1 ⲁ̅ ⲁⲛⲟⲕ ⲡⲉ ⲧⲃⲱ ⲛⲉⲗⲟⲟⲗⲉ ⲙⲙⲉ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲡⲁⲓⲱⲧ ⲡⲉ ⲡⲟⲩⲟⲟⲓⲉ
“I am the true vine, and my Father is the farmer.
2 ⲃ̅ ϣⲗϩ ⲛⲓⲙ ϩⲣⲁⲓ ⲛϩⲏⲧ ⲡⲉⲧⲉⲛϥⲛⲁϯ ⲕⲁⲣⲡⲟⲥ ⲁⲛ ϥⲛⲁⲥⲟⲗⲡϥ ⲁⲩⲱ ϣⲗϩ ⲛⲓⲙ ⲉⲧⲛⲁϯ ⲕⲁⲣⲡⲟⲥ ϥⲛⲁⲧⲃⲃⲟϥ ϫⲉⲕⲁⲥ ⲉϥⲉϯ ϩⲟⲩⲉ ⲕⲁⲣⲡⲟⲥ
Every branch in me that doesn’t bear fruit, he takes away. Every branch that bears fruit, he prunes, that it may bear more fruit.
3 ⲅ̅ ϫⲓⲛ ⲧⲉⲛⲟⲩ ⲛⲧⲱⲧⲛ ⲧⲉⲧⲛⲧⲃⲃⲏⲩ ⲉⲧⲃⲉ ⲡϣⲁϫⲉ ⲉⲛⲧⲁⲓϫⲟⲟϥ ⲛⲏⲧⲛ
You are already pruned clean because of the word which I have spoken to you.
4 ⲇ̅ ϭⲱ ϩⲣⲁⲓ ⲛϩⲏⲧ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲁⲛⲟⲕ ⲛϩⲏⲧⲧⲏⲩⲧⲛ ⲕⲁⲧⲁ ⲑⲉ ⲙⲡϣⲗϩ ⲉⲧⲉ ⲛϥⲛⲁϣ ϯ ⲕⲁⲣⲡⲟⲥ ⲁⲛ ϩⲁⲣⲟϥ ⲙⲙⲁⲩⲁⲁϥ ⲉⲓⲙⲏⲧⲓ ⲛϥϭⲱ ϩⲛ ⲧⲃⲱ ⲛⲉⲗⲟⲟⲗⲉ ⲧⲁⲓ ϩⲱⲧⲧⲏⲩⲧⲛ ⲧⲉ ⲧⲉⲧⲛϩⲉ ⲉⲧⲉⲧⲛϣⲁⲛⲧⲙϭⲱ ⲛϩⲏⲧ
Remain in me, and I in you. As the branch can’t bear fruit by itself unless it remains in the vine, so neither can you, unless you remain in me.
5 ⲉ̅ ⲁⲛⲟⲕ ⲡⲉ ⲧⲃⲱ ⲛⲉⲗⲟⲟⲗⲉ ⲛⲧⲱⲧⲛ ⲛⲉ ⲛϣⲗϩ ⲡⲉⲧⲛⲁϭⲱ ϩⲣⲁⲓ ⲛϩⲏⲧ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲁⲛⲟⲕ ⲛϩⲏⲧϥ ⲡⲁⲓ ⲛⲁϯ ⲛⲟⲩⲕⲁⲣⲡⲟⲥ ⲉⲛⲁϣⲱϥ ϫⲉ ⲁϫⲛⲧ ⲛⲧⲉⲧⲛⲁϣ ⲣ ⲗⲁⲁⲩ ⲁⲛ ⲛϩⲱⲃ
I am the vine. You are the branches. He who remains in me and I in him bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing.
6 ⲋ̅ ⲉⲣⲉⲧⲙⲟⲩⲁ ϭⲱ ϩⲣⲁⲓ ⲛϩⲏⲧ ⲁⲩⲛⲟϫϥ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲛⲑⲉ ⲙⲡϣⲗϩ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲁϥϣⲟⲟⲩⲉ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲥⲉⲛⲁⲥⲟⲟⲩϩⲟⲩ ⲛⲥⲉⲛⲟϫⲟⲩ ⲉⲡⲕⲱϩⲧ ⲛⲥⲉⲣⲟⲭⲟⲩ
If a man doesn’t remain in me, he is thrown out as a branch and is withered; and they gather them, throw them into the fire, and they are burned.
7 ⲍ̅ ⲉⲧⲉⲧⲛϣⲁⲛϭⲱ ϩⲣⲁⲓ ⲛϩⲏⲧ ⲛⲧⲉⲛⲁϣⲁϫⲉ ϭⲱ ⲛϩⲏⲧⲧⲏⲩⲧⲛ ⲡⲉⲧⲉⲧⲛⲁⲟⲩⲁϣϥ ⲁⲓⲧⲓ ⲙⲙⲟϥ ⲁⲩⲱ ϥⲛⲁϣⲱⲡⲉ ⲛⲏⲧⲛ
If you remain in me, and my words remain in you, you will ask whatever you desire, and it will be done for you.
8 ⲏ̅ ϩⲙ ⲡⲁⲓ ⲁϥϫⲓ ⲉⲟⲟⲩ ⲛϭⲓ ⲡⲁⲓⲱⲧ ϫⲉⲕⲁⲥ ⲉⲧⲉⲧⲛⲉϯ ⲟⲩⲕⲁⲣⲡⲟⲥ ⲉⲛⲁϣⲱϥ ⲛⲧⲉⲧⲛϣⲱⲡⲉ ⲛⲁⲓ ⲙⲙⲁⲑⲏⲧⲏⲥ
“In this my Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; and so you will be my disciples.
9 ⲑ̅ ⲕⲁⲧⲁ ⲑⲉ ⲉⲛⲧⲁⲡⲁⲓⲱⲧ ⲙⲉⲣⲓⲧ ⲁⲛⲟⲕ ϩⲱ ⲁⲓⲙⲉⲣⲉⲧⲏⲩⲧⲛ ϭⲱ ϩⲣⲁⲓ ϩⲛ ⲧⲁⲁⲅⲁⲡⲏ
Even as the Father has loved me, I also have loved you. Remain in my love.
10 ⲓ̅ ⲉⲧⲉⲧⲛϣⲁϩⲁⲣⲉϩ ⲉⲛⲁⲉⲛⲧⲟⲗⲏ ⲧⲉⲧⲛⲁϭⲱ ϩⲛ ⲧⲁⲁⲅⲁⲡⲏ ⲕⲁⲧⲁ ⲑⲉ ϩⲱ ⲉⲛⲧⲁⲓϩⲁⲣⲉϩ ⲉⲛⲉⲛⲧⲟⲗⲏ ⲙⲡⲁⲓⲱⲧ ⲁⲩⲱ ϯϭⲉⲉⲧ ϩⲛ ⲧⲉϥⲁⲅⲁⲡⲏ
If you keep my commandments, you will remain in my love, even as I have kept my Father’s commandments and remain in his love.
11 ⲓ̅ⲁ̅ ⲛⲁⲓ ⲁⲓϫⲟⲟⲩ ⲛⲏⲧⲛ ϫⲉⲕⲁⲥ ⲉⲣⲉⲡⲁⲣⲁϣⲉ ϣⲱⲡⲉ ⲛϩⲏⲧⲧⲏⲩⲧⲛ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛⲧⲉⲡⲉⲧⲛⲣⲁϣⲉ ϫⲱⲕ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ
I have spoken these things to you, that my joy may remain in you, and that your joy may be made full.
12 ⲓ̅ⲃ̅ ⲧⲁⲓ ⲧⲉ ⲧⲁⲉⲛⲧⲟⲗⲏ ϫⲉⲕⲁⲥ ⲉⲧⲉⲧⲛⲉⲙⲉⲣⲉ ⲛⲉⲧⲛⲉⲣⲏⲩ ⲕⲁⲧⲁ ⲑⲉ ⲉⲛⲧⲁⲓⲙⲉⲣⲉⲧⲏⲩⲧⲛ
“This is my commandment, that you love one another, even as I have loved you.
13 ⲓ̅ⲅ̅ ⲙⲛⲧⲉⲗⲁⲁⲩ ⲁⲅⲁⲡⲏ ⲉⲛⲁⲁⲁϥ ⲉⲧⲁⲉⲓ ϫⲉⲕⲁⲥ ⲉϥⲉⲕⲱ ⲛⲧⲉϥⲯⲩⲭⲏ ϩⲁ ⲛⲉϥϣⲃⲉⲉⲣ ⲛⲧⲱⲧⲛ ⲛⲧⲉⲧⲛⲛⲁϣⲃⲉⲉⲣ
Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends.
14 ⲓ̅ⲇ̅ ⲉⲧⲉⲧⲛϣⲁⲛⲉⲓⲣⲉ ⲛⲛⲉϯϩⲱⲛ ⲙⲙⲟⲟⲩ ⲉⲧⲉⲧⲏⲩⲧⲛ
You are my friends if you do whatever I command you.
15 ⲓ̅ⲉ̅ ⲛϯⲛⲁⲙⲟⲩⲧⲉ ϭⲉ ⲁⲛ ⲉⲣⲱⲧⲛ ϫⲉ ⲛⲁϩⲙϩⲁⲗ ϫⲉ ⲡϩⲙϩⲁⲗ ⲥⲟⲟⲩⲛ ⲁⲛ ϫⲉ ⲟⲩ ⲡⲉⲧⲉⲣⲉⲡⲉϥϫⲟⲉⲓⲥ ⲉⲓⲣⲉ ⲙⲙⲟϥ ⲛⲧⲱⲧⲛ ⲇⲉ ⲛⲧⲁⲓⲙⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲉⲣⲱⲧⲛ ϫⲉ ⲛⲁϣⲃⲉⲉⲣ ϫⲉ ⲛⲉⲛⲧⲁⲓⲥⲟⲧⲙⲟⲩ ⲧⲏⲣⲟⲩ ⲛⲧⲉ ⲡⲁⲓⲱⲧ ⲁⲓⲧⲁⲙⲱⲧⲛ ⲉⲣⲟⲟⲩ
No longer do I call you servants, for the servant doesn’t know what his lord does. But I have called you friends, for everything that I heard from my Father, I have made known to you.
16 ⲓ̅ⲋ̅ ⲛⲧⲱⲧⲛ ⲁⲛ ⲁⲧⲉⲧⲛⲥⲟⲧⲡⲧ ⲁⲗⲗⲁ ⲁⲛⲟⲕ ⲁⲓⲥⲉⲧⲡⲧⲏⲩⲧⲛ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲁⲓⲕⲁⲧⲏⲩⲧⲛ ϫⲉⲕⲁⲥ ⲛⲧⲱⲧⲛ ⲉⲧⲉⲧⲛⲉⲃⲱⲕ ⲛⲧⲉⲧⲛϯ ⲕⲁⲣⲡⲟⲥ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛⲧⲉⲡⲉⲧⲛⲕⲁⲣⲡⲟⲥ ⲙⲟⲩⲛ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϣⲁ ⲉⲛⲉϩ ϫⲉⲕⲁⲥ ⲉⲧⲉⲧⲛϣⲁⲛⲁⲓⲧⲓ ⲙⲡⲓⲱⲧ ϩⲙ ⲡⲁⲣⲁⲛ ⲉϥⲉⲧⲁⲁϥ ⲛⲏⲧⲛ
You didn’t choose me, but I chose you and appointed you, that you should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should remain; that whatever you will ask of the Father in my name, he may give it to you.
17 ⲓ̅ⲍ̅ ⲛⲁⲓ ⲉⲓϩⲱⲛ ⲙⲙⲟⲟⲩ ⲉⲧⲉⲧⲏⲩⲧⲛ ϫⲉⲕⲁⲥ ⲉⲧⲉⲧⲛⲉⲙⲉⲣⲉ ⲛⲉⲧⲛⲉⲣⲏⲩ
“I command these things to you, that you may love one another.
18 ⲓ̅ⲏ̅ ⲉϣϫⲉ ⲡⲕⲟⲥⲙⲟⲥ ⲙⲟⲥⲧⲉ ⲙⲙⲱⲧⲛ ⲉⲓⲙⲉ ϫⲉ ⲁϥⲙⲉⲥⲧⲱⲉⲓ ϩⲁⲧⲉⲧⲛϩⲏ
If the world hates you, you know that it has hated me before it hated you.
19 ⲓ̅ⲑ̅ ⲉⲛⲉ ⲛⲧⲉⲧⲛ ϩⲉⲛⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲙ ⲡⲕⲟⲥⲙⲟⲥ ⲛⲉⲣⲉⲡⲕⲟⲥⲙⲟⲥ ⲛⲁⲙⲉⲣⲉ ⲡⲉⲧⲉⲡⲱϥ ⲡⲉ ϫⲉ ⲛⲧⲉⲧⲛ ϩⲉⲛⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲇⲉ ⲁⲛ ϩⲙ ⲡⲕⲟⲥⲙⲟⲥ ⲁⲗⲗⲁ ⲁⲛⲟⲕ ⲁⲓⲥⲉⲧⲡⲧⲏⲩⲧⲛ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲙ ⲡⲕⲟⲥⲙⲟⲥ ⲉⲧⲃⲉ ⲡⲁⲓ ⲡⲕⲟⲥⲙⲟⲥ ⲙⲟⲥⲧⲉ ⲙⲙⲱⲧⲛ
If you were of the world, the world would love its own. But because you are not of the world, since I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you.
20 ⲕ̅ ⲁⲣⲓ ⲡⲙⲉⲩⲉ ⲙⲡϣⲁϫⲉ ⲉⲛⲧⲁⲓϫⲟⲟϥ ⲛⲏⲧⲛ ϫⲉ ⲙⲛ ϩⲙϩⲁⲗ ⲉⲛⲁⲁⲁϥ ⲉⲡⲉϥϫⲟⲉⲓⲥ ⲉϣϫⲉ ⲁⲩⲡⲱⲧ ⲛⲥⲱⲉⲓ ⲥⲉⲛⲁⲡⲱⲧ ⲛⲥⲁ ⲧⲏⲩⲧⲛ ⲉϣϫⲉ ⲁⲩϩⲁⲣⲉϩ ⲉⲡⲁϣⲁϫⲉ ⲥⲉⲛⲁϩⲁⲣⲉϩ ⲟⲛ ⲉⲡⲱⲧⲛ
Remember the word that I said to you: ‘A servant is not greater than his lord.’ If they persecuted me, they will also persecute you. If they kept my word, they will also keep yours.
21 ⲕ̅ⲁ̅ ⲁⲗⲗⲁ ⲛⲁⲓ ⲧⲏⲣⲟⲩ ⲉⲩⲛⲁⲁⲁⲩ ⲛⲏⲧⲛ ⲉⲧⲃⲉ ⲡⲁⲣⲁⲛ ϫⲉ ⲛⲥⲉⲥⲟⲟⲩⲛ ⲁⲛ ⲙⲡⲉⲛⲧⲁϥⲧⲁⲟⲩⲟⲓ
But they will do all these things to you for my name’s sake, because they don’t know him who sent me.
22 ⲕ̅ⲃ̅ ⲉⲛⲉ ⲙⲡⲓⲉⲓ ⲧⲁϣⲁϫⲉ ⲛⲙⲙⲁⲩ ⲛⲉⲙⲙⲛ ⲛⲟⲃⲉ ⲉⲣⲟⲟⲩ ⲧⲉⲛⲟⲩ ⲇⲉ ⲙⲛⲧⲟⲩ ⲗⲟⲓϭⲉ ⲙⲙⲁⲩ ⲉⲧⲃⲉ ⲡⲉⲩⲛⲟⲃⲉ
If I had not come and spoken to them, they would not have had sin; but now they have no excuse for their sin.
23 ⲕ̅ⲅ̅ ⲡⲉⲧⲙⲟⲥⲧⲉ ⲙⲙⲟⲓ ϥⲙⲟⲥⲧⲉ ⲟⲛ ⲙⲡⲁⲓⲱⲧ
He who hates me, hates my Father also.
24 ⲕ̅ⲇ̅ ⲉⲛⲉⲙⲡⲓⲣ ⲛⲉ ϩⲃⲏⲩⲉ ϩⲣⲁⲓ ⲛϩⲏⲧⲟⲩ ⲉⲧⲉⲙⲡⲉⲕⲉⲩⲁ ⲁⲁⲩ ⲛⲉⲙⲙⲛⲧⲟⲩ ⲛⲟⲃⲉ ⲙⲙⲁⲩ ⲧⲉⲛⲟⲩ ⲇⲉ ⲁⲩⲛⲁⲩ ⲉⲣⲟⲓ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲁⲩⲙⲉⲥⲧⲱⲓ ⲙⲛ ⲡⲁⲕⲉⲓⲱⲧ
If I hadn’t done among them the works which no one else did, they wouldn’t have had sin. But now they have seen and also hated both me and my Father.
25 ⲕ̅ⲉ̅ ⲁⲗⲗⲁ ϫⲉⲕⲁⲥ ⲉϥⲉϫⲱⲕ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲛϭⲓ ⲡϣⲁϫⲉ ⲉⲧⲥⲏϩ ϩⲙ ⲡⲉⲩⲛⲟⲙⲟⲥ ϫⲉ ⲁⲩⲙⲉⲥⲧⲱⲉⲓ ⲉⲡϫⲓⲛϫⲏ
But this happened so that the word may be fulfilled which was written in their law, ‘They hated me without a cause.’
26 ⲕ̅ⲋ̅ ϩⲟⲧⲁⲛ ⲉϥϣⲁⲛⲉⲓ ⲛϭⲓ ⲡⲡⲁⲣⲁⲕⲗⲏⲧⲟⲥ ⲡⲉϯⲛⲁⲧⲛⲛⲟⲟⲩϥ ⲛⲏⲧⲛ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲓⲧⲙ ⲡⲓⲱⲧ ⲡⲉⲡⲛⲁ ⲛⲧⲙⲉ ⲉⲧⲛⲏⲩ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲓⲧⲙ ⲡⲓⲱⲧ ⲡⲉⲧⲙⲙⲁⲩ ⲛⲁⲣ ⲙⲛⲧⲣⲉ ⲉⲧⲃⲏⲏⲧ
“When the Counselor has come, whom I will send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth, who proceeds from the Father, he will testify about me.
27 ⲕ̅ⲍ̅ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛⲧⲱⲧⲛ ϩⲱⲧⲧⲏⲩⲧⲛ ⲧⲉⲧⲛⲣ ⲙⲛⲧⲣⲉ ϫⲉ ϫⲓⲛ ⲛϣⲟⲣⲡ ⲧⲉⲧⲛϣⲟⲟⲡ ⲛⲙⲙⲁⲓ
You will also testify, because you have been with me from the beginning.
