2 Samuelova 10
1 Poslije toga umrije Nahaš, kralj Amonaca, a zakralji se njegov sin Hanun mjesto njega.
And it was after thus and he died [the] king of [the] people of Ammon and he reigned Hanun son his in place his.
2 A David reče u sebi: “Želio bih iskazati ljubav Nahaševu sinu Hanunu, kao što je njegov otac iskazao meni.” Zato David posla svoje sluge da mu izraze sućut zbog njegova oca. Ali kad su Davidove sluge došle u zemlju Amonaca,
And he said David I will do covenant loyalty - with Hanun [the] son of Nahash just as he did father his with me covenant loyalty and he sent David to comfort him by [the] hand of servants his concerning father his and they came [the] servants of David [the] land of [the] people of Ammon.
3 rekoše knezovi Amonaca svome gospodaru Hanunu: “Zar misliš da je David poslao ljude da ti izraze sućut zato što bi htio iskazati čast tvome ocu? Nije li možda zato David poslao svoje ljude k tebi da razvide grad da bi doznao njegovu obranu i potom ga oborio?”
And they said [the] leaders of [the] people of Ammon to Hanun lord their ¿ honoring [is] David father your in view your for he has sent to you comforters ¿ not in order to explore the city and to spy on it and to overthrow it has he sent David servants his to you.
4 Tada Hanun pograbi Davidove sluge, obrija im pola brade i skrati im haljine dopola, sve do zadnjice, i posla ih natrag.
And he took Hanun [the] servants of David and he shaved half of beard their and he cut off robes their at the middle to buttocks their and he sent away them.
5 Kad su to javili Davidu, posla on čovjeka pred njih, jer su ti ljudi bili teško osramoćeni, i poruči im: “Ostanite u Jerihonu dok vam ne naraste brada, pa se onda vratite!”
And people told to David and he sent to meet them for they were the men humiliated very and he said the king remain at Jericho until it will grow back beard your and you will return.
6 Tada Amonci uvidješe da su se omrazili s Davidom; zato Amonci poslaše glasnike da za plaću unajme Aramejce iz Bet Rehoba i Aramejce iz Sobe, dvadeset tisuća pješaka, zatim kralja Maake, tisuću ljudi, i ljude iz Toba, dvanaest tisuća vojnika.
And they saw [the] people of Ammon that they had made themselves odious with David and they sent [the] people of Ammon and they hired Aram Beth Rehob and Aram Zobah twenty thousand foot soldier[s] and [the] king of Maacah one thousand man and [the] man of Tob two [plus] ten thousand man.
7 Kad je David to čuo, posla Joaba s vojskom i izabranim junacima.
And he heard David and he sent Joab and all the army the warriors.
8 Amonci iziđoše i svrstaše se u bojni red pred gradskim vratima, dok su Aramejci iz Sobe i iz Rehoba i ljudi iz Toba i iz Maake stajali zasebno na polju.
And they went out [the] people of Ammon and they deployed battle [the] entrance of the gate and Aram Zobah and Rehob and [the] man of Tob and Maacah to alone them [were] in the open country.
9 Vidjevši postavljene bojne redove prema sebi sprijeda i straga, probra Joab najvrsnije među Izraelcima i svrsta ih prema Aramejcima.
And he saw Joab that it was against him [the] face of the battle from before and from behind and he chose some of all [the] chosen [men] (of Israel *Q(K)*) and he deployed [them] to meet Aram.
10 Ostalu vojsku predade bratu Abišaju da je svrsta prema Amoncima.
And [the] rest of the people he put in [the] hand of Abishai brother his and he deployed [them] to meet [the] people of Ammon.
11 I reče mu: “Ako Aramejci budu jači od mene, onda ti meni priskoči u pomoć; ako Amonci budu jači od tebe, ja ću tebi pohrliti u pomoć.
And he said if it will be [too] strong Aram for me and you will become of me deliverance and if [the] people of Ammon they will be [too] strong for you and I will come to deliver you.
12 Budi hrabar i junački se držimo radi naroda i radi gradova svoga Boga; a Jahve neka učini što je dobro u njegovim očima.”
Be strong so we may show ourselves strong for people our and for [the] cities of God our and Yahweh he will do the good in view his.
13 Tada se Joab i vojska koja je bila s njim počeše primicati da udare na Aramejce, ali oni pobjegoše pred njima.
And he drew near Joab and the people which [was] with him for battle in Aram and they fled from before him.
14 Kad su Amonci vidjeli da su Aramejci pobjegli, umakoše i oni ispred Abišaja i povukoše se u grad. Tada Joab odustane od rata protiv Amonaca i vrati se u Jeruzalem.
And [the] people of Ammon they saw that it had fled Aram and they fled from before Abishai and they went the city and he returned Joab from on [the] people of Ammon and he came Jerusalem.
15 Kad su Aramejci vidjeli gdje su ih Izraelci razbili, sabraše ponovo svoje čete.
And it saw Aram that it was defeated before Israel and they gathered themselves together.
16 Hadadezer posla glasnike i sabra Aramejce što su s one strane rijeke. Ovi dođoše u Helam pod vodstvom Šobaka, vojvode Hadadezerove vojske.
And he sent Hadadezer and he brought out Aram which [was] from [the] other side of the River and they came Helam and Shobach [the] commander of [the] army of Hadadezer [was] before them.
17 Pošto su to javili Davidu, on skupi sve Izraelce i, prešavši preko Jordana, dođe u Helam. Aramejci se svrstaše protiv Davida i zametnuše s njime boj.
And it was told to David. And he gathered all Israel and he passed over the Jordan and he came Helam towards and they deployed Aram to meet David and they did battle with him.
18 Ali Aramejci udariše u bijeg ispred Izraelaca i David im pobi sedam stotina konja od bojnih kola i četrdeset tisuća pješaka; pogubi i njihova vojvodu Šobaka te je ondje umro.
And it fled Aram from before Israel and he killed David of Aram seven hundred charioteer[s] and forty thousand horsemen and Shobach [the] commander of army its he struck down and he died there.
19 A kad svi kraljevi, Hadadezerovi vazali, vidješe da ih je razbio Izrael, sklopiše mir s Izraelom i počeše mu služiti. A Aramejci se više nisu usuđivali pomagati Amoncima.
And they saw all the kings [the] servants of Hadadezer that they were defeated before Israel and they made peace with Israel and they served them and they were afraid Aram to deliver again [the] people of Ammon.
