Ponovljeni zakon 23
1 Neka se u Jahvinu zajednicu ne prima onaj komu je stučena mošnjica ili odrezano udo.
He that is fractured or mutilated in his private parts shall not enter into the assembly of the Lord.
2 Ni mješanac neka se ne prima u Jahvinu zajednicu; neka se njegovi ne primaju u zajednicu Jahvinu ni do desetog koljena.
[One born] of a harlot shall not enter into the assembly of the Lord.
3 Neka ne ulazi u Jahvinu zajednicu ni Amonac ni Moabac; nitko od njihovih, čak ni u deseto koljeno, ne smije nikad u zajednicu Jahvinu.
The Ammanite and Moabite shall not enter into the assembly of the Lord, even until the tenth generation he shall not enter into the assembly of the Lord, even for ever:
4 A sve zato što nisu izašli pred vas s kruhom i vodom kad bijaste na putu izišavši iz Egipta; i što su za novce najmili sina Beorova, Bileama iz Petora u Aram Naharajimu, da te prokune.
because they met you not with bread and water by the way, when ye went out of Egypt; and because they hired against thee Balaam the son of Beor of Mesopotamia to curse thee.
5 Ali Jahve, Bog tvoj, ne htjede uslišati Bileama nego ti Jahve, Bog tvoj, prometnu prokletstvo u blagoslov jer te ljubi Jahve, Bog tvoj.
But the Lord thy God would not hearken to Balaam; and the Lord thy God changed the curses into blessings, because the Lord thy God loved thee.
6 Nikad ne promiči njihovo blagostanje i njihovo dobro u sve dane svoje dovijeka.
Thou shalt not speak peaceably or profitably to them all thy days for ever.
7 Nemoj prezirati Edomca, jer je on brat tvoj. Ne preziri ni Egipćanina, jer si bio došljak u zemlji njegovoj.
Thou shalt not abhor an Edomite, because he is thy brother; thou shalt not abhor an Egyptian, because thou wast a stranger in his land.
8 Njihovi potomci u trećem naraštaju mogu se primiti u Jahvinu zajednicu.
If sons be born to them, in the third generation they shall enter into the assembly of the Lord.
9 Kad pođeš s taborom na svoje neprijatelje, čuvaj se od svakoga zla.
And if thou shouldest go forth to engage with thine enemies, then thou shalt keep thee from every wicked thing.
10 Ako je među tvojima tko postao nečist zbog noćnog izljeva, neka iziđe iz tabora i neka se ne vraća u nj.
If there should be in thee a man who is not clean by reason of his issue by night, then he shall go forth out of the camp, and he shall not enter into the camp.
11 A predvečer neka se u vodi opere te u smiraje može opet u tabor.
And it shall come to pass toward evening he shall wash his body with water, and when the sun has gone down, he shall go into the camp.
12 Imaj izvan tabora mjesto gdje ćeš ići napolje.
And thou shalt have a place outside of the camp, and thou shalt go out thither,
13 Sa svojom opremom nosi i lopaticu: njome ćeš, kad ideš napolje, iskopati rupu i poslije zatrpati svoju nečist.
and thou shalt have a trowel on thy girdle; and it shall come to pass when thou wouldest relieve thyself abroad, that thou shalt dig with it, and shalt bring back the earth and cover thy nuisance.
14 TÓa Jahve, Bog tvoj, ide posred tvoga tabora da te štiti i da ti predaje neprijatelje. Stoga i tvoj tabor treba da bude svet: neka Jahve ne zapazi u tebe ništa nedolično, da se ne bi odvratio od tebe.
Because the Lord thy God walks in thy camp to deliver thee, and to give up thine enemy before thy face; and thy camp shall be holy, and there shall not appear in thee a disgraceful thing, and [so] he shall turn away from thee.
15 Ne smiješ gospodaru izručivati roba koji je od svoga gospodara utekao k tebi.
Thou shalt not deliver a servant to his master, who [coming] from his master attaches himself to thee.
16 Neka boravi s tobom u tvojoj sredini, u mjestu što ga odabere u jednome od tvojih gradova gdje mu se svidi. Nemoj s njime loše postupati.
He shall dwell with thee, he shall dwell among you where he shall please; thou shalt not afflict him.
17 Neka ne bude svetišne bludnice među izraelskim kćerima i neka ne bude svetišnog bludnika među izraelskim sinovima!
There shall not be a harlot of the daughters of Israel, and there shall not be a fornicator of the sons of Israel; there shall not be an idolatress of the daughters of Israel, and there shall not be an initiated person of the sons of Israel.
18 Ne donosi u Dom Jahve, Boga svoga, ni za kakav zavjet bludničine plaće ni pasjeg novca, jer je oboje odvratno Jahvi, Bogu tvome.
Thou shalt not bring the hire of a harlot, nor the price of a dog into the house of the Lord thy God, for any vow; because even both are an abomination to the Lord thy God.
19 Ne traži kamata od svoga brata, niti kamata za novac, niti kamata na jestvine, niti kamata na bilo što gdje se obično traže.
Thou shalt not lend to thy brother on usury of silver, or usury of meat, or usury of any thing which thou mayest lend out.
20 Od tuđinca možeš tražiti kamate, ali ih od svoga brata nemoj tražiti, da ti Jahve, Bog tvoj, udijeli blagoslov u svakom pothvatu tvoje ruke u zemlji u koju ideš da je zaposjedneš.
Thou mayest lend on usury to a stranger, but to thy brother thou shalt not lend on usury; that the Lord thy God may bless thee in all thy works upon the land, into which thou art entering to inherit it.
21 Kad zavjetuješ kakav zavjet Jahvi, Bogu svome, ne oklijevaj da ga ispuniš. Zacijelo će ga Jahve, Bog tvoj, od tebe tražiti; i bio bi ti grijeh.
And if thou wilt vow a vow to the Lord thy God, thou shalt not delay to pay it; for the Lord thy God will surely require it of thee, and [otherwise] it shall be sin in thee.
22 Ako se ne zavjetuješ, neće ti biti grijeh.
But if thou shouldest be unwilling to vow, it is not sin in thee.
23 Ali ispuni ono što prijeđe preko tvojih usana, zavjet koji si svojim ustima slobodno učinio Jahvi, Bogu svome.
Thou shalt observe the words that proceed from between thy lips; and as thou hast vowed a gift to the Lord God, [so] shalt thou do that which thou hast spoken with thy mouth.
24 Ako uđeš u vinograd svoga susjeda, slobodno ti je zobati grožđa do mile volje, ali u svoj sud ne smiješ stavljati.
And if thou shouldest go into the corn field of thy neighbour, then thou mayest gather the ears with thy hands; but thou shalt not put the sickle to thy neighbour's corn.
25 Ako uđeš u žito svoga susjeda, možeš kidati klasove rukom, ali ne smiješ prinositi srpa susjedovu žitu.
And if thou shouldest go into the vineyard of thy neighbour, thou shalt eat grapes sufficient to satisfy thy desire; but thou mayest not put them into a vessel.
