1 ⲁ̅ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲁϩⲟⲓ̈ⲛⲉ ⲉⲓ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲛ̅ϯⲟⲩⲇⲁⲓⲁ ⲁⲩϯⲥⲃⲱ ⲛ̅ⲛⲉⲥⲛⲏⲩ. ϫⲉ ⲉⲓⲙⲏⲧⲓ ⲛ̅ⲧⲉⲧⲛ̅ⲥⲃ̅ⲃⲉⲧⲏⲩⲧⲛ̅. ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛ̅ⲧⲉⲧⲛ̅ⲙⲟⲟϣⲉ ϩⲙ̅ⲡⲥⲱⲛⲧ̅ ⲙ̅ⲙⲱⲩ̈ⲥⲏⲥ ⲙⲛ̅ϭⲟⲙ ⲙ̅ⲙⲱⲧⲛ̅ ⲉⲟⲩϫⲁⲓ̈.
Some men came down from Judea and taught the brothers, "Unless you are circumcised after the custom of Moses, you cannot be saved."
2 ⲃ̅ ⲛ̅ⲧⲉⲣⲉⲟⲩⲥⲧⲁⲥⲓⲥ ⲇⲉ ϣⲱⲡⲉ ⲙⲛ̅ⲟⲩⲛⲟϭ ⲛ̅ⲍⲏⲧⲏⲥⲓⲥ ⲙ̅ⲡⲁⲩⲗⲟⲥ ⲙⲛ̅ⲃⲁⲣⲛⲁⲃⲁⲥ ⲛⲙ̅ⲙⲁⲩ. ⲁⲩⲧⲉϣⲡⲁⲩⲗⲟⲥ ⲙⲛ̅ⲃⲁⲣⲛⲁⲃⲁⲥ ⲁⲩⲱ ϩⲉⲛⲕⲉⲥⲛⲏⲩ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲛ̅ϩⲏⲧⲟⲩ. ⲉⲧⲣⲉⲩⲃⲱⲕ ϣⲁⲛⲁⲡⲟⲥⲧⲟⲗⲟⲥ ⲙⲛ̅ⲛⲉⲡⲣⲉⲥⲃⲩⲧⲉⲣⲟⲥ ⲉⲧϩⲛ̅ⲑⲓⲗⲏ̅ⲙ̅ ⲉⲧⲃⲉⲡⲉⲓ̈ⲍⲏⲧⲏⲙⲁ.
Therefore when Paul and Barnabas had no small discord and discussion with them, they appointed Paul and Barnabas, and some others of them, to go up to Jerusalem to the emissaries and elders about this question.
3 ⲅ̅ ⲛ̅ⲧⲟⲟⲩ ϭⲉ ⲛ̅ⲧⲉⲣⲟⲩⲑⲡⲟⲟⲩ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲓⲧⲛ̅ⲧⲉⲕⲕⲗⲏⲥⲓⲁ. ⲁⲩⲉⲓ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲓⲧⲛ̅ⲧⲉⲫⲟⲓⲛⲓⲕⲏ ⲙⲛ̅ⲧⲥⲁⲙⲁⲣⲓⲁ. ⲉⲩϫⲱ ⲙ̅ⲡⲉⲕⲧⲟ ⲛ̅ⲛ̅ϩⲉⲑⲛⲟⲥ. ⲁⲩⲱ ⲉⲩⲉⲓⲣⲉ ⲛ̅ⲟⲩⲛⲟϭ ⲛ̅ⲣⲁϣⲉ ϩⲛ̅ⲛⲉⲥⲛⲏⲩ ⲧⲏⲣⲟⲩ.
They, being sent on their way by the congregation, passed through both Phoenicia and Samaria, describing in detail the conversion of the non-Jewish people. They caused great joy to all the brothers.
4 ⲇ̅ ⲛ̅ⲧⲉⲣⲟⲩⲃⲱⲕ ⲇⲉ ⲉϩⲣⲁⲓ̈ ⲉⲑⲓⲉⲣⲟⲩⲥⲟⲗⲩⲙⲁ. ⲁⲩϣⲟⲡⲟⲩ ⲉⲣⲟⲟⲩ ⲉⲙⲁⲧⲉ ⲛ̅ϭⲓⲧⲉⲕⲕⲗⲏⲥⲓⲁ. ⲙⲛ̅ⲛ̅ⲁⲡⲟⲥⲧⲟⲗⲟⲥ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛⲉⲡⲣⲉⲥⲃⲩⲧⲉⲣⲟⲥ. ⲁⲩⲧⲁⲙⲟⲟⲩ ⲇⲉ ⲉⲛⲉⲛⲧⲁⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲁⲁⲩ ⲛⲙ̅ⲙⲁⲩ ϩⲛ̅ⲛ̅ϩⲉⲑⲛⲟⲥ·
When they had come to Jerusalem, they were received by the congregation and the emissaries and the elders, and they reported all things that God had done with them.
5 ⲉ̅ ⲁⲩⲧⲱⲟⲩⲛⲟⲩ ⲇⲉ ⲛ̅ϭⲓϩⲟⲓ̈ⲛⲉ ⲛ̅ⲛⲉⲛⲧⲁⲩⲡⲓⲥⲧⲉⲩⲉ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲛ̅ⲑⲁⲓⲣⲉⲥⲓⲥ ⲛ̅ⲛⲉⲫⲁⲣⲓⲥⲁⲓⲟⲥ ⲉⲩϫⲱ ⲙ̅ⲙⲟⲥ ϫⲉ ϣ̅ϣⲉ ⲉⲣⲟⲟⲩ ⲉⲧⲣⲉⲩⲥⲃ̅ⲃⲏⲧⲟⲩ. ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛ̅ⲥⲉⲡⲁⲣⲁⲅⲅⲓⲗⲉ ⲛⲁⲩ ⲉϩⲁⲣⲉϩ ⲉⲡⲛⲟⲙⲟⲥ ⲙ̅ⲙⲱⲩ̈ⲥⲏⲥ.
But some of the sect of the Pharisees who believed rose up, saying, "It is necessary to circumcise them, and to command them to keep the Law of Moses."
The emissaries and the elders were gathered together to see about this matter.
7 ⲍ̅ ⲛ̅ⲧⲉⲣⲉⲟⲩⲛⲟϭ ⲇⲉ ⲛ̅ⲍⲏⲧⲏⲥⲓⲥ ϣⲱⲡⲉ. ⲁⲡⲉⲧⲣⲟⲥ ⲧⲱⲟⲩⲛ ⲡⲉϫⲁϥ ⲛⲁⲩ ϫⲉ ⲛ̅ⲣⲱⲙⲉ ⲛⲁⲥⲛⲏⲩ. ⲛ̅ⲧⲱⲧⲛ̅ ⲧⲉⲧⲛ̅ⲥⲟⲟⲩⲛ̅ ϫⲉ ϫⲓⲛⲛⲉϩⲟⲟⲩ ⲛ̅ϣⲟⲣⲡ̅. ⲁⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲥⲱⲧⲡ̅ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲓⲧⲛ̅ⲧⲁⲧⲁⲡⲣⲟ ⲉⲧⲣⲉⲛ̅ϩⲉⲑⲛⲟⲥ ⲥⲱⲧⲙ̅ ⲉⲡϣⲁϫⲉ ⲙ̅ⲡⲉⲩⲁⲅⲅⲉⲗⲓⲟⲛ ⲛ̅ⲥⲉⲡⲓⲥⲧⲉⲩⲉ.
When there had been much discussion, Peter rose up and said to them, "Brothers, you know that a good while ago God made a choice among you, that by my mouth the nations should hear the word of the Good News, and believe.
8 ⲏ̅ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲉⲧⲥⲟⲟⲩⲛ̅ ⲛ̅ⲛ̅ϩⲏⲧ ⲁϥⲣ̅ⲙⲛ̅ⲧⲣⲉ. ⲉⲁϥϯ ⲛⲁⲩ ⲙ̅ⲡⲉⲡ̅ⲛ̅ⲁ̅ ⲉⲧⲟⲩⲁⲁⲃ. ⲕⲁⲧⲁⲑⲉ ϩⲱⲱⲛ ⲛ̅ⲧⲁϥⲧⲁⲁϥ ⲛⲁⲛ.
God, who knows the heart, testified about them by giving the Ruach ha-Kodesh, just like he did to us.
He made no distinction between us and them, cleansing their hearts by faith.
10 ⲓ̅ ⲧⲉⲛⲟⲩ ϭⲉ ⲉⲧⲃⲉⲟⲩ ⲧⲉⲧⲛ̅ⲡⲓⲣⲁⲍⲉ ⲙ̅ⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ. ⲉⲟⲩⲉϩⲟⲩⲛⲁϩⲃ̅ ⲉϫⲙ̅ⲡⲙⲁⲕϩ̅ ⲛ̅ⲙ̅ⲙⲁⲑⲏⲧⲏⲥ. ⲡⲁⲓ̈ ⲉⲧⲉⲙ̅ⲡⲉⲛⲉⲛⲉⲓⲟⲧⲉ ⲟⲩⲇⲉ ⲁⲛⲟⲛ ϣϭⲙ̅ϭⲟⲙ ⲉϥⲓ ϩⲁⲣⲟϥ.
Now therefore why do you tempt God, that you should put a yoke on the neck of the talmidim which neither our fathers nor we were able to bear?
But we believe that we are saved through the grace of the Lord Yeshua, just as they are."
12 ⲓ̅ⲃ̅ ⲁⲡⲙⲏⲏϣⲉ ⲧⲏⲣϥ̅ ⲕⲁⲣⲱⲟⲩ. ⲁⲩⲱ ⲁⲩϫⲓⲥⲙⲏ ⲉⲃⲁⲣⲛⲁⲃⲁⲥ ⲙⲛ̅ⲡⲁⲩⲗⲟⲥ. ⲉⲩⲧⲁⲩⲟ ⲛ̅ⲙ̅ⲙⲁⲉⲓⲛ ⲙⲛ̅ⲛⲉϣⲡⲏⲣⲉ ⲛ̅ⲧⲁⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲁⲁⲩ ϩⲛ̅ⲛ̅ϩⲉⲑⲛⲟⲥ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲓⲧⲟⲟⲧⲟⲩ.
And all the people kept quiet, and they listened to Barnabas and Paul reporting what signs and wonders God had done among the nations through them.
After they were silent, Jacob answered, "Brothers, listen to me.
Shim'on has reported how God first visited the nations, to take out of them a people for his name.
This agrees with the words of the prophets. As it is written,
16 ⲓ̅ⲋ̅ ϫⲉ ⲙⲛ̅ⲛ̅ⲥⲁⲛⲁⲓ̈ ϯⲛⲁⲕⲧⲟⲓ̈. ⲧⲁⲕⲱⲧ ⲛ̅ⲧⲉⲥⲕⲩⲛⲏ ⲛ̅ⲇⲁⲩⲉⲓⲇ ⲧⲉⲛⲧⲁⲥϩⲉ. ⲁⲩⲱ ϯⲛⲁⲕⲱⲧ ⲛ̅ⲛⲉⲛⲧⲁⲩϣⲟⲣϣⲣ̅ ⲛ̅ϩⲏⲧⲥ̅. ⲁⲩⲱ ⲧⲁⲧⲁϩⲟⲥ ⲉⲣⲁⲧⲥ̅.
'After these things I will return; and I will rebuild the tabernacle of David that has fallen, and I will rebuild its ruins, and I will restore it,
17 ⲓ̅ⲍ̅ ϫⲉⲕⲁⲥ ⲉⲣⲉⲡⲕⲉⲥⲉⲉⲡⲉ ⲛ̅ⲛ̅ⲣⲱⲙⲉ ϣⲓⲛⲉ ⲛⲥⲁⲡϫⲟⲉⲓⲥ. ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛ̅ϩⲉⲑⲛⲟⲥ ⲧⲏⲣⲟⲩ ⲛ̅ⲧⲁⲩⲉⲡⲓⲕⲁⲗⲉⲓ ⲙ̅ⲡⲁⲣⲁⲛ ⲉϩⲣⲁⲓ̈ ⲉϫⲱⲟⲩ ⲡⲉϫⲉⲡϫⲟⲉⲓⲥ.
that the rest of humanity may seek after the Lord, and all the nations who are called by my name, says the Lord, who makes these things
"Therefore my judgment is that we do not trouble those from among the non-Jewish people who turn to God,
20 ⲕ̅ ⲁⲗⲗⲁ ⲥϩⲁⲓ̈ ⲛⲁⲩ ⲉⲧⲣⲉⲩⲥⲁϩⲱⲟⲩ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲛ̅ⲛ̅ϫⲱϩⲙ̅ ⲛ̅ⲛ̅ⲉⲓⲇⲱⲗⲟⲛ. ⲁⲩⲱ ⲧⲡⲟⲣⲛⲓⲁ ⲙⲛ̅ⲟⲩⲛ̅ⲕⲁ ⲉϥⲙⲟⲟⲩⲧ. ⲁⲩⲱ ⲡⲉⲥⲛⲟϥ. ⲁⲩⲱ ⲡⲉⲧⲉⲛ̅ⲥⲉⲟⲩⲁϣϥ̅ ⲁⲛ ⲉⲧⲣⲉϥϣⲱⲡⲉ ⲙ̅ⲙⲟⲟⲩ ⲉⲧⲙ̅ⲧⲣⲉⲩⲁⲁϥ ⲛ̅ϭⲉ.
but that we write to them that they abstain from things defiled by idols, from sexual immorality, from what is strangled, and from blood.
21 ⲕ̅ⲁ̅ ⲙⲱⲩ̈ⲥⲏⲥ ⲅⲁⲣ ϫⲓⲛⲛ̅ⲅⲉⲛⲉⲁ ⲛ̅ⲛⲁⲣⲭⲁⲓⲟⲛ. ⲟⲩⲛ̅ⲧⲁϥ ⲙ̅ⲙⲁⲩ ⲛ̅ⲛⲉⲧⲕⲩⲣⲏⲥⲥⲉ ⲙ̅ⲙⲟϥ ⲕⲁⲧⲁⲡⲟⲗⲓⲥ. ϩⲣⲁⲓ̈ ϩⲛ̅ⲛ̅ⲥⲩⲛⲁⲅⲱⲅⲏ ⲉⲩⲱϣ ⲙ̅ⲙⲟϥ ⲕⲁⲧⲁⲥⲁⲃⲃⲁⲧⲟⲛ ⲛⲓⲙ.
For Moses from generations of old has in every city those who proclaim him, being read in the synagogues every Sabbath."
22 ⲕ̅ⲃ̅ ⲧⲟⲧⲉ ⲁⲥⲛ̅ⲇⲟⲕⲓ (ⲛ̅)ⲛ̅ⲁⲡⲟⲥⲧⲟⲗⲟⲥ ⲙⲛ̅ⲛⲉⲡⲣⲉⲥⲃⲩⲧⲉⲣⲟⲥ ⲙⲛ̅ⲧⲉⲕⲕⲗⲏⲥⲓⲁ ⲧⲏⲣⲥ̅. ⲉⲧⲣⲉⲩⲥⲱⲧⲡ̅ ⲛ̅ϩⲉⲛⲣⲱⲙⲉ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲛ̅ϩⲏⲧⲟⲩ. ⲛ̅ⲥⲉϫⲟⲟⲩⲥⲉ ⲉϩⲣⲁⲓ̈ ⲉⲧⲁⲛⲧⲓⲟⲭⲓⲁ ⲙⲛ̅ⲡⲁⲩⲗⲟⲥ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲃⲁⲣⲛⲁⲃⲁⲥ ⲉⲧⲉⲓ̈ⲟⲩⲇⲁⲥ ⲡⲉϣⲁⲩⲙⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲉⲣⲟϥ ϫⲉ ⲃⲁⲣⲥⲁⲃⲁⲥ. ⲁⲩⲱ ⲥⲓⲗⲁⲥ ϩⲉⲛⲣⲱⲙⲉ ⲛ̅ⲛⲟϭ ϩⲛ̅ⲛⲉⲥⲛⲏⲩ.
Then it seemed good to the emissaries and the elders, with the whole congregation, to choose men out of their company, and send them to Antioch with Paul and Barnabas: Judah called Barsabbas, and Silas, chief men among the brothers.
23 ⲕ̅ⲅ̅ ⲉⲁⲩⲥϩⲁⲓ̈ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲓⲧⲟⲟⲧⲟⲩ ⲛ̅ⲟⲩⲉⲡⲓⲥⲧⲟⲗⲏ ⲛ̅ⲧⲉⲓ̈ϩⲉ· ⲛⲁⲡⲟⲥⲧⲟⲗⲟⲥ ⲙⲛ̅ⲛⲉⲡⲣⲉⲥⲃⲩⲧⲉⲣⲟⲥ. ⲉⲩⲥϩⲁⲓ̈ ⲛ̅ⲛⲉⲥⲛⲏⲩ ⲉⲧϩⲛ̅ⲧⲁⲛⲧⲓⲟⲭⲓⲁ ⲙⲛ̅ⲧⲥⲩⲣⲓⲁ ⲙⲛ̅ⲧⲕⲩⲗⲓⲕⲓⲁ. ⲛⲉⲧϣⲟⲟⲡ (ⲉⲃⲟⲗ) ϩⲛ̅ⲛ̅ϩⲉⲑⲛⲟⲥ. ⲭⲁⲓⲣⲉⲧⲉ.
They wrote these things by their hand: "The emissaries, the elders, and the brothers, to the non-Jewish brothers who are in Antioch, Syria, and Cilicia: greetings.
24 ⲕ̅ⲇ̅ ⲉⲡⲉⲓⲇⲏ ⲁⲛⲥⲱⲧⲙ̅ ϫⲉ ⲁϩⲟⲓ̈ⲛⲉ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲛ̅ϩⲏⲧⲛ̅ ⲉⲓ ϣⲁⲣⲱⲧⲛ̅ ⲁⲩϣⲧⲣ̅ⲧⲣ̅ⲧⲏⲩⲧⲛ̅ ϩⲛ̅ϩⲉⲛϣⲁϫⲉ ⲉⲩϯⲙ̅ⲕⲁϩ ⲛ̅ⲛⲉⲧⲙ̅ⲯⲩⲭⲏ ⲙ̅ⲡⲛ̅ϩⲱⲛ ⲉⲧⲟⲟⲧⲟⲩ.
Because we have heard that some who went out from us have troubled you with words, unsettling your souls, to whom we gave no commandment;
25 ⲕ̅ⲉ̅ ⲁⲥⲛ̅ⲇⲟⲕⲓ ⲛⲁⲛ ⲉⲁⲛⲉⲓ ⲉⲩⲙⲁ ⲛ̅ⲟⲩⲱⲧ ϩⲓⲟⲩⲥⲟⲡ ⲉⲧⲣⲉⲛⲥⲱⲧⲡ̅ ⲛ̅ϩⲉⲛⲣⲱⲙⲉ ⲛ̅ⲧⲛ̅ⲧⲁⲩⲟⲟⲩ ϣⲁⲣⲱⲧⲛ̅. ⲙⲛ̅ⲛⲉⲛⲙⲉⲣⲁⲧⲉ ⲃⲁⲣⲛⲁⲃⲁⲥ ⲙⲛ̅ⲡⲁⲩⲗⲟⲥ.
it seemed good to us, having come to one accord, to choose out men and send them to you with our beloved Barnabas and Paul,
who have risked their lives for the name of our Lord Yeshua the Messiah.
We have sent therefore Judah and Silas, who themselves will also tell you the same things by word of mouth.
28 ⲕ̅ⲏ̅ ⲁⲥⲛ̅ⲇⲟⲕⲓ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲙ̅ⲡⲉⲡ̅ⲛ̅ⲁ̅ ⲉⲧⲟⲩⲁⲁⲃ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛⲁⲛ. ⲉⲧⲙ̅ⲧⲁⲗⲉⲗⲁⲁⲩ ⲛ̅ⲃⲁⲣⲟⲥ ⲉϫⲛ̅ⲧⲏⲩⲧⲛ̅ ⲛ̅ⲥⲁⲛⲁⲓ̈ ϩⲛ̅ⲟⲩϩⲧⲟⲣ.
For it seemed good to the Ruach ha-Kodesh, and to us, to lay no greater burden on you than these necessary things:
29 ⲕ̅ⲑ̅ ⲉⲥⲁϩⲉⲧⲏⲩⲧⲛ̅ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲙ̅ⲙⲟⲟⲩ ⲛ̅ϣⲱⲱⲧ ⲛ̅ⲛ̅ⲉⲓⲇⲱⲗⲟⲛ ⲙⲛ̅ⲡⲉⲥⲛⲟϥ. ⲙⲛ̅ⲛⲉϣⲁⲩⲙⲟⲩ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲧⲡⲟⲣⲛⲓⲁ. ⲙⲛ̅ⲛⲉⲧⲉⲧⲛ̅ⲟⲩⲁϣⲟⲩ ⲁⲛ ⲉⲧⲣⲉⲩϣⲱⲡⲉ ⲙ̅ⲙⲱⲧⲛ̅ ⲙ̅ⲡⲣ̅ⲁⲁⲩ ⲛ̅ϭⲉ. ⲛⲁⲓ̈ ⲉⲧⲉⲧⲛ̅ϣⲁⲛϩⲁⲣⲉϩ ⲉⲣⲱⲧⲛ̅ ⲉⲣⲟⲟⲩ ⲧⲉⲧⲛⲁⲣ̅ϣⲁⲩ ⲟⲩϫⲁⲓ̈.
that you abstain from things sacrificed to idols, from blood, from things strangled, and from sexual immorality, from which if you keep yourselves, it will be well with you. Farewell."
So, when they were sent off, they came to Antioch, and having gathered the congregation together, they delivered the letter.
When they had read it, they rejoiced over the encouragement.
Judah and Silas, also being prophets themselves, encouraged the brothers with many words, and strengthened them.
After they had spent some time there, they were sent back with greetings from the brothers to those that had sent them forth.
However, Silas decided to remain there.
35 ⲗ̅ⲉ̅ ⲡⲁⲩⲗⲟⲥ ⲇⲉ ⲙⲛ̅ⲃⲁⲣⲛⲁⲃⲁⲥ ⲛⲉⲩϣⲟⲟⲡ ⲡⲉ ϩⲛⲧⲁⲛⲧⲓⲟⲭⲓⲁ. ⲉⲩϯⲥⲃⲱ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲉⲩⲉⲩⲁⲅⲅⲉⲗⲓⲍⲉ ⲙⲛ̅ϩⲉⲛⲕⲉⲙⲏⲏϣⲉ ⲙ̅ⲡϣⲁϫⲉ ⲙ̅ⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ.
And Paul and Barnabas stayed in Antioch, teaching and proclaiming the word of the Lord, with many others also.
36 ⲗ̅ⲋ̅ ⲙⲛ̅ⲛ̅ⲥⲁϩⲉⲛϩⲟⲟⲩ ⲇⲉ ⲡⲉϫⲉⲡⲁⲩⲗⲟⲥ ⲛ̅ⲃⲁⲣⲛⲁⲃⲁⲥ ϫⲉ ⲙⲁⲣⲛ̅ⲕⲟⲧⲛ̅ ⲛ̅ⲧⲛ̅ϭⲙ̅ⲡϣⲓⲛⲉ ⲛ̅ⲛⲉⲥⲛⲏⲩ ⲕⲁⲧⲁⲡⲟⲗⲓⲥ ⲛⲓⲙ. ⲛⲁⲓ̈ ⲛ̅ⲧⲁⲛⲧⲁϣⲉⲟⲉⲓϣ ⲛⲁⲩ ⲙ̅ⲡϣⲁϫⲉ ⲙ̅ⲡϫⲟⲉⲓⲥ ϫⲉ ⲥⲉⲣⲟⲩ.
After some days Paul said to Barnabas, "Let us return now and visit our brothers in every city in which we proclaimed the word of the Lord, to see how they are doing."
Barnabas planned to take John, who was called Mark, with them also.
But Paul did not think that it was a good idea to take with them someone who had withdrawn from them in Pamphylia, and did not go with them to do the work.
39 ⲗ̅ⲑ̅ ⲁⲩⲡⲁⲣⲟⲝⲩⲥⲙⲟⲥ ⲇⲉ ϣⲱⲡⲉ. ϩⲱⲥⲧⲉ ⲛ̅ⲥⲉⲥⲁϩⲱⲟⲩ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲛ̅ⲛⲉⲩⲉⲣⲏⲩ. ⲃⲁⲣⲛⲁⲃⲁⲥ ⲙⲉⲛ ⲁϥϫⲓ ⲙ̅ⲙⲁⲣⲕⲟⲥ ⲁϥⲥϭⲏⲣ ⲉϩⲣⲁⲓ̈ ⲉⲕⲩⲡⲣⲟⲥ.
Then the contention grew so sharp that they separated from each other. Barnabas took Mark with him, and sailed away to Cyprus,
but Paul chose Silas, and went out, being commended by the brothers to the grace of the Lord.
He went through Syria and Cilicia, strengthening the congregations.
