Ponovljeni zakon 29

1 To su riječi Saveza što ga propisa Jahve Mojsiju da ga sklopi s Izraelcima u zemlji moapskoj, povrh Saveza što ga je s njima sklopio na Horebu.

2 Mojsije sazva sav Izrael pa im reče: “Vidjeli ste na rođene oči sve što je Jahve učinio u zemlji egipatskoj faraonu, svim službenicima njegovim i svoj zemlji njegovoj:

And Moises clepid al Israel, and seide to hem, Ye sien alle thingis whiche the Lord dide bifor you in the lond of Egipt, to Farao and alle hise seruauntis, and to al his lond;

3 velike kušnje što su ih vidjele tvoje oči, silne znakove i čudesa!

the greet temptaciouns whiche thin iyen sien, `tho signes, and grete wondris.

4 Ali vam ne dade Jahve do danas razuma da shvatite, očiju da vidite ni ušiju da čujete.

And the Lord yaf not to you an herte vndurstondynge, and iyen seynge, and eeris that moun here, til in to present dai.

5 Vodio sam vas pustinjom četrdeset godina; odjeća se na vama nije izderala niti su se sandale na vašim nogama raskidale.

6 Kruha niste jeli; vina ni drugoga opojnog pića niste pili, da biste znali da sam ja Jahve, Bog vaš.

7 Kad stigoste na novo mjesto, Sihon, kralj hešbonski, i Og, kralj bašanski, iziđoše pred nas u boj, ali smo ih potukli.

8 Zauzeli smo njihovu zemlju te je predali u baštinu Rubenovcima, Gadovcima i polovini plemena Manašeova.

9 Držite i vršite riječi ovog Saveza da uspijevate u svemu što poduzmete.

10 Danas stojite svi pred Jahvom, Bogom svojim: vaši plemenski glavari, vaše starješine i vaši nadglednici, svi muževi Izraela,

Alle ye stonden to day bifor youre Lord God, youre princes, and lynagis, and the grettere men in birthe, and techeris, al the puple of Israel,

11 djeca vaša, žene vaše i došljak koji je u tvome taboru - od onoga koji ti siječe drva do onoga koji ti nosi vodu -

fre children, and youre wyues, and comelyngis that dwellen with thee in castels, outakun the heweris of stonus, and outakun hem that beren watris;

12 da stupite u Savez s Jahvom, Bogom svojim, u Savez zakletvom potvrđen, što ga Jahve, Bog tvoj, danas s tobom sklapa

that thou go in the boond of pees of thi Lord God, and in the ooth which thi Lord God smytith with thee,

13 da danas od tebe učini svoj narod i da ti on bude Bog, kako ti je rekao i kako se zakleo tvojim ocima: Abrahamu, Izaku i Jakovu.

that he reise thee in to a puple to hym silf, and that he be thi Lord God, as he spak to thee, and as he swoor to thi fadris, to Abraham, Ysaac, and Jacob.

14 I ne sklapam danas ovaj Savez sa zakletvom samo s vama

And not to you aloone Y smyte this loond of pees, and conferme these othis,

15 nego i sa svakim koji danas stoji ovdje s nama pred Jahvom, Bogom našim, i sa svakim koji danas nije ovdje s nama.

but to alle men, present and absent.

16 Sami znate kako smo boravili u zemlji egipatskoj i kako smo prošli posred naroda kroz koje ste morali proći.

For ye witen hou we dwelliden in the lond of Egipt, and how we passiden bi the myddis of naciouns; whiche ye passiden,

17 Vidjeli ste njihove rugobe, njihove kumire od drveta i kamena, srebra i zlata što ih imaju.

18 Neka ne bude među vama čovjeka ni žene, roda ni plemena kojemu bi se srce danas odvratilo od Jahve, Boga našega, pa da ide iskazivati štovanje bogovima onih naroda. Neka ne bude među vama korijena koji rađa otrovom i pelinom.

19 Neka se nitko, čuvši riječi ovog prokletstva, ne nada blagoslovu kazujući u svome srcu: 'Bit će mi dobro ako poživim i po prohtjevima srca svoga. Nek' povodanj utaži žeđ!'

and whanne he hath herd the wordis of this ooth, he blesse hym silf in his herte, and seie, Pees schal be to me, and Y schal go in the schrewidnesse of myn herte; and lest the drunkun take the thirsti,

20 Takvome neće Jahve nikad oprostiti, nego će se gnjev i ljubomornost Jahvina izliti na tog čovjeka, tako da će se sve prokletstvo zapisano u ovoj knjizi na nj oboriti te će Jahve izbrisati ime njegovo pod nebom.

21 Prema svim prokletstvima ovog Saveza, zapisanima u knjizi ovoga Zakona, Jahve će ga odstraniti, na njegovu propast, od svih plemena izraelskih.

22 Kasniji naraštaj, sinovi vaši poslije vas, i stranci koji dođu iz daleke zemlje, kad vide zla ove zemlje i bolesti što će ih Jahve pustiti na nju, reći će:

And the generacioun suynge schal seie, and the sones that schulen be borun aftirward, and pilgrimys that schulen come fro fer, seynge the veniauncis of that lond, and the sikenessis bi whiche the Lord turmentide that lond,

23 'Sva je zemlja njegova samo sumpor i sol; niti se što sije niti što klija; nikakva travka na njoj ne raste; jednaka je srušenoj Sodomi i Gomori, Admi i Sebojimu, što ih Jahve sruši u svojoj ljutini i gnjevu.'

24 I svi će narodi pitati: 'Zašto učini Jahve ovako ovoj zemlji? Kakva je morala biti žestina toga silnoga gnjeva?'

And alle folkis schulen seie, Whi dide the Lord so to this lond? What is the greet ire of his stronge veniaunce?

25 Onda će im se reći: 'Jer su ostavili Savez što ga je Jahve, Bog otaca njihovih, bio sklopio s njima kad ih je izveo iz zemlje egipatske;

and thei schulen answere, For thei forsoken the couenaunt of the Lord, whiche he couenauntide with her fadris, whanne he ledde hem out of the lond of Egipt,

26 i jer su otišli da iskazuju štovanje drugim bogovima i njima se klanjali, bogovima kojih nisu poznavali i kojih im on nije odredio.

and thei serueden alien goddis, and worschipiden hem, whiche thei knewen not, and to whiche thei weren not youun;

27 Zato se Jahvin gnjev izlio na ovu zemlju i palo na nju sve prokletstvo zapisano u ovoj knjizi.

therfor the strong veniaunce of the Lord was wrooth ayens this lond, that he brouyte yn on it alle the cursis that ben writun in this book;

28 Jahve ih je iščupao iz njihove zemlje u ljutini, srdžbi i velikom gnjevu te ih bacio u drugu zemlju. Tako je i danas.'

and he castide hem out of her lond, in ire and strong veniaunce, and in gretteste indignacioun; and he castide forth in to an alien lond, as it is preued to dai.

29 Što je sakriveno, pripada Jahvi, Bogu našemu, a objava nama i sinovima našim zauvijek da vršimo sve riječi ovoga Zakona.
