1 ⲁ̅
Jesus went to the Mount of Olives.
2 ⲃ̅
And at dawn He went again into the temple, and all the people were coming to Him; so sitting down He started to teach them.
3 ⲅ̅
Then the scribes and the Pharisees bring to Him a woman caught in adultery; and placing her in the center
4 ⲇ̅
they say to Him: “Teacher, we found this woman committing adultery, in the very act.
5 ⲉ̅
Now in our law Moses commanded that such women are to be stoned; so what do you say?”
6 ⲋ̅
They said this to test Him, so that they might have an accusation against Him. But stooping down Jesus began to write on the ground with His finger, taking no notice.
7 ⲍ̅
But since they kept on asking Him, straightening up He said to them, “Let the one without sin among you throw the first stone at her.”
8 ⲏ̅
And stooping down again He continued writing on the ground.
9 ⲑ̅
Now upon hearing this, and being convicted by their conscience, they began to go out one by one, starting with the older ones down to the least. So only Jesus was left, with the woman in the center.
10 ⲓ̅
So straightening up, and not seeing anyone except the woman, Jesus said to her: “Where are those accusers of yours? Has no one condemned you?”
11 ⲓ̅ⲁ̅
So she said, “No one, Lord.” Jesus said to her: “Neither do I condemn you. Go, and from now on don't sin any more!”
12 ⲓ̅ⲃ̅ ⲓⲥ ϭⲉ ⲟⲛ ⲁϥϣⲁϫⲉ ⲛⲙⲙⲁⲩ ⲉϥϫⲱ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ϫⲉ ⲁⲛⲟⲕ ⲡⲉ ⲡⲟⲩⲟⲓⲛ ⲙⲡⲕⲟⲥⲙⲟⲥ ⲡⲉⲧⲛⲁⲟⲩⲁϩϥ ⲛⲥⲱⲉⲓ ⲛϥⲛⲁⲙⲟⲟϣⲉ ⲁⲛ ϩⲙ ⲡⲕⲁⲕⲉ ⲁⲗⲗⲁ ϥⲛⲁϫⲓ ⲙⲡⲟⲩⲟⲓⲛ ⲙⲡⲱⲛϩ
Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying: “I am the Light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk around in the darkness, but will have the light of the Life.”
13 ⲓ̅ⲅ̅ ⲡⲉϫⲉ ⲛⲉⲫⲁⲣⲓⲥⲁⲓⲟⲥ ϭⲉ ⲛⲁϥ ϫⲉ ⲛⲧⲟⲕ ⲉⲕⲣ ⲙⲛⲧⲣⲉ ϩⲁⲣⲟⲕ ⲧⲉⲕⲙⲛⲧⲙⲛⲧⲣⲉ ⲟⲩⲙⲉ ⲁⲛ ⲧⲉ
So the Pharisees said to Him, “You are testifying about yourself; your testimony is not valid.”
14 ⲓ̅ⲇ̅ ⲁⲓⲥ ⲟⲩⲱϣⲃ ⲡⲉϫⲁϥ ⲛⲁⲩ ϫⲉ ⲕⲁⲛ ⲁⲛⲟⲕ ⲉⲉⲓϣⲁⲛⲣ ⲙⲛⲧⲣⲉ ϩⲁⲣⲟⲉⲓ ⲧⲁⲙⲛⲧⲙⲛⲧⲣⲉ ⲟⲩⲙⲉ 〚ⲁⲛ〛 ⲧⲉ ϫⲉ ϯⲥⲟⲟⲩⲛ ϫⲉ ⲛⲧⲁⲓⲉⲓ ⲧⲱⲛ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲉⲓⲛⲁ ⲉⲧⲱⲛ ⲛⲧⲱⲧⲛ ⲛⲧⲉⲧⲛⲥⲟⲟⲩⲛ ⲁⲛ ϫⲉ ⲛⲧⲁⲉⲓ ⲧⲱⲛ ⲏ ⲉⲓⲛⲁ ⲉⲧⲱⲛ
Jesus answered and said to them: “Even though I testify about myself, my testimony is valid, because I know where I came from and where I am going. But you do not know where I come from or where I am going.
15 ⲓ̅ⲉ̅ ⲛⲧⲱⲧⲛ ⲉⲧⲉⲧⲛⲕⲣⲓⲛⲉ ⲕⲁⲧⲁ ⲥⲁⲣⲝ ⲁⲛⲟⲕ ⲛϯⲕⲣⲓⲛⲉ ⲁⲛ ⲗⲗⲁⲁⲩ
You are judging according to the flesh; I am not judging anyone.
16 ⲓ̅ⲋ̅ ⲕⲁⲛ ⲉⲓϣⲁⲛⲕⲣⲓⲛⲉ ⲇⲉ ⲁⲛⲟⲕ ⲧⲁⲕⲣⲓⲥⲓⲥ ⲟⲩⲙⲉⲉ ⲧⲉ ϫⲉ ⲛⲁⲛⲟⲕ ⲁⲛ ⲙⲙⲁⲧⲉ ⲡⲉ ⲁⲗⲗⲁ ⲁⲛⲟⲕ ⲙⲛ ⲡⲓⲱⲧ ⲉⲛⲧⲁϥⲧⲁⲟⲩⲟⲉⲓ
Yet even if I do judge, my judging is valid, in that I am not alone in judging, but I and the Father who sent me are together.
17 ⲓ̅ⲍ̅ ϥⲥⲏϩ ⲇⲉ ⲟⲛ ϩⲙ ⲡⲉⲧⲛⲛⲟⲙⲟⲥ ϫⲉ ⲧⲙⲛⲧⲙⲛⲧⲣⲉ ⲛⲣⲱⲙⲉ ⲥⲛⲁⲩ ⲟⲩⲙⲉ ⲧⲉ
It is written precisely in your law that the testimony of two men is valid:
18 ⲓ̅ⲏ̅ ⲁⲛⲟⲕ ⲡⲉⲧⲣ ⲙⲛⲧⲣⲉ ϩⲁⲣⲟⲉⲓ ⲁⲩⲱ ϥⲣ ⲙⲛⲧⲣⲉ ⲟⲛ ϩⲁⲣⲟⲓ ⲛϭⲓ ⲡⲉⲓⲱⲧ ⲉⲛⲧⲁϥⲧⲁⲟⲩⲟⲉⲓ
I am one testifying concerning myself and the Father who sent me testifies concerning me.”
19 ⲓ̅ⲑ̅ ⲛⲉⲩϫⲱ ϭⲉ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ⲛⲁϥ ϫⲉ ⲉϥⲧⲱⲛ ⲡⲉⲕⲉⲓⲱⲧ ⲁϥⲟⲩⲱϣⲃ ⲛϭⲓ ⲓⲥ ⲡⲉϫⲁϥ ⲛⲁⲩ ϫⲉ ⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲛⲧⲉⲧⲛⲥⲟⲟⲩⲛ ⲙⲙⲟⲓ ⲁⲛ ⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲟⲛ ⲛⲧⲉⲧⲛⲥⲟⲟⲩⲛ ⲁⲛ ⲙⲡⲁⲓⲱⲧ ⲉⲛⲉⲧⲉⲧⲛⲥⲟⲟⲩⲛ ⲙⲙⲟⲓ ⲛⲉⲧⲉⲧⲛⲁⲥⲟⲩⲛ ⲡⲁⲓⲱⲧ ⲟⲛ ⲡⲉ
Then they said to Him, “Where is your father?” Jesus answered: “You know neither me nor my Father. If you knew me you would also know my Father.”
20 ⲕ̅ ⲛⲉⲉⲓϣⲁϫⲉ ⲁϥϫⲟⲟⲩ ϩⲙ ⲡⲅⲁⲍⲟⲫⲩⲗⲁⲕⲓⲟⲛ ⲉϥϯ ⲥⲃⲱ ϩⲙ ⲡⲉⲣⲡⲉ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲙⲡⲉⲗⲁⲁⲩ ϭⲟⲡϥ ϫⲉ ⲙⲡⲁⲧⲉⲧⲉϥⲟⲩⲛⲟⲩ ⲉⲓ
Jesus spoke these words in the treasury, while teaching in the temple; yet no one arrested Him, because His time had not yet come.
21 ⲕ̅ⲁ̅ ⲡⲉϫⲁϥ ϭⲉ ⲟⲛ ⲛⲁⲩ ⲛϭⲓ ⲓⲥ ϫⲉ ⲁⲛⲟⲕ ϯⲛⲁⲃⲱⲕ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲧⲉⲧⲛⲁϣⲓⲛⲉ ⲛⲥⲱⲉⲓ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲧⲉⲧⲛⲁⲙⲟⲩ ϩⲣⲁⲓ ϩⲙ ⲡⲉⲧⲛⲛⲟⲃⲉ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲡⲙⲁ ⲁⲛⲟⲕ ⲉϯⲛⲁⲃⲱⲕ ⲉⲣⲟϥ ⲛⲧⲱⲧⲛ ⲙⲛ ϣϭⲟⲙ ⲙⲙⲱⲧⲛ ⲉⲉⲓ ⲉⲙⲙⲁⲩ
Then Jesus said to them again: “I am going away, and you will look for me, and you will die in your sin. Where I am going you cannot come.”
22 ⲕ̅ⲃ̅ ⲛⲉⲩϫⲱ ϭⲉ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ⲛϭⲓ ⲛⲓⲟⲩⲇⲁⲓ ϫⲉ ⲙⲏⲧⲓ ⲉϥⲛⲁⲙⲟⲩⲟⲩⲧ ⲙⲙⲟϥ ϫⲉ ϥϫⲱ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ϫⲉ ⲡⲙⲁ ⲁⲛⲟⲕ ⲉϯⲛⲁⲃⲱⲕ ⲉⲣⲟϥ ⲛⲧⲱⲧⲛ ⲛⲧⲉⲧⲛⲁϣ ⲉⲓ ⲁⲛ ⲉⲙⲙⲁⲩ
So the Jews said, “He won't kill himself, will he, since he says, ‘Where I am going you cannot come’?”
23 ⲕ̅ⲅ̅ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲡⲉϫⲁϥ ⲛⲁⲩ ϫⲉ ⲛⲧⲱⲧⲛ ⲛⲧⲉⲧⲛ ϩⲉⲛⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲙ ⲡⲕⲁϩ ⲁⲛⲟⲕ ⲁⲛⲅ ⲟⲩⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲛ ⲧⲡⲉ ⲛⲧⲱⲧⲛ ⲛⲧⲉⲧⲛ ϩⲉⲛⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲙ ⲡⲉⲓⲕⲟⲥⲙⲟⲥ ⲁⲛⲟⲕ ⲁⲛⲅ ⲟⲩⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲁⲛ ϩⲙ ⲡⲉⲓⲕⲟⲥⲙⲟⲥ
He said to them: “You are from below; I am from Above. You are of this world; I am not of this world.
24 ⲕ̅ⲇ̅ ⲁⲓϫⲟⲟⲥ ϭⲉ ⲛⲏⲧⲛ ϫⲉ ⲧⲉⲧⲛⲁⲙⲟⲩ ϩⲛ ⲛⲉⲧⲛⲛⲟⲃⲉ ⲉⲧⲉⲧⲛⲧⲙⲡⲓⲥⲧⲉⲩⲉ ⲅⲁⲣ ϫⲉ ⲁⲛⲟⲕ ⲡⲉ ⲧⲉⲧⲛⲁⲙⲟⲩ ϩⲛ ⲛⲉⲧⲛⲛⲟⲃⲉ
That is why I told you that you will die in your sins, because if you do not believe that I am, you will die in your sins.”
25 ⲕ̅ⲉ̅ ⲛⲉⲩϫⲱ ϭⲉ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ⲛⲁϥ ϫⲉ ⲛⲧⲟⲕ ⲛⲧⲕ ⲛⲓⲙ ⲡⲉϫⲉ ⲓⲥ ⲛⲁⲩ ϫⲉ ϫⲓⲛ ⲛϣⲟⲣⲡ ϯϣⲁϫⲉ ⲛⲙⲙⲏⲧⲛ
So they said to Him, “Who are you?” And Jesus said to them: “Just what I have been saying to you from the beginning.
26 ⲕ̅ⲋ̅ ⲉⲩⲛϯ ϩⲁϩ ⲉϫⲱ ⲉⲧⲃⲉ ⲧⲏⲩⲧⲛ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲉⲕⲣⲓⲛⲉ ⲁⲗⲗⲁ ⲟⲩⲙⲉ ⲡⲉ ⲡⲉⲛⲧⲁϥⲧⲁⲟⲩⲟⲉⲓ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲁⲛⲟⲕ ⲛⲉⲛⲧⲁⲓⲥⲟⲧⲙⲟⲩ ⲛⲧⲟⲟⲧϥ ⲛⲁⲓ ⲛⲉϯϫⲱ ⲙⲙⲟⲟⲩ ⲉⲡⲕⲟⲥⲙⲟⲥ
I have many things to say and to judge about you, but He who sent me is true, and what I myself have heard from Him—these things I say to the world.”
27 ⲕ̅ⲍ̅ ⲙⲡⲟⲩⲉⲓⲙⲉ ϫⲉ ⲉϥϣⲁϫⲉ ⲛⲙⲙⲁⲩ ⲉⲧⲃⲉ ⲡⲉⲓⲱⲧ
They did not understand that He was speaking to them about the Father.
28 ⲕ̅ⲏ̅ ⲡⲉϫⲁϥ ϭⲉ ⲛⲁⲩ ⲛϭⲓ ⲓⲥ ϫⲉ ϩⲟⲧⲁⲛ ⲉⲧⲉⲧⲛϣⲁⲛϫⲓⲥⲉ ⲙⲡϣⲏⲣⲉ ⲙⲡⲣⲱⲙⲉ ⲧⲟⲧⲉ ⲧⲉⲧⲛⲁⲉⲓⲙⲉ ϫⲉ ⲁⲛⲟⲕ ⲡⲉ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛϯⲣ ⲗⲁⲁⲩ ⲁⲛ ϩⲁⲣⲟⲓ ⲙⲙⲁⲩⲁⲁⲧ ⲁⲗⲗⲁ ⲕⲁⲧⲁ ⲑⲉ ⲉⲛⲧⲁⲡⲁⲉⲓⲱⲧ ⲧⲥⲁⲃⲟⲉⲓ ⲛⲁⲓ ⲛⲉϯϫⲱ ⲙⲙⲟⲟⲩ
Then Jesus said to them: “When you lift up the Son of the Man, then you will know that I am and that I do nothing from myself; but just as my Father has taught me, these things I speak.
29 ⲕ̅ⲑ̅ ⲁⲩⲱ ϥϣⲟⲟⲡ ⲛⲙⲙⲁⲓ ⲛϭⲓ ⲡⲉⲛⲧⲁϥⲧⲁⲟⲩⲟⲓ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲙⲡϥⲕⲁⲁⲧ ⲙⲙⲁⲩⲁⲁⲧ ϫⲉ ⲁⲛⲟⲕ ϯⲉⲓⲣⲉ ⲛⲛⲉⲧⲣ ⲁⲛⲁϥ ⲛⲟⲩⲟⲓϣ ⲛⲓⲙ
And the One who sent me is with me. The Father has not left me alone, because I always do the things that please Him.”
30 ⲗ̅ ⲛⲁⲓ ⲉϥϫⲱ ⲙⲙⲟⲟⲩ ⲁϩⲁϩ ⲡⲓⲥⲧⲉⲩⲉ ⲉⲣⲟϥ
While He was saying these things many believed into Him.
31 ⲗ̅ⲁ̅ ⲓⲥ ϭⲉ ⲛⲉϥϫⲱ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ⲛⲓⲟⲩⲇⲁⲓ ⲉⲛⲧⲁⲩⲡⲓⲥⲧⲉⲩⲉ ⲉⲣⲟϥ ϫⲉ ⲉϣⲱⲡⲉ ⲛⲧⲱⲧⲛ ⲉⲧⲉⲧⲛϣⲁⲛϭⲱ ϩⲙ ⲡϣⲁϫⲉ ⲛⲧⲉⲧⲛ ⲛⲁⲙⲁⲑⲏⲧⲏⲥ ⲛⲁⲙⲉ
So Jesus said to those Jews who had believed Him: “If you abide in my word, you really are my disciples;
32 ⲗ̅ⲃ̅ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲧⲉⲧⲛⲁⲥⲟⲩⲛ ⲧⲙⲉ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲧⲙⲉ ⲛⲁⲣⲧⲏⲩⲧⲛ ⲛⲣⲙϩⲉ
and you will know the Truth, and the Truth will make you free.”
33 ⲗ̅ⲅ̅ ⲁⲩⲟⲩⲱϣⲃ ⲛⲁϥ ⲡⲉϫⲁⲩ ϫⲉ ⲁⲛⲟⲛ ⲡⲉⲥⲡⲉⲣⲙⲁ ⲛⲁⲃⲣⲁϩⲁⲙ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲙⲡⲛⲣ ϩⲙϩⲁⲗ ⲗⲗⲁⲁⲩ ⲉⲛⲉϩ ⲛⲁϣ ⲛϩⲉ ⲛⲧⲟⲕ ⲕϫⲱ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ϫⲉ ⲧⲉⲧⲛⲁⲣ ⲣⲙϩⲉ
They answered and said to Him: “We are descendants of Abraham and have never been enslaved to anyone. How can you say, ‘You will be made free’?”
34 ⲗ̅ⲇ̅ ⲁϥⲟⲩⲱϣⲃ ⲛⲁⲩ ⲛϭⲓ ⲓⲥ ϫⲉ ϩⲁⲙⲏⲛ ϩⲁⲙⲏⲛ ϯϫⲱ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ⲛⲏⲧⲛ ϫⲉ ⲡⲉⲧⲓⲣⲉ ⲙⲡⲛⲟⲃⲉ ϥⲟ ⲛϩⲙϩⲁⲗ ⲙⲡⲛⲟⲃⲉ
Jesus answered them: “I tell you most assuredly that everyone committing sin is a slave of sin.
35 ⲗ̅ⲉ̅ ⲡϩⲙϩⲁⲗ ⲇⲉ ⲛϥⲛⲁϭⲱ ⲁⲛ ϩⲙ ⲡⲏⲓ ϣⲁ ⲉⲛⲉϩ ⲡϣⲏⲣⲉ ⲇⲉ ⲛⲧⲟϥ ⲛⲁϭⲱ ϣⲁ ⲉⲛⲉϩ (aiōn g165)
Now the slave does not remain in the household forever; the son does remain forever. (aiōn g165)
36 ⲗ̅ⲋ̅ ⲉⲣϣⲁⲡϣⲏⲣⲉ ϭⲉ ⲣⲧⲏⲩⲧⲛ ⲣⲣⲙϩⲉ ⲟⲛⲧⲱⲥ ⲧⲉⲧⲛⲁϣⲱⲡⲉ ⲛⲣⲙϩⲉ
Therefore, if the Son should make you free, you really will be free.
37 ⲗ̅ⲍ̅ ϯⲥⲟⲟⲩⲛ ϫⲉ ⲛⲧⲉⲧⲛ ⲡⲉⲥⲡⲉⲣⲙⲁ ⲛⲁⲃⲣⲁϩⲁⲙ ⲁⲗⲗⲁ ⲧⲉⲧⲛϣⲓⲛⲉ ⲛⲥⲱⲉⲓ ⲉⲙⲟⲟⲩⲧ ϫⲉ ⲡⲁϣⲁϫⲉ ⲛϥⲟⲩⲏϩ ⲁⲛ ⲛϩⲏⲧⲧⲏⲩⲧⲛ
I know that you are descendants of Abraham, but you are wanting to kill me because my word finds no place in you.
38 ⲗ̅ⲏ̅ ⲁⲛⲟⲕ ⲛⲉⲛⲧⲁⲓⲛⲁⲩ ⲉⲣⲟⲟⲩ ⲛⲧⲙ ⲡⲁⲓⲱⲧ ⲛⲉϯϫⲱ ⲙⲙⲟⲟⲩ ⲛⲧⲱⲧⲛ ϭⲉ ϩⲱⲧⲧⲏⲩⲧⲛ ⲛⲉⲛⲧⲁⲧⲉⲧⲛⲛⲁⲩ ⲉⲣⲟⲟⲩ ⲛⲧⲙ ⲡⲉⲧⲛⲉⲓⲱⲧ ⲁⲣⲓⲥⲟⲩ
On my part, I speak what I have observed with my Father, while on your part you do what you have observed with your father.”
39 ⲗ̅ⲑ̅ ⲁⲩⲟⲩⲱϣⲃ ⲉⲩϫⲱ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ⲛⲁϥ ϫⲉ ⲡⲉⲛⲉⲓⲱⲧ ⲡⲉ ⲁⲃⲣⲁϩⲁⲙ ⲡⲉϫⲉ ⲓⲥ ⲛⲁⲩ ϫⲉ ⲉⲛⲉⲛⲧⲉⲧⲛⲛϣⲏⲣⲉ ⲛⲁⲃⲣⲁϩⲁⲙ ⲛⲉⲧⲉⲧⲛⲁⲣ ⲛⲉϩⲃⲏⲩⲉ ⲛⲁⲃⲣⲁϩⲁⲙ
They answered and said to Him, “Our father is Abraham!” Jesus says to them: “If you were children of Abraham, you would do the works of Abraham;
40 ⲙ̅ ⲧⲉⲛⲟⲩ ⲇⲉ ⲧⲉⲧⲛϣⲓⲛⲉ ⲛⲥⲱⲉⲓ ⲉⲙⲟⲟⲩⲧ ⲟⲩⲣⲱⲙⲉ ⲉϥϫⲱ ⲛⲏⲧⲛ ⲛⲧⲙⲉ ⲧⲁⲓ ⲉⲛⲧⲁϥⲥⲟⲧⲙⲉⲥ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲓⲧⲙ ⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲙⲡⲉⲁⲃⲣⲁϩⲁⲙ ⲣ ⲡⲁⲓ
but now you are wanting to kill me, a man who has told you the truth which I heard from God. This sort of thing Abraham did not do!
41 ⲙ̅ⲁ̅ ⲛⲧⲱⲧⲛ ⲉⲧⲉⲧⲛⲓⲣⲉ ⲛⲛⲉϩⲃⲏⲩⲉ ⲙⲡⲉⲧⲛⲉⲓⲱⲧ ⲡⲉϫⲁⲩ ϭⲉ ⲛⲁϥ ϫⲉ ⲁⲛⲟⲛ ⲛⲧⲁⲩϫⲡⲟⲛ ⲁⲛ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲛ ⲟⲩⲡⲟⲣⲛⲓⲁ ⲟⲩⲓⲱⲧ ⲛⲟⲩⲱⲧ ⲡⲉⲧϣⲟⲟⲡ ⲛⲁⲛ ⲉⲧⲉ ⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲡⲉ
You do the works of your father.” Then they said to Him, “We were not born of fornication; we have one Father—God.”
42 ⲙ̅ⲃ̅ ⲡⲉϫⲉ ⲓⲥ ϭⲉ ⲛⲁⲩ ϫⲉ ⲉⲛⲉ ⲡⲉⲧⲛⲉⲓⲱⲧ ⲡⲉ ⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲛⲉⲧⲉⲧⲛⲁⲙⲉⲣⲓⲧ ⲡⲉ ⲁⲛⲟⲕ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲛⲧⲁⲓⲉⲓ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲉⲓⲛⲏⲩ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲓⲧⲙ ⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲛⲧⲁⲓⲉⲓ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲁⲛ ϩⲁⲣⲟⲓ ⲙⲙⲁⲩⲁⲁⲧ ⲁⲗⲗⲁ ⲡⲉⲧⲙⲙⲁⲩ ⲡⲉⲛⲧⲁϥⲧⲁⲟⲩⲟⲉⲓ
So Jesus said to them: “If God were your Father, you would love me, because I came forth from God and I am here. Further, I have not come on my own, but He sent me.
43 ⲙ̅ⲅ̅ ⲉⲧⲃⲉ ⲟⲩ ⲙⲡⲉⲧⲛⲥⲟⲩⲛ ⲧⲁϭⲓⲛϣⲁϫⲉ ϫⲉ ⲙⲙⲛ ϭⲟⲙ ⲙⲙⲱⲧⲛ ⲉⲥⲱⲧⲙ ⲉⲡⲁϣⲁϫⲉ
Why don't you understand what I say?—because you are not able to really hear my word.
44 ⲙ̅ⲇ̅ ⲛⲧⲱⲧⲛ ⲛⲧⲉⲧⲛ ϩⲉⲛⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲙ ⲡⲉⲧⲛⲉⲓⲱⲧ ⲡⲇⲓⲁⲃⲟⲗⲟⲥ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲧⲉⲧⲛⲟⲩⲱϣ ⲉⲣ ⲛⲉⲡⲓⲑⲩⲙⲓⲁ ⲙⲡⲉⲧⲛⲉⲓⲱⲧ ⲡⲉⲧⲙⲙⲁⲩ ⲛⲉⲩⲣⲉϥϩⲉⲧⲃ ⲣⲱⲙⲉ ⲡⲉ ϫⲓⲛ ⲛϣⲟⲣⲡ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲙⲡϥⲁϩⲉⲣⲁⲧϥ ϩⲛ ⲧⲙⲉ ϫⲉ ⲙⲛ ⲙⲉ ϣⲟⲟⲡ ϩⲣⲁⲓ ⲛϩⲏⲧϥ ϩⲟⲧⲁⲛ ⲉⲣⲉⲡϭⲟⲗ ⲛⲁϣⲁϫⲉ ⲉϣⲁϥϣⲁϫⲉ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲛ ⲛⲉⲧⲉⲛⲟⲩϥ ⲛⲉ ϫⲉ ⲟⲩ ⲣⲉϥϫⲓ ϭⲟⲗ ⲡⲉ ⲙⲛ ⲡⲉϥⲕⲉⲉⲓⲱⲧ
You are of your father the devil, and it is the desires of your father that you want to do. He was a murderer from the beginning and has not stood in the truth, because there is no truth in him. Whenever he speaks the lie he speaks from his own things, because he is a liar and the father of lying.
45 ⲙ̅ⲉ̅ ⲁⲛⲟⲕ ⲇⲉ ϫⲉ ϯϫⲱ ⲛⲧⲙⲉ ⲛⲧⲉⲧⲙⲡⲓⲥⲧⲉⲩⲉ ⲉⲣⲟⲉⲓ ⲁⲛ
But since I speak the truth you do not believe me.
46 ⲙ̅ⲋ̅ ⲛⲓⲙ ⲛϩⲏⲧⲧⲏⲩⲧⲛ ⲡⲉⲧⲛⲁϫⲡⲓⲟⲉⲓ ⲉⲧⲃⲉ ⲛⲟⲃⲉ ⲉϣϫⲉ ⲉⲉⲓϫⲱ ⲛⲧⲙⲉ ⲉⲧⲃⲉ ⲟⲩ ⲛⲧⲱⲧⲛ ⲛⲧⲉⲧⲛⲡⲓⲥⲧⲉⲩⲉ ⲛⲁⲓ ⲁⲛ
Which of you convicts me of sin? So if I speak the truth, why do you not believe me?

The one who is of God hears God's words; that is why you do not hear, because you are not of God.”

So the Jews answered and said to Him, “We say that you are a Samaritan and have a demon—are we wrong?”
49 ⲙ̅ⲑ̅ ⲁϥⲟⲩⲱϣⲃ ⲛϭⲓ ⲓⲥ ϫⲉ ⲁⲛⲟⲕ ⲙⲛ ⲇⲁⲓⲙⲟⲛⲓⲟⲛ ⲛⲙⲙⲁⲓ ⲁⲗⲗⲁ ϯⲧⲁⲓⲟ ⲙⲡⲁⲉⲓⲱⲧ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛⲧⲱⲧⲛ ⲧⲉⲧⲛⲥⲱϣ ⲙⲙⲟⲉⲓ
Jesus answered: “I do not have a demon; rather, I honor my Father, while you dishonor me.
50 ⲛ̅ ⲁⲛⲟⲕ ⲇⲉ ⲛϯϣⲓⲛⲉ ⲁⲛ ⲛⲥⲁ ⲡⲁⲉⲟⲟⲩ ϥϣⲟⲟⲡ ⲛϭⲓ ⲡⲉⲧⲛⲁϣⲓⲛⲉ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛϥⲕⲣⲓⲛⲉ
Yet I do not seek my glory; there is One who seeks and judges.
51 ⲛ̅ⲁ̅ ϩⲁⲙⲏⲛ ϩⲁⲙⲏⲛ ϯϫⲱ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ⲛⲏⲧⲛ ϫⲉ ⲡⲉⲧⲛⲁϩⲁⲣⲉϩ ⲉⲡⲁϣⲁϫⲉ ⲛϥⲛⲁⲛⲁⲩ ⲁⲛ ⲉⲡⲙⲟⲩ ϣⲁ ⲉⲛⲉϩ (aiōn g165)
Most assuredly I say to you, if anyone should keep my word he will never ever see death.” (aiōn g165)
52 ⲛ̅ⲃ̅ ⲡⲉϫⲉ ⲛⲓⲟⲩⲇⲁⲓ ϭⲉ ⲛⲁϥ ϫⲉ ⲧⲉⲛⲟⲩ ⲁⲛⲉⲓⲙⲉ ϫⲉ ⲟⲩⲇⲁⲓⲙⲟⲛⲓⲟⲛ ⲡⲉⲧⲛⲙⲙⲁⲕ ⲁⲃⲣⲁϩⲁⲙ ⲁϥⲙⲟⲩ ⲙⲛ ⲛⲉⲡⲣⲟⲫⲏⲧⲏⲥ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛⲧⲟⲕ ⲕϫⲱ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ϫⲉ ⲡⲉⲧⲛⲁϩⲁⲣⲉϩ ⲉⲡⲁϣⲁϫⲉ ⲛϥⲛⲁϫⲓ ϯⲡⲉ ⲁⲛ ⲙⲡⲙⲟⲩ ϣⲁ ⲉⲛⲉϩ (aiōn g165)
So the Jews said to Him: “Now we know that you have a demon! Abraham died and so did the prophets; yet you say, ‘If anyone should keep my word he will never ever taste death’! (aiōn g165)
53 ⲛ̅ⲅ̅ ⲙⲏ ⲛⲧⲟⲕ ⲉⲛⲁⲁⲁⲕ ⲉⲡⲉⲛⲉⲓⲱⲧ ⲁⲃⲣⲁϩⲁⲙ ⲡⲁⲓ ⲉⲛⲧⲁϥⲙⲟⲩ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛⲉⲡⲣⲟⲫⲏⲧⲏⲥ ⲁⲩⲙⲟⲩ ⲉⲕⲉⲓⲣⲉ ⲙⲙⲟⲕ ⲛⲛⲓⲙ
Surely you aren't greater than our father Abraham, who died? And the prophets are dead. Who do you make yourself out to be?”
54 ⲛ̅ⲇ̅ ⲁϥⲟⲩⲱϣⲃ ⲛϭⲓ ⲓⲥ ϫⲉ ⲉϣⲱⲡⲉ ⲁⲛⲟⲕ ⲉⲓϣⲁⲛϯ ⲉⲟⲟⲩ ⲛⲁⲓ ⲟⲩⲗⲁⲁⲩ ⲡⲉ ⲡⲁⲉⲟⲟⲩ ϥϣⲟⲟⲡ ⲛϭⲓ ⲡⲁⲉⲓⲱⲧ ⲉⲧϯ ⲉⲟⲟⲩ ⲛⲁⲓ ⲡⲁⲓ ⲛⲧⲱⲧⲛ ⲉⲧⲉⲧⲛϫⲱ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ϫⲉ ⲡⲉⲛⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲡⲉ
Jesus answered: “If I glorify myself, my glory is nothing. It is my Father who glorifies me, of whom you say, ‘He is our God.’
55 ⲛ̅ⲉ̅ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲙⲡⲉⲧⲛⲥⲟⲩⲱⲛϥ ⲁⲛⲟⲕ ⲇⲉ ϯⲥⲟⲟⲩⲛ ⲙⲙⲟϥ ⲉⲓϣⲁⲛϫⲟⲟⲥ ϫⲉ ⲛϯⲥⲟⲟⲩⲛ ⲙⲙⲟϥ ⲁⲛ ⲉⲉⲓⲛⲁϣⲱⲡⲉ ⲛⲣⲉϥϫⲓ ϭⲟⲗ ⲛⲧⲉⲧⲛϩⲉ ⲁⲗⲗⲁ ϯⲥⲟⲟⲩⲛ ⲙⲙⲟϥ ⲁⲩⲱ ϯϩⲁⲣⲉϩ ⲉⲡⲉϥϣⲁϫⲉ
Yet you have not known Him, but I do know Him. And if I should say that I do not know Him I would be a liar just like you (pl); but I do know Him and I keep His word.
56 ⲛ̅ⲋ̅ ⲁⲃⲣⲁϩⲁⲙ ⲇⲉ ⲡⲉⲧⲛⲉⲓⲱⲧ ⲁϥⲧⲉⲗⲏⲗ ϫⲉⲕⲁⲥ ⲉϥⲉⲛⲁⲩ ⲉⲡⲁϩⲟⲟⲩ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲁϥⲛⲁⲩ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲁϥⲣⲁϣⲉ
Your father Abraham was overjoyed to see my day; yes, he saw it and rejoiced.”
57 ⲛ̅ⲍ̅ ⲡⲉϫⲁⲩ ϭⲉ ⲛⲁϥ ⲛϭⲓ ⲛⲓⲟⲩⲇⲁⲓ ϫⲉ ⲙⲡⲁⲧⲕⲣ ⲧⲁⲓⲟⲩ ⲛⲣⲟⲙⲡⲉ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲁⲁⲃⲣⲁϩⲁⲙ ⲛⲁⲩ ⲉⲣⲟⲕ
So the Jews said to Him, “You are not yet fifty years old, and you have seen Abraham?!”
58 ⲛ̅ⲏ̅ ⲡⲉϫⲉ ⲓⲥ ⲛⲁⲩ ϫⲉ ϩⲁⲙⲏⲛ ϩⲁⲙⲏⲛ ϯϫⲱ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ⲛⲏⲧⲛ ϫⲉ ⲉⲙⲡⲁⲧⲉ ⲁⲃⲣⲁϩⲁⲙ ϣⲱⲡⲉ ⲁⲛⲟⲕ ϯϣⲟⲟⲡ
Jesus said to them, “Most assuredly I say to you, before Abraham came to be, I AM!”
59 ⲛ̅ⲑ̅ ⲁⲩϥⲓ ⲱⲛⲉ ϭⲉ ϫⲉⲕⲁⲥ ⲉⲩⲉ ⲛⲟⲩϫⲉ ⲉⲣⲟϥ ⲓⲥ ⲇⲉ ⲁϥϩⲟⲡϥ ⲁϥⲉⲓ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲙ ⲡⲉⲣⲡⲉ
Then they picked up stones to throw at Him; but Jesus was concealed and went out of the temple, going through the middle of them; yes, that is how He got away!
