1 ⲁ̅ ⲛⲥⲟⲩⲁ ⲇⲉ ⲙⲡⲥⲁⲃⲃⲁⲧⲟⲛ ⲉϩⲧⲟⲟⲩⲉ ⲛϣⲱⲣⲡ ⲁⲩⲉⲓ ⲉⲡⲉⲙϩⲁⲟⲩ ⲉⲣⲉⲛ ϩⲏⲛⲉ ⲛⲧⲟⲟⲧⲟⲩ ⲉⲛⲧⲁⲩⲥⲃⲧⲱⲧⲟⲩ ⲙⲛ ϩⲉⲛⲕⲟⲟⲩⲉ ⲛⲙⲙⲁⲩ ⲛⲉⲩⲙⲉⲩⲉ ⲇⲉ ⲡⲉ ϩⲣⲁⲓ ⲛϩⲏⲧⲟⲩ ϫⲉ ⲛⲓⲙ ⲁⲣⲁ ⲡⲉⲧⲛⲁⲥⲕⲟⲣⲕⲣ ⲛⲁⲛ ⲙⲡⲱⲛⲉ
But very early on the first day of the week they went to the tomb, taking with them the spices that they had prepared.
2 ⲃ̅ ⲛⲧⲉⲣⲟⲩⲉⲓ ⲇⲉ ⲁⲩϩⲉ ⲉⲡⲱⲛⲉ ⲉⲁⲩⲥⲕⲣⲕⲱⲣϥ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲙ ⲡⲉⲙϩⲁⲟⲩ
They found that the stone had been rolled away from the tomb;
3 ⲅ̅ ⲁⲩⲃⲱⲕ ⲇⲉ ⲉϩⲟⲩⲛ ⲙⲡⲟⲩϩⲉ ⲉⲡⲥⲱⲙⲁ ⲙⲡϫⲟⲉⲓⲥ ⲓⲏⲥ
and, on going into it, they could not find the body.
4 ⲇ̅ ⲁⲥϣⲱⲡⲉ ⲇⲉ ϩⲙ ⲡⲧⲣⲉⲩϣⲧⲟⲣⲧⲣ ⲉⲧⲃⲉ ⲡⲁⲓ ⲉⲓⲥ ⲣⲱⲙⲉ ⲥⲛⲁⲩ ⲁⲩⲉⲓ ⲉϫⲱⲟⲩ ϩⲛ ϩⲉⲛϩⲃⲥⲱ ⲉⲩⲣⲟⲩⲟⲓⲛ
While they were at a loss to account for this, all at once two men stood beside them, in dazzling clothing.
5 ⲉ̅ ⲛⲧⲉⲣⲟⲩⲣ ϩⲟⲧⲉ ⲇⲉ ⲁⲩⲡⲁϩⲧ ϫⲱⲟⲩ ⲉⲡⲉⲥⲏⲧ ⲉϫⲙ ⲡⲕⲁϩ ⲡⲉϫⲁⲩ ⲛⲁⲩ ϫⲉ ⲁϩⲣⲱⲧⲛ ⲧⲉⲧⲛϣⲓⲛⲉ ⲛⲥⲁ ⲡⲉⲧⲟⲛϩ ⲙⲛ ⲛⲉⲧⲙⲟⲟⲩⲧ
But, when in their fear the women bowed their faces to the ground, the men said to them, “Why are you looking among the dead for him who is living?
6 ⲋ̅ ⲛϥⲙⲡⲉⲓⲙⲁ ⲁⲛ ⲁⲗⲗⲁ ⲁϥⲧⲱⲟⲩⲛ ⲁⲣⲓⲡⲙⲉⲩⲉ ⲛⲑⲉ ⲉⲛⲧⲁϥϣⲁϫⲉ ⲛⲙⲙⲏⲧⲛ ϫⲓⲛ ⲉϥϩⲛ ⲧⲅⲁⲗⲓⲗⲁⲓⲁ
Remember how he spoke to you before he left Galilee –
7 ⲍ̅ ⲉϥϫⲱ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ϫⲉ ϩⲁⲡⲥ ⲉⲧⲣⲉⲩⲡⲁⲣⲁⲇⲓⲇⲟⲩ ⲙⲡϣⲏⲣⲉ ⲙⲡⲣⲱⲙⲉ ⲉⲧⲟⲟⲧⲟⲩ ⲛϩⲉⲛⲣⲱⲙⲉ ⲣⲣⲉϥⲣⲛⲟⲃⲉ ⲛⲥⲉⲥⲧⲁⲩⲣⲟⲩ ⲙⲙⲟϥ ⲛϥⲧⲱⲟⲩⲛ ϩⲙ ⲡⲙⲉϩ ϣⲟⲙⲛⲧ ⲛϩⲟⲟⲩ
How he said that the Son of Man must be betrayed into the hands of wicked men, and be crucified, and rise again on the third day.”
8 ⲏ̅ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲁⲩⲣⲡⲙⲉⲉⲩⲉ ⲛⲛⲉϥϣⲁϫⲉ
Then they remembered the words of Jesus,
9 ⲑ̅ ⲁⲩⲕⲟⲧⲟⲩ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲙ ⲡⲉⲙϩⲁⲟⲩ ⲁⲩϫⲉ ⲛⲁⲓ ⲉⲡⲙⲛⲧⲟⲩⲉ ⲙⲛ ⲡⲕⲉⲥⲉⲉⲡⲉ ⲧⲏⲣϥ
and, on returning from the tomb, they told all this to the Eleven and to all the rest.
10 ⲓ̅ ⲛⲉ ⲙⲁⲣⲓⲁ ⲇⲉ ⲧⲉ ⲧⲙⲁⲅⲇⲁⲗⲏⲛⲏ ⲙⲛ ⲓⲱϩⲁⲛⲛⲁ ⲙⲛ ⲙⲁⲣⲓⲁ ⲧⲁ ⲓⲁⲕⲱⲃⲟⲥ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲡⲕⲉⲥⲉⲉⲡⲉ ⲉⲧⲛⲙⲙⲁⲩ ⲛⲉⲩϫⲱ ⲇⲉ ⲛⲛⲁⲓ ⲡⲉ ⲉⲛⲁⲡⲟⲥⲧⲟⲗⲟⲥ
There were Mary of Magdala, and Joanna, and Mary, the mother of James. The other women, too, spoke about this to the apostles.
11 ⲓ̅ⲁ̅ ⲁⲩⲣⲑⲉ ⲛⲛⲓϩⲱⲃ ⲛⲥⲱⲃⲉ ⲙⲡⲉⲩⲙⲧⲟ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲛϭⲓ ⲛⲉⲓϣⲁϫⲉ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲙⲡⲟⲩⲡⲓⲥⲧⲉⲩⲉ ⲛⲁⲩ
What they said seemed to the apostles mere nonsense, and they did not believe them.
12 ⲓ̅ⲃ̅ ⲁⲡⲉⲧⲣⲟⲥ ⲇⲉ ⲧⲱⲟⲩⲛ ⲁϥⲃⲱⲕ ⲉⲡⲉⲙϩⲁⲟⲩ ⲁϥϭⲱϣⲧ ⲉϩⲟⲩⲛ ⲁϥⲛⲁⲩ ⲉⲛⲉϩⲃⲱⲱⲥ ⲛⲥⲁ ⲟⲩⲥⲁ ⲁϥⲃⲱⲕ ⲇⲉ ⲉϥⲣⲙⲟⲓϩⲉ ϩⲣⲁⲓ ⲛϩⲏⲧϥ ⲙⲡⲉⲛⲧⲁϥϣⲱⲡⲉ
13 ⲓ̅ⲅ̅ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲉⲓⲥ ⲣⲱⲙⲉ ⲥⲛⲁⲩ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲛϩⲏⲧⲟⲩ ⲉⲩⲙⲟⲟϣⲉ ⲉⲩϯⲙⲉ ⲙⲡⲉⲓϩⲟⲟⲩ ⲛⲟⲩⲱⲧ ⲉϥⲟⲩⲏⲟⲩ ⲛⲑⲓⲉⲣⲟⲥⲟⲗⲩⲙⲁ ⲛⲥⲉ ⲛⲥⲧⲁⲇⲓⲟⲛ ⲉⲡⲉϥⲣⲁⲛ ⲡⲉ ⲉⲙⲙⲁⲟⲩⲥ
It happened that very day that two of the disciples were going to a village called Emmaus, which was about seven miles from Jerusalem,
14 ⲓ̅ⲇ̅ ⲛⲧⲟⲟⲩ ⲇⲉ ⲛⲉⲩϣⲁϫⲉ ⲙⲛ ⲛⲉⲩⲉⲣⲏ ⲟⲩ ⲉⲧⲃⲉ ⲛⲁⲓ ⲧⲏⲣⲟⲩ ⲉⲛⲧⲁⲩϣⲱⲡⲉ
talking together, as they went, about all that had just taken place.
15 ⲓ̅ⲉ̅ ⲁⲥϣⲱⲡⲉ ⲇⲉ ϩⲙ ⲡⲧⲣⲉⲩϣⲁϫⲉ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛⲥⲉⲥⲩⲛⲍⲏⲧⲓ ⲁⲓⲏⲥ ϩⲱⲛ ⲉϩⲟⲩⲛ ⲉⲣⲟⲟⲩ ⲁϥⲙⲟⲟϣⲉ ⲛⲙⲙⲁⲩ
While they were talking about these things and discussing them, Jesus himself came up and went on their way with them;
16 ⲓ̅ⲋ̅ ⲛⲉⲩⲁⲙⲁϩⲧⲉ ⲇⲉ ⲛⲛⲉⲩⲃⲁⲗ ⲉⲧⲙⲥⲟⲩⲱⲛϥ
but their eyes were blinded so that they could not recognize him.
17 ⲓ̅ⲍ̅ ⲡⲉϫⲁϥ ⲛⲁⲩ ϫⲉ ⲟⲩ ⲛⲉ ⲛⲉⲓϣⲁϫⲉ ⲉⲧⲉⲧⲛϫⲱ ⲙⲙⲟⲟⲩ ⲙⲛ ⲛⲉⲧⲛⲉⲣⲏⲟⲩ ⲉⲧⲉⲧⲛⲙⲟⲟϣⲉ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲁⲩⲁϩⲉⲣⲁⲧⲟⲩ ⲉⲩⲟⲕⲙ
“What is this that you are saying to each other as you walk along?” Jesus asked. They stopped, with sad looks on their faces,
18 ⲓ̅ⲏ̅ ⲁⲟⲩⲁ ⲇⲉ ⲛϩⲏⲧⲟⲩ ⲟⲩⲱϣⲃ ⲉⲡⲉϥⲣⲁⲛ ⲡⲉ ⲕⲗⲉⲟⲡⲁⲥ ⲡⲉϫⲁϥ ⲛⲁϥ ϫⲉ ⲛⲧⲟⲕ ⲙⲁⲩⲁⲁⲕ ⲉⲕⲟ ⲛϣⲙⲙⲟ ⲉⲑⲓⲉⲣⲟⲥⲟⲗⲩⲙⲁ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲙⲡⲕⲓⲙⲉ ⲉⲛⲉⲛⲧⲁⲩϣⲱⲡⲉ ⲛϩⲏⲧⲥ ⲛⲛⲉⲓϩⲟⲟⲩ
and then one of them, whose name was Cleopas, said to Jesus, “Are you staying by yourself at Jerusalem, that you have not heard of the things that have happened there within the last few days?”
19 ⲓ̅ⲑ̅ ⲡⲉϫⲁϥ ⲇⲉ ⲛⲁⲩ ϫⲉ ⲁϣ ⲛⲉ ⲛⲧⲟⲟⲩ ⲇⲉ ⲡⲉϫⲁⲩ ⲛⲁϥ ϫⲉ ⲉⲧⲃⲉ ⲓⲏⲥ ⲡⲛⲁⲍⲱⲣⲁⲓⲟⲥ ⲡⲁⲓ ⲉⲛⲧⲁϥϣⲱⲡⲉ ⲛⲟⲩⲣⲱⲙⲉ ⲙⲡⲣⲟⲫⲏⲧⲏⲥ ⲛⲇⲩⲛⲁⲧⲟⲥ ϩⲙ ⲫⲱⲃ ⲙⲛ ⲡϣⲁϫⲉ ⲙⲡⲉⲙⲧⲟ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲙⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲙⲛ ⲡⲗⲁⲟⲥ ⲧⲏⲣϥ
“What things do you mean?” asked Jesus. “Why, about Jesus of Nazareth,” they answered, “who, in the eyes of God and all the people, was a prophet, whose power was felt in both his words and actions;
20 ⲕ̅ ⲉⲁⲩⲡⲁⲣⲁⲇⲓⲇⲟⲩ ⲙⲙⲟϥ ⲛϭⲓ ⲛⲁⲣⲭⲓⲉⲣⲉⲩⲥ ⲙⲛ ⲛⲛⲁⲣⲭⲱⲛ ⲉⲩϩⲁⲡ ⲛⲧⲉ ⲡⲙⲟⲩ ⲁⲩⲥⲧⲁⲩⲣⲟⲩ ⲙⲙⲟϥ
and how the chief priests and our leading men gave him up to be sentenced to death, and afterward crucified him.
21 ⲕ̅ⲁ̅ ⲁⲛⲟⲛ ⲇⲉ ⲉⲛϩⲉⲗⲡⲓⲍⲉ ϫⲉ ⲛⲧⲟϥ ⲡⲉⲧⲛⲁⲥⲱⲧⲉ ⲙⲡⲓⲥⲣⲁⲏⲗ ⲁⲗⲗⲁ ⲃⲃⲗⲗ ⲛⲛⲁⲓ ⲧⲏⲣⲟⲩ ⲡⲙⲉϩ ϣⲟⲙⲛⲧ ⲛϩⲟⲟⲩ ⲡⲟⲟⲩ ϫⲓⲛⲧⲁⲛⲁⲓ ϣⲱⲡⲉ
But we were hoping that he was the Destined Deliverer of Israel; yes, and besides all this, it is now three days since these things occurred.
22 ⲕ̅ⲃ̅ ⲁϩⲉⲛⲕⲉⲥϩⲓⲙⲉ ⲇⲉ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲛϩⲏⲧⲛ ⲡⲉϣⲥ ⲡⲉⲛϩⲏⲧ ⲉⲁⲩⲃⲱⲕ ⲉϩⲧⲟⲟⲩⲉ ⲉⲡⲉⲙϩⲁⲟⲩ
And what is more, some of the women among us have greatly astonished us. They went to the tomb at daybreak
23 ⲕ̅ⲅ̅ ⲙⲡⲟⲩϩⲉ ⲉⲡⲉϥⲥⲱⲙⲁ ⲁⲩⲉⲓ ⲉⲩϫⲱ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ϫⲉ ⲁⲛⲛⲁⲩ ⲉⲩⲟⲡⲧⲁⲥⲓⲁ ⲛⲁⲅⲅⲉⲗⲟⲥ ⲛⲁⲓ ⲉⲩϫⲱ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ
And, not finding the body of Jesus there, came and told us that they had seen a vision of angels who told them that he was alive.
24 ⲕ̅ⲇ̅ ϫⲉ ⲁϥⲧⲱⲟⲩⲛ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲁϩⲟⲓⲛⲉ ⲛⲛⲉⲧⲛⲙⲙⲁⲛ ⲃⲱⲕ ⲉⲡⲉⲙϩⲁⲟⲩ ⲁⲩϩⲉ ⲉⲣⲟϥ ϩⲓⲛⲁⲓ ⲕⲁⲧⲁ ⲑⲉ ⲉⲛⲧⲁ ⲛⲉϩⲓⲟⲙⲉ ϫⲟⲟⲥ ⲛⲧⲟϥ ⲇⲉ ⲙⲡⲟⲩⲛⲁⲩ ⲉⲣⲟϥ
So some of our number went to the tomb and found everything just as the women had said, but they did not see Jesus.”
25 ⲕ̅ⲉ̅ ⲡⲉϫⲁϥ ⲇⲉ ⲛⲁⲩ ϫⲉ ⲱ ⲛⲁⲛⲟⲏⲧⲟⲥ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛⲉⲧⲟⲥⲕ ϩⲙ ⲡⲉⲩϩⲏⲧ ⲉⲡⲓⲥⲧⲉⲩⲉ ⲉϩⲱⲃ ⲛⲓⲙ ⲉⲛⲧⲁ ⲛⲉⲡⲣⲟⲫⲏⲧⲏⲥ ϫⲟⲟⲩ
Then Jesus said to them, “Foolish men, slow to accept all that the prophets have said!
26 ⲕ̅ⲋ̅ ⲙⲏ ϩⲁⲡⲥ ⲁⲛ ⲉⲧⲣⲉ ⲡⲉⲭⲥ ϣⲉⲡⲛⲁⲓ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛϥⲃⲱⲕ ⲉϩⲟⲩⲛ ⲉⲡⲉϥⲉⲟⲟⲩ
Was not the Christ bound to undergo this suffering before entering into his glory?”
27 ⲕ̅ⲍ̅ ⲁϥⲁⲣⲭⲓ ⲇⲉ ϫⲓⲛ ⲙⲱⲩⲥⲏⲥ ⲙⲛ ⲛⲉⲡⲣⲟⲫⲏⲧⲏⲥ ⲧⲏⲣⲟⲩ ⲉⲃⲱⲗ ⲉⲣⲟⲟⲩ ϩⲛ ⲛⲉⲅⲣⲁⲫⲏ ⲧⲏⲣⲟⲩ ⲉⲧⲃⲏⲏⲧϥ
Then, beginning with Moses and all the prophets, he explained to them all through the scriptures the passages that referred to himself.
28 ⲕ̅ⲏ̅ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲁⲩⲃⲱⲕ ⲉϩⲟⲩⲛ ⲉⲡϯⲙⲉ ⲉⲧⲟⲩⲛⲁⲃⲱⲕ ⲉⲣⲟϥ ⲛⲧⲟϥ ⲇⲉ ⲁϥϩⲓⲧⲟⲟⲧϥ ⲉⲟⲩⲉ ⲙⲙⲟⲟⲩ ⲉϥⲙⲟⲟϣⲉ
When they got near the village to which they were walking, Jesus appeared to be going further;
29 ⲕ̅ⲑ̅ ⲁⲩⲁⲙⲁϩⲧⲉ ⲙⲙⲟϥ ⲉⲩϫⲱ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ϫⲉ ϭⲱ ⲛⲙⲙⲁⲛ ϫⲉ ⲡⲛⲁⲩ ⲣⲣⲟⲩϩⲉ ⲡⲉ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲁⲡⲉϩⲟⲟⲩ ⲣⲓⲕⲉ ⲁϥⲃⲱⲕ ⲇⲉ ⲉϩⲟⲩⲛ ⲁϥϭⲱ ⲛⲙⲙⲁⲩ
but they pressed him not to do so. “Stay with us,” they said, “for it is getting towards evening, and the sun in already low.” So Jesus went in to stay with them.
30 ⲗ̅ ⲁⲥϣⲱⲡⲉ ⲇⲉ ϩⲙ ⲡⲧⲣⲉϥⲛⲟϫϥ ⲛⲙⲙⲁⲩ ⲁϥϫⲓ ⲛⲟⲩⲟⲓⲕ ⲁϥⲥⲙⲟⲩ ⲉⲣⲟϥ ⲁϥⲡⲟϣϥ ⲁϥⲧⲁⲁϥ ⲛⲁⲩ
After he had taken his place at the table with them, he took the bread and said the blessing, and broke it, and gave it to them.
31 ⲗ̅ⲁ̅ ⲛⲧⲟⲟⲩ ⲇⲉ ⲁⲛⲉⲩⲃⲁⲗ ⲟⲩⲱⲛ ⲁⲩⲥⲟⲩⲱⲛϥ ⲛⲧⲟϥ ⲇⲉ ⲁϥϩⲟⲡϥ ⲉⲣⲟⲟⲩ
Then their eyes were opened and they recognized him; but he disappeared from their sight.
32 ⲗ̅ⲃ̅ ⲡⲉϫⲁⲩ ⲇⲉ ⲛⲛⲉⲩⲉⲣⲏⲩ ϫⲉ ⲉⲓⲉ ⲛⲉⲣⲉⲡⲉⲛϩⲏⲧ ϩⲟⲃⲥ ⲉⲣⲟⲛ ⲁⲛ ⲡⲉ ⲛⲑⲉ ⲉⲛⲧⲁϥϣⲁϫⲉ ⲛⲙⲙⲁⲛ ϩⲓ ⲧⲉϩⲓⲏ ⲉϥⲃⲱⲗ ⲉⲣⲟⲛ ⲛⲛⲉⲅⲣⲁⲫⲏ
“How our hearts glowed,” the disciples said to each other, “while he was talking to us on the road, and when he explained the scriptures to us!”
33 ⲗ̅ⲅ̅ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲁⲩⲧⲱⲟⲩⲛ ⲉⲩⲗⲩⲡⲓ ϩⲛ ⲧⲉⲩⲛⲟⲩ ⲉⲧⲙⲙⲁⲩ ⲁⲩⲕⲟⲧⲟⲩ ⲉⲑⲓⲉⲣⲟⲥⲟⲗⲩⲙⲁ ⲁⲩϩⲉ ⲉⲡⲙⲛⲧⲟⲩⲉ ⲉⲩⲥⲱⲟⲩϩ ⲉϩⲟⲩⲛ ⲙⲛ ⲛⲉⲧⲛⲙⲙⲁⲩ
Then they immediately got up and returned to Jerusalem, where they found the Eleven and their companions all together,
34 ⲗ̅ⲇ̅ ⲉⲩϫⲱ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ϫⲉ ⲟⲛⲧⲱⲥ ⲁⲡϫⲟⲉⲓⲥ ⲧⲱⲟⲩⲛ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲁϥⲟⲩⲱⲛϩ ⲉⲥⲓⲙⲱⲛ
who told them that the Master had really risen, and had appeared to Simon.
35 ⲗ̅ⲉ̅ ⲁⲩϫⲱ ϩⲱⲟⲩ ⲛⲛⲉⲧⲁⲩϣⲱⲡⲉ ϩⲓ ⲧⲉϩⲓⲏ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛⲑⲉ ⲉⲛⲧⲁϥⲟⲩⲱⲛϩ ⲉⲣⲟⲟⲩ ϩⲙ ⲡⲡⲱϣ ⲙⲡⲟⲓⲕ
So they also related what had happened during their walk, and how they had recognized Jesus at the breaking of the bread.
36 ⲗ̅ⲋ̅ ⲉⲩϫⲱ ⲇⲉ ⲛⲛⲁⲓ ⲁϥⲁϩⲉⲣⲁⲧϥ ϩⲛ ⲧⲉⲩⲙⲏⲧⲉ ⲡⲉϫⲁϥ ⲛⲁⲩ ϫⲉ ϯⲣⲏⲛⲏ ⲛⲏⲧⲛ
While they were still talking about these things, Jesus himself stood among them.
37 ⲗ̅ⲍ̅ ⲛⲧⲉⲣⲟⲩϣⲧⲟⲣⲧⲣ ⲇⲉ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲁⲩⲣ ϩⲟⲧⲉ ⲉⲩⲙⲉⲩⲉ ϫⲉ ⲛⲉⲩⲛⲁⲩ ⲉⲩⲡⲛⲁ
In their terror and alarm they thought they saw a ghost,
38 ⲗ̅ⲏ̅ ⲡⲉϫⲁϥ ⲛⲁⲩ ϫⲉ ⲁϩⲣⲱⲧⲛ ⲧⲉⲧⲛϣⲧⲣⲧⲱⲣ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲉⲧⲃⲉ ⲟⲩ ⲟⲩⲛ ϩⲉⲛⲙⲉⲩⲉ ⲁⲗⲉ ⲉϩⲣⲁⲓ ⲉϫⲛ ⲡⲉⲧⲛϩⲏⲧ
but Jesus said to them, “Why are you so startled? And why do doubts arise in your minds?
39 ⲗ̅ⲑ̅ ⲁⲛⲁⲩ ⲉⲛⲁϭⲓϫ ⲙⲛ ⲛⲁⲩⲉⲣⲏⲧⲉ ϫⲉ ⲁⲛⲟⲕ ⲡⲉ ϭⲟⲙϭⲙ ⲉⲣⲟⲓ ⲛⲧⲉⲧⲛⲛⲁⲩ ϫⲉ ⲙⲙⲛⲧⲉ ⲡⲛⲁ ⲕⲁⲥ ϩⲓ ⲥⲁⲣⲝ ⲕⲁⲧⲁ ⲑⲉ ⲉⲧⲉⲧⲛⲛⲁⲩ ⲉⲣⲟⲓ ⲉⲩⲛ ⲟⲩⲟⲛ ⲙⲙⲟⲓ
Look at my hands and my feet, and you will know that it is I. Feel me, and look at me, for a ghost has not flesh and bones, as you see that I have.”
40 ⲙ̅ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛⲧⲉⲣⲉϥϫⲉ ⲡⲁⲓ ⲁⲩⲧⲟⲩⲟⲟⲩ ⲉⲛⲉϥϭⲓϫ ⲙⲛ ⲛⲉϥⲟⲩⲉⲣⲏⲧⲉ
41 ⲙ̅ⲁ̅ ⲉⲧⲓ ⲇⲉ ⲉⲩⲁⲡⲓⲥⲧⲓ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲙⲡⲣⲁϣⲉ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲉⲩⲣϣⲡⲏⲣⲉ ⲡⲉϫⲁϥ ⲛⲁⲩ ϫⲉ ⲟⲩⲛⲧⲏⲧⲛ ⲗⲁⲁⲩ ⲛϭⲓ ⲛⲟⲩⲱⲙ ⲙⲡⲉⲓⲙⲁ
While they were still unable to believe it all, overcome with joy, and were wondering if it were true, Jesus said to them, “Have you anything here to eat?”
42 ⲙ̅ⲃ̅ ⲛⲧⲟⲟⲩ ⲇⲉ ⲁⲩϯ ⲛⲁϥ ⲛⲟⲩϣⲁⲁⲧⲉ ⲛⲧⲃⲧ ⲉⲥϭⲏϭ
They handed him a piece of broiled fish,
43 ⲙ̅ⲅ̅ ⲁϥϫⲓⲧⲥ ⲁϥⲟⲩⲟⲙⲥ ⲙⲡⲉⲩⲙⲧⲟ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ
and he took it and ate it before their eyes.
44 ⲙ̅ⲇ̅ ⲡⲉϫⲁϥ ⲇⲉ ⲛⲁⲩ ϫⲉ ⲛⲁⲓ ⲛⲉ ⲛⲁϣⲁϫⲉ ⲉⲛⲧⲁⲓϫⲟⲟⲩ ⲛⲏⲧⲛ ϫⲓⲛ ⲉⲓϣⲟⲟⲡ ⲛⲙⲙⲏⲧⲛ ϫⲉ ϩⲁⲡⲥ ⲉⲧⲣⲉⲩϫⲱⲕ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲛϭⲓ ⲛⲉⲧⲥⲏϩ ⲧⲏⲣⲟⲩ ϩⲙ ⲡⲛⲟⲙⲟⲥ ⲙⲙⲱⲩⲥⲏⲥ ⲙⲛ ⲛⲉⲡⲣⲟⲫⲏⲧⲏⲥ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛⲉⲯⲁⲗⲙⲟⲥ ⲉⲧⲃⲏⲏⲧ
“This is what I told you,” he said, “when I was still with you – that everything that had been written about me in the Law of Moses, the prophets, and the Psalms, must be fulfilled.”
45 ⲙ̅ⲉ̅ ⲧⲟⲧⲉ ⲁϥⲟⲩⲱⲛ ⲙⲡⲉⲩϩⲏⲧ ⲉⲧⲣⲉⲩⲥⲟⲩⲱⲛϥ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲉⲧⲣⲉⲩⲓⲙⲉ ⲉⲛⲉⲅⲣⲁⲫⲏ
Then he enabled them to understand the meaning of the scriptures, saying to them,
46 ⲙ̅ⲋ̅ ⲡⲉϫⲁϥ ⲇⲉ ⲛⲁⲩ ϫⲉ ⲧⲁⲓ ⲧⲉ ⲑⲉ ⲉⲧⲥⲏϩ ⲉⲧⲣⲉ ⲡⲉⲭⲥ ⲁⲁⲥ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛϥⲧⲱⲟⲩⲛ ϩⲙ ⲡⲙⲉϩ ϣⲟⲙⲛⲧ ⲛϩⲟⲟⲩ
“Scripture says that the Christ will suffer, and that he will rise again from the dead on the third day,
47 ⲙ̅ⲍ̅ ⲛⲥⲉⲧⲁϣⲉⲟⲓϣ ⲛⲟⲩⲙⲉⲧⲁⲛⲟⲓⲁ ⲙⲡⲉϥⲣⲁⲛ ⲉⲩⲕⲁ ⲛⲟⲃⲉ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲛⲛϩⲉⲑⲛⲟⲥ ⲧⲏⲣⲟⲩ ⲉⲧⲉⲧⲛⲁⲣⲭⲓ ϫⲓⲛ ⲑⲓⲉⲣⲟⲥⲟⲗⲩⲙⲁ
and that repentance for forgiveness of sins will be proclaimed on his authority to all the nations – beginning at Jerusalem.
48 ⲙ̅ⲏ̅ ⲛⲧⲱⲧⲛ ⲛⲉⲧⲟ ⲙⲙⲛⲧⲣⲉ ⲛⲁⲓ
You yourselves are to be witnesses to all this.
49 ⲙ̅ⲑ̅ ⲁⲛⲟⲕ ϩⲱ ϯⲛⲁⲧⲛⲛⲟⲟⲩ ⲙⲡⲉⲣⲏⲧ ⲙⲡⲓⲱⲧ ⲉϩⲣⲁⲓ ⲉϫⲱⲧⲛ ⲛⲧⲱⲧⲛ ⲇⲉ ϩⲙ ⲟⲟⲥ ϩⲛ ⲧⲉⲓⲡⲟⲗⲓⲥ ϣⲁⲛⲧⲉⲧⲛϯ ϩⲓⲱⲧ ⲧⲏⲟⲩⲧⲛ ⲛⲟⲩϭⲟⲙ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲛ ⲧⲡⲉ
And now I am myself about to send you that which my Father has promised. But you must remain in the city until you have been invested with power from above.”
50 ⲛ̅ ⲁϥⲛⲧⲟⲩ ⲇⲉ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϣⲁ ⲃⲏⲑⲁⲛⲓⲁ ⲁϥϥⲓ ⲛⲉϥϭⲓϫ ⲉϩⲣⲁⲓ ⲁϥⲥⲙⲟⲩ ⲉⲣⲟⲟⲩ
After this, Jesus led them out as far as Bethany, and there raised his hands and blessed them.
51 ⲛ̅ⲁ̅ ⲁⲥϣⲱⲡⲉ ⲇⲉ ϩⲙ ⲡⲧⲣⲉϥⲥⲙⲟⲩ ⲉⲣⲟⲟⲩ ⲁϥⲟⲩⲉ ⲙⲙⲟⲟⲩ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲁϥⲃⲱⲕ ⲉϩⲣⲁⲓ ⲉⲧⲡⲉ
As he was in the act of blessing them, he left them.
52 ⲛ̅ⲃ̅ ⲁⲩⲟⲩⲱϣⲧ ϩⲱⲟⲩ ⲙⲙⲟϥ ⲁⲩⲕⲟⲧⲟⲩ ⲉⲑⲓⲉⲣⲟⲥⲟⲗⲩⲙⲁ ϩⲛ ⲟⲩⲛⲟϭ ⲣⲣⲁϣⲉ
They returned to Jerusalem full of joy;
53 ⲛ̅ⲅ̅ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛⲉⲩϣⲟⲟⲡ ⲡⲉ ϩⲙ ⲡⲉⲣⲡⲉ ⲛⲟⲩⲟⲓϣ ⲛⲓⲙ ⲉⲩⲥⲙⲟⲩ ⲉⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ
and they were constantly in the Temple Courts, blessing God.
