear with this brief word of exhortation that I have written to you.
23 Znajte: naš je brat Timotej oslobođen. Ako uskoro stigne, s njime ću vas pohoditi.
You should know that our brother Timothy has been released. If he comes soon, he will be with me when I see you.
24 Pozdravite sve svoje glavare i sve svete! Pozdravljaju vas ovi iz Italije.
Greet all your leaders and all the saints. Those who are from Italy greet you.
