1 ⲁ̅ ⲥⲓⲙⲱⲛ ⲡⲉⲧⲣⲟⲥ ⲡϩⲙϩⲁⲗ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲡⲁⲡⲟⲥⲧⲟⲗⲟⲥ ⲛⲓⲏⲥ ⲡⲉⲭⲥ ⲉϥⲥϩⲁⲓ ⲛⲛⲉⲛⲧⲁⲩ ϫⲓ ⲛⲧⲡⲓⲥⲧⲓⲥ ϩⲙ ⲡⲉⲓⲧⲁⲓⲟ ⲛⲛⲟⲩⲱⲧ ⲛⲧⲉⲛϩⲉ ϩⲛ ⲧⲇⲓⲕⲁⲓⲟⲥⲩⲛⲏ ⲙⲡⲉⲛϫⲟⲉⲓⲥ ⲓⲥ ⲡⲉⲭⲥ ⲡⲉⲛⲥⲱⲧⲏⲣ
Simon Peter, slave and apostle of Jesus Christ, to those who have obtained with us the same kind of faith in the righteousness of our God and Savior, Jesus Christ:
2 ⲃ̅ ⲧⲉⲭⲁⲣⲓⲥ ⲙⲛ ϯⲣⲏⲛⲏ ⲉⲥⲉⲁϣⲁⲓ ⲛⲏⲧⲛ ϩⲙ ⲡⲥⲟⲟⲩⲛ ⲙⲡⲉⲛϫⲟⲉⲓⲥ ⲓⲏⲥ
may grace and peace be multiplied to you through a real knowledge of God and of our Lord Jesus,
3 ⲅ̅ ϩⲱⲥ ⲉⲁϥⲭⲁⲣⲓⲍⲉ ⲛⲁⲛ ϩⲓⲧⲛ ⲧⲉϥϭⲟⲙ ⲉⲧⲟⲩⲁⲁⲃ ⲛϩⲱⲃ ⲛⲓⲙ ⲉϫⲓ ⲉϩⲟⲩⲛ ⲉⲡⲱⲛϩ ⲙⲛ ⲧⲙⲛⲧⲣⲉϥϣⲙϣⲉ ⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲓⲧⲙ ⲡⲥⲟⲟⲩⲛ ⲙⲡⲉⲛⲧⲁϥ ϩⲙ ⲡⲉϥⲉⲟⲟⲩ ⲙⲛ ⲧⲉϥⲁⲣⲉⲧⲏ
in that His divine power has granted to us all things pertaining to life and godliness, through the real knowledge of the One who called us by glory and excellence,
4 ⲇ̅ ⲛⲁⲓ ⲛⲧⲁϥⲭⲁⲣⲓⲍⲉ ⲛⲏⲧⲛ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲓⲧⲟⲟⲧⲟⲩ ⲛⲛⲉⲛⲟϭ ⲛⲉⲉⲣⲏⲧ ⲉⲧⲁⲉⲓⲏⲩ ϫⲉⲕⲁⲥ ϩⲓⲧⲛ ⲛⲁⲓ ⲉⲧⲉⲧⲛⲛⲁϣⲱⲡⲉ ⲛⲛⲕⲟⲓⲛⲟⲛⲟⲥ ⲛⲧⲉⲫⲓⲥⲓⲥ ⲉⲧⲟⲩⲁⲁⲃ ⲉⲁⲧⲉⲧⲛⲡⲱⲧ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲉⲧⲉⲡⲓⲑⲩⲙⲓⲁ ⲙⲡⲧⲁⲕⲟ ⲉⲧϩⲙ ⲡⲕⲟⲥⲙⲟⲥ
through which He has granted to us such precious and extraordinary promises, so that through these you may become partakers of a divine nature, having escaped the depravity that is in the world because of lust.
5 ⲉ̅ ⲁⲩⲱ ϩⲙ ⲡⲁⲓ ⲟⲛ ⲁⲧⲉⲧⲛⲉⲓⲛⲉ ⲉϩⲟⲩⲛ ⲛⲥⲡⲟⲩⲇⲏ ⲛⲓⲙ ⲛⲧⲉⲧⲛⲭⲱⲣⲏⲅⲉⲓ ⲛⲧⲁⲣⲉⲧⲏ ⲉϩⲣⲁⲓ ϩⲛ ⲧⲉⲧⲛⲡⲓⲥⲧⲓⲥ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲡⲥⲟⲟⲩⲛ ϩⲣⲁⲓ ϩⲛ ⲧⲁⲣⲓⲧⲏ
So for this very reason, making every effort, to your faith add excellence, and to the excellence knowledge,
6 ⲋ̅ ⲧⲉⲛⲅⲣⲁⲧⲓⲁ ⲇⲉ ⲉϩⲣⲁⲓ ϩⲙ ⲡⲥⲟⲟⲩⲛ ⲑⲩⲡⲟⲙⲟⲛⲏ ⲇⲉ ⲉϩⲣⲁⲓ ϩⲛ ⲧⲉⲅⲣⲁⲧⲓⲁ ⲧⲙⲛⲧⲣⲉϥϣⲙϣⲉ ⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲇⲉ ϩⲛ ⲑⲩⲡⲟⲙⲟⲛⲏ
and to the knowledge self-control, and to the self-control perseverance, and to the perseverance godliness,
7 ⲍ̅ ⲧⲙⲛⲧⲙⲁⲓ ⲥⲟⲛ ⲇⲉ ϩⲛ ⲧⲙⲛⲧⲣⲉϥϣⲉⲙϣⲉ ⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲧⲁⲅⲁⲡⲏ ϩⲣⲁⲓ ϩⲛ ⲧⲙⲛⲧⲙⲁⲓ ⲥⲟⲛ
and to the godliness brotherly affection, and to the brotherly affection love.
8 ⲏ̅ ⲛⲁⲓ ⲇⲉ ⲉⲩϣⲟⲟⲡ ⲛⲏⲧⲛ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲉⲩⲣ ϩⲟⲩⲟ ⲛⲛⲉⲩⲛⲁϫⲓ ⲧⲏⲩⲧⲛ ⲁⲛ ⲁϫⲛ ϩⲱⲃ ⲟⲩⲇⲉ ⲁϫⲉⲛ ⲕⲁⲣⲡⲟⲥ ⲉϩⲟⲩⲛ ⲉⲡⲥⲟⲟⲩⲛ ⲙⲡⲉⲛϫⲟⲉⲓⲥ ⲓⲏⲥ ⲡⲉⲭⲥ
Because with these things existing and increasing in you, it makes you to be neither useless nor unfruitful in the real knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.
9 ⲑ̅ ⲡⲉⲧⲉ ⲛⲛⲁⲓ ⲅⲁⲣ ϣⲟⲟⲡ ⲛⲁϥ ⲁⲛ ⲟⲩⲃⲗⲗⲉ ⲡⲉ ⲛϥⲛⲁⲩ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲁⲛⲉⲁϥϫⲓ ⲛⲟⲩⲉϥϣⲉ ⲙⲡⲧⲃⲃⲟ ⲛⲛⲉϥϣⲟⲣⲡ ⲛⲛⲟⲃⲉ
For he who lacks these things is blind, being so myopic, having forgotten the cleansing from his past sins.
10 ⲓ̅ ⲉⲧⲃⲉ ⲡⲁⲓ ⲛϩⲟⲩⲟ ⲛⲉⲥⲛⲏⲩ ⲥⲡⲟⲩⲇⲁⲍⲉ ϫⲉⲕⲁⲥ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲓⲧⲛ ⲛⲉϩⲃⲏⲩⲉ ⲉⲧⲛⲁⲛⲟⲩⲟⲩ ⲉⲧⲉⲧⲛϫⲡⲟ ⲛⲏⲧⲛ ⲛⲧⲉⲧⲛⲡⲓⲥⲧⲓⲥ ⲉⲥⲧⲁϫⲣⲏⲩ ⲙⲛ ⲡⲉⲧⲉⲛⲧⲱϩⲙ ⲙⲛ ⲧⲉⲧⲛⲙⲛⲧⲥⲱⲡⲧ ⲛⲁⲓ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲉⲧⲉⲧⲛⲉⲓⲣⲉ ⲙⲙⲟⲟⲩ ⲛⲧⲉⲧⲛⲛⲁϩⲉ ⲁⲛ ⲉⲛⲉϩ
Therefore, brothers, you should be all the more diligent to make your calling and election sure, for if you do these things you will never stumble.
11 ⲓ̅ⲁ̅ ⲧⲁⲓ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲧⲉ ⲧⲑⲉ ⲉⲧⲟⲩⲛⲁϯ ⲛⲏⲧⲛ ϩⲉ ⲟⲩⲙⲛⲧⲣⲙⲙⲁⲟ ⲛⲧⲉϩⲓⲏ ⲛⲃⲱⲕ ⲉϩⲟⲩ ⲛⲧⲙⲛⲧⲣⲣⲟ ⲛϣⲁ ⲉⲛⲉϩ ⲙⲡⲉⲛϫⲟⲉⲓⲥ ⲓⲏⲥ ⲡⲉⲭⲥ ⲡⲉⲛⲥⲱⲧⲏⲣ (aiōnios )
Because in this way you will be granted the abundant entrance into the unending kingdom of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. (aiōnios )
12 ⲓ̅ⲃ̅ ⲉⲧⲃⲉ ⲡⲁⲓ ϯⲛⲁϥⲉⲓ ⲣⲟⲟⲩϣ ⲛⲛⲟⲩⲟⲉⲓϣ ⲛⲓⲙ ⲉⲧⲉⲣⲉⲧⲉⲛⲣ ⲡⲙⲉⲉⲩⲉ ⲉⲧⲃⲉ ⲛⲁⲓ ⲕⲁⲓⲡⲉⲣ ⲧⲉⲧⲛⲥⲟⲟⲩⲛ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛⲛⲉⲧⲉⲧⲛⲧⲁϫⲣⲏⲩ ϩⲛ ⲧⲙⲉ ⲉⲧϣⲟⲟⲡ
So then, I will not neglect to keep reminding you about these things, though you know and are established in the present truth.
13 ⲓ̅ⲅ̅ ϯϫⲱ ⲇⲉ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ϫⲉ ⲟⲩⲇⲓⲕⲁⲓⲟⲛ ⲉⲫⲟⲥⲟⲛ ⲉⲓϩⲙ ⲡⲉⲓⲙⲁ ⲛϣⲱⲱⲡⲉ ⲉⲧⲟⲩⲛⲉⲥ ⲧⲏⲩⲧⲛ ϩⲙ ⲡⲉⲣ ⲡⲙⲉⲉⲩⲉ
Yes, I think it right to stir you up by a reminder, as long as I am in this ‘tent’,
14 ⲓ̅ⲇ̅ ⲉⲓⲥⲟⲟⲩⲛ ϫⲉ ϯⲛⲁⲕⲱ ⲉϩⲣⲁⲓ ⲙⲡⲁⲥⲱⲙⲁ ϩⲛ ⲟⲩϭⲉⲡⲏ ⲕⲁⲧⲁ ⲑⲉ ⲛⲧⲁϥⲧⲁⲙⲟⲓ ⲛϭⲓ ⲡⲉⲛϫⲟⲉⲓⲥ ⲓⲏⲥ ⲡⲉⲭⲥ
knowing that the shedding of my ‘tent’ is imminent, just as our Lord Jesus Christ has made clear to me.
15 ⲓ̅ⲉ̅ ϯⲛⲁⲥⲡⲟⲩⲇⲁⲍⲉ ⲇⲉ ⲟⲛ ⲙⲛⲛⲥⲁ ⲉⲧⲣⲁⲉⲓ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲉⲧⲣⲉⲧⲛⲕⲱ ⲛⲏⲧⲛ ⲛⲛⲟⲩⲟⲉⲓϣ ⲛⲓⲙ ⲙⲡⲣⲡ ⲡⲙⲉⲉⲩⲉ ⲛⲛⲁⲓ
Moreover I will take pains to provide a reminder of these things for you to have, as needed, after my exit.
16 ⲓ̅ⲋ̅ ⲛⲧⲁⲛⲛⲟⲩⲁϩⲉⲛ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲁⲛ ⲛⲥⲁ ϩⲉⲛϣⲁϫⲉ ⲉⲁⲩⲧⲃⲧⲱⲃⲟⲩ ⲁⲛⲟⲩⲱⲛϩ ⲛⲏⲧⲛ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲛⲧϭⲟⲙ ⲙⲡⲉⲛϫⲟⲉⲓⲥ ⲓⲏⲥ ⲡⲉⲭⲥ ⲙⲛ ⲧⲉϥⲡⲁⲣϩⲟⲩⲥⲓⲁ ⲁⲗⲗⲁ ⲉⲁⲛⲛⲁⲩ ⲉⲧⲙⲛⲧⲛⲟϭ ⲙⲡⲉⲧⲙⲙⲁⲩ
Now then, we did not follow craftily devised fables when we made known to you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ; rather we were attentive eyewitnesses of His majesty
17 ⲓ̅ⲍ̅ ⲉⲁϥϫⲓ ⲛⲧⲉ ⲙⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲡⲉⲓⲱⲧ ⲛⲟⲩⲧⲁⲓⲟ ⲙⲛ ⲟⲩⲉⲟⲟⲩ ⲉⲁⲩⲉⲓⲛⲉ ⲛⲁϥ ⲛⲛⲟⲩⲥⲙⲏ ⲛⲧⲉⲓⲙⲉⲓⲛⲉ ϩⲓⲧⲙ ⲡⲛⲟϭ ⲛⲉⲟⲟⲩ ϫⲉ ⲡⲁϣⲏⲣⲉ ⲡⲁⲙⲉⲣⲓⲧ ⲡⲁⲓ ⲁⲛⲟⲕ ⲛⲧⲁⲡⲁⲟⲩⲱϣ ϣⲱⲡⲉ ⲛϩⲏⲧϥ
—because He received from God the Father honor and glory when that Voice was directed to Him by the Magnificent Glory, “This is my Son, the beloved, in whom I am always well pleased”—
18 ⲓ̅ⲏ̅ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲁⲛⲟⲛ ⲁⲛⲥⲱⲧⲙ ⲉⲧⲉⲓⲥⲙⲏ ⲛⲧⲁⲥⲉⲓ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲛ ⲧⲡⲉ ⲉⲛϣⲟⲟⲡ ⲛⲙⲙⲁϥ ϩⲙ ⲡⲧⲟⲟⲩ ⲉⲧⲟⲩⲁⲁⲃ
yes, we heard this Voice being uttered from heaven when we were with Him on the holy mountain.
19 ⲓ̅ⲑ̅ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲟⲩⲛⲧⲁⲛ ⲙⲙⲁⲩ ⲙⲡϣⲁϫⲉ ⲙⲡⲉⲡⲣⲟⲫⲏⲧⲏⲥ ⲉϥⲧⲁϫⲣⲏⲩ ⲡⲁⲓ ⲕⲁⲗⲱⲥ ⲉⲧⲉⲧⲛⲉⲓⲣⲉ ⲙⲙⲟϥ ⲉⲧⲉⲧⲛϯ ϩⲧⲏⲧⲛ ⲉⲣⲟϥ ⲛⲑⲉ ⲛⲟⲩϩⲏⲃⲥ ⲉϥⲙⲟⲩϩ ϩⲛ ⲟⲩⲙⲁ ⲛⲕⲁⲕⲉ ϣⲁⲛⲧⲉⲡⲉϩⲟⲟⲩ ⲉⲣ ⲟⲩⲟⲉⲓⲛ ⲛⲧⲉⲡⲥⲟⲩ ⲛϩⲧⲟⲟⲩⲉ ϣⲁ ϩⲛ ⲛⲉⲧⲉⲛϩⲏⲧ
And so we have the most reliable prophetic Word, to which you do well to pay attention as to a lamp shining in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts;
20 ⲕ̅ ⲡⲁⲓ ⲛϣⲟⲣⲡ ⲉⲧⲉⲧⲛⲉⲓⲙⲉ ⲉⲣⲟϥ ϫⲉ ⲡⲣⲟⲫⲏⲧⲓⲁ ⲛⲓⲙ ⲛⲅⲣⲁⲫⲏ ⲙⲉⲣⲉⲡⲉⲥⲃⲱⲗ ϣⲱⲡⲉ ϩⲁⲣⲟⲥ ⲙⲁⲩⲁⲁⲥ
knowing this first, that no Prophecy of Scripture comes to be from private release;
21 ⲕ̅ⲁ̅ ⲛⲧⲁⲩⲉⲓⲛⲉ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲁⲛ ⲛⲧⲉⲡⲣⲟⲫⲏⲧⲓⲁ ⲙⲡⲉⲓⲟⲩⲟⲉⲓϣ ϩⲛ ⲟⲩⲱϣ ⲛⲣⲱⲙⲉ ⲁⲗⲗⲁ ⲛⲧⲁⲩϣⲁϫⲉ ⲛϭⲓ ⲛⲣⲱⲙⲉ ⲉⲧⲟⲩⲁⲁⲃ ⲙⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲉⲩⲕⲓⲙ ⲉⲣⲟⲟⲩ ϩⲓⲧⲙ ⲡⲉⲡⲛⲁ ⲉⲧⲟⲩⲁⲁⲃ
for no Prophecy ever came by the will of man, rather holy men of God spoke as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit.
