1 ⲁ̅ ⲧⲛⲥⲟⲡⲥ ⲇⲉ ⲙⲙⲱⲧⲛ ⲛⲉⲥⲛⲏⲩ ϩⲁ ⲧⲡⲁⲣϩⲟⲩⲥⲓⲁ ⲙⲡⲉⲛϫⲟⲉⲓⲥ ⲓⲏⲥ ⲡⲉⲭⲥ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲡⲉⲛⲥⲱⲟⲩϩ ⲉⲣⲟϥ
Now, brothers, concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our being gathered to Him, we urge you
2 ⲃ̅ ⲉⲧⲙⲧⲣⲉⲧⲛⲕⲓⲙ ϩⲙ ⲡⲉⲧⲛϩⲏⲧ ϩⲛ ⲟⲩϭⲉⲡⲏ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲉⲧⲙϣⲧⲟⲣⲧⲣ ⲙⲏⲧⲉ ϩⲓⲧⲛ ⲟⲩⲡⲛⲁ ⲙⲏⲧⲉ ϩⲓⲧⲛ ⲟⲩϣⲁϫⲉ ⲙⲏⲧⲉ ϩⲓⲧⲛ ⲟⲩⲉⲡⲓⲥⲧⲟⲗⲏ ϩⲱⲥ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲓⲧⲟⲟⲧⲛ ⲛⲑⲉ ϫⲉ ⲁⲡⲉϩⲟⲟⲩ ⲙⲡϫⲟⲉⲓⲥ ϩⲱⲛ ⲉϩⲟⲩⲛ
not to be quickly shaken from your conviction or disturbed, whether by a spirit or a word or a letter as from us, as though the Day of Christ has come.
3 ⲅ̅ ⲙⲡⲣⲧⲣⲉ ⲗⲁⲁⲩ ϭⲉ ⲣϩⲁⲗ ⲙⲙⲱⲧⲛ ⲕⲁⲧⲁ ⲗⲁⲁⲩ ⲥⲙⲟⲧ ϫⲉ ⲉⲣϣⲁⲛⲧⲙ ⲧⲁⲡⲟⲥⲧⲁⲥⲓⲁ ⲉⲓ ⲛϣⲟⲣⲡ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛϥϭⲱⲗⲡ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲛϭⲓ ⲡⲣⲱⲙⲉ ⲛⲧⲁⲛⲟⲙⲓⲁ ⲡϣⲏⲣⲉ ⲙⲡⲧⲁⲕⲟ
Do not let anyone deceive you by any means; because that day cannot come unless the rebellion comes first and the man of sin is revealed, the son of ruin,
4 ⲇ̅ ⲡⲁⲛⲧⲓⲕⲉⲓⲙⲉⲛⲟⲥ ⲉⲧϫⲓⲥⲉ ⲙⲙⲟϥ ⲉϫⲛ ⲟⲩⲟⲛ ⲛⲓⲙ ⲉⲧⲟⲩⲙⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲉⲣⲟⲟⲩ ϫⲉ ⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲏ ⲟⲩⲟⲡ ϩⲱⲥⲧⲉ ⲛϥⲃⲱⲕ ⲉϩⲟⲩⲛ ⲉⲡⲣⲡⲉ ⲙⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲛϥϩⲙⲟⲟⲥ ⲉϥⲟⲩⲱⲛϩ ⲙⲙⲟϥ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϫⲉ ⲟⲩⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲡⲉ
who opposes and exalts himself over everything that is called a god or an object of worship, to the point of taking his seat as God in God's sanctuary, proclaiming himself to be God.
5 ⲉ̅ ⲛⲧⲉⲧⲛⲣⲡⲙⲉⲉⲩⲉ ⲁⲛ ϫⲉ ϫⲓ ⲛⲉⲓϩⲁⲧⲉ ⲧⲏⲩⲧⲛ ⲛⲉⲓϫⲱ ⲛⲏⲧⲛ ⲛⲛⲁⲓ ⲡⲉ
(Don't you remember that I used to tell you these things while still with you?)
6 ⲋ̅ ⲧⲉⲛⲟⲩ ϭⲉ ⲧⲉⲧⲛⲥⲟⲟⲩⲛ ⲙⲡⲉⲧⲕⲁⲧⲉⲭⲉ ⲉⲧⲣⲉϥϭⲱⲗⲡ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲙ ⲡⲉϥⲟⲩⲟⲉⲓϣ
So now you know what is restraining, to the end that he may be revealed at his own time.
7 ⲍ̅ ⲡⲙⲩⲥⲧⲏⲣⲓⲟⲛ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲛⲧⲁⲛⲟⲙⲓⲁ ⲉⲛⲉⲣⲅⲓ ϫⲓⲛ ⲧⲉⲛⲟⲩ ⲙⲟⲛⲟⲛ ⲡⲉⲧⲕⲁⲧⲉⲭⲉ ⲧⲉⲛⲟⲩ ϣⲁⲛⲧϥⲗⲟ ⲛⲧⲙⲏⲧⲉ
For the mystery of the lawlessness is already at work; only He who now restrains will do so until He removes Himself.
8 ⲏ̅ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲧⲟⲧⲉ ϥⲛⲁⲟⲩⲱⲛϩ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲛϭⲓ ⲡⲁⲛⲟⲙⲟⲥ ⲡⲉⲧⲉⲣⲉ ⲡϫⲟⲉⲓⲥ ⲓⲏⲥ ⲛⲁⲧⲁⲕⲟϥ ϩⲙ ⲡⲉⲡⲛⲁ ⲛⲣⲱϥ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛϥⲕⲁⲧⲁⲣⲅⲉⲓ ⲙⲙⲟϥ ϩⲙ ⲡⲟⲩⲱⲛϩ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲛⲧⲉϥⲡⲁⲣϩⲟⲩⲥⲓⲁ
And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord will consume with the breath of His mouth and abolish by the splendor of His coming;
9 ⲑ̅ ⲡⲁⲓ ⲉⲧⲉⲣⲉⲧⲉϥⲡⲁⲣϩⲟⲩⲥⲓⲁ ⲛⲧⲟϥ ϣⲟⲟⲡ ⲕⲁⲧⲁ ⲧⲉⲛⲉⲣⲅⲓⲁ ⲙⲡⲥⲁⲧⲁⲛⲁⲥ ϩⲛ ϭⲟⲙ ⲛⲓⲙ ⲙⲛⲙⲙⲁⲉⲓⲛ ⲙⲛ ⲛⲉϣⲡⲏⲣⲉ ⲛϭⲟⲗ
that one's coming is according to the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders,
10 ⲓ̅ ⲁⲩⲱ ϩⲛ ⲁⲡⲁⲧⲏ ⲛⲓⲙ ⲛϫⲓ ⲛϭⲟⲛⲥ ⲛⲛⲉⲧⲛⲁⲧⲁⲕⲟ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϫⲉ ⲙⲡⲟⲩϣⲱⲡ ⲉⲣⲟⲟⲩ ⲛⲧⲁⲅⲁⲡⲏ ⲛⲧⲙⲉ ⲉⲧⲣⲉⲩⲟⲩϫⲁⲓ
and with all wicked deception among those who are wasting themselves, because they did not receive the love of the truth so that they might be saved.
11 ⲓ̅ⲁ̅ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲉⲧⲃⲉ ⲡⲁⲓ ⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲛⲁⲧⲛⲛⲟⲟⲩ ⲛⲁⲩ ⲛⲟⲩⲉⲛⲉⲣⲅⲓⲁ ⲙⲡⲗⲁⲛⲏ ⲉⲧⲣⲉⲩⲡⲓⲥⲧⲉⲩⲉ ⲉⲡϭⲟⲗ
Yes, because of this God will send them an active delusion so that they will believe the lie
12 ⲓ̅ⲃ̅ ϫⲉ ⲉⲩⲉⲕⲣⲓⲛⲉ ⲛⲟⲩⲟⲛ ⲛⲓⲙ ⲉⲧⲉⲙⲡⲟⲩⲡⲓⲥⲧⲉⲩⲉ ⲉⲧⲙⲉ ⲁⲗⲗⲁ ⲉⲁⲩⲧⲱⲧ ⲛϩⲏⲧ ϩⲙ ⲡϫⲓ ⲛϭⲟⲛⲥ
and so that all may be condemned who have not believed the truth but have taken pleasure in wickedness.
13 ⲓ̅ⲅ̅ ⲁⲛⲟⲛ ⲇⲉ ϣϣⲉ ⲉⲣⲟⲛ ⲉϣⲡϩⲙⲟⲧ ⲛⲧⲙ ⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲛⲟⲩⲟⲉⲓϣ ⲛⲓⲙ ϩⲁⲣⲱⲧⲛ ⲛⲉⲥⲛⲏⲩ ⲙⲙⲉⲣⲓⲧ ⲛⲧⲙⲡϫⲟⲉⲓⲥ ϫⲉ ⲁⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲥⲉⲧⲡ ⲧⲏⲩⲧⲛ ϫⲓⲛ ⲛϣⲟⲣⲡ ⲉⲩⲟⲩϫⲁⲓ ϩⲛ ⲟⲩⲧⲃⲃⲟ ⲙⲡⲛⲁ ⲙⲛ ⲟⲩⲡⲓⲥⲧⲓⲥ ⲛⲧⲉⲧⲙⲉ
Now we are obligated to always give thanks to God about you, brothers loved by the Lord, because from the beginning God chose you into salvation, through sanctification of spirit and belief in truth,
14 ⲓ̅ⲇ̅ ⲉⲁϥⲧⲉϩⲙ ⲧⲏⲩⲧⲛ ⲉⲡⲁⲓ ϩⲓⲧⲙ ⲡⲉⲛⲉⲩⲁⲅⲅⲉⲗⲓⲟⲛ ⲉⲡⲟⲩϫⲁⲓ ⲙⲡⲉⲟⲟⲩ ⲙⲡⲉⲛϫⲟⲉⲓⲥ ⲓⲏⲥ ⲡⲉⲭⲥ
to which He called you through our gospel, so as to obtain the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.
15 ⲓ̅ⲉ̅ ⲁⲣⲁ ϭⲉ ⲛⲁⲥⲛⲏⲩ ⲁϩⲉⲣⲁⲧ ⲧⲏⲩⲧⲛ ⲛⲧⲉⲧⲛⲁⲙⲁϩⲧⲉ ⲛⲙⲡⲁⲣⲁⲇⲟⲥⲓⲥ ⲉⲛⲧⲁⲛⲧⲥⲁⲃⲉ ⲧⲏⲩⲧⲛ ⲉⲣⲟⲟⲩ ⲉⲓⲧⲉ ϩⲓⲧⲙ ⲡϣⲁϫⲉ ⲉⲓⲧⲉ ϩⲓⲧⲛ ⲛⲉⲛⲉⲡⲓⲥⲧⲟⲗⲏ
So then, brothers, stand firm and hold to the traditions that you were taught by us, whether by word or by letter.
16 ⲓ̅ⲋ̅ ⲛⲧⲟϥ ⲇⲉ ⲡⲉⲛϫⲟⲉⲓⲥ ⲓⲏⲥ ⲡⲉⲭⲥ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲡⲉⲛⲉⲓⲱⲧ ⲡⲁⲓ ⲉⲛⲧⲁϥⲙⲉⲣⲓⲧⲛ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲁϥϯ ⲛⲁⲛ ⲛⲟⲩⲥⲟⲡⲥ ⲛϣⲁ ⲉⲛⲉϩ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲟⲩϩⲉⲗⲡⲓⲥ ⲉⲛⲁⲛⲟⲩⲥ ϩⲛ ⲟⲩⲭⲁⲣⲓⲥ (aiōnios g166)
Now may our Lord Jesus Christ Himself, and our God and Father, who loved us and gave us eternal comfort and good hope, by grace, (aiōnios g166)
17 ⲓ̅ⲍ̅ ⲉϥⲉⲡⲁⲣⲁⲕⲁⲗⲉⲓ ⲛⲛⲉⲧⲛϩⲏⲧ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛϥⲧⲁϫⲣⲉ ⲧⲏⲩⲧⲛ ϩⲛ ϩⲱⲃ ⲛⲓⲙ ⲙⲛ ⲡϣⲁϫⲉ ⲉⲧⲛⲁⲛⲟⲩϥ
encourage your hearts and strengthen you in every good word and work.
