1 ⲁ̅ ⲙⲛⲛⲥⲁ ⲛⲁⲓ ⲛⲉⲡϣⲁⲁ ⲡⲉ ⲛⲓⲟⲩⲇⲁⲓ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲁⲓⲥ ⲃⲱⲕ ⲉϩⲣⲁⲓ ⲉⲑⲓⲉⲣⲟⲩⲥⲁⲗⲏⲙ
After that ther was a feast of the Iewes and Iesus went vp to Ierusalem.
2 ⲃ̅ ⲛⲉⲩⲛ ⲟⲩⲕⲟⲗⲩⲙⲃⲏⲑⲣⲁ ⲇⲉ ϩⲛ ⲑⲓⲉⲣⲟⲩⲥⲁⲗⲏⲙ ϩⲓϫⲛ ⲧⲉⲡⲣⲟⲃⲁⲧⲓⲕⲏ ⲉϣⲁⲩⲙⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲉⲣⲟⲥ ⲙⲙⲛⲧϩⲉⲃⲣⲁⲓⲟⲥ ϫⲉ ⲃⲏⲇⲥⲁⲓⲇⲁ ⲉⲣⲉϯ ⲥⲧⲟⲁ ϩⲓϫⲱⲥ
And ther is at Ierusalem by ye slaughterhousse a pole called in ye Ebrue toge Bethseda havinge five porches
3 ⲅ̅ ⲛⲉⲩⲛⲕⲟⲧⲕ ϩⲁ ⲛⲁⲓ ⲛϭⲓ ⲡⲙⲏⲏϣⲉ ⲉⲧϣⲱⲛⲉ ⲛϭⲁⲗⲉ ⲙⲛ ⲛⲃⲗⲗⲉ ⲙⲛ ⲛⲉⲧϣⲟⲩⲱⲟⲩ
in which laye a greate multitude of sicke folke of blinde halt and wyddered waytinge for the movinge of the water.
For an angell wet doune at a certayne ceason into ye pole and troubled ye water. Whosoever then fyrst after the steringe of the water stepped in was made whoale of what soever disease he had.
5 ⲉ̅ ⲛⲉⲩⲛ ⲟⲩⲣⲱⲙⲉ ⲇⲉ ⲙⲙⲁⲩ ⲉⲁϥⲣ ⲙⲁⲃ ϣⲙⲏⲛⲉ ⲛⲣⲟⲙⲡⲉ ϩⲙ ⲡⲉϥϣⲱⲛⲉ
And a certayne ma was theare which had bene diseased. xxxviii. yeares
6 ⲋ̅ ⲛⲧⲉⲣⲉⲓⲥ ⲛⲁⲩ ⲉⲡⲁⲓ ⲉϥⲛⲕⲟⲧⲕ ⲉⲁϥⲉⲓⲙⲉ ϫⲉ ⲁϥⲱⲥⲕ ⲡⲉϫⲁϥ ⲛⲁϥ ϫⲉ ⲕⲟⲩⲱϣ ⲉⲟⲩϫⲁⲓ
When Iesus sawe him lye and knewe that he now longe tyme had bene diseased he sayde vnto him. Wilt thou be made whoale?
7 ⲍ̅ ⲁϥⲟⲩⲱϣⲃ ⲛⲁϥ ⲛϭⲓ ⲡⲉⲧϣⲱⲛⲉ ϫⲉ ⲡϫⲟⲉⲓⲥ ⲙⲛϯ ⲣⲱⲙⲉ ⲙⲙⲁⲩ ϫⲉⲕⲁⲥ ⲉⲣϣⲁⲡⲙⲟⲟⲩ ⲧⲱϩ ⲉϥⲉⲛⲟϫⲧ ⲉⲡⲉⲥⲏⲧ ⲉⲧⲕⲟⲗⲩⲙⲃⲏⲑⲣⲁ ϩⲟⲥⲟⲛ ⲇⲉ ⲁⲛⲟⲕ ϯⲛⲏⲩ ϣⲁⲣⲉⲕⲉⲟⲩⲁ ⲣ ϣⲟⲣⲡ ⲉⲣⲟⲓ ⲉⲃⲱⲕ ⲉⲡⲉⲥⲏⲧ
The sicke answered him: Syr I have no man whe the water is troubled to put me into the pole. But in the meane tyme whill I am about to come another steppeth doune before me.
8 ⲏ̅ ⲡⲉϫⲉ ⲓⲥ ⲛⲁϥ ϫⲉ ⲧⲱⲟⲩⲛ ⲛⲅϥⲓ ⲡⲉⲕϭⲗⲟϭ ⲛⲅⲙⲟⲟϣⲉ
And Iesus sayde vnto him: ryse take vp thy beed and walke.
9 ⲑ̅ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛⲧⲉⲩⲛⲟⲩ ⲁϥⲟⲩϫⲁⲓ ⲛϭⲓ ⲡⲣⲱⲙⲉ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲁϥϥⲓ ⲡⲉϥϭⲗⲟϭ ⲁϥⲙⲟⲟϣⲉ ⲛⲉⲡⲥⲁⲃⲃⲁⲧⲟⲛ ⲇⲉ ⲡⲉ ⲡⲉϩⲟⲟⲩ ⲉⲧⲙⲙⲁⲩ
And immediatly the man was made whole and toke vp his beed and went. And the same daye was the Saboth daye
10 ⲓ̅ ⲛⲉⲩϫⲱ ϭⲉ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ⲛϭⲓ ⲛⲓⲟⲩⲇⲁⲓ ⲙⲡⲉⲛⲧⲁϥⲗⲟ ϫⲉ ⲡⲥⲁⲃⲃⲁⲧⲟⲛ ⲡⲉ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛⲥⲧⲟ ⲛⲁⲕ ⲁⲛ ⲉϥⲓ ⲡⲉⲕϭⲗⲟϭ
The Iewes therfore sayde vnto him that was made whole. It is ye Saboth daye it is not laufull for the to cary thy beed
11 ⲓ̅ⲁ̅ ⲁϥⲟⲩⲱϣⲃ ⲛⲁⲩ ϫⲉ ⲡⲉⲛⲧⲁϥⲧⲁⲗϭⲟⲓ ⲡⲉⲧⲙⲙⲁⲩ ⲡⲉ ⲛⲧⲁϥϫⲟⲟⲥ ⲛⲁⲓ ϫⲉ ϥⲓ ⲡⲉⲕϭⲗⲟϭ ⲛⲅⲙⲟⲟϣⲉ
He answered them: he that made me whole sayde vnto me: take vp thy beed and get the hence.
12 ⲓ̅ⲃ̅ ⲁⲩϫⲛⲟⲩϥ ϫⲉ ⲛⲓⲙ ⲡⲉ ⲡⲣⲱⲙⲉ ⲉⲛⲧⲁϥϫⲟⲟⲥ ⲛⲁⲕ ϫⲉ ϥⲓⲧϥ ⲛⲅⲙⲟⲟϣⲉ
Then axed they him: what man is that which sayde vnto the take vp thy beed and walke.
13 ⲓ̅ⲅ̅ ⲡⲉⲛⲧⲁϥⲗⲟ ⲇⲉ ⲛⲉϥⲥⲟⲟⲩⲛ ⲁⲛ ϫⲉ ⲛⲓⲙ ⲡⲉ ⲓⲥ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲛⲉⲁϥⲥⲉϩⲧϥ ⲉⲣⲉⲟⲩⲙⲏⲏϣⲉ ϩⲙ ⲡⲙⲁ ⲉⲧⲙⲙⲁⲩ
And he yt was healed wist not who it was. For Iesus had gotte him selfe awaye be cause yt ther was preace of people in ye place.
14 ⲓ̅ⲇ̅ ⲙⲛⲛⲥⲁ ⲛⲁⲓ ⲁⲓⲥ ϩⲉ ⲉⲣⲟϥ ϩⲙ ⲡⲉⲣⲡⲉ ⲡⲉϫⲁϥ ⲛⲁϥ ϫⲉ ⲉⲓⲥ ϩⲏⲏⲧⲉ ⲁⲕⲟⲩϫⲁⲓ ⲙⲡⲣⲕⲟⲧⲕ ⲉⲣ ⲛⲟⲃⲉ ϫⲉⲕⲁⲥ ⲉⲛⲛⲉⲡⲉⲑⲟⲟⲩ ⲉⲡⲁⲓ ϣⲱⲡⲉ ⲙⲙⲟⲕ
And after that Iesus founde him in the teple and sayd vnto him: beholde thou arte made whole synne no moore lest a worsse thinge happe vnto the.
15 ⲓ̅ⲉ̅ ⲁϥⲃⲱⲕ ⲛϭⲓ ⲡⲣⲱⲙⲉ ⲁϥⲧⲁⲙⲉ ⲛⲓⲟⲩⲇⲁⲓ ϫⲉ ⲓⲥ ⲡⲉ ⲛⲧⲁϥⲧⲁⲗϭⲟⲓ
The man departed and tolde ye Iewes that yt was Iesus whiche had made him whole.
16 ⲓ̅ⲋ̅ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲉⲧⲃⲉ ⲡⲁⲓ ⲛⲉⲣⲉⲛ ⲓⲟⲩⲇⲁⲓ ⲇⲓⲱⲕⲉ ⲛⲥⲁ ⲓⲥ ϫⲉ ⲛⲉϥⲉⲓⲣⲉ ⲛⲛⲁⲓ ⲡⲉ ϩⲙ ⲡⲥⲁⲃⲃⲁⲧⲟⲛ
And therfore the Iewes dyd persecute Iesus and sought the meanes to slee him because he had done these thinges on the Saboth daye.
17 ⲓ̅ⲍ̅ ⲓⲥ ⲇⲉ ⲁϥⲟⲩⲱϣⲃ ⲛⲁⲩ ϫⲉ ⲡⲁⲓⲱⲧ ⲣ ϩⲱⲃ ϣⲁϩⲣⲁⲓ ⲉⲧⲉⲛⲟⲩ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲁⲛⲟⲕ ϯⲣ ϩⲱⲃ
And Iesus answered them: my father worketh hidder to and I worke.
18 ⲓ̅ⲏ̅ ⲉⲧⲃⲉ ⲡⲁⲓ ϭⲉ ⲛϩⲟⲩⲟ ⲛⲉⲩϣⲓⲛⲉ ⲛⲥⲱϥ ⲛϭⲓ ⲛⲓⲟⲩⲇⲁⲓ ⲉⲙⲟⲟⲩⲧϥ ϫⲉ ⲟⲩ ⲙⲟⲛⲟⲛ ⲛⲉϥⲃⲱⲗ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲙⲡⲥⲁⲃⲃⲁⲧⲟⲛ ⲁⲗⲗⲁ ⲛⲉϥϫⲱ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ⲟⲛ ϫⲉ ⲡⲁⲉⲓⲱⲧ ⲡⲉ ⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲉϥϣⲱϣ ⲙⲙⲟϥ ⲙⲛ ⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ
Therfore the Iewes sought the moare to kill him not only because he had broken the Saboth: but sayde also that God was his father and made him selfe equall with God.
19 ⲓ̅ⲑ̅ ⲁϥⲟⲩⲱϣⲃ ϭⲉ ⲛϭⲓ ⲓⲥ ⲡⲉϫⲁϥ ⲛⲁⲩ ϫⲉ ϩⲁⲙⲏⲛ ϩⲁⲙⲏⲛ ϯϫⲱ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ⲛⲏⲧⲛ ϫⲉ ⲙⲛ ϣϭⲟⲙ ⲙⲡϣⲏⲣⲉ ⲉⲣ ⲗⲁⲁⲩ ϩⲁⲣⲟϥ ⲟⲩⲁⲁϥ ⲉⲓⲙⲏⲧⲓ ⲛϥⲛⲁⲩ ⲉⲡⲉⲓⲱⲧ ⲉϥⲓⲣⲉ ⲙⲙⲟⲟⲩ ⲛⲉⲧⲉⲣⲉⲡⲏ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲛⲁⲁⲁⲩ ⲛⲁⲓ ϩⲱⲱϥ ⲡϣⲏⲣⲉ ϩⲟⲙⲟⲓⲱⲥ ϥⲛⲁⲁⲁⲩ
Then answered Iesus and sayde vnto them: verely verely I saye vnto you: the sonne can do no thinge of him selfe but that he seeth ye father do. For whatsoever he doeth yt doeth the sonne also.
20 ⲕ̅ ⲡⲉⲓⲱⲧ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲙⲉ ⲙⲡϣⲏⲣⲉ ⲁⲩⲱ ϥⲧⲥⲁⲃⲟ ⲙⲙⲟϥ ⲉϩⲱⲃ ⲛⲓⲙ ⲉⲧⲉⲓⲣⲉ ⲛⲧⲟϥ ⲙⲙⲟⲟⲩ ⲁⲩⲱ ϥⲛⲁⲧⲥⲁⲃⲟϥ ⲉϩⲉⲛϩⲃⲏⲩⲉ ⲉⲛⲁⲁⲁⲩ ⲉⲛⲁⲓ ϫⲉⲕⲁⲥ ⲛⲧⲱⲧⲛ ⲉⲧⲉⲧⲛⲉⲣ ϣⲡⲏⲣⲉ
For the father loveth ye sonne and sheweth him all thinges whatsoever he him selfe doeth. And he will shewe him greter workes then these because ye shoulde marvayle.
21 ⲕ̅ⲁ̅ ⲛⲑⲉ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲉϣⲁⲣⲉⲡⲉⲓⲱⲧ ⲧⲟⲩⲛⲉⲥ ⲛⲉⲧⲙⲟⲟⲩⲧ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛϥⲧⲁⲛϩⲟⲟⲩ ⲧⲁⲓ ⲟⲛ ⲧⲉ ⲑⲉ ⲉⲧⲉⲣⲉⲡϣⲏⲣⲉ ⲛⲁⲧⲁⲛϩⲉ ⲛⲉⲧϥⲟⲩⲁϣⲟⲩ
For lykwyse as the father rayseth vp ye deed and quickeneth them even so the sonne quyckeneth whom he will.
22 ⲕ̅ⲃ̅ ⲙⲡⲓⲱⲧ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲕⲣⲓⲛⲉ ⲁⲛ ⲛⲗⲁⲁⲩ ⲁⲗⲗⲁ ⲧⲉⲕⲣⲓⲥⲓⲥ ⲧⲏⲣⲥ ⲁϥⲧⲁⲁⲥ ⲙⲡϣⲏⲣⲉ
Nether iudgeth ye father eny ma: but hath comitted all iudgemet vnto the sonne
23 ⲕ̅ⲅ̅ ϫⲉⲕⲁⲥ ⲉⲣⲉⲟⲩⲟⲛ ⲛⲓⲙ ⲧⲁⲓⲉ ⲡϣⲏⲣⲉ ⲕⲁⲧⲁ ⲑⲉ ⲉⲧⲟⲩⲧⲁⲓⲟ ⲙⲡⲓⲱⲧ ⲡⲉⲧⲉⲛϥⲧⲁⲓⲟ ⲁⲛ ⲙⲡϣⲏⲣⲉ ⲛϥⲧⲁⲓⲟ ⲁⲛ ⲙⲡⲉⲓⲱⲧ ⲉⲛⲧⲁϥⲧⲁⲟⲩⲟϥ
because that all men shuld honoure the sonne eve as they honoure the father. He that honoureth not ye sonne the same honoureth not the father which hath sent him.
24 ⲕ̅ⲇ̅ ϩⲁⲙⲏⲛ ϩⲁⲙⲏⲛ ϯϫⲱ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ⲛⲏⲧⲛ ϫⲉ ⲡⲉⲧⲥⲱⲧⲙ ⲉⲡⲁϣⲁϫⲉ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲉⲧⲡⲓⲥⲧⲉⲩⲉ ⲉⲡⲉⲛⲧⲁϥⲧⲁⲟⲩⲟⲉⲓ ⲟⲩⲛⲧⲁϥ ⲙⲙⲁⲩ ⲙⲡⲱⲛϩ ϣⲁ ⲉⲛⲉϩ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛϥⲛⲏⲩ ⲁⲛ ⲉⲧⲉⲕⲣⲓⲥⲓⲥ ⲁⲗⲗⲁ ⲁϥⲡⲱⲱⲛⲉ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲙ ⲡⲙⲟⲩ ⲉϩⲟⲩⲛ ⲉⲡⲱⲛϩ (aiōnios )
Verely verely I saye vnto you: He that heareth my wordes and beleveth on him that sent me hath everlastinge lyfe and shall not come into damnacion: but is scaped fro deth vnto lyfe. (aiōnios )
25 ⲕ̅ⲉ̅ ϩⲁⲙⲏⲛ ϩⲁⲙⲏⲛ ϯϫⲱ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ⲛⲏⲧⲛ ϫⲉ ⲟⲩⲛ ⲟⲩⲟⲩⲛⲟⲩ ⲛⲏⲩ ⲉⲧⲉⲧⲉⲛⲟⲩ ⲧⲉ ⲉⲣⲉⲛⲉⲧⲙⲟⲟⲩⲧ ⲛⲁⲥⲱⲧⲙ ⲉⲧⲉⲥⲙⲏ ⲙⲡϣⲏⲣⲉ ⲙⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛⲉⲧⲛⲁⲥⲱⲧⲙ ⲥⲉⲛⲁⲱⲛϩ
Verely verely I saye vnto you: the tyme shall come and now is when the deed shall heare the voyce of the sonne of God. And they yt heare shall live.
26 ⲕ̅ⲋ̅ ⲛⲑⲉ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲉⲧⲉⲩⲛⲧⲉ ⲡⲓⲱⲧ ⲡⲱⲛϩ ϩⲣⲁⲓ ⲛϩⲏⲧϥ ⲧⲁⲓ ⲟⲛ ⲧⲉ ⲑⲉ ⲉⲛⲧⲁϥϯ ⲙⲡϣⲏⲣⲉ ⲉⲧⲣⲉϥⲕⲱ ⲛⲁϥ ⲙⲡⲱⲛϩ ϩⲣⲁⲓ ⲛϩⲏⲧϥ
For as the father hath life in him silfe: so lyke wyse hath he geven to ye sonne to have lyfe in him silfe:
27 ⲕ̅ⲍ̅ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲁϥϯ ⲛⲁϥ ⲛⲧⲉⲝⲟⲩⲥⲓⲁ ⲉⲧⲣⲉϥⲉⲓⲣⲉ ⲛⲧⲉⲕⲣⲓⲥⲓⲥ ϫⲉ ⲡϣⲏⲣⲉ ⲙⲡⲣⲱⲙⲉ ⲡⲉ
and hath geven him power also to iudge in that he is the sonne of man.
28 ⲕ̅ⲏ̅ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲙⲡⲣⲣ ϣⲡⲏⲣⲉ ⲙⲡⲁⲓ ϫⲉ ⲟⲩⲛ ⲟⲩⲟⲩⲛⲟⲩ ⲛⲏⲩ ⲉⲣⲉⲟⲩⲟⲛ ⲛⲓⲙ ⲉⲧϩⲛ ⲛⲧⲁⲫⲟⲥ ⲛⲁⲥⲱⲧⲙ ⲉⲧⲉϥⲥⲙⲏ
Marvayle not at this ye houre shall come in the which all yt are in the graves shall heare his voice
29 ⲕ̅ⲑ̅ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛⲥⲉⲉⲓ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲛⲉⲛⲧⲁⲩⲉⲓⲣⲉ ⲛⲙⲡⲉⲧⲛⲁⲛⲟⲩϥ ⲉⲩⲁⲛⲁⲥⲧⲁⲥⲓⲥ ⲛⲱⲛϩ ⲛⲉⲛⲧⲁⲩⲉⲓⲣⲉ ⲛⲙⲡⲉⲑⲟⲟⲩ ⲉⲩⲁⲛⲁⲥⲧⲁⲥⲓⲥ ⲛⲕⲣⲓⲥⲓⲥ
and shall come forthe: they that have done good vnto the resurreccion of lyfe: and they that have done evyll vnto the resurreccion of dampnacion.
30 ⲗ̅ ⲙⲙⲛϭⲟⲙ ⲁⲛⲟⲕ ⲙⲙⲟⲓ ⲉⲣ ⲗⲁⲁⲩ ⲛϩⲱⲃ ϩⲁⲣⲟⲓ ⲙⲙⲁⲩⲁⲁⲧ ⲕⲁⲧⲁ ⲑⲉ ⲉϯⲥⲱⲧⲙ ⲉⲉⲓⲕⲣⲓⲛⲉ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲧⲁⲕⲣⲓⲥⲓⲥ ⲟⲩⲙⲉⲉ ⲧⲉ ϫⲉ ⲛⲉⲉⲓϣⲓⲛⲉ ⲁⲛ ⲛⲥⲁ ⲡⲁⲟⲩⲱϣ ⲙⲙⲓⲛ ⲙⲙⲟⲓ ⲁⲗⲗⲁ ⲛⲥⲁ ⲡⲟⲩⲱϣ ⲙⲡⲉⲛⲧⲁϥⲧⲁⲟⲩⲟⲉⲓ
I can of myne awne selfe do nothinge at all. As I heare I iudge and my iudgemet is iust because I seke not myne awne will but the will of ye father which hath sent me.
31 ⲗ̅ⲁ̅ ⲉϣⲱⲡⲉ ⲁⲛⲟⲕ ⲉⲓϣⲁⲛⲣ ⲙⲛⲧⲣⲉ ϩⲁⲣⲟⲓ ⲧⲁⲙⲛⲧⲙⲛⲧⲣⲉ ⲟⲩⲙⲉ ⲁⲛ ⲧⲉ
Yf I beare witnes of my selfe my witnes is not true.
32 ⲗ̅ⲃ̅ ⲕⲉⲟⲩⲁ ⲡⲉⲧⲣ ⲙⲛⲧⲣⲉ ϩⲁⲣⲟⲓ ⲁⲩⲱ ϯⲥⲟⲟⲩⲛ ϫⲉ ⲟⲩⲙⲉ ⲧⲉ ⲧⲉϥⲙⲛⲧⲙⲛⲧⲣⲉ ⲉⲧϥⲉⲓⲣⲉ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ϩⲁⲣⲟⲓ
Ther is a nother that beareth witnes of me and I am sure that the witnes whiche he beareth of me is true.
33 ⲗ̅ⲅ̅ ⲛⲧⲱⲧⲛ ⲁⲧⲉⲧⲛϫⲟⲟⲩ ϣⲁ ⲓⲱϩⲁⲛⲛⲏⲥ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲁϥⲣ ⲙⲛⲧⲣⲉ ⲛⲧⲙⲉ
Ye sent vnto Iohn and he bare witnes vnto the truthe.
34 ⲗ̅ⲇ̅ ⲁⲛⲟⲕ ⲇⲉ ⲛⲉⲓϫⲓ ⲁⲛ ⲛⲧⲙⲛⲧⲙⲛⲧⲣⲉ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲓⲧⲛ ⲣⲱⲙⲉ ⲁⲗⲗⲁ ⲛⲁⲓ ⲛⲉⲓϫⲱ ⲙⲙⲟⲟⲩ ϫⲉⲕⲁⲥ ⲛⲧⲱⲧⲛ ⲉⲧⲉⲧⲛⲉⲟⲩϫⲁⲓ
But I receave not the recorde of man. Neverthelesse these thinges I saye that ye might be safe.
35 ⲗ̅ⲉ̅ ⲛⲉ ⲡⲉⲧⲙⲙⲁⲩ ⲡⲉ ⲡϩⲏⲃⲥ ⲉⲧⲙⲟⲩϩ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲉⲧⲣ ⲟⲩⲟⲓⲛ ⲛⲧⲱⲧⲛ ⲇⲉ ⲁⲧⲉⲧⲛⲟⲩⲱϣ ⲉⲧⲉⲗⲏⲗ ⲙⲙⲱⲧⲛ ⲡⲣⲟⲥ ⲟⲩⲟⲩⲛⲟⲩ ϩⲙ ⲡⲉϥⲟⲩⲟⲓⲛ
He was a burninge and a shyninge light and ye wolde for a season have reioysed in his light.
36 ⲗ̅ⲋ̅ ⲁⲛⲟⲕ ⲇⲉ ⲟⲩⲛⲧⲁⲓ ⲙⲙⲁⲩ ⲛⲧⲙⲛⲧⲙⲛⲧⲣⲉ ⲉⲛⲁⲁⲁⲥ ⲉⲧⲁ ⲓⲱϩⲁⲛⲛⲏⲥ ⲛⲉϩⲃⲏⲩⲉ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲉⲛⲧⲁⲡⲁⲓⲱⲧ ⲧⲁⲁⲩ ⲛⲁⲓ ϫⲉⲕⲁⲥ ⲉⲉⲓⲉϫⲟⲕⲟⲩ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲛⲧⲟⲟⲩ ⲛⲉϩⲃⲏⲩⲉ ⲉϯⲉⲓⲣⲉ ⲙⲙⲟⲟⲩ ⲥⲉⲣ ⲙⲛⲧⲣⲉ ϩⲁⲣⲟⲓ ϫⲉ ⲡⲓⲱⲧ ⲡⲉ ⲛⲧⲁϥⲧⲁⲟⲩⲟⲓ
But I have greater witnes then the witnes of Iohn. For ye workes which ye father hath geve me to fynisshe: the same workes which I do beare witnes of me that ye father sent me.
37 ⲗ̅ⲍ̅ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲡⲓⲱⲧ ⲉⲛⲧⲁϥⲧⲁⲟⲩⲟⲓ ⲛⲧⲟϥ ⲡⲉⲛⲧⲁϥⲣ ⲙⲛⲧⲣⲉ ϩⲁⲣⲟⲓ ⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲙⲡⲉⲧⲛⲥⲱⲧⲙ ⲉⲥⲙⲏ ⲛⲧⲁϥ ⲉⲛⲉϩ ⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲙⲡⲉⲧⲛⲛⲁⲩ ⲉϩⲣⲃ ⲛⲧⲁϥ
And the father him silfe which hath sent me beareth witnes of me. Ye have not hearde his voyce at eny tyme nor ye have sene his shape:
38 ⲗ̅ⲏ̅ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲙⲙⲛⲧⲏⲧⲛ ⲙⲙⲁⲩ ⲙⲡⲉϥϣⲁϫⲉ ⲉϥϣⲟⲟⲡ ⲛϩⲏⲧⲧⲏⲩⲧⲛ ϫⲉ ⲡⲉⲛⲧⲁⲡⲏ ⲧⲛⲛⲟⲟⲩϥ ⲡⲁⲓ ⲛⲧⲱⲧⲛ ⲛⲧⲉⲧⲛⲡⲓⲥⲧⲉⲩⲉ ⲉⲣⲟϥ ⲁⲛ
therto his wordes have ye not abydinge in you. For whome he hath sent: him ye beleve not.
39 ⲗ̅ⲑ̅ ϩⲟⲧϩⲧ ⲛⲛⲉⲅⲣⲁⲫⲏ ϫⲉ ⲛⲧⲱⲧⲛ ⲧⲉⲧⲛϫⲱ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ϫⲉ ⲟⲩⲛⲧⲏⲧⲛ ⲟⲩⲱⲛϩ ϣⲁ ⲉⲛⲉϩ ϩⲣⲁⲓ ⲛϩⲏⲧⲟⲩ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛⲉⲧⲙⲙⲁⲩ ⲛⲉⲧⲣ ⲙⲛⲧⲣⲉ ⲉⲧⲃⲏⲏⲧ (aiōnios )
Searche the scriptures for in them ye thinke ye have eternall lyfe: and they are they which testify of me. (aiōnios )
40 ⲙ̅ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛⲧⲉⲧⲛⲟⲩⲱϣ ⲁⲛ ⲉⲉⲓ ϣⲁⲣⲟⲓ ϫⲉⲕⲁⲥ ⲉⲧⲉⲧⲛⲉϫⲓ ⲙⲡⲱⲛϩ
And yet will ye not come to me that ye might have lyfe.
41 ⲙ̅ⲁ̅ ⲛⲉⲓϫⲓ ⲉⲟⲟⲩ ⲁⲛ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲓⲧⲛ ⲣⲱⲙⲉ
I receave not prayse of men.
42 ⲙ̅ⲃ̅ ⲁⲗⲗⲁ ⲁⲓⲥⲟⲩⲛ ⲧⲏⲩⲧⲛ ϫⲉ ⲙⲛⲧⲏⲧⲛ ⲧⲁⲅⲁⲡⲏ ⲙⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲛϩⲏⲧⲧⲏⲩⲧⲛ
But I knowe you that ye have not the love of God in you
43 ⲙ̅ⲅ̅ ⲁⲛⲟⲕ ⲁⲓⲉⲓ ϩⲙ ⲡⲣⲁⲛ ⲙⲡⲁⲓⲱⲧ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲙⲡⲉⲧⲛϫⲓⲧ ⲉϣⲁⲣⲉⲕⲉⲟⲩⲁ ⲉⲓ ϩⲙ ⲡⲉϥⲣⲁⲛ ⲙⲙⲓⲛ ⲙⲙⲟϥ ⲡⲉⲧⲙⲙⲁⲩ ⲧⲉⲧⲛⲁϫⲓⲧϥ
I am come in my fathers name and ye receave me not. Yf another shall come in his awne name him will ye receave.
44 ⲙ̅ⲇ̅ ⲛⲁϣ ⲛϩⲉ ⲛⲧⲱⲧⲛ ⲧⲉⲧⲛⲁϣ ⲡⲓⲥⲧⲉⲩⲉ ⲉⲧⲉⲧⲛϫⲓ ⲉⲟⲟⲩ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲓⲧⲛ ⲛⲉⲧⲛⲉⲣⲏⲩ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲡⲉⲟⲟⲩ ⲡⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲓⲧⲙ ⲡⲓⲟⲩⲁ ⲛⲟⲩⲱⲧ ⲉⲛⲧⲉⲧⲛϣⲓⲛⲉ ⲛⲥⲱϥ ⲁⲛ
How can ye beleve which receave honoure one of another and seke not the honoure that commeth of God only?
45 ⲙ̅ⲉ̅ ⲙⲡⲣⲙⲉⲩⲉ ϫⲉ ⲁⲛⲟⲕ ⲉⲧⲛⲁⲕⲁⲧⲏⲅⲟⲣⲓ ⲙⲙⲱⲧⲛ ⲛⲛⲁϩⲣⲙ ⲡⲓⲱⲧ ϥϣⲟⲟⲡ ⲛϭⲓ ⲡⲉⲧⲛⲁⲕⲁⲧⲏⲅⲟⲣⲓ ⲙⲙⲱⲧⲛ ⲙⲱⲩⲥⲏⲥ ⲡⲁⲓ ⲛⲧⲱⲧⲛ ⲉⲧⲉⲧⲛϩⲉⲗⲡⲓⲍⲉ ⲉⲣⲟϥ
Doo not thinke that I wyll accuse you to my father. Ther is one that accuseth you eve Moses in whom ye trust.
46 ⲙ̅ⲋ̅ ⲉⲛⲉⲧⲉⲧⲛⲡⲓⲥⲧⲉⲩⲉ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲉⲙⲱⲩⲥⲏⲥ ⲛⲉⲧⲉⲧⲛⲁⲡⲓⲥⲧⲉⲩⲉ ⲉⲣⲟⲓ ⲡⲉ ⲁⲡⲉⲧⲙⲙⲁⲩ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲥϩⲁⲓ ⲉⲧⲃⲏⲏⲧ
For had ye beleved Moses ye wold have beleved me: for he wrote of me.
47 ⲙ̅ⲍ̅ ⲉϣϫⲉ ⲛⲧⲉⲧⲛⲡⲓⲥⲧⲉⲩⲉ ⲇⲉ ⲁⲛ ⲉⲛⲉⲥϩⲁⲓ ⲙⲡⲉⲧⲙⲙⲁⲩ ⲛⲁϣ ⲛϩⲉ ⲧⲉⲧⲛⲁⲡⲓⲥⲧⲉⲩⲉ ⲉⲛⲁϣⲁϫⲉ
But now ye beleve not his writinge: how shall ye beleve my wordes.
