1 ⲁ̅ ⲁϥϫⲱ ⲇⲉ ⲛⲁⲩ ⲛⲟⲩⲡⲁⲣⲁⲃⲟⲗⲏ ⲉⲧⲃⲉ ϫⲉ ϣϣⲉ ⲉϣⲗⲏⲗ ⲟⲩⲟⲓϣ ⲛⲓⲙ ⲉⲧⲙⲉⲅⲕⲁⲕⲓ
He also spoke a parable to them that they must always pray, and not give up,
2 ⲃ̅ ⲉϥϫⲱ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ϫⲉ ⲛⲉⲩⲛ ⲟⲩⲕⲣⲓⲧⲏⲥ ϩⲛ ⲟⲩⲡⲟⲗⲓⲥ ⲉⲛϥⲣ ϩⲟⲧⲉ ⲁⲛ ϩⲏⲧϥ ⲙⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲉⲛϥϣⲓⲡⲉ ⲁⲛ ϩⲏⲧϥ ⲣⲣⲱⲙⲉ
saying, "There was a judge in a certain city who did not fear God, and did not respect people.
3 ⲅ̅ ⲛⲉⲩⲛ ⲟⲩⲭⲏⲣⲁ ⲇⲉ ϩⲛ ⲧⲡⲟⲗⲓⲥ ⲉⲧⲙⲙⲁⲩ ⲉⲥⲛⲏⲟⲩ ϣⲁⲣⲟϥ ⲉⲥϫⲱ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ϫⲉ ⲁⲣⲓ ⲡⲁϩⲁⲡ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲙ ⲡⲉⲧϫⲓ ϩⲁⲡ ⲟⲩⲃⲏⲉⲓ
A widow was in that city, and she often came to him, saying, 'Give me justice against my adversary.'
4 ⲇ̅ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲙⲡϥⲟⲩⲱϣ ϩⲛ ⲟⲩⲛⲟϭ ⲛⲟⲩⲟⲓϣ ⲙⲛⲛⲥⲁ ⲛⲁⲓ ⲇⲉ ⲡⲉϫⲁϥ ϩⲣⲁⲓ ⲛϩⲏⲧϥ ϫⲉ ⲉϣϫⲉ ⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲛϯⲣ ϩⲟⲧⲉ ϩⲏⲧϥ ⲁⲛ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛϯϣⲓⲡⲉ ⲁⲛ ϩⲏⲧϥ ⲣⲣⲱⲙⲉ
He would not for a while, but afterward he said to himself, 'Though I neither fear God, nor respect people,
5 ⲉ̅ ⲁⲗⲗⲁ ⲉⲧⲃⲉ ⲧⲉⲓⲭⲏⲣⲁ ⲟⲩⲉϩ ϩⲓⲥⲉ ⲉⲣⲟⲓ ϯⲛⲁⲣ ⲡⲉⲥϩⲁⲡ ϫⲉ ⲛⲛⲉⲥϣⲱⲡⲉ ⲉⲥⲛⲏⲟⲩ ϣⲁⲃⲟⲗ ⲛⲥϯ ϩⲓⲥⲉ ⲛⲁⲓ
yet because this widow bothers me, I will give her justice, or else she will wear me out by her continual coming.'"
6 ⲋ̅ ⲡⲉϫⲁϥ ⲇⲉ ⲛϭⲓ ⲡϫⲟⲉⲓⲥ ϫⲉ ⲥⲱⲧⲙ ϫⲉ ⲛⲧⲁⲡⲉⲕⲣⲓⲧⲏⲥ ⲛⲧⲁⲇⲓⲕⲓⲁ ϫⲉ ⲟⲩ
The Lord said, "Listen to what the unrighteous judge says.
7 ⲍ̅ ⲉⲓⲉ ⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ ϭⲉ ⲛⲁⲣ ⲡϩⲁⲡ ⲁⲛ ⲛⲛⲉϥⲥⲱⲧⲡ ⲉⲧⲱϣ ⲉϩⲣⲁⲓ ⲉⲣⲟϥ ϩⲙ ⲡⲉϩⲟⲟⲩ ⲙⲛ ⲧⲉⲩϣⲏ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛϥϩⲣⲟϣ ⲛϩⲏⲧ ⲉϩⲣⲁⲓ ⲉϫⲱⲟⲩ
Won't God avenge his chosen ones, who are crying out to him day and night, and yet he exercises patience with them?
8 ⲏ̅ ϯϫⲱ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ⲛⲏⲧⲛ ϫⲉ ϥⲛⲁⲣ ⲡⲉⲩϩⲁⲡ ϩⲛ ⲟⲩϭⲉⲡⲏ ⲡⲗⲏⲛ ⲡϣⲏⲣⲉ ⲙⲡⲣⲱⲙⲉ ⲛⲏⲩ ⲛϥϩⲉ ⲉⲧⲡⲓⲥⲧⲓⲥ ϩⲓϫⲙ ⲡⲕⲁϩ
I tell you that he will avenge them quickly. Nevertheless, when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on the earth?"
9 ⲑ̅ ⲁϥϫⲱ ⲇⲉ ⲛⲧⲉⲓⲡⲁⲣⲁⲃⲟⲗⲏ ⲉϩⲟⲓⲛⲉ ⲉⲩⲕⲱ ⲛϩⲧⲏⲩ ⲉⲣⲟⲟⲩ ⲟⲩⲁⲁⲧⲟⲩ ϫⲉ ϩⲉⲛⲇⲓⲕⲁⲓⲟⲥ ⲛⲉ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲉⲩⲥⲱϣϥ ⲙⲡⲕⲉⲥⲉⲉⲡⲉ
He spoke also this parable to certain people who were convinced of their own righteousness, and who despised all others.
10 ⲓ̅ ϫⲉ ⲣⲱⲙⲉ ⲥⲛⲁⲩ ⲛⲉⲛⲧⲁⲩⲃⲱⲕ ⲉϩⲣⲁⲓ ⲉⲡⲉⲣⲡⲉ ⲉϣⲗⲏⲗ ⲟⲩⲁ ⲇⲉ ⲉⲩⲫⲁⲣⲓⲥⲥⲁⲓⲟⲥ ⲡⲉ ⲡⲕⲉⲟⲩⲁ ⲇⲉ ⲟⲩⲧⲉⲗⲱⲛⲏⲥ ⲡⲉ
"Two men went up into the temple to pray; one was a Pharisee, and the other was a tax collector.
11 ⲓ̅ⲁ̅ ⲁⲡⲉⲫⲁⲣⲓⲥⲥⲁⲓⲟⲥ ⲇⲉ ⲁϩⲉⲣⲁⲧϥ ⲁϥϫⲉ ⲛⲁⲓ ⲉϥϣⲗⲏⲗ ϫⲉ ⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ ϯϣⲡϩⲙⲟⲧ ⲛⲧⲟⲟⲧⲕ ϫⲉ ⲛϯⲟ ⲁⲛ ⲛⲑⲉ ⲙⲡⲕⲉⲥⲉⲉⲡⲉ ⲛⲣⲣⲱⲙⲉ ⲣⲣⲉϥⲧⲱⲣⲡ ⲣⲣⲉϥϫⲓ ⲛϭⲟⲛⲥ ⲛⲛⲟⲓⲕ ⲏ ⲛⲑⲉ ⲙⲡⲓⲕⲉⲧⲉⲗⲱⲛⲏⲥ
The Pharisee stood and prayed to himself like this: 'God, I thank you, that I am not like other people, extortioners, unrighteous, adulterers, or even like this tax collector.
12 ⲓ̅ⲃ̅ ϯⲛⲏⲥⲧⲉⲩⲉ ⲛⲥⲟⲡ ⲥⲛⲁⲩ ⲕⲁⲧⲁ ⲥⲁⲃⲃⲁⲧⲟⲛ ϯϯ ⲙⲡⲣⲉⲙⲏⲧ ⲛⲛⲉϯϫⲡⲟ ⲙⲙⲟⲟⲩ ⲧⲏⲣⲟⲩ
I fast twice a week. I give tithes of all that I get.'
13 ⲓ̅ⲅ̅ ⲁⲡⲕⲉⲧⲉⲗⲱⲛⲏⲥ ⲇⲉ ⲁϥⲁϩⲉⲣⲁⲧϥ ⲙⲡⲟⲩⲉ ⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲙⲡϥⲟⲩⲉϣ ϥⲓⲛⲉϥⲃⲁⲗ ⲉϩⲣⲁⲓ ⲉⲧⲡⲉ ⲁⲗⲗⲁ ⲁϥϩⲓⲟⲩⲉ ⲉϩⲟⲩⲛ ⲉϩⲛ ⲧⲉϥⲙⲉⲥⲑⲏⲧ ⲉϥϫⲱ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ϫⲉ ⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲕⲱ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲛⲁⲓ ⲁⲛⲟⲕ ⲡⲓⲣⲉϥⲣⲛⲟⲃⲉ
But the tax collector, standing far away, would not even lift up his eyes to heaven, but beat his breast, saying, 'God, be merciful to me, a sinner.'
14 ⲓ̅ⲇ̅ ϯϫⲱ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ⲛⲏⲧⲛ ϫⲉ ⲁⲡⲁⲓ ⲉⲓ ⲉⲡⲉⲥⲏⲧ ⲉⲡⲉϥⲏⲓ ⲉϥⲧⲙⲁⲓⲏⲟⲩ ⲉϩⲟⲩⲉ ⲡⲏ ϫⲉ ⲟⲩⲟⲛ ⲛⲓⲙ ⲉⲧϫⲓⲥⲉ ⲙⲙⲟϥ ⲥⲉⲛⲁⲑⲃⲃⲓⲟϥ ⲡⲉⲧⲛⲁⲑⲃⲃⲉⲓⲟ ⲇⲉ ⲙⲙⲟϥ ⲥⲉⲛⲁϫⲁⲥⲧϥ
I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other; for everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, but he who humbles himself will be exalted."
15 ⲓ̅ⲉ̅ ⲁⲩⲉⲓⲛⲉ ⲇⲉ ⲛⲁϥ ⲛϩⲉⲛϣⲏⲣⲉ ϣⲏⲙ ϫⲉ ⲉϥⲉϫⲱϩ ⲉⲣⲟⲟⲩ ⲁⲛⲉϥⲙⲁⲑⲏⲧⲏⲥ ⲇⲉ ⲛⲁⲩ ⲉⲣⲟⲟⲩ ⲁⲩⲉⲡⲓⲧⲓⲙⲁ ⲛⲁⲩ
Now they were also bringing their babies to him, that he might touch them. But when the disciples saw it, they rebuked them.
16 ⲓ̅ⲋ̅ ⲁⲓⲏⲥ ⲇⲉ ⲙⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲉⲣⲟⲟⲩ ⲉϥϫⲱ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ϫⲉ ⲕⲁ ⲛϣⲏⲣⲉ ϣⲏⲙ ⲛⲥⲉⲉⲓ ⲉⲣⲁⲧ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲙⲡⲣⲕⲱⲗⲩ ⲙⲙⲟⲟⲩ ⲧⲁ ⲛⲁⲓ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲛⲧⲉⲓⲙⲓⲛⲉ ⲧⲉ ⲧⲙⲛⲧⲣⲣⲟ ⲙⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ
Jesus summoned them, saying, "Allow the little children to come to me, and do not hinder them, for the Kingdom of God belongs to such as these.
17 ⲓ̅ⲍ̅ ϩⲁⲙⲏⲛ ϯϫⲱ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ⲛⲏⲧⲛ ϫⲉ ⲡⲉⲧⲉ ⲛϥⲛⲁϣⲉⲡ ⲧⲙⲛⲧⲣⲣⲟ ⲙⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲉⲣⲟϥ ⲁⲛ ϩⲱⲥ ϣⲏⲣⲉ ϣⲏⲙ ⲛⲛⲉϥⲃⲱⲕ ⲉϩⲟⲩⲛ ⲉⲣⲟⲥ
Truly, I tell you, whoever does not receive the Kingdom of God like a little child, he will in no way enter into it."
18 ⲓ̅ⲏ̅ ⲁⲩⲁⲣⲭⲱⲛ ⲇⲉ ϫⲛⲟⲩϥ ⲉϥϫⲱ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ϫⲉ ⲡⲥⲁϩ ⲛⲁⲅⲁⲑⲟⲥ ⲉⲓⲛⲁⲣ ⲟⲩ ⲧⲁⲕⲗⲏⲣⲟⲛⲟⲙⲓ ⲙⲡⲱⲛϩ ϣⲁ ⲉⲛⲉϩ (aiōnios g166)
A certain ruler asked him, saying, "Good Teacher, what must I do to inherit everlasting life?" (aiōnios g166)
19 ⲓ̅ⲑ̅ ⲡⲉϫⲉ ⲓⲏⲥ ⲛⲁϥ ϫⲉ ⲁϩⲣⲟⲕ ⲕⲙⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲟⲩⲃⲏⲓ ϫⲉ ⲡⲁⲅⲁⲑⲟⲥ ⲙⲙⲛ ⲁⲅⲁⲑⲟⲥ ⲛⲥⲁ ⲟⲩⲁ ⲉⲧⲉ ⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲡⲉ
Jesus asked him, "Why do you call me good? No one is good, except one—God.
20 ⲕ̅ ⲕⲥⲟⲟⲩⲛ ⲛⲛⲉⲛⲧⲟⲗⲏ ⲙⲡⲣⲣⲛⲟⲓⲕ ⲙⲡⲣϩⲱⲧⲃ ⲙⲡⲣϩⲱϥⲧ ⲙⲡⲣⲣⲙⲛⲧⲣⲉ ⲛⲛⲟⲩϫ ⲙⲁⲧⲁⲓⲉ ⲡⲉⲕⲓⲱⲧ ⲙⲛ ⲧⲉⲕⲙⲁⲁⲩ
You know the commandments: 'Do not commit adultery,' 'Do not murder,' 'Do not steal,' 'Do not give false testimony,' 'Honor your father and your mother.'"
21 ⲕ̅ⲁ̅ ⲛⲧⲟϥ ⲇⲉ ⲡⲉϫⲁϥ ⲛⲁϥ ϫⲉ ⲛⲁⲓ ⲧⲏⲣⲟⲩ ⲁⲓϩⲁⲣⲉϩ ⲉⲣⲟⲟⲩ ϫⲓⲛ ⲧⲁⲙⲛⲧⲕⲟⲩⲓ
And he said, "I have kept all these things from my youth up."
22 ⲕ̅ⲃ̅ ⲁⲓⲏⲥ ⲇⲉ ⲟⲩⲱϣⲃ ⲡⲉϫⲁϥ ⲛⲁϥ ϫⲉ ⲕⲉⲩⲁ ⲡⲉⲧⲕϣⲁⲁⲧ ⲙⲙⲟϥ ϯⲛⲅⲕⲁ ⲛⲓⲙ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲉⲧⲛⲧⲁⲕ ⲛⲅⲧⲁⲁⲩ ⲛⲛϩⲏⲕⲉ ⲛⲅⲕⲱ ⲛⲁⲕ ⲛⲟⲩⲁϩⲟ ϩⲛ ⲙⲡⲏⲩⲉ ⲛⲅⲉⲓ ⲛⲅⲟⲩⲁϩⲕ ⲛⲥⲱⲓ
When Jesus heard it, he said to him, "You still lack one thing. Sell all that you have, and distribute it to the poor. You will have treasure in heaven. Come, follow me."
23 ⲕ̅ⲅ̅ ⲛⲧⲟϥ ⲇⲉ ⲁϥⲥⲉⲧⲙ ⲛⲁⲓ ⲁϥⲗⲩⲡⲓ ⲛⲉⲩⲣⲙⲙⲁⲟ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲉⲙⲁⲧⲉ ⲡⲉ
But when he heard these things, he became very sad, for he was very rich.
24 ⲕ̅ⲇ̅ ⲁⲓⲏⲥ ⲇⲉ ⲛⲁⲩ ⲉⲣⲟϥ ⲡⲉϫⲁϥ ϫⲉ ⲁⲛⲁⲩ ⲉⲑⲉ ⲉⲧⲥⲙⲟⲕϩ ⲉⲧⲣⲉ ⲛⲉⲧⲉⲩⲛⲧⲟⲩⲭⲣⲏⲙⲁ ⲙⲙⲁⲩ ⲃⲱⲕ ⲉϩⲟⲩⲛ ⲉⲧⲙⲛⲧⲣⲣⲟ ⲙⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ
And Jesus looked at him and said, "How hard it is for those who have riches to enter into the Kingdom of God.
25 ⲕ̅ⲉ̅ ⲥⲙⲟⲧⲛ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲉⲧⲣⲉ ⲟⲩϭⲁⲙⲟⲩⲗ ⲉⲓ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲓⲧⲛ ⲧⲟⲩⲁⲧϥⲉ ⲛⲟⲩϩⲁⲙ ⲛⲧⲱⲡ ⲉϩⲟⲩⲉ ⲟⲩⲣⲙⲙⲁⲟ ⲛϥⲃⲱⲕ ⲉϩⲟⲩⲛ ⲉⲧⲙⲛⲧⲣⲣⲟ ⲙⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ
For it is easier for a camel to enter in through a needle's eye, than for a rich person to enter into the Kingdom of God."
26 ⲕ̅ⲋ̅ ⲡⲉϫⲁⲩ ⲇⲉ ⲛϭⲓ ⲛⲉⲧⲥⲱⲧⲙ ϫⲉ ⲛⲓⲙ ⲛⲧⲟⲟⲩⲛ ⲛⲉⲧⲛⲁϣⲱⲛϩ
Those who heard it said, "Then who can be saved?"
27 ⲕ̅ⲍ̅ ⲛⲧⲟϥ ⲇⲉ ⲡⲉϫⲁϥ ⲛⲁⲩ ϫⲉ ⲛⲁⲧϭⲟⲙ ⲛⲛⲁϩⲣⲛ ⲣⲣⲱⲙⲉ ⲟⲩⲛ ϭⲟⲙ ⲉⲣⲟⲟⲩ ⲛⲛⲁϩⲣⲙ ⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ
But he said, "The things which are impossible with man are possible with God."
28 ⲕ̅ⲏ̅ ⲡⲉϫⲁϥ ⲇⲉ ⲛϭⲓ ⲡⲉⲧⲣⲟⲥ ϫⲉ ⲉⲓⲥ ϩⲏⲏⲧⲉ ⲁⲛⲟⲛ ⲁⲛⲕⲱ ⲛⲥⲱⲛ ⲛⲛⲉⲧⲉⲛⲟⲩⲛ ⲛⲉ ⲁⲛⲟⲩⲁϩⲛ ⲛⲥⲱⲕ
And Peter said, "Look, we have left our own things and followed you."
29 ⲕ̅ⲑ̅ ⲛⲧⲟϥ ⲇⲉ ⲡⲉϫⲁⲩ ⲛⲁⲩ ϫⲉ ϩⲁⲙⲏⲛ ϯϫⲱ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ⲛⲏⲧⲛ ϫⲉ ⲙⲙⲛ ⲗⲁⲁⲩ ⲉⲁϥⲕⲁ ϩⲓ ⲛⲥⲱϥ ⲏ ⲥϩⲓⲙⲉ ⲏ ⲥⲟⲛ ⲏ ⲛⲉϥⲓⲟⲧⲉ ⲏ ⲛⲉϥϣⲏⲣⲉ ⲉⲧⲃⲉ ⲧⲙⲛⲧⲣⲣⲟ ⲙⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ
He said to them, "Truly I tell you, there is no one who has left house, or wife, or brothers, or parents, or children, for the Kingdom of God's sake,
30 ⲗ̅ ⲉⲛϥⲛⲁϫⲓⲧⲟⲩ ⲁⲛ ⲛⲥⲁϣϥ ⲛⲕⲱⲃ ϩⲙ ⲡⲉⲓⲟⲩⲟⲓϣ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲟⲩⲱⲛϩ ϣⲁ ⲉⲛⲉϩ ϩⲙ ⲡⲁⲓⲱⲛ ⲉⲧⲛⲏⲟⲩ (aiōn g165, aiōnios g166)
who will not receive many times more in this time, and in the world to come, everlasting life." (aiōn g165, aiōnios g166)
31 ⲗ̅ⲁ̅ ⲁϥϫⲓ ⲇⲉ ⲙⲡⲙⲧⲥⲛⲟⲟⲩⲥ ⲡⲉϫⲁϥ ⲛⲁⲩ ϫⲉ ⲉⲓⲥ ϩⲏⲏⲧⲉ ϯⲛⲁⲃⲱⲕ ⲉϩⲣⲁⲓ ⲉⲑⲓⲉⲣⲟⲥⲟⲗⲩⲙⲁ ⲛⲧⲉ ⲛⲉⲧⲥⲏϩ ⲧⲏⲣⲟⲩ ϩⲓⲧⲛ ⲛⲉⲡⲣⲟⲫⲏⲧⲏⲥ ϫⲱⲕ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲙⲡϣⲏⲣⲉ ⲙⲡⲣⲱⲙⲉ
He took the twelve aside, and said to them, "Look, we are going up to Jerusalem, and all the things that are written through the prophets concerning the Son of Man will be completed.
32 ⲗ̅ⲃ̅ ⲥⲉⲛⲁⲧⲁⲁϥ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲉⲧⲟⲟⲧⲟⲩ ⲛⲛϩⲉⲑⲛⲟⲥ ⲉⲥⲱⲃⲉ ⲙⲙⲟϥ ⲛⲥⲉⲥⲟϣϥ ⲛⲥⲉⲛⲉϫ ⲡⲁϭⲥⲉ ⲉϩⲟⲩⲛ ⲉϩⲣⲁϥ
For he will be delivered up to the non-Jews, will be mocked, treated shamefully, and spit on.
33 ⲗ̅ⲅ̅ ⲛⲥⲉⲙⲁⲥⲧⲓⲅⲟⲩ ⲙⲙⲟϥ ⲛⲥⲉⲙⲟⲟⲩⲧϥ ⲛϥⲧⲱⲟⲩⲛ ϩⲙ ⲡⲙⲉϩ ϣⲟⲙⲛⲧ ⲛϩⲟⲟⲩ
They will scourge and kill him. On the third day, he will rise again."
34 ⲗ̅ⲇ̅ ⲛⲧⲟⲟⲩ ⲇⲉ ⲙⲡⲟⲩⲓⲙⲉ ⲉⲗⲁⲁⲩ ⲛⲛⲁⲓ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛⲉⲣⲉⲡⲉⲓϣⲁϫⲉ ϩⲏⲡ ⲉⲣⲟⲟⲩ ⲡⲉ ⲉⲙⲡⲟⲩⲥⲟⲩⲛ ⲛⲉⲧϥϫⲱ ⲙⲙⲟⲟⲩ
They understood none of these things. This saying was hidden from them, and they did not understand the things that were said.
35 ⲗ̅ⲉ̅ ⲁⲥϣⲱⲡⲉ ⲇⲉ ϩⲙ ⲡⲧⲣⲉϥϩⲱⲛ ⲉϩⲟⲩⲛ ⲉϩⲓⲉⲣⲓⲭⲱ ⲛⲉⲩⲛ ⲟⲩⲃⲗⲗⲉ ⲡⲉ ϩⲙ ⲟⲟⲥ ϩⲁⲧⲛ ⲧⲉϩⲓⲏ ⲉϥⲧⲱⲃⲁϩ
It happened, as he came near Jericho, a certain blind man sat by the road, begging.
36 ⲗ̅ⲋ̅ ⲁϥⲥⲱⲧⲙ ⲇⲉ ⲉⲡⲙⲏⲏϣⲉ ⲁϥϣⲓⲛⲉ ϫⲉ ⲟⲩ ⲡⲉⲧϣⲟⲟⲡ
Hearing a crowd going by, he asked what this meant.
37 ⲗ̅ⲍ̅ ⲁⲩⲧⲁⲙⲟϥ ⲇⲉ ϫⲉ ⲓⲏⲥ ⲡⲛⲁⲍⲱⲣⲁⲓⲟⲥ ⲡⲉⲧⲛⲁⲡⲁⲣⲁⲅⲉ
They told him that Jesus of Nazareth was passing by.
38 ⲗ̅ⲏ̅ ⲁϥϫⲓ ϣⲕⲁⲕ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲉϥϫⲱ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ϫⲉ ⲓⲏⲥ ⲡϣⲡⲣⲉ ⲛⲇⲁⲩⲉⲓⲇ ⲛⲁ ⲛⲁⲓ
He called out, "Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me."
39 ⲗ̅ⲑ̅ ⲁⲛⲉⲧⲙⲟⲟϣⲉ ⲇⲉ ⲉⲑⲏ ⲉⲡⲓⲧⲓⲙⲁ ⲛⲁϥ ϫⲉ ⲉϥⲉⲕⲁ ⲣⲱϥ ⲛⲧⲟϥ ⲇⲉ ⲁϥⲁϣⲕⲁⲕ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲛϩⲟⲩⲟ ⲉϥϫⲱ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ϫⲉ ⲡϣⲏⲣⲉ ⲛⲇⲁⲩⲉⲓⲇ ⲛⲁ ⲛⲁⲓ
Those who led the way rebuked him, that he should be quiet; but he shouted all the more, "Son of David, have mercy on me."
40 ⲙ̅ ⲓⲏⲥ ⲇⲉ ⲁϥⲁϩⲉⲣⲁⲧϥ ⲁϥⲟⲩⲉϩⲥⲁϩⲛⲉ ⲉⲧⲣⲉⲩⲛⲧϥ ⲛⲁϥ ⲛⲧⲉⲣⲉϥϩⲱⲛ ⲇⲉ ⲉϩⲟⲩⲛ ⲁϥϫⲛⲟⲩϥ
Standing still, Jesus commanded him to be brought to him. When he had come near, he asked him,
41 ⲙ̅ⲁ̅ ϫⲉ ⲟⲩ ⲡⲉⲧⲕⲟⲩⲉϣ ⲧⲣⲁⲁⲁϥ ⲛⲁⲕ ⲛⲧⲟϥ ⲇⲉ ⲡⲉϫⲁϥ ϫⲉ ⲡϫⲟⲉⲓⲥ ϫⲉ ⲉⲓⲉⲛⲁⲩ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ
"What do you want me to do?" He said, "Lord, that I may see again."
42 ⲙ̅ⲃ̅ ⲡⲉϫⲉ ⲓⲏⲥ ⲛⲁϥ ϫⲉ ⲁⲛⲁⲩ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲧⲉⲕⲡⲓⲥⲧⲓⲥ ⲧⲉⲛⲧⲁⲥⲛⲁϩⲙⲉⲕ
Jesus said to him, "Receive your sight. Your faith has healed you."
43 ⲙ̅ⲅ̅ ⲁϥⲛⲁⲩ ⲇⲉ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲛⲧⲉⲩⲛⲟⲩ ⲁϥⲟⲩⲁϩϥ ⲛⲥⲱϥ ⲉϥϯ ⲉⲟⲟⲩ ⲙⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛⲧⲉⲣⲉⲡⲗⲁⲟⲥ ⲧⲏⲣϥ ⲛⲁⲩ ⲁⲩⲥⲙⲟⲩ ⲉⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ
And immediately he received his sight, and followed him, glorifying God. All the people, when they saw it, praised God.
