1 ⲁ̅ ⲙⲛⲛⲥⲁ ⲛⲁⲓ ⲁⲡϫⲟⲉⲓⲥ ⲥⲉⲧⲡⲕⲉϣϥⲉ ⲥⲛⲟⲟⲩⲥ ⲁϥϫⲟⲟⲩⲥⲉ ⲥⲛⲁⲩ ⲥⲛⲁⲩ ϩⲁⲧⲉϥϩⲏ ⲉⲡⲟⲗⲓⲥ ⲛⲓⲙ ⲛⲙⲙⲁ ⲛⲓⲙ ⲉⲧϥⲛⲁⲃⲱⲕ ⲉϩⲟⲩⲛ ⲉⲣⲟⲟⲩ
Now after these things, the Lord appointed seventy others also, and sent them two by two ahead of Him to every town and place where He Himself was about to go.
2 ⲃ̅ ⲛⲉϥϫⲱ ⲇⲉ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ⲛⲁⲩ ϫⲉ ⲡⲱϩⲥ ⲙⲉⲛ ⲛⲁϣⲱϥ ⲛⲉⲣⲅⲁⲧⲏⲥ ⲇⲉ ⲥⲃⲕⲏⲡⲉ ⲥⲉⲡⲥⲡϫⲟⲉⲓⲥ ⲇⲉ ⲙⲡⲱϩⲥ ϫⲉ ⲉϥⲉⲛⲉϫ ⲉⲣⲅⲁⲧⲏⲥ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲉⲡⲉϥⲱϩⲥ
Then He said to them: “The harvest is indeed great, but the workers are few; therefore pray to the Lord of the harvest that He may send out workers into His harvest.
3 ⲅ̅ ⲃⲱⲕ ⲉⲓⲥ ϩⲏⲏⲧⲉ ⲁⲛⲟⲕ ϯϫⲟⲟⲩ ⲙⲙⲱⲧⲛ ⲛⲑⲉ ⲛϩⲉⲛϩⲓⲉⲓⲃ ⲛⲧⲙⲏⲧⲉ ⲛϩⲉⲛⲟⲩⲱⲛϣ
“Go! Yes, I am sending you out like lambs among wolves.
4 ⲇ̅ ⲙⲡⲣϥⲓⲧⲱⲱⲙⲉ ⲟⲩⲇⲉ ⲡⲏⲣⲁ ⲟⲩⲇⲉ ⲧⲟⲟⲩⲉ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲙⲡⲣⲁⲥⲡⲁⲍⲉ ⲗⲗⲁⲁⲩ ϩⲓⲧⲉϩⲓⲏ
Do not carry a purse, nor a knapsack, nor sandals; and greet no one along the road.
5 ⲉ̅ ⲡⲏⲓ ⲇⲉ ⲉⲧⲉⲧⲛⲁⲃⲱⲕ ⲉϩⲟⲩⲛ ⲉⲣⲟϥ ⲁϫⲓⲥ ⲛϣⲟⲣⲡ ϫⲉ ϯⲣⲏⲛⲏ ⲙⲡⲉⲓⲏⲓ
Into whatever house you enter, first say, ‘Peace to this house.’
6 ⲋ̅ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲉϣⲱⲡⲉ ⲟⲩⲛϣⲏⲣⲉ ⲛⲉⲓⲣⲏⲛⲏ ⲙⲙⲁⲩ ⲉⲣⲉⲧⲉⲧⲛⲉⲓⲣⲏⲛⲏ ⲙⲧⲟⲛ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ⲉϩⲣⲁⲓ ⲉϫⲱϥ ⲉϣⲱⲡⲉ ⲇⲉ ⲙⲙⲟⲛ ⲉⲥⲉⲕⲟⲧⲥ ⲉⲣⲱⲧⲛ
If a son of peace is there, your peace will rest upon him; but if not, it will return to you.
7 ⲍ̅ ⲉⲧⲉⲧⲛⲉϭⲱ ⲇⲉ ϩⲛ ⲟⲩⲏⲓ ⲛⲟⲩⲱⲧ ⲉⲧⲉⲧⲛⲟⲩⲱⲙ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲉⲧⲉⲧⲛⲥⲱ ⲛⲧⲟⲟⲧⲟⲩ ⲡⲉⲣⲅⲁⲧⲏⲥ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲙⲡϣⲁ ⲙⲡⲉϥⲃⲉⲕⲉ ⲙⲡⲣⲡⲱⲱⲛⲉ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲛ ⲟⲩⲏⲓ ⲉⲩⲏⲓ
Remain in that same house, eating and drinking what they offer, because the worker is worthy of his wages. Do not move around from house to house.
8 ⲏ̅ ⲧⲡⲟⲗⲉⲓⲥ ⲇⲉ ⲉⲧⲉⲧⲛⲁⲃⲱⲕ ⲉϩⲟⲩⲛ ⲉⲣⲟⲥ ⲛⲥⲉϣⲉⲡⲧⲏⲩⲧⲛ ⲉⲣⲟⲟⲩ ⲟⲩⲱⲙ ⲛⲛⲉⲧⲟⲩⲛⲁⲕⲁⲁⲩ ϩⲁⲣⲱⲧⲛ
“And into whatever town you enter, and they receive you, eat the things that are set before you.
9 ⲑ̅ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛⲧⲉⲧⲛⲧⲁⲗϭⲉⲛⲉⲧϣⲱⲛⲉ ⲛϩⲏⲧⲥ ⲛⲧⲉⲧⲛϫⲟⲟⲥ ⲛⲁⲩ ϫⲉ ⲁⲧⲙⲛⲧⲣⲣⲟ ⲙⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ ϩⲱⲛ ⲉϫⲱⲧⲛ
Heal the sick therein and say to them, ‘The Kingdom of God has come near to you.’
10 ⲓ̅ ⲧⲡⲟⲗⲉⲓⲥ ⲇⲉ ⲉⲧⲉⲧⲛⲁⲃⲱⲕ ⲉϩⲟⲩⲛ ⲉⲣⲟⲥ ⲛⲥⲉⲧⲙϣⲉⲡⲧⲏⲩⲧⲛ ⲉⲣⲟⲟⲩ ⲁⲙⲏⲓⲧⲛ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲉⲛⲉⲥⲡⲗⲁⲧⲓⲁ ⲛⲧⲉⲧⲛϫⲟⲟⲥ
But into whatever town you enter, and they do not receive you, go out into its streets and say:
11 ⲓ̅ⲁ̅ ϫⲉ ⲡⲕⲉϣⲟⲓϣ ⲉⲛⲧⲁϥⲧⲱϭⲉ ⲉⲛⲉⲛⲟⲩⲉⲣⲏⲧⲉ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲛ ⲧⲉⲧⲛⲡⲟⲗⲉⲓⲥ ⲧⲛϥⲱⲧⲉ ⲙⲙⲟϥ ⲛⲏⲧⲛ ⲡⲗⲏⲛ ⲉⲓⲙⲉ ⲉⲡⲁⲓ ϫⲉ ⲁⲧⲙⲛⲧⲣⲣⲟ ⲙⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ ϩⲱⲛ ⲉⲣⲱⲧⲛ
‘Even the dust of your town that clings to us we wipe off against you. Nonetheless know this, that the Kingdom of God has come near to you.’
12 ⲓ̅ⲃ̅ ϯϫⲱ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ⲛⲏⲧⲛ ϫⲉ ⲥⲉⲛⲁϩⲣⲟϣ ⲛϩⲏⲧ ⲉϫⲛ ⲥⲟⲇⲟⲙⲁ ϩⲙ ⲡⲉϩⲟⲟⲩ ⲉⲧⲙⲙⲁⲩ ⲉϩⲟⲩⲉⲧⲡⲟⲗⲉⲓⲥ ⲉⲧⲙⲙⲁⲩ
I say to you that it will be more tolerable in that Day for Sodom than for that town.
13 ⲓ̅ⲅ̅ ⲟⲩⲟⲓ ⲛⲉ ⲭⲟⲣⲁⲍⲉⲓⲛ ⲟⲩⲟⲓ ⲛⲉ ⲃⲏⲇⲥⲁⲓⲇⲁ ϫⲉ ⲉⲛⲉ ⲛⲧⲁⲛϭⲟⲙ ⲉⲛⲧⲁⲩϣⲱⲡⲉ ⲛϩⲏⲧⲧⲏⲩⲧⲛ ϣⲱⲡⲉ ϩⲛ ⲧⲩⲣⲟⲥ ⲛⲙⲥⲓⲇⲱⲛ ⲉϣϫⲉ ⲁⲩϩⲙⲟⲟⲥ ϩⲛ ⲟⲩϭⲟⲟⲩⲛⲉ ⲛⲙⲟⲩⲕⲣⲙⲉⲥ ⲉⲩⲙⲉⲧⲁⲛⲟⲓ
“Woe to you, Chorazin! Woe to you, Bethsaida! Because if the mighty works that were done in you had been done in Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented long ago, sitting in sackcloth and ashes.
14 ⲓ̅ⲇ̅ ⲡⲗⲏⲛ ⲥⲉⲛⲁⲁⲛⲉⲭⲉ ⲛⲧⲩⲣⲟⲥ ⲛⲙⲥⲓⲇⲱⲛ ϩⲛ ⲧⲉⲕⲣⲓⲥⲓⲥ ⲉϩⲟⲩⲉⲣⲱⲧⲛ
Nevertheless it will be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon at the Judgment than for you.
15 ⲓ̅ⲉ̅ ⲛⲧⲟ ϩⲱⲱⲧⲉ ⲕⲁⲫⲁⲣⲛⲁⲟⲩⲙ ⲙⲏ ⲧⲉⲛⲁϫⲓⲥⲉ ϣⲁϩⲣⲁⲓ ⲉⲧⲡⲉ ⲥⲉⲛⲁⲛⲧⲉ ϣⲁⲁⲙⲛⲧⲉ (Hadēs g86)
And you, Capernaum, who are ‘exalted to heaven’, will be brought down to Hades. (Hadēs g86)
16 ⲓ̅ⲋ̅ ⲡⲉⲧⲥⲱⲧⲙ ⲉⲣⲱⲧⲛ ⲉϥⲥⲱⲧⲙ ⲉⲣⲟⲓ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲡⲉⲧⲁⲑⲉⲧⲓ ⲙⲙⲱⲧⲛ ⲉϥⲁⲑⲉⲧⲓ ⲙⲙⲟⲓ ⲡⲉⲧⲁⲑⲉⲧⲓ ⲇⲉ ⲙⲙⲟⲓ ⲉϥⲁⲑⲉⲧⲓ ⲙⲡⲉⲛⲧⲁϥⲧⲛⲛⲟⲟⲩⲧ
“He who listens to you listens to me, and he who rejects you rejects me; but he who rejects me rejects Him who sent me!”
17 ⲓ̅ⲍ̅ ⲁⲩⲕⲟⲧⲟⲩ ⲇⲉ ⲛϭⲓ ⲡⲉϣϥⲉⲥⲛⲟⲟⲩⲥ ϩⲛ ⲟⲩⲣⲁϣⲉ ⲉⲩϫⲱ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ϫⲉ ⲡϫⲟⲉⲓⲥ ⲛⲕⲉⲩⲇⲁⲓⲙⲱⲛⲓⲟⲛ ⲥⲉϩⲩⲡⲟⲧⲁⲥⲥⲉ ⲛⲁⲛ ϩⲙ ⲡⲉⲕⲣⲁⲛ
Then the seventy returned with joy, saying, “Lord, even the demons are subject to us in your name!”
18 ⲓ̅ⲏ̅ ⲡⲉϫⲁϥ ⲇⲉ ⲛⲁⲩ ϫⲉ ⲛⲉⲓⲛⲁⲩ ⲉⲡⲥⲁⲧⲁⲛⲁⲥ ⲉϥⲛⲏⲟⲩ ⲉⲡⲉⲥⲏⲧ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲛ ⲧⲡⲉ ⲛⲑⲉ ⲛⲟⲩⲃⲣⲏϭⲉ
So He said to them: “I watched Satan fall like lightning out of heaven.
19 ⲓ̅ⲑ̅ ⲉⲓⲥ ϩⲏⲏⲧⲉ ⲁⲓϯ ⲛⲏⲧⲛ ⲛⲧⲉⲝⲟⲩⲥⲓⲁ ⲉϩⲱⲙ ⲉϫⲛ ⲛϩⲟϥ ⲛⲙⲟⲩⲟⲟϩⲉ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲉϫⲛ ⲧϭⲟⲙ ⲧⲏⲣⲥ ⲙⲡϫⲁϫⲉ ⲛⲧⲉⲧⲙⲗⲁⲁⲩ ϫⲓⲧⲏⲩⲧⲛ ⲛϭⲟⲛⲥ
Take note, I am giving you the authority to trample on snakes and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing at all may harm you.
20 ⲕ̅ ⲡⲗⲏⲛ ⲙⲡⲣⲣⲁϣⲉ ϩⲙ ⲡⲁⲓ ϫⲉ ⲛⲉⲡⲛⲁ ϩⲩⲡⲟⲧⲁⲥⲥⲉ ⲛⲏⲧⲛ ⲣⲁϣⲉ ⲇⲉ ⲛⲧⲟϥ ϫⲉ ⲛⲉⲧⲛⲣⲁⲛ ⲥⲏϩ ϩⲛ ⲙⲡⲏⲩⲉ
However, do not rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to you; rather rejoice because your names are written in heaven.”
21 ⲕ̅ⲁ̅ ϩⲛ ⲧⲉⲩⲛⲟⲩ ⲇⲉ ⲉⲧⲙⲙⲁⲩ ⲁϥⲧⲉⲗⲏⲗ ϩⲙ ⲡⲉⲡⲛⲁ ⲉⲧⲟⲩⲁⲁⲃ ⲡⲉϫⲁϥ ϫⲉ ϯⲉⲝⲟⲙⲟⲗⲟⲅⲓ ⲛⲁⲕ ⲡⲁⲓⲱⲧ ⲡϫⲟⲉⲓⲥ ⲛⲧⲡⲉ ⲛⲙⲡⲕⲁϩ ϫⲉ ⲁⲕϩⲉⲡⲛⲁⲓ ⲉⲛⲥⲟⲫⲟⲥ ⲛⲙⲛⲥⲁⲃⲉ ⲁⲕϭⲟⲗⲡⲟⲩ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲉϩⲉⲛϣⲏⲣⲉ ϣⲏⲙ ⲁϩⲉ ⲡⲁⲓⲱⲧ ϫⲉ ⲧⲁⲓ ⲧⲉ ⲑⲉ ⲉⲛⲧⲁⲥⲣⲁⲛⲁⲕ ⲙⲡⲉⲕⲙⲧⲟ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ
In that same hour Jesus exulted in His spirit and said: “I praise you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that you have hidden these things from the wise and intelligent, and have revealed them to ‘infants’. Yes, Father, because it pleased you to do so.”
22 ⲕ̅ⲃ̅ ⲁⲩϯ ⲛⲁⲓ ⲛϩⲱⲃ ⲛⲓⲙ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲓⲧⲙ ⲡⲁⲓⲱⲧ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲙⲙⲛⲗⲁⲁⲩ ⲥⲟⲟⲩⲛ ϫⲉ ⲛⲓⲙ ⲡⲉ ⲡϣⲏⲣⲉ ⲛⲥⲁⲡⲓⲱⲧ ⲏ ⲛⲓⲙ ⲡⲉ ⲡⲓⲱⲧ ⲛⲥⲁⲡϣⲏⲣⲉ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲡⲉⲧⲉⲣⲉ ⲡϣⲏⲣⲉ ⲛⲁⲟⲩⲁϣϥ ϣⲁϥϭⲱⲗⲡ ⲛⲁϥ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ
And turning to the disciples He said: “All things have been entrusted to me by my Father; also, no one knows who the Son is except the Father, and who the Father is except the Son, and to whomever the Son may choose to reveal Him.”
23 ⲕ̅ⲅ̅ ⲁϥⲕⲟⲧϥ ⲇⲉ ⲉⲙⲙⲁⲑⲏⲧⲏⲥ ⲛⲥⲁⲟⲩⲥⲁ ⲡⲉϫⲁϥ ⲛⲁⲩ ϫⲉ ⲛⲁⲓⲁⲧⲟⲩ ⲛⲃⲃⲁⲗ ⲉⲧⲛⲁⲩ ⲉⲛⲉⲧⲉⲧⲛⲛⲁⲩ ⲉⲣⲟⲟⲩ
Then turning to His disciples privately He said: “Blessed are the eyes that are seeing the things that you see;
24 ⲕ̅ⲇ̅ ϯϫⲱ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ⲛⲏⲧⲛ ϫⲉ ⲁϩⲁϩ ⲙⲡⲣⲟⲫⲏⲧⲏⲥ ϩⲓⲣⲣⲟ ⲟⲩⲉϣ ⲛⲁⲩ ⲉⲛⲉⲧⲉⲧⲛⲛⲁⲩ ⲉⲣⲟⲟⲩ ⲙⲡⲟⲩⲛⲁⲩ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲉⲥⲱⲧⲙ ⲉⲣⲟⲓ ⲉⲛⲉⲧⲉⲧⲛⲥⲱⲧⲙ ⲉⲣⲟⲟⲩ ⲙⲡⲟⲩⲥⲱⲧⲙ
for I say to you that many prophets and kings have desired to see what you are seeing but did not, and to hear what you are hearing but did not.”
25 ⲕ̅ⲉ̅ ⲉⲓⲥⲟⲩⲛⲟⲙⲓⲕⲟⲥ ⲇⲉ ⲁϥⲧⲱⲟⲩⲛ ⲉϥⲡⲉⲓⲣⲁⲍⲉ ⲙⲙⲟϥ ⲉϥϫⲱ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ϫⲉ ⲡⲥⲁϩ ⲉⲓⲛⲁⲣⲟⲩ ⲧⲁⲕⲗⲏⲣⲟⲛⲟⲙⲓ ⲙⲡⲱⲛϩ ϣⲁ ⲉⲛⲉϩ (aiōnios g166)
And then, a certain lawyer stood up to test Him, saying, “Teacher, what must I do to inherit eternal life?” (aiōnios g166)
26 ⲕ̅ⲋ̅ ⲛⲧⲟϥ ⲇⲉ ⲡⲉϫⲁϥ ϫⲉ ⲟⲩ ⲡⲉⲧⲥⲏϩ ϩⲙ ⲡⲛⲟⲙⲟⲥ ⲉⲕⲱϣ ⲛⲁϣ ⲛϩⲉ
So He said to him: “What is written in the Law? How do you read it?”
27 ⲕ̅ⲍ̅ ⲛⲧⲟϥ ⲇⲉ ⲡⲉϫⲁϥ ϫⲉ ⲉⲕⲉⲙⲉⲣⲉ ⲡϫⲟⲉⲓⲥ ⲡⲉⲕⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ ϩⲙ ⲡⲉⲕϩⲏⲧ ⲧⲏⲣϥ ⲛⲙ ⲧⲉⲕⲯⲩⲭⲏ ⲧⲏⲣⲥ ⲛⲙ ⲧⲉⲕϭⲟⲙ ⲧⲏⲣⲥ ⲙⲛ ⲛⲉⲕⲙⲉⲉⲩⲉ ⲧⲏⲣⲟⲩ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲡⲉⲧϩⲓⲧⲟⲩⲱⲕ ⲛⲧⲉⲕϩⲉ
In answer he said: “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your strength, and with all your mind, and, your neighbor as yourself.”
28 ⲕ̅ⲏ̅ ⲡⲉϫⲁϥ ⲇⲉ ⲛⲁϥ ϫⲉ ⲁⲕⲟⲩⲱϣⲃ ϩⲛ ⲟⲩⲥⲟⲟⲩⲧⲛ ⲁⲣⲓ ⲡⲁⲓ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲕⲛⲁⲱⲛϩ
So He said to him, “You have answered correctly; do this and you will live!”
29 ⲕ̅ⲑ̅ ⲛⲧⲟϥ ⲇⲉ ⲉϥⲟⲩⲉϣ ⲧⲙⲁⲓⲟϥ ⲡⲉϫⲁϥ ⲛⲓⲏⲥ ϫⲉ ⲛⲓⲙ ⲡⲉ ⲡⲉⲧϩⲓⲧⲟⲩⲱⲓ
But he, wanting to justify himself, said to Jesus, “And who is my neighbor?”
30 ⲗ̅ ⲁⲓⲏⲥ ⲟⲩⲱϣⲃ ⲡⲉϫⲁϥ ⲛⲁϥ ϫⲉ ⲟⲩⲣⲱⲙⲉ ⲡⲉⲛⲧⲁϥⲉⲓ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲛ ⲑⲓⲉⲣⲟⲥⲟⲗⲩⲙⲁ ⲉⲓⲉⲣⲓⲭⲱ ⲁϥⲉⲓ ⲉⲧⲟⲟⲧⲟⲩ ⲛϩⲉⲛⲙⲁ ⲛⲥⲟⲟⲛⲉ ⲛⲁⲓ ⲇⲉ ⲁⲩⲕⲁⲁϥ ⲕⲁϩⲏⲟⲩ ⲁⲩϫϥϩⲉⲛⲥⲁϣ ⲁⲩⲃⲱⲕ ⲁⲩⲕⲁⲁϥ ⲉϥⲟ ⲙⲡϣⲙⲟⲩ
By way of reply Jesus said: “A certain man was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and as it chanced he ran into robbers, who after having stripped and wounded him, departed, leaving him half dead.
31 ⲗ̅ⲁ̅ ϩⲛ ⲟⲩϣⲥⲛⲉ ⲇⲉ ⲁⲩⲟⲩⲏⲏⲃ ⲉⲓ ⲉⲡⲉⲥⲏⲧ ϩⲓⲧⲉϩⲓⲏ ⲉⲧⲙⲙⲁⲩ ⲁϥⲛⲁⲩ ⲉⲣⲟϥ ⲁϥⲥⲁⲁⲧϥ
Now by coincidence a certain priest was going down that road, and when he saw him he passed by on the other side.
32 ⲗ̅ⲃ̅ ϩⲟⲙⲟⲓⲱⲥ ⲟⲛ ⲟⲩⲗⲉⲩⲉⲧⲏⲥ ⲛⲧⲉⲣⲉϥⲉⲓ ⲉϫⲙⲡⲙⲁ ⲉⲧⲙⲙⲁⲩ ⲁϥⲛⲁⲩ ⲉⲣⲟϥ ⲁϥⲥⲁⲁⲧϥ
So too, a Levite, when he arrived at the place, came and looked, and passed by on the other side.
33 ⲗ̅ⲅ̅ ⲁⲩⲥⲁⲙⲁⲣⲓⲧⲏⲥ ⲇⲉ ⲉϥⲙⲟⲟϣⲉ ⲉⲓ ⲉϫⲱϥ ⲁϥⲛⲁⲩ ⲉⲣⲟϥ ⲁϥϣⲛϩⲧⲏϥ ⲉϩⲣⲁⲓ ⲉϫⲱϥ
But a certain Samaritan, as he traveled, came by there, and upon seeing him was moved with compassion;
34 ⲗ̅ⲇ̅ ⲁϥϯ ⲡⲉϥⲟⲩⲟⲓ ⲉⲣⲟϥ ⲁϥⲙⲟⲩⲣ ⲛⲛⲉϥⲥⲁϣ ⲁϥⲡⲱϩⲧ ⲛⲟⲩⲛⲉϩ ⲉϫⲱⲟⲩ ⲛⲙⲟⲩⲏⲣⲡ ⲁϥⲧⲁⲗⲟϥ ⲉϫⲛ ⲡⲉϥⲧⲃⲛⲏ ⲙⲙⲓⲛ ⲙⲙⲟϥ ⲁϥⲛⲧϥ ⲉⲩⲡⲁⲛⲧⲟⲭⲓⲟⲛ ⲁϥϥⲓⲡⲉϥⲣⲟⲟⲩϣ
and going to him he bound up his wounds, applying oil and wine. Then he placed him on his own mount, brought him to an inn, and took care of him.
35 ⲗ̅ⲉ̅ ⲙⲡⲉϥⲣⲁⲥⲧⲉ ⲇⲉ ⲉϥⲛⲏⲟⲩ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲁϥϯϥⲕⲏⲧⲉ ⲙⲡⲡⲁⲛⲧⲟⲭⲉⲩⲥ ⲡⲉϫⲁϥ ⲛⲁϥ ϫⲉ ϥⲓⲡⲉϥⲣⲟⲟⲩϣ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲡⲉⲧⲕⲛⲁϫⲟϥ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲉⲣⲟϥ ⲉⲓϣⲁⲛⲕⲧⲟⲓ ϯⲛⲁⲧⲁⲁϥ ⲛⲁⲕ
On the next day, when he departed, he took out two denarii, gave them to the innkeeper, and said to him, ‘Take care of him; and should you spend more, I will repay you when I return.’
36 ⲗ̅ⲋ̅ ⲛⲓⲙ ⲙⲡⲉⲓϣⲟⲙⲛⲧ ⲛⲛⲁϩⲣⲁⲕ ⲡⲉⲛⲧⲁϥⲣ ⲡⲉⲧϩⲓⲧⲟⲩⲱϥ ⲙⲡⲉⲛⲧⲁϥⲉⲓ ⲉⲧⲟⲟⲧⲟⲩ ⲛⲛⲥⲟⲟⲛⲉ
So which of these three, would you say, was ‘neighbor’ to him who ran into the robbers?”
37 ⲗ̅ⲍ̅ ⲛⲧⲟϥ ⲇⲉ ⲡⲉϫⲁϥ ⲛⲁϥ ϫⲉ ⲡⲉⲛⲧⲁϥⲣⲡⲛⲁ ⲛⲙⲙⲁϥ ⲡⲉ ⲡⲉϫⲉ ⲓⲏⲥ ⲇⲉ ⲛⲁϥ ϫⲉ ⲃⲱⲕ ϩⲱⲱⲕ ⲛⲅⲉⲓⲣⲉ ϩⲓⲛⲁⲓ
He said, “The one who showed mercy on him.” So Jesus said to him, “Go and do likewise!”
38 ⲗ̅ⲏ̅ ϩⲙ ⲡⲧⲣⲉⲩⲙⲟⲟϣⲉ ⲇⲉ ⲛⲧⲟϥ ⲁϥⲃⲱⲕ ⲉϩⲟⲩⲛ ⲉⲩϯⲙⲉ ⲁⲩⲥϩⲓⲙⲉ ⲉⲡⲉⲥⲣⲁⲛ ⲡⲉ ⲙⲁⲣⲑⲁ ϣⲟⲡϥ ⲉⲣⲟⲥ
Now it happened as they traveled that He entered a certain village; and a certain woman named Martha welcomed Him into her house.
39 ⲗ̅ⲑ̅ ⲛⲉⲟⲩⲛⲧⲥ ⲟⲩⲥⲱⲛⲉ ⲇⲉ ⲡⲉ ⲉϣⲁⲩⲙⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲉⲣⲟⲥ ϫⲉ ⲙⲁⲣⲓⲁ ⲧⲁⲓ ⲇⲉ ⲁⲥϩⲙⲟⲟⲥ ϩⲁⲧⲛ ⲟⲩⲉⲣⲏⲧⲉ ⲙⲡϫⲟⲉⲓⲥ ⲁⲥⲥⲱⲧⲙ ⲉⲡⲉϥϣⲁϫⲉ
And she had a sister called Mary, who actually sat at Jesus' feet listening to His words.
40 ⲙ̅ ⲙⲁⲣⲑⲁ ⲇⲉ ⲛⲉⲥⲡⲉⲣⲓⲥⲡⲁ ⲡⲉ ⲉⲩⲛⲟϭ ⲛⲇⲓⲁⲕⲟⲛⲓⲁ ⲁⲥⲁϩⲉⲣⲁⲧⲥ ⲉϫⲱϥ ⲡⲉϫⲁⲥ ⲛⲁϥ ϫⲉ ⲡϫⲟⲉⲓⲥ ⲙⲡⲉⲕⲣⲟⲟⲩϣ ⲁⲛ ⲡⲉ ϫⲉ ⲁⲧⲁⲥⲱⲛⲉ ⲕⲁⲁⲧ ⲙⲁⲩⲁⲁⲧ ⲉⲓⲇⲓⲁⲕⲟⲛⲓ ⲁϫⲓⲥ ϭⲉ ⲛⲁⲥ ϫⲉⲕⲁⲥ ⲉⲥⲉⲡⲱϣⲛ ⲉⲣⲟⲓ
Well Martha was distracted with much serving; so coming up she said: “Lord, don't you care that my sister has left me to serve alone? Do please tell her to help me!”
41 ⲙ̅ⲁ̅ ⲁⲡϫⲟⲉⲓⲥ ⲇⲉ ⲟⲩⲱϣⲃ ⲛⲁⲥ ⲡⲉϫⲁϥ ϫⲉ ⲙⲁⲣⲑⲁ ⲙⲁⲣⲑⲁ ⲧⲉϥⲓⲣⲟⲟⲩϣ ϩⲁϩⲁϩ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲧⲉϣⲧⲣⲧⲱⲣ
But in answer Jesus said to her: “Martha, Martha, you are anxious and agitated about many things,
42 ⲙ̅ⲃ̅ ⲟⲩⲁ ⲇⲉ ⲡⲉⲧⲟⲩⲣⲭⲣⲓⲁ ⲙⲙⲟϥ ⲙⲁⲣⲓⲁ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲁⲥⲥⲉⲧⲡ ⲧⲧⲟ ⲛⲁⲥ ⲉⲧⲛⲁⲛⲟⲩⲥ ⲧⲁⲓ ⲉⲛⲥⲉⲛⲁϥⲓⲧⲥ ⲛⲧⲟⲟⲧⲥ ⲁⲛ
but only one is needed. However, Mary has chosen the good part, which will not be taken away from her.”
