1 ⲁ̅ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲁⲩⲙⲟⲟϣⲉ ⲉⲡⲉⲕⲣⲟ ⲛⲧⲉⲑⲁⲗⲁⲥⲥⲁ ⲉⲧⲉⲭⲱⲣⲁ ⲛⲛⲅⲉⲣⲁⲥⲏⲛⲟⲥ
Then they crossed the sea, and came into the country of the Gadarenes.
2 ⲃ̅ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛⲧⲉⲣⲉϥⲫⲱϭⲉ ⲉⲡⲉⲕⲣⲟ ⲛⲧⲉⲩⲛⲟⲩ ⲁϥⲧⲱⲙⲛⲧ ⲉⲣⲟϥ ⲛϭⲓ ⲟⲩⲣⲱⲙⲉ ⲉϥⲛⲏⲩ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲛ ⲛⲉⲙϩⲁⲟⲩ ⲉⲣⲉⲟⲩⲡⲛⲁ ⲛⲁⲕⲁⲑⲁⲣⲧⲟⲛ ⲛⲙⲙⲁϥ
He was no sooner gone ashore, than there met him a man coming from the monuments, possessed of an unclean spirit,
3 ⲅ̅ ⲉϥϣⲟⲟⲡ ϩⲛ ⲛⲉⲙϩⲁⲟⲩ ⲉⲙⲡⲉϣⲗⲁⲁⲩ ϭⲉ ϭⲙϭⲟⲙ ⲉⲙⲟⲣϥ ϩⲛ ϩⲁⲗⲩⲥⲓⲥ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ
who made his abode in the tombs; and no man could confine him, not even with chains,
4 ⲇ̅ ϫⲉ ⲁⲩⲙⲟⲣϥ ⲛϩⲁϩ ⲛⲥⲟⲡ ⲛϩⲉⲛⲡⲁⲓⲇⲉⲥ ⲛⲙϩⲉⲛϩⲁⲗⲩⲥⲓⲥ ⲁⲩⲱ ϣⲁϥⲥⲗⲡⲛϩⲁⲗⲩⲥⲓⲥ ⲛϥⲟⲩⲉϭⲡ ⲙⲡⲁⲓⲇⲉⲥ ⲉⲙⲡⲉϣⲗⲁⲁⲩ ϭⲙϭⲟⲙ ⲉⲣⲟϥ
and broken the fetters, so that no person was able to tame him.
5 ⲉ̅ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲟⲩⲟⲉⲓϣ ⲛⲓⲙ ⲛⲧⲉⲩϣⲏ ⲙⲛ ⲡⲉϩⲟⲟⲩ ⲛⲉϥϩⲛ ⲛⲉⲙϩⲁⲟⲩ ⲁⲩⲱ ϩⲛ ⲛⲧⲟⲩⲓⲏ ⲉϥϫⲓϣⲕⲁⲕ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲉⲩϩⲓⲟⲩⲉ ⲉⲣⲟϥ ϩⲛ ⲛⲱⲛⲉ
He was continually, night and day, in the mountains, and in the tombs, howling, and cutting himself with flints.
6 ⲋ̅ ⲛⲧⲉⲣⲉϥⲛⲁⲩ ⲉⲓⲏⲥ ϩⲙ ⲡⲟⲩⲉ ⲁϥⲡⲱⲧ ⲁϥⲡⲁϩⲧϥ ϩⲁⲣⲁⲧϥ ⲁϥⲟⲩⲱϣⲧ ⲛⲁϥ
But when he saw Jesus afar off, he ran, and prostrating himself before him,
7 ⲍ̅ ⲁϥⲱϣ ⲇⲉ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲛ ⲟⲩⲛⲟϭ ⲛϩⲣⲟⲟⲩ ⲉϥϫⲱ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ϫⲉ ⲁϩⲣⲟⲕ ⲛⲙⲙⲁⲓ ⲓⲏⲥ ⲡϣⲏⲣⲉ ⲙⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲉⲧϫⲟⲥⲉ ϯⲱⲣⲕ ⲉⲣⲟⲕ ⲙⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ ϫⲉ ⲛⲛⲉⲕⲃⲁⲥⲁⲛⲓⲍⲉ ⲙⲙⲟⲓ
cried out, What hast thou to do with me, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? I conjure thee by God not to torment me.
8 ⲏ̅ ⲛⲉⲣⲉⲓⲏⲥ ⲅⲁⲣ ϫⲱ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ⲛⲁϥ ϫⲉ ⲁⲙⲟⲩ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲙⲡⲣⲱⲙⲉ ⲡⲉⲡⲛⲁ ⲛⲁⲕⲁⲑⲁⲣⲧⲟⲛ
(For Jesus had said to him, Come out of the man, you unclean spirit.)
9 ⲑ̅ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛⲉϥϫⲛⲟⲩ ⲙⲙⲟϥ ϫⲉ ⲛⲓⲙ ⲉⲣⲛⲧⲕ ⲡⲉϫⲁϥ ⲛⲁϥ ϫⲉ ⲗⲉⲅⲓⲱⲛ ⲡⲉ ⲡⲣⲁⲛ ϫⲉ ⲧⲛϫⲕϩⲁϩ
Jesus asked him, What is your name? He answered, My name is Legion, for we are many.
10 ⲓ̅ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲁⲩⲥⲉⲡⲥⲱⲡϥ ⲉⲙⲁⲧⲉ ϫⲉⲕⲁⲥ ⲛⲛⲉϥⲛⲟϫⲟⲩ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲛⲧⲉⲭⲱⲣⲁ
And he earnestly entreated him not to drive them out of the country.
11 ⲓ̅ⲁ̅ ⲛⲉⲥⲙⲡⲙⲁ ⲇⲉ ⲉⲧⲙⲙⲁⲩ ϩⲁⲣⲁⲧϥ ⲙⲡⲧⲟⲟⲩ ⲛϭⲓ ⲟⲩⲛⲟϭ ⲛⲁⲅⲉⲗⲏ ⲣⲣⲓⲣ ⲉⲩⲙⲟⲟⲛⲉ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ
Now there was a great herd of swine feeding on the mountain.
12 ⲓ̅ⲃ̅ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲁⲩⲥⲉⲡⲥⲱⲡϥ ⲉⲩϫⲱ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ⲛⲁϥ ϫⲉ ϫⲟⲟⲩⲛ ⲉϩⲟⲩⲛ ⲉⲛⲉϣⲁⲩ
And the fiends besought him, saying, Suffer us to go to the swine, that we may enter into them.
13 ⲓ̅ⲅ̅ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲁⲩⲕⲁⲁⲩ ⲉⲧⲣⲉⲩⲃⲱⲕ ⲛⲧⲉⲣⲉⲛⲉⲡⲛⲁ ⲇⲉ ⲛⲁⲕⲁⲑⲁⲣⲧⲟⲛ ⲉⲓ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲁⲩⲃⲱⲕ ⲉϩⲟⲩⲛ ⲉⲛⲉϣⲁⲩ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲁⲥⲣⲱϩⲧ ⲛϭⲓ ⲧⲁⲅⲉⲗⲏ ⲣⲣⲓⲣ ϩⲓϫⲛ ⲧϣⲱⲙⲉ ⲉⲡⲉⲭⲏⲧ ⲉⲩⲛⲁⲣϫⲟⲩⲱⲧ ⲛϣⲉ ⲁⲩⲙⲟⲩ ϩⲛ ⲧⲉⲑⲁⲗⲁⲥⲥⲁ
Jesus immediately permitted them. Then the unclean spirits being gone out, entered into the swine; and the herd, in number about two thousand, rushed down a precipice into the sea, and were choked.
14 ⲓ̅ⲇ̅ ⲛⲉⲧⲙⲟⲟⲛⲉ ⲇⲉ ⲙⲙⲟⲟⲩ ⲁⲩⲡⲱⲧ ⲁⲩϫⲓⲡⲟⲩⲱ ⲉϩⲣⲁⲓ ⲉⲧⲡⲟⲗⲓⲥ ⲙⲛⲛⲥⲱϣⲉ ⲁⲩⲉⲓ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲉⲛⲁⲩ ⲉⲡⲉⲛⲧⲁϥϣⲱⲡⲉ
And the swineherds fled, and told it in the city and villages. And the people flocked out to see what had happened.
15 ⲓ̅ⲉ̅ ⲁⲩⲉⲓ ⲇⲉ ⲉⲣⲁⲧϥ ⲛⲓⲏⲥ ⲁⲩⲛⲁⲩ ⲉⲡⲉⲧⲟ ⲛⲣⲉϥϣⲟⲟⲣ ⲉϥϩⲙⲟⲟⲥ ⲉϩⲣⲁⲉⲓ ⲉⲣⲉⲛⲉϥϩⲟⲉⲓⲧⲉ ϩⲓⲱⲱϥ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲉⲣⲉⲡⲉϥϩⲏⲧ ⲥⲙⲟⲛⲧ ⲡⲉⲛⲧⲁⲗⲉⲅⲉⲱⲛ ϣⲱⲡⲉ ⲛⲙⲙⲁϥ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲁⲩⲣϩⲟⲧⲉ
When they came to Jesus, and saw him who had been possessed by the legion, sitting, and clothed, and in his right mind, they were afraid.
16 ⲓ̅ⲋ̅ ⲛⲉⲛⲧⲁⲩⲛⲁⲩ ⲇⲉ ⲁⲩⲧⲁⲟⲩⲟ ⲉⲣⲟⲟⲩ ⲛⲑⲉ ⲛⲧⲁⲥϣⲱⲡⲉ ⲙⲡⲉⲧⲟ ⲛⲇⲁⲓⲙⲱⲛⲓⲟⲛ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲉⲧⲃⲉ ⲛⲉϣⲁⲩ
And those who had seen the whole, having related to them what had happened to the demoniac, and to the swine,
17 ⲓ̅ⲍ̅ ⲁⲩⲥⲉⲡⲥⲱⲡϥ ⲇⲉ ⲉⲧⲣⲉϥⲡⲱⲱⲛⲉ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲛ ⲛⲉⲩⲧⲟϣ
they entreated him to leave their territories.
18 ⲓ̅ⲏ̅ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲉϥⲛⲁⲧⲁⲗⲉ ⲉⲡϫⲟⲉⲓ ⲁϥⲥⲉⲡⲥⲱⲡϥ ⲛϭⲓ ⲡⲉⲧⲟ ⲛⲇⲁⲓⲙⲱⲛⲓⲟⲛ ⲉⲧⲣⲉϥⲟⲩⲁϩϥ ⲛⲥⲱϥ
As he entered the bark, the man who had been possessed, begged permission to attend him.
19 ⲓ̅ⲑ̅ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲙⲡϥⲕⲁⲁϥ ⲉϥϫⲱ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ⲛⲁϥ ϫⲉ ⲃⲱⲕ ⲉϩⲣⲁⲉⲓ ⲉⲡⲉⲕⲏⲉⲓ ϣⲁⲛⲉⲕⲣⲱⲙⲉ ⲛⲅⲧⲁⲟⲩⲟ ⲉⲣⲟⲟⲩ ⲛⲛⲉⲛⲧⲁⲡϫⲟⲉⲓⲥ ⲁⲁⲩ ⲛⲁⲕ
Jesus however did not permit him, but said, Go home to your relations, and tell them what great things the Lord, in pity, jas done for you.
20 ⲕ̅ ⲉⲁϥⲛⲁ ⲛⲁⲕ ⲁϥⲃⲱⲕ ⲇⲉ ⲁϥⲁⲣⲭⲉⲥⲑⲁⲓ ⲛⲧⲁϣⲉⲟⲉⲓϣ ϩⲛ ⲧⲇⲉⲕⲁⲡⲟⲗⲓⲥ ⲛⲛⲉⲛⲧⲁ ⲓⲏⲥ ⲁⲁⲩ ⲛⲁϥ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲁⲩⲣϣⲡⲏⲣⲉ ⲧⲏⲣⲟⲩ
Accordingly he departed, publishing in Decapolis, what great things Jesus had done for him. And they were all amazed.
21 ⲕ̅ⲁ̅ ⲛⲧⲉⲣⲉϥϫⲓⲟⲟⲣ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲙ ⲡϫⲟⲉⲓ ⲛϭⲓ ⲓⲏⲥ ⲁϥⲉⲓ ⲉⲡⲉⲕⲣⲟ ⲁⲩⲛⲟϭ ⲙⲙⲏⲏϣⲉ ⲥⲱⲟⲩϩ ⲉⲣⲟϥ ⲛⲉϥϩⲁⲧⲉⲑⲁⲗⲁⲥⲥⲁ ⲇⲉ
Jesus having repassed in the bark, a great crowd gathered round him, while he was on the shore.
22 ⲕ̅ⲃ̅ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲁϥⲉⲓ ⲛϭⲓ ⲟⲩⲁ ⲛⲁⲣⲭⲓⲥⲩⲛⲁⲅⲱⲅⲟⲥ ⲉⲡⲉϥⲣⲁⲛ ⲡⲉ ⲓⲁⲉⲓⲣⲟⲥ ⲛⲧⲉⲣⲉϥⲛⲁⲩ ⲇⲉ ⲉⲣⲟϥ ⲁϥⲡⲁϩⲧϥ ϩⲁⲣⲁⲧϥ
Then came one of the directors of the synagogue, named Jairus, who seeing him threw himself at his feet,
23 ⲕ̅ⲅ̅ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲁϥⲥⲉⲡⲥⲱⲡϥ ⲉⲙⲁⲧⲉ ⲉϥϫⲱ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ϫⲉ ⲧⲁϣⲉⲉⲣⲉ ⲙⲟⲕϩ ⲛϣⲱⲛⲉ ϫⲉⲕⲁⲥ ϭⲉ ⲉⲕⲉⲉⲓ ⲛⲅⲕⲁⲧⲟⲟⲧⲕ ϩⲓϫⲱⲥ ϫⲉ ⲉⲥⲉⲗⲟ ⲛⲥⲱⲛϩ
and entreated him earnestly, saying, My little daughter is in extreme danger; I pray you come and lay your hands upon her and to heal her, and she will be well.
24 ⲕ̅ⲇ̅ ⲁϥⲃⲱⲕ ⲇⲉ ⲛⲙⲙⲁϥ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲁϥⲟⲩⲁϩϥ ⲛⲥⲱϥ ⲛϭⲓ ⲟⲩⲛⲟϭ ⲙⲙⲏⲏϣⲉ ⲛⲉⲩⲑⲗⲓⲃⲉ ⲇⲉ ⲙⲙⲟϥ
And Jesus went with him, followed by a great multitude who thronged him.
25 ⲕ̅ⲉ̅ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲟⲩⲥϩⲓⲙⲉ ⲉⲣⲉⲡⲉⲥⲛⲟϥ ϣⲟⲩⲟ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ⲉⲓⲥ ⲙⲛⲧⲥⲛⲟⲟⲩⲥ ⲣⲣⲟⲙⲡⲉ
And a woman, who had been twelve years distressed with an issue of blood,
26 ⲕ̅ⲋ̅ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲁⲥϣⲉⲡϩⲁϩ ⲛϩⲓⲥⲉ ⲛⲧⲟⲟⲧⲟⲩ ⲛϩⲁϩ ⲛⲥⲁⲉⲓⲛ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲁⲥϫⲟ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲛⲛⲉⲧⲉⲩⲛⲧⲁⲥⲥⲉ ⲧⲏⲣⲟⲩ ⲉⲙⲡⲥⲙⲧⲟⲛ ⲗⲁⲁⲩ ⲁⲗⲗⲁ ⲛⲧⲁⲥⲉⲓ ⲛⲑⲟ
who had suffered much from several physicians, and spent her all without receiving any relief, but rather growing worse,
27 ⲕ̅ⲍ̅ ⲛⲧⲉⲣⲉⲥⲥⲱⲧⲙ ⲉⲧⲃⲉ ⲓⲏⲥ ⲁⲥⲟϣⲥ ⲉϩⲟⲩⲛ ϩⲙ ⲡⲙⲏⲏϣⲉ ⲁⲥⲉⲓ ⲉⲡⲁϩⲟⲩ ⲙⲙⲟϥ ⲁⲥϫⲱϩ ⲉⲧⲉϥϣⲧⲏⲛ
having heard of Jesus, came in the crowd, behind, and touched his mantle;
28 ⲕ̅ⲏ̅ ⲁⲥϫⲟⲟⲥ ⲅⲁⲣ ϫⲉ ⲉⲓϣⲁⲛϫⲱϩ ⲉⲛⲉϥϩⲟⲓⲧⲉ ϯⲛⲁⲗⲟ
for she had said, If I but touch his cloths, I shall recover.
29 ⲕ̅ⲑ̅ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛⲧⲉⲩⲛⲟⲩ ⲁⲥϭⲱ ⲛϭⲓ ⲧⲡⲏⲅⲏ ⲙⲡⲉⲥⲥⲛⲟϥ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲁⲥⲉⲓⲙⲉ ϩⲙ ⲡⲉⲥⲥⲱⲙⲁ ϫⲉ ⲁⲥⲗⲟ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲛ ⲧⲙⲁⲥⲧⲓⲅⲝ ⲉⲧⲛⲙⲙⲁⲥ
Instantly the source of her distemper was dried up, and she felt in her body, that she was delivered from that scourge.
30 ⲗ̅ ⲓⲏⲥ ⲇⲉ ⲛⲧⲉⲣⲉϥⲉⲓⲙⲉ ⲛⲧⲉⲩⲛⲟⲩ ϩⲣⲁⲓ ⲛϩⲏⲧϥ ⲉⲧϭⲟⲙ ⲉⲛⲧⲁⲥⲉⲓ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲙⲙⲟϥ ⲁϥⲕⲧⲟϥ ϩⲙ ⲡⲙⲏⲏϣⲉ ⲉϥϫⲱ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ϫⲉ ⲛⲓⲙ ⲡⲉ ⲛⲧⲁϥϫⲱϩ ⲉⲛⲁϩⲟⲓⲧⲉ
Jesus immediately, conscious of the virtue which had issued from him, turned toward the crowd, saying, Who touched my clothes?
31 ⲗ̅ⲁ̅ ⲡⲉϫⲉⲛⲉϥⲙⲁⲑⲏⲧⲏⲥ ⲛⲁϥ ϫⲉ ⲕⲛⲁⲩ ⲉⲡⲙⲏⲏϣⲉ ⲉⲧⲑⲗⲓⲃⲉ ⲙⲙⲟⲕ ⲉⲧⲃⲉ ⲡⲁⲓ ⲕϫⲱ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ϫⲉ ⲛⲓⲙ ⲡⲉ ⲛⲧⲁϥϫⲱϩ ⲉⲣⲟⲉⲓ
His disciples answered, You see how the multitude throng you; yet you say, Who touched me?
32 ⲗ̅ⲃ̅ ⲁϥⲕⲧⲉⲓⲁⲧϥ ⲇⲉ ⲉⲛⲁⲩ ⲉⲧⲉⲛⲧⲁⲥⲣ ⲡⲁⲓ
But he looked round him, to see her who had done it.
33 ⲗ̅ⲅ̅ ⲧⲉⲥϩⲓⲙⲉ ⲇⲉ ⲁⲥⲣ ϩⲟⲧⲉ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲁⲥⲥⲧⲱⲧ ⲉⲥⲥⲟⲟⲩⲛ ⲙⲡⲉⲛⲧⲁϥϣⲱⲡⲉ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ⲁⲥⲉⲓ ⲁⲥⲡⲁϩⲧⲥ ϩⲁⲣⲁⲧϥ ⲁⲥⲧⲁⲟⲩⲟ ⲉⲣⲟϥ ⲛⲧⲙⲉ ⲧⲏⲣⲥ
Then the woman, knowing the change wrought upon her, came trembling with fear, threw herself prostrate before him, and confessed the whole truth.
34 ⲗ̅ⲇ̅ ⲛⲧⲟϥ ⲇⲉ ⲡⲉϫⲁϥ ⲛⲁⲥ ϫⲉ ⲧⲁϣⲉⲉⲣⲉ ⲧⲟⲩⲡⲓⲥⲧⲓⲥ ⲧⲉ ⲛⲧⲁⲥⲛⲁϩⲙⲉ ⲃⲱⲕ ϩⲛ ⲟⲩⲉⲓⲣⲏⲛⲏ ⲛⲧⲉⲗⲟ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲛ ⲧⲟⲩⲙⲁⲥⲧⲓⲅⲝ
But he said to her, Daughter, your faith has cured you; go in peace, released from this scourge.
35 ⲗ̅ⲉ̅ ⲉⲧⲓ ⲛⲧⲟϥ ⲉϥϣⲁϫⲉ ⲁⲩⲉⲓ ⲛϭⲓ ⲛⲣⲱⲙⲉ ⲙⲡⲁⲣⲭⲓⲥⲩⲛⲁⲅⲱⲅⲟⲥ ⲉⲩϫⲱ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ⲛⲁϥ ϫⲉ ⲧⲉⲕϣⲉⲉⲣⲉ ⲁⲥⲙⲟⲩ ⲉⲕⲛⲁϯϩⲟⲓ ϭⲉ ⲙⲡⲥⲁϩ ⲉⲧⲃⲉ ⲟⲩ
Before he had done speaking, messengers came from the house of the director of the synagogue, who said, Your daughter is dead, why should you trouble the teacher any further?
36 ⲗ̅ⲋ̅ ⲓⲏⲥ ⲇⲉ ⲛⲧⲉⲣⲉϥⲥⲱⲧⲙ ⲉⲡϣⲁϫⲉ ⲉϥϫⲱ ⲙⲙⲟϥ ⲡⲉϫⲁϥ ⲙⲡⲁⲣⲭⲓⲥⲩⲛⲁⲅⲱⲅⲟⲥ ϫⲉ ⲙⲡⲣⲣ ϩⲟⲧⲉ ⲡⲓⲥⲧⲉⲩⲉ ⲙⲙⲁⲧⲉ
Jesus hearing this message delivered, said immediately to the director, Fear not; only believe.
37 ⲗ̅ⲍ̅ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲙⲡϥⲕⲁⲗⲁⲁⲩ ⲉⲟⲩⲁϩϥ ⲛⲥⲱϥ ⲛⲥⲁⲡⲉⲧⲣⲟⲥ ⲛⲙⲓⲁⲕⲱⲃⲟⲥ ⲛⲙⲓⲱϩⲁⲛⲛⲏⲥ ⲡⲥⲟⲛ ⲛⲓⲁⲕⲱⲃⲟⲥ
And he allowed no person to follow him except Peter and James, and John, the brother of James.
38 ⲗ̅ⲏ̅ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲁⲩⲉⲓ ⲉϩⲣⲁⲓ ⲉⲡⲏⲉⲓ ⲙⲡⲁⲣⲭⲓⲥⲩⲛⲁⲅⲱⲅⲟⲥ ⲁϥⲛⲁⲩ ⲉⲣⲟⲟⲩ ⲉⲩϣⲧⲣⲧⲱⲣ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲉⲩⲣⲓⲙⲉ ⲉⲩⲟⲩⲛⲣⲟ ⲉⲙⲁⲧⲉ
Being arrived at the director's house, and seeing the tumult, and the people weeping and wailing immoderately,
39 ⲗ̅ⲑ̅ ⲛⲧⲉⲣⲉϥⲃⲱⲕ ⲇⲉ ⲉϩⲟⲩⲛ ⲡⲉϫⲁϥ ⲛⲁⲩ ϫⲉ ⲁϩⲣⲱⲧⲛ ⲧⲉⲧⲛϣⲧⲣⲧⲱⲣ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲧⲉⲧⲛⲣⲓⲙⲉ ⲉⲧϣⲉⲉⲣⲉ ϣⲏⲙ ⲙⲡⲥⲙⲟⲩ ⲁⲗⲗⲁ ⲉⲥⲛⲕⲟⲧⲕ
he said to them, as he entered, Why do you weep and make a bustle? The child is not dead, but asleep.
40 ⲙ̅ ⲁⲩⲥⲱⲃⲉ ⲛⲥⲱϥ ⲛⲧⲟϥ ⲇⲉ ⲛⲧⲉⲣⲉϥⲛⲟϫⲟⲩ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲧⲏⲣⲟⲩ ⲁϥϫⲓⲡⲓⲱⲧ ⲛⲧϣⲉⲉⲣⲉ ϣⲏⲙ ⲙⲛ ⲧⲉⲥⲙⲁⲁⲩ ⲙⲛ ⲛⲉⲧⲛⲙⲙⲁϥ ⲁϥⲃⲱⲕ ⲉϩⲟⲩⲛ ⲉⲡⲙⲁ ⲉⲧⲉⲣⲉⲧϣⲉⲉⲣⲉ ϣⲏⲙ ⲛϩⲏⲧϥ
And they derided him. But having made them all go out, he took with him the child's father and mother, and those who came with him; and he entered the chamber where she was;
41 ⲙ̅ⲁ̅ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛⲧⲉⲣⲉϥⲁⲙⲁϩⲧⲉ ⲛⲧϭⲓϫ ⲛⲧϣⲉⲉⲣⲉ ϣⲏⲙ ⲡⲉϫⲁϥ ⲛⲁⲥ ϫⲉ ⲧⲁⲗⲉⲓⲑⲁ ⲕⲟⲩⲙ ⲉⲧⲉ ⲡⲁⲓ ⲡⲉ ϣⲁⲩⲟⲩⲁϩⲙⲉϥ ϫⲉ ⲧϣⲉⲉⲣⲉ ϣⲏⲙ ⲉⲉⲓϫⲉⲣⲟ ⲧⲱⲟⲩⲛⲉ
and, taking her by the hand, said to her, Talitha cumi, (which signified, Young woman, arise, ) I command you.
42 ⲙ̅ⲃ̅ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛⲧⲉⲩⲛⲟⲩ ⲁⲥⲧⲱⲟⲩⲛⲥ ⲛϭⲓ ⲧϣⲉⲉⲣⲉ ϣⲏⲙ ⲁⲥⲙⲟⲟϣⲉ ⲛⲉⲥϩⲙ ⲙⲛⲧⲥⲛⲟⲟⲩⲥ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲣⲣⲟⲙⲡⲉ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲁⲩⲣϣⲡⲏⲣⲉ ⲛⲧⲉⲩⲛⲟⲩ ⲛⲟⲩⲛⲟϭ ⲛϣⲡⲏⲣⲉ
Immediately the maid arose and walked, for she was twelve years old; and they were confounded with astonishment.
43 ⲙ̅ⲅ̅ ⲁϥϩⲱⲛ ⲇⲉ ⲉⲧⲟⲟⲧⲟⲩ ⲉⲙⲁⲧⲉ ϫⲉⲕⲁⲥ ⲉⲛⲛⲉⲗⲁⲁⲩ ⲉⲓⲙⲉ ⲉⲡⲁⲓ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲁϥⲟⲩⲉϩⲥⲁϩⲛⲉ ⲉⲧⲣⲉⲩⲧⲙⲙⲟⲥ
But he strictly enjoined them not to mention it to any person, and ordered that something should be given her to eat.
