1 ⲁ̅ ⲉϥⲛⲏⲩ ⲇⲉ ⲉⲡⲉⲥⲏⲧ ϩⲓⲡⲧⲟⲟⲩ ⲁⲩⲟⲩⲁϩⲟⲩ ⲛⲥⲱϥ ⲛϭⲓ ϩⲉⲛⲙⲏⲏϣⲉ ⲉⲛⲁϣⲱⲟⲩ
When Jesus had come down from the hill, great crowds followed him.
2 ⲃ̅ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲉⲓⲥ ϩⲏⲏⲧⲉ ⲉⲓⲥ ⲟⲩⲁ ⲉϥⲥⲟⲃϩ ⲁϥϯ ⲡⲉϥⲟⲩⲟⲓ ⲉⲣⲟϥ ⲁϥⲟⲩⲱϣⲧ ⲛⲁϥ ⲉϥϫⲱ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ϫⲉ ⲡϫⲟⲉⲓⲥ ⲉⲕϣⲁⲛⲟⲩⲱϣ ⲟⲩⲛϣϭⲟⲙ ⲙⲙⲟⲕ ⲉⲧⲃⲃⲟⲓ
He saw a leper who came up, and bowed to the ground before him, and said, “Master, if only you are willing, you are able to make me clean.”
3 ⲅ̅ ⲁϥⲥⲟⲟⲩⲧⲛ ⲇⲉ ⲛⲧⲉϥϭⲓϫ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲁϥϫⲱϩ ⲉⲣⲟϥ ⲉϥϫⲱ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ϫⲉ ϯ ⲟⲩⲱϣ ⲧⲃⲃⲟ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛⲧⲉⲩⲛⲟⲩ ⲁϥⲧⲃⲃⲟ ⲛϭⲓ ⲡⲉϥⲥⲱⲃϩ
Stretching out his hand, Jesus touched him, saying as he did so, “I am willing; become clean.” Instantly he was made clean from his leprosy;
4 ⲇ̅ ⲡⲉϫⲁϥ ⲛⲁϥ ⲛϭⲓ ⲓⲏⲥ ϫⲉ ϭⲱϣⲧ ⲙⲡⲣϫⲟⲟⲥ ⲉⲗⲁⲁⲩ ⲁⲗⲗⲁ ⲃⲱⲕ ⲛⲅⲧⲟⲩⲟⲕ ⲉⲡⲟⲩⲏⲏⲃ ⲛⲅⲧⲁⲗⲟ ⲉϩⲣⲁⲓ ⲙⲡⲉⲕⲇⲱⲣⲟⲛ ⲕⲁⲧⲁ ⲑⲉ ⲛⲧⲁϥⲟⲩⲉϩⲥⲁϩⲛⲉ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ⲛϭⲓ ⲙⲱⲩⲥⲏⲥ ⲉⲩⲙⲛⲧⲙⲛⲧⲣⲉ ⲛⲁⲩ
and then Jesus said to him, “Be careful not to say a word to anyone, but go and show yourself to the priest, and offer the gift directed by Moses, as evidence of your cure.”
5 ⲉ̅ ⲛⲧⲉⲣⲉϥⲃⲱⲕ ⲇⲉ ⲉϩⲟⲩⲛ ⲉⲕⲁⲫⲁⲣⲛⲁⲟⲩⲙ ⲁϥϯ ⲡⲉϥⲟⲩⲟⲓ ⲉⲣⲟϥ ⲛϭⲓ ⲟⲩϩⲉⲕⲁⲧⲟⲛⲧⲁⲣⲭⲟⲥ ⲉϥⲡⲁⲣⲁⲕⲁⲗⲉⲓ ⲙⲙⲟϥ
After Jesus had entered Capernaum, a centurion in the Roman army came up to him, entreating his help.
6 ⲋ̅ ⲉϥϫⲱ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ϫⲉ ⲡϫⲟⲉⲓⲥ ⲡⲁϣⲏⲣⲉ ⲛⲏϫ ϩⲣⲁⲓ ϩⲙ ⲡⲁⲏⲓ ⲉϥⲥⲏϭ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲉϥⲃⲁⲥⲁⲛⲓⲍⲉ ⲉⲙⲁⲧⲉ
“Sir,” he said, “my manservant is lying ill at my house with a stroke of paralysis, and is suffering terribly.”
7 ⲍ̅ ⲡⲉϫⲁϥ ⲛⲁϥ ⲛϭⲓ ⲓⲏⲥ ϫⲉ ⲁⲛⲟⲕ ϯⲛⲏⲩ ⲧⲁⲣⲡⲁϩⲣⲉ ⲉⲣⲟϥ
“I will come and cure him,” answered Jesus.
8 ⲏ̅ ⲁϥⲟⲩⲱϣⲃ ⲇⲉ ⲛϭⲓ ⲡϩⲉⲕⲁⲧⲟⲛⲧⲁⲣⲭⲟⲥ ⲉϥϫⲱ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ϫⲉ ⲡϫⲟⲉⲓⲥ ⲛϯⲙⲡϣⲁ ⲁⲛ ϫⲉⲕⲁⲥ ⲉⲕⲉⲉⲓ ⲉϩⲟⲩⲛ ϩⲁⲧⲁⲟⲩⲉϩⲥⲟⲓ ⲁⲗⲗⲁ ⲁϫⲓⲥ ⲙⲙⲁⲧⲉ ϩⲙ ⲡϣⲁϫⲉ ⲁⲩⲱ ϥⲛⲁⲗⲟ
“Sir,” the centurion went on, “I am unworthy to receive you under my roof; but only speak, and my manservant will be cured.
9 ⲑ̅ ⲕⲁⲓ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲁⲛⲟⲕ ⲁⲛⲅⲟⲩⲣⲱⲙⲉ ⲉⲓϣⲟⲟⲡ ϩⲁⲟⲩⲉⲝⲟⲩⲥⲓⲁ ⲉⲣⲉϩⲉⲛⲙⲁⲧⲟⲓ ϣⲟⲟⲡ ϩⲁⲣⲁⲧ ϣⲁⲓϫⲟⲟⲥ ⲙⲡⲁⲓ ϫⲉ ⲃⲱⲕ ⲁⲩⲱ ϣⲁϥⲃⲱⲕ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲕⲉⲟⲩⲁ ϫⲉ ⲁⲙⲟⲩ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛϥⲉⲓ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲡⲁϩⲙϩⲁⲗ ϫⲉ ⲁⲣⲓⲡⲁⲓ ⲛϥⲁⲁϥ
For I myself am a man under the orders of others, with soldiers under me; and, if I say to one of them ‘Go,’ he goes, and to another ‘Come,’ he comes, and to my slave ‘Do this,’ he does it.”
10 ⲓ̅ ⲁϥⲥⲱⲧⲙ ⲇⲉ ⲛϭⲓ ⲓⲏⲥ ⲁϥⲣϣⲡⲏⲣⲉ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲡⲉϫⲁϥ ⲛⲛⲉⲧⲟⲩⲏϩ ⲛⲥⲱϥ ϫⲉ ϩⲁⲙⲏⲛ ϯϫⲱ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ⲛⲏⲧⲛ ϫⲉ ⲙⲡⲉⲓϩⲉ ⲉⲡⲓⲥⲧⲓⲥ ⲛⲧⲉⲓϭⲟⲧ ⲛⲧⲛⲗⲁⲁⲩ ϩⲙ ⲡⲓⲥⲣⲁⲏⲗ
Jesus was surprised to hear this, and said to those who were following him, “Never I tell you, in any Israelite have I met with such faith as this!
11 ⲓ̅ⲁ̅ ϯϫⲱ ⲇⲉ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ⲛⲏⲧⲛ ϫⲉ ⲟⲩⲛϩⲁϩ ⲛⲏⲩ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲛ ⲛⲉⲙⲁ ⲛϣⲁ ⲙⲛ ⲙⲙⲁⲛϩⲱⲧⲛ ⲛⲥⲉⲛⲟϫⲟⲩ ⲙⲛ ⲁⲃⲣⲁϩⲁⲙ ⲙⲛ ⲓⲥⲁⲁⲕ ⲙⲛ ⲓⲁⲕⲱⲃ ϩⲣⲁⲓ ϩⲛ ⲧⲙⲛⲧⲣⲣⲟ ⲛⲙⲡⲏⲩⲉ
Yes, and many will come in from East and West and take their places beside Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, in the kingdom of heaven;
12 ⲓ̅ⲃ̅ ⲛϣⲏⲣⲉ ⲇⲉ ⲛⲧⲙⲛⲧⲣⲣⲟ ⲥⲉⲛⲁⲛⲟϫⲟⲩ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲉⲡⲕⲁⲕⲉ ⲉⲧϩⲓⲃⲟⲗ ⲉϥⲛⲁϣⲱⲡⲉ ⲙⲙⲁⲩ ⲛϭⲓ ⲡⲣⲓⲙⲉ ⲙⲛ ⲡϭⲁϩϭϩ ⲛⲛⲟⲃϩⲉ
while the heirs to the kingdom will be banished into the darkness outside; there, there will be weeping and grinding of teeth.”
13 ⲓ̅ⲅ̅ ⲡⲉϫⲁϥ ⲛϭⲓ ⲓⲏⲥ ⲙⲡϩⲉⲕⲁⲧⲟⲛⲧⲁⲣⲭⲟⲥ ϫⲉ ⲃⲱⲕ ⲛⲑⲉ ⲛⲧⲁⲕⲡⲓⲥⲧⲉⲩⲉ ⲙⲁⲣⲉⲥϣⲱⲡⲉ ⲛⲁⲕ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲁϥⲗⲟ ⲛϭⲓ ⲡⲉϥϣⲏⲣⲉ ϫⲓⲛ ⲧⲉⲩⲛⲟⲩ ⲉⲧⲙⲙⲁⲩ
Then Jesus said to the centurion, “Go now, and it will be according to your faith.” And the man was cured that very hour.
14 ⲓ̅ⲇ̅ ⲁϥⲉⲓ ⲇⲉ ⲛϭⲓ ⲓⲏⲥ ⲉϩⲣⲁⲓ ⲉⲡⲏⲓ ⲙⲡⲉⲧⲣⲟⲥ ⲁϥⲛⲁⲩ ⲉⲧⲉϥϣⲱⲙⲉ ⲉⲥⲛⲏϫ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲉⲥϩⲏⲙ
When Jesus went into Peter’s house, he saw Peter’s mother-in-law prostrated with fever.
15 ⲓ̅ⲉ̅ ⲁϥϫⲱϩ ⲇⲉ ⲉⲧⲉⲥϭⲓϫ ⲁϥⲕⲁⲁⲥ ⲛϭⲓ ⲡⲉϩⲙⲟⲙ ⲁⲥⲧⲱⲟⲩⲛ ⲁⲥⲇⲓⲁⲕⲟⲛⲉⲓ ⲛⲁϥ
On his taking her hand, the fever left her, and she rose and began to take care of him.
16 ⲓ̅ⲋ̅ ⲣⲟⲩϩⲉ ⲇⲉ ⲛⲧⲉⲣⲉϥϣⲱⲡⲉ ⲁⲩⲉⲓⲛⲉ ⲛⲁϥ ⲛϩⲁϩ ⲉⲩⲟ ⲛⲇⲁⲓⲙⲱⲛⲓⲟⲛ ⲁϥⲛⲟⲩϫⲉ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲛⲛⲉⲡⲛⲁ ⲛⲁⲕⲁⲑⲁⲣⲧⲟⲛ ϩⲙ ⲡϣⲁϫⲉ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲁϥⲣⲡⲁϩⲣⲉ ⲉⲟⲩⲟⲛ ⲛⲓⲙ ⲉⲧⲙⲟⲕϩ
In the evening the people brought to Jesus many who were possessed by demons; and he drove out the spirits with a word, and cured all who were ill,
17 ⲓ̅ⲍ̅ ϫⲉⲕⲁⲥ ⲉϥⲉϫⲱⲕ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲛϭⲓ ⲡⲉⲛⲧⲁⲩϫⲟⲟϥ ϩⲓⲧⲛ ⲏⲥⲁⲓⲁⲥ ⲡⲉⲡⲣⲟⲫⲏⲧⲏⲥ ⲉϥϫⲱ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ϫⲉ ⲛⲧⲟϥ ⲡⲉⲛⲧⲁϥϫⲓ ⲛⲛϣⲱⲛⲉ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲁϥⲧⲱⲟⲩⲛ ϩⲁⲛⲉⲛⲗⲟϫⲗⲉϫ
in fulfillment of these words in the prophet Isaiah – ‘He took our infirmities on himself, and bore the burden of our diseases.’
18 ⲓ̅ⲏ̅ ⲛⲧⲉⲣⲉϥⲛⲁⲩ ⲇⲉ ⲛϭⲓ ⲓⲏⲥ ⲉⲩⲙⲏⲏϣⲉ ⲙⲡⲉϥⲕⲱⲧⲉ ⲁϥⲟⲩⲉϩⲥⲁϩⲛⲉ ⲉⲃⲱⲕ ⲉⲡⲉⲓⲕⲣⲟ
Seeing a crowd around him, Jesus gave orders to go across.
19 ⲓ̅ⲑ̅ ⲁϥϯ ⲡⲉϥⲟⲩⲟⲓ ⲉⲣⲟϥ ⲛϭⲓ ⲟⲩⲅⲣⲁⲙⲙⲁⲧⲉⲩⲥ ⲡⲉϫⲁϥ ⲛⲁϥ ϫⲉ ⲡⲥⲁϩ ⲧⲁⲟⲩⲁϩⲧ ⲛⲥⲱⲕ ⲉⲡⲙⲁ ⲉⲧⲉⲕⲛⲁⲃⲱⲕ ⲉⲣⲟϥ
A teacher of the Law came up to him, and said, “Teacher, I will follow you wherever you go.”
20 ⲕ̅ ⲡⲉϫⲁϥ ⲛⲁϥ ⲛϭⲓ ⲓⲏⲥ ϫⲉ ⲛⲃⲁϣⲟⲣ ⲟⲩⲛⲧⲁⲩ ⲛⲉⲩⲃⲏⲃ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛϩⲁⲗⲁⲁⲧⲉ ⲛⲧⲡⲉ ⲟⲩⲛⲧⲁⲩ ⲛⲉⲩⲙⲁϩ ⲡϣⲏⲣⲉ ⲇⲉ ⲙⲡⲣⲱⲙⲉ ⲙⲛⲧϥⲙⲁ ⲛⲣⲉⲕⲧⲧⲉϥⲁⲡⲉ
“Foxes have holes,” answered Jesus, “and wild birds their nests, but the Son of Man has nowhere to lay his head.”
21 ⲕ̅ⲁ̅ ⲕⲉⲟⲩⲁ ⲇⲉ ⲛⲙⲙⲁⲑⲏⲧⲏⲥ ⲡⲉϫⲁϥ ⲛⲁϥ ϫⲉ ⲡϫⲟⲉⲓⲥ ⲟⲩⲉϩⲥⲁϩⲛⲉ ⲛⲁⲓ ⲛϣⲟⲣⲡ ⲧⲁⲃⲱⲕ ⲧⲁⲧⲱⲙⲥ ⲙⲡⲁⲉⲓⲱⲧ
“Master,” said another, who was a disciple, “let me first go and bury my father.”
22 ⲕ̅ⲃ̅ ⲡⲉϫⲁϥ ⲇⲉ ⲛⲁϥ ⲛϭⲓ ⲓⲏⲥ ϫⲉ ⲟⲩⲁϩⲕ ⲛⲥⲱⲓ ⲛⲅⲕⲱ ⲛⲛⲉⲧⲙⲟⲟⲩⲧ ⲉⲧⲱⲙⲥ ⲛⲛⲉⲩⲣⲉϥⲙⲟⲟⲩⲧ
But Jesus answered, “Follow me, and leave the dead to bury their dead.”
23 ⲕ̅ⲅ̅ ⲛⲧⲉⲣⲉϥⲁⲗⲉ ⲇⲉ ⲉⲡϫⲟⲓ ⲁⲩⲟⲩⲁϩⲟⲩ ⲛⲥⲱϥ ⲛϭⲓ ⲛⲉϥⲙⲁⲑⲏⲧⲏⲥ
Then he got into the boat, followed by his disciples.
24 ⲕ̅ⲇ̅ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲉⲓⲥ ϩⲏⲏⲧⲉ ⲉⲓⲥ ⲟⲩⲛⲟϭ ⲛⲕⲙⲧⲟ ⲁϥϣⲱⲡⲉ ϩⲛ ⲑⲁⲗⲁⲥⲥⲁ ϩⲱⲥⲧⲉ ⲉⲧⲣⲉⲡϫⲟⲓ ϩⲱⲃⲥ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲓⲧⲛ ⲛϩⲓⲙⲏ ⲛⲧⲟϥ ⲇⲉ ⲛⲉϥⲛⲕⲟⲧⲕ ⲡⲉ
Suddenly so great a storm came up on the sea, that the waves broke right over the boat. But Jesus was asleep;
25 ⲕ̅ⲉ̅ ⲁⲩϯⲡⲉⲩⲟⲩⲟⲓ ⲉⲣⲟϥ ⲁⲩⲧⲟⲩⲛⲟⲥϥ ⲉⲩϫⲱ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ϫⲉ ⲡϫⲟⲉⲓⲥ ⲙⲁⲧⲁⲛϩⲟⲛ ϫⲉ ⲧⲛⲛⲁⲃⲱⲕ
and the disciples came and roused him. “Master,” they cried, “save us; we are lost!”
26 ⲕ̅ⲋ̅ ⲡⲉϫⲁϥ ⲛⲁⲩ ϫⲉ ⲁϩⲣⲱⲧⲛ ⲧⲉⲧⲛⲣ ϩⲟⲧⲉ ⲛⲁⲧⲕⲟⲩⲓ ⲙⲡⲓⲥⲧⲓⲥ ⲧⲟⲧⲉ ⲁϥⲧⲱⲟⲩⲛ ⲁϥⲉⲡⲓⲧⲓⲙⲁ ⲛⲛⲧⲏⲩ ⲙⲛ ⲑⲁⲗⲁⲥⲥⲁ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲁⲥϣⲱⲡⲉ ⲛϭⲓ ⲟⲩⲛⲟϭ ⲛϫⲁⲙⲏ
“Why are you so timid?” he said. “You of little faith!” Then Jesus rose and rebuked the winds and the sea, and a great calm followed.
27 ⲕ̅ⲍ̅ ⲛⲣⲱⲙⲉ ⲇⲉ ⲁⲩⲣϣⲡⲏⲣⲉ ⲉⲩϫⲱ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ϫⲉ ⲟⲩⲁϣ ⲙⲙⲓⲛⲉ ⲡⲉ ⲡⲁⲓ ϫⲉ ⲛⲧⲏⲩ ⲙⲛ ⲑⲁⲗⲁⲥⲥⲁ ⲥⲱⲧⲙ ⲛⲥⲱϥ
The men were amazed, and exclaimed, “What kind of man is this, that even the winds and the sea obey him!”
28 ⲕ̅ⲏ̅ ⲛⲧⲉⲣⲉϥⲉⲓ ⲇⲉ ⲉⲡⲉⲕⲣⲟ ⲉⲧⲉⲭⲱⲣⲁ ⲛⲛⲅⲉⲣⲁⲍⲏⲛⲟⲥ ⲁⲩⲧⲱⲙⲛⲧ ⲉⲣⲟϥ ⲛϭⲓ ⲣⲱⲙⲉ ⲥⲛⲁⲩ ⲉⲣⲉϩⲉⲛⲣⲉϥϣⲟⲟⲣ ϩⲓⲱⲟⲩ ⲉⲩⲛⲏⲩ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲛ ⲛⲉⲙϩⲁⲁⲩ ⲉⲩⲛⲁϣⲧ ⲉⲙⲁⲧⲉ ϩⲱⲥⲧⲉ ⲉⲧⲙⲧⲣⲉⲗⲁⲁⲩ ⲉϣⲉⲓ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲛ ⲧⲉϩⲓⲏ ⲉⲧⲙⲙⲁⲩ
On getting to the other side – the region of the Gadarenes – Jesus met two men who were possessed by demons, coming out of the tombs. They were so violent that no one was able to pass that way.
29 ⲕ̅ⲑ̅ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲉⲓⲥ ϩⲏⲏⲧⲉ ⲁⲩϫⲓϣⲕⲁⲕ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲉⲩϫⲱ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ϫⲉ ⲉⲕⲟⲩⲉϣⲟⲩ ⲛⲙⲙⲁⲛ ⲓⲏⲥ ⲡϣⲏⲣⲉ ⲙⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲛⲧⲁⲕⲉⲓ ⲉⲡⲉⲓⲙⲁ ⲉⲃⲁⲥⲁⲛⲓⲍⲉ ⲙⲙⲟⲛ ϩⲁⲑⲏ ⲙⲡⲉⲩⲟⲉⲓϣ
Suddenly they shrieked out, “What do you want with us, Son of God? Have you come here to torment us before our time?”
30 ⲗ̅ ⲛⲉⲩⲛⲟⲩⲁⲅⲉⲗⲏ ⲇⲉ ⲛⲣⲓⲣ ⲉⲛⲁϣⲱⲟⲩ ⲟⲩⲏⲩ ⲙⲙⲟⲟⲩ ⲉⲩⲙⲟⲟⲛⲉ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ
A long way off, there was a herd of many pigs, feeding;
31 ⲗ̅ⲁ̅ ⲛⲣⲉϥϣⲟⲟⲣ ⲇⲉ ⲁⲩⲥⲡⲥⲱⲡϥ ⲉⲩϫⲱ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ϫⲉ ⲉϣϫⲉ ⲕⲛⲁⲛⲟϫⲛ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲙⲁϫⲟⲟⲩⲛ ⲉϩⲟⲩⲛ ⲉⲧⲁⲅⲉⲗⲏ ⲛⲉϣⲁⲩ
and the foul spirits began begging Jesus, “If you drive us out, send us into the herd of pigs.”
32 ⲗ̅ⲃ̅ ⲡⲉϫⲁϥ ⲛⲁⲩ ϫⲉ ⲃⲱⲕ ⲛⲧⲟⲟⲩ ⲇⲉ ⲁⲩⲉⲓ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲁⲩⲃⲱⲕ ⲉϩⲟⲩⲛ ⲉⲛⲉϣⲁⲩ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲉⲓⲥ ϩⲏⲏⲧⲉ ⲁⲥϯⲡⲉⲥⲟⲩⲟⲓ ⲛϭⲓ ⲧⲁⲅⲉⲗⲏ ⲧⲏⲣⲥ ⲉϩⲣⲁⲓ ⲉϫⲛ ⲧϣⲱⲙⲉ ⲉⲡⲉⲥⲏⲧ ⲉⲑⲁⲗⲁⲥⲥⲁ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲁⲩⲙⲟⲩ ϩⲣⲁⲓ ϩⲛ ⲙⲙⲟⲟⲩ
“Go,” he said. The spirits came out, and entered the pigs; and the whole herd rushed down the steep slope into the sea, and died in the water.
33 ⲗ̅ⲅ̅ ⲛⲉⲧⲙⲟⲟⲛⲉ ⲇⲉ ⲙⲙⲟⲟⲩ ⲁⲩⲡⲱⲧ ⲁⲩⲃⲱⲕ ⲉϩⲣⲁⲓ ⲉⲧⲡⲟⲗⲓⲥ ⲁⲩϫⲱ ⲛϩⲱⲃ ⲛⲓⲙ ⲙⲛ ⲛⲁⲛⲉⲧⲟ ⲛⲇⲁⲓⲙⲱⲛⲓⲟⲛ
At this the men who tended them ran away and went to the town, carrying the news of all that had occurred, and of what had happened to the possessed men.
34 ⲗ̅ⲇ̅ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲉⲓⲥ ϩⲏⲏⲧⲉ ⲉⲓⲥ ⲧⲡⲟⲗⲓⲥ ⲧⲏⲣⲥ ⲁⲥⲉⲓ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲉⲧⲱⲙⲛⲧ ⲉⲓⲏⲥ ⲛⲧⲉⲣⲟⲩⲛⲁⲩ ⲇⲉ ⲉⲣⲟϥ ⲁⲩⲥⲡⲥⲱⲡϥ ϫⲉⲕⲁⲥ ⲉϥⲉⲡⲱⲱⲛⲉ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲛ ⲛⲉⲩⲧⲟϣ
At the news the whole town went out to meet Jesus, and, when they saw him, they entreated him to go away from their region.
