1 ⲁ̅ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲁⲥϣⲱⲡⲓ ⳿ⲉⲧⲁ Ⲓⲏ̅ⲥ̅ ⲕⲏⲛ ⲉϥⲟⲩⲁϩⲥⲁϩⲛⲓ ⳿ⲉⲧⲟⲧϥ ⳿ⲙⲡⲉϥ ⲓ̅ⲃ̅ ⳿ⲙⲙⲁⲑⲏⲧⲏⲥ ⲁϥⲟⲩ⳿ⲱⲧⲉⲃ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⳿ⲙⲙⲁⲩ ⲉⲑⲣⲉϥϯ⳿ⲥⲃⲱ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉϥϩⲓⲱⲓϣ ⳿ⲛ⳿ϩⲣⲏⲓ ϧⲉⲛ ⲛⲟⲩⲃⲁⲕⲓ.
AND it was that when Jeshu had finished instructing his twelve disciples, he removed from thence to teach and preach in their cities.
2 ⲃ̅ Ⲓⲱⲁⲛⲛⲏⲥ ⲇⲉ ⳿ⲉⲧⲁϥⲥⲱⲧⲉⲙ ⲉϥⲭⲏ ϧⲉⲛ ⲡⲓ⳿ϣⲧⲉⲕⲟ ⲉⲑⲃⲉ ⲛⲓ⳿ϩⲃⲏⲟⲩⲓ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ Ⲡⲭ̅ⲥ̅ ⲁϥⲟⲩⲱⲣⲡ ⳿ⲛⲃ̅ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗϧⲉⲛ ⲛⲉϥⲙⲁⲑⲏⲧⲏⲥ.
But Juchanon, when he heard in the house of the bound the works of the Meshicha, sent by his disciples,
and said to him, Art thou He that cometh, or another are we to expect?
4 ⲇ̅ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⳿ⲉⲧⲁϥ⳿ⲉⲣⲟⲩ⳿ⲱ ⳿ⲛϫⲉ Ⲓⲏ̅ⲥ̅ ⲡⲉϫⲁϥ ⲛⲱⲟⲩ ϫⲉ ⲙⲁϣⲉⲛⲱⲧⲉⲛ ⲙⲁⲧⲁⲙⲉ Ⲓⲱⲁⲛⲛⲏⲥ ⳿ⲉⲛⲏ⳿ⲉⲧⲉⲧⲉⲛⲛⲁⲩ ⳿ⲉⲣⲱⲟⲩ ⲛⲉⲙ ⲛⲏ⳿ⲉⲧⲉⲧⲉⲛⲥⲱⲧⲉⲙ ⳿ⲉⲣⲱⲟⲩ.
Jeshu answered and said to them, Go, recount to Juchanon these things which you hear and see;
5 ⲉ̅ ϫⲉ ⲛⲓⲃⲉⲗⲗⲉⲩ ⲥⲉⲛⲁⲩ ⳿ⲙⲃⲟⲗ ⲛⲓϭⲁⲗⲉⲩ ⲥⲉⲙⲟϣⲓ ⲛⲓⲕⲁⲕⲥⲉϩⲧ ⲥⲉⲧⲟⲩⲃⲏⲟⲩⲧ ⲛⲓⲕⲟⲩⲣ ⲥⲉⲥⲱⲧⲉⲙ ⲛⲓⲣⲉϥⲙⲱⲟⲩⲧ ⲥⲉⲧⲱⲟⲩⲛⲟⲩ ⲛⲓϩⲏⲕⲓ ⲥⲉϩⲓϣⲉⲛⲛⲟⲩϥⲓ ⲛⲱⲟⲩ.
(that) the blind see, the lame are walking, the lepers are made clean, the deaf hear, the dead arise, and the poor are evangelized;
and blessed is he who shall not be offended with me.
7 ⲍ̅ ⲛⲁⲓ ⲇⲉ ⲉⲩⲛⲁϣⲉⲛⲱⲟⲩ ⲁϥⲉⲣϩⲏⲧⲥ ⳿ⲛϫⲉ Ⲓⲏ̅ⲥ̅ ⳿ⲛϫⲟⲥ ⳿ⲛⲛⲓⲙⲏϣ ⲉⲑⲃⲉ Ⲓⲱⲁⲛⲛⲏⲥ ϫⲉ ⳿ⲉⲧⲁⲣⲉⲧⲉⲛ⳿ⲓ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⳿ⲉ⳿ⲡϣⲁϥⲉ ⳿ⲉⲛⲁⲩ ⳿ⲉⲟⲩ ⳿ⲉⲟⲩⲕⲁϣ ⳿ⲉⲣⲉ ⲡⲓⲑⲏⲟⲩ ⲕⲓⲙ ⳿ⲉⲣⲟϥ.
But when they were gone, Jeshu began to speak to the assembly concerning Juchanon: What went you forth into the waste to see? a reed that by the wind was shaken?
8 ⲏ̅ ⲁⲗⲗⲁ ⳿ⲉⲧⲁⲣⲉⲧⲉⲛ⳿ⲓ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⳿ⲉⲛⲁⲩ ⳿ⲉⲟⲩ ⳿ⲉⲟⲩⲣⲱⲙⲓ ⲉϥⲭⲏ ϧⲉⲛ ϩⲁⲛϭⲓ⳿ϩⲃⲱⲥ ⳿ⲛϫⲁⲛⲏ ϩⲏⲡⲡⲉ ⲓⲥ ⲛⲁ ⲛⲓ⳿ϩⲃⲱⲥ ⳿ⲛϫⲁⲛⲏ ⲥⲉⲭⲏ ϧⲉⲛ ⲛⲉⲛⲏⲟⲩ ⳿ⲛⲛⲓⲟⲩⲣⲱⲟⲩ.
And if not, what went you forth to see? a man clothed in soft vestments? Behold, they who are softly clothed are in the house of kings.
9 ⲑ̅ ⲁⲗⲗⲁ ⳿ⲉⲧⲁⲣⲉⲧⲉⲛ⳿ⲓ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲉⲑⲃⲉ ⲟⲩ ⳿ⲉⲛⲁⲩ ⳿ⲉⲟⲩ⳿ⲡⲣⲟⲫⲏⲧⲏⲥ ⳿ⲁϩⲁ ϯϫⲱ ⳿ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ⲛⲱⲧⲉⲛ ϫⲉ ⲟⲩϩⲟⲩ⳿ⲟ ⳿ⲉⲟⲩ⳿ⲡⲣⲟⲫⲏⲧⲏⲥ.
And if not, what went you forth to see? a prophet? I tell you, Yes; and more than a prophet.
10 ⲓ̅ ⲫⲁⲓ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲫⲏⲉⲧ⳿ⲥϧⲏⲟⲩⲧ ⲉⲑⲃⲏⲧϥ ϫⲉ ϩⲏⲡⲡⲉ ϯⲛⲁⲟⲩⲱⲣⲡ ⳿ⲙⲡⲁⲁⲅⲅⲉⲗⲟⲥ ϧⲁϫⲱⲕ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲉϥ⳿ⲉⲥⲟⲃϯ ⳿ⲙⲡⲉⲕⲙⲱⲓⲧ ⳿ⲙⲡⲉⲕ⳿ⲙⲑⲟ.
For this is he concerning whom it is written, Behold, I send my angel before thy face, to prepare the way before thee.
11 ⲓ̅ⲁ̅ ⳿ⲁⲙⲏⲛ ϯϫⲱ ⳿ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ⲛⲱⲧⲉⲛ ϫⲉ ⳿ⲙⲡⲉ ⲟⲩⲟⲛ ⲧⲱⲛϥ ϧⲉⲛ ⲛⲓⲙⲓⲥⲓ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ ⲛⲓϩⲓ⳿ⲟⲙⲓ ⳿ⲉⲛⲁⲁϥ ⳿ⲉⲒⲱⲁⲛⲛⲏⲥ ⲡⲓⲣⲉϥϯⲱⲙⲥ ⲡⲓⲕⲟⲩϫⲓ ⲇⲉ ⳿ⲉⲣⲟϥ ϧⲉⲛ ϯⲙⲉⲧⲟⲩⲣⲟ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ ⲛⲓⲫⲏⲟⲩ⳿ⲓ ⲟⲩⲛⲓϣϯ ⳿ⲉⲣⲟϥ ⲡⲉ.
Amen I say to you, there hath not arisen among them born of women who greater than Juchanon the Baptizer: yet, the least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he.
12 ⲓ̅ⲃ̅ ⲓⲥϫⲉⲛ ⲛⲓ⳿ⲉϩⲟⲟⲩ ⲇⲉ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ Ⲓⲱⲁⲛⲛⲏⲥ ⲡⲓⲣⲉϥϯⲱⲙⲥ ϣⲁ ⳿ⲉϧⲟⲩⲛ ⳿ⲉϯⲛⲟⲩ ϯⲙⲉⲧⲟⲩⲣⲟ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ ⲛⲓⲫⲏⲟⲩ⳿ⲓ ⲥⲉϭⲓ ⳿ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ⳿ⲛϫⲟⲛⲥ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ϩⲁⲛⲣⲉϥϭⲓ ⳿ⲛϫⲟⲛⲥ ⲉⲧϩⲱⲗⲉⲙ ⳿ⲙⲙⲟⲥ.
But from the days of Juchanon the Baptizer until now, the kingdom of the heavens by violence is taken, and the violent ones seize it.
For all the prophets and the law prophesied until Juchanon;
and if you are willing, receive, that he is Elia who was to come.
Whoever hath ears to hear, he shall hear.
16 ⲓ̅ⲋ̅ ⲁⲓⲛⲁⲧⲉⲛⲑⲱⲛ ⲧⲁⲓⲅ⳿ⲉⲛⲉ⳿ⲁ ⲇⲉ ⳿ⲉⲛⲓⲙ ⳿ⲥ⳿ⲟⲛⲓ ⳿ⲛϩⲁⲛ⳿ⲁⲗⲱⲟⲩ⳿ⲓ ⲉⲩϩⲉⲙⲥⲓ ϩⲓ ⲛⲓ⳿ⲁⲅⲟⲣⲁ ⲛⲁⲓ ⲉⲑⲙⲟⲩϯ ⲟⲩⲃⲉ ⲛⲟⲩ⳿ⲉⲣⲏⲟⲩ.
BUT to what shall I compare this generation? It is like children who sit in the public place, and cry to their companions,
and say, We have sung to you, and you have not danced; we have wailed unto you, and you have not mourned.
For Juchanon came neither eating nor drinking, and they say, He hath a devil.
19 ⲓ̅ⲑ̅ ⲁϥ⳿ⲓ ⲇⲉ ⳿ⲛϫⲉ Ⲡ̇ϣⲏⲣⲓ ⳿ⲙⲪ̇ⲣⲱⲙⲓ ⲉϥⲟⲩⲱⲙ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲉϥⲥⲱ ⲡⲉϫⲱⲟⲩ ϫⲉ ⲓⲥ ⲟⲩⲣⲱⲙⲓ ⳿ⲛⲣⲉϥⲟⲩⲱⲙ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⳿ⲛⲥⲁⲩⲏⲣⲡ ⳿ⲡ⳿ϣⲫⲏⲣ ⲡⲉ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ ⲛⲓⲧⲉⲗⲱⲛⲏⲥ ⲛⲉⲙ ⲛⲓⲣⲉϥⲉⲣⲛⲟⲃⲓ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲁⲥ⳿ⲑⲙⲁⲓ⳿ⲟ ⳿ⲛϫⲉ ϯⲥⲟⲫⲓ⳿ⲁ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϧⲉⲛ ⲛⲉⲥ⳿ϩⲃⲏⲟⲩ⳿ⲓ.
The Son of man came eating and drinking, and they say, See a man a devourer, a wine-drinker, a friend of tribute-takers and of sinners. But justified is wisdom by her servants.
20 ⲕ̅ ⲧⲟⲧⲉ ⲁϥⲉⲣϩⲏⲧⲥ ⳿ⲛϩⲓⲭⲟϩ ⳿ⲉϧⲟⲩⲛ ⳿ⲉⲛⲓⲃⲁⲕⲓ ⲛⲏ⳿ⲉⲧⲁ ⳿ⲡϩⲟⲩ⳿ⲟ ⳿ⲛⲛⲉϥϫⲟⲙ ϣⲱⲡⲓ ⳿ⲛϧⲏⲧⲟⲩ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⳿ⲙⲡⲟⲩⲉⲣⲙⲉⲧⲁⲛⲟⲓⲛ.
Then began Jeshu to reproach those cities in which were done many of his miracles, and which did not repent,
21 ⲕ̅ⲁ̅ ⲟⲩⲟⲓ ⲛⲉ Ⲭⲟⲣⲁⲍⲓⲛ ⲟⲩⲟⲓ ⲛⲉ Ⲃⲏⲑⲥⲁ⳿ⲓⲇⲁ ϫⲉ ⳿⳿ⲉⲛⲉ ⳿ⲁ ⲛⲁⲓϫⲟⲙ ϣⲱⲡⲓ ϧⲉⲛ Ⲧⲩⲣⲟⲥ ⲛⲉⲙ ⳿ⲧⲤⲓⲇⲱⲛ ⳿ⲉⲧⲁⲩϣⲱⲡⲓ ϧⲉⲛ ⲑⲏⲛⲟⲩ ⲛⲉ ⲓⲥ⳿ⲑⲛⲉⲓ ⲡⲉ ⲁⲩⲉⲣⲙⲉⲧⲁⲛⲟⲓⲛ ϧⲉⲛ ⲟⲩⲥⲟⲕ ⲛⲉⲙ ⲟⲩⲕⲉⲣⲙⲓ.
saying, Woe to thee, Korazin! woe to thee, Bethtsaida! for if in Tsur and in Tsaidon those miracles had been done which have been performed in you, they would a while ago in sackcloth and ashes have repented.
22 ⲕ̅ⲃ̅ ⳿ⲡⲗⲏⲛ ϯϫⲱ ⳿ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ⲛⲱⲧⲉⲛ ϫⲉ Ⲧⲩⲣⲟⲥ ⲛⲉⲙ ⳿ⲧⲤⲓⲇⲱⲛ ⲉⲩ⳿ⲉϯ⳿ⲁⲥⲟ ⳿ⲉⲣⲱⲟⲩ ϧⲉⲛ ⳿ⲡ⳿ⲉϩⲟⲟⲩ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ ϯ⳿ⲕⲣⲓⲥⲓⲥ ⳿ⲉϩⲟⲧⲉⲣⲱⲧⲉⲛ.
But I say to you, that for Tsur and Tsaidon it shall be more tolerable in the day of judgment than for you.
23 ⲕ̅ⲅ̅ ⲛⲉⲙ ⳿ⲛⲑⲟ ϩⲱⲓ Ⲕⲁⲫⲁⲣⲛⲁⲟⲩⲙ ⲙⲏ ⲧⲉⲣⲁϭⲓⲥⲓ ϣⲁ ⳿ⲉ⳿ϩⲣⲏⲓ ⳿ⲉ⳿ⲧⲫⲉ ⲉⲩ⳿ⲉⲑⲉⲃⲓ⳿ⲟ ϣⲁ ⳿ⲉ⳿ϧⲣⲏⲓ ⳿ⲉ⳿ⲁⲙⲉⲛϯ ϫⲉ ⳿⳿ⲉⲛⲉ ϧⲉⲛ Ⲥⲟⲇⲟⲙⲁ ⲁⲩϣⲱⲡⲓ ⳿ⲛϫⲉ ⲛⲁⲓϫⲟⲙ ⳿ⲉⲧⲁⲩϣⲱⲡⲓ ⳿ⲛϧⲏϯ ⲛⲉ ⲓⲥϫⲉⲕ ⲥⲉϣⲟⲡ ϣⲁ ⳿ⲉϧⲟⲩⲛ ⳿ⲉⲫⲟⲟⲩ. (Hadēs g86)
And thou, Kaphernachum, who unto heaven art exalted, unto Shiul shalt be brought down; for if in Sadum had been done those miracles which have been done in thee, it would have stood until this day. (Hadēs g86)
24 ⲕ̅ⲇ̅ ⳿ⲡⲗⲏⲛ ϯϫⲱ ⳿ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ⲛⲱⲧⲉⲛ ϫⲉ ⲡⲕⲁϩⲓ ⳿ⲛⲤⲟⲇⲟⲙⲁ ⲉⲩ⳿ⲉϯ⳿ⲁⲥⲟ ⳿ⲉⲣⲟϥ ϧⲉⲛ ⳿ⲡ⳿ⲉϩⲟⲟⲩ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ ϯ⳿ⲕⲣⲓⲥⲓⲥ ⳿ⲉϩⲟⲧⲉⲣⲟ.
But I tell you that for the land of Sadum it shall be more tolerable in the day of judgment than for thee.
25 ⲕ̅ⲉ̅ ⳿ⲛ⳿ϩⲣⲏⲓ ⲇⲉ ϧⲉⲛ ⲡⲓⲥⲏⲟⲩ ⳿ⲉⲧⲉ⳿ⲙⲙⲁⲩ ⲁϥ⳿ⲉⲣⲟⲩ⳿ⲱ ⳿ⲛϫⲉ Ⲓⲏ̅ⲥ̅ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲡⲉϫⲁϥ ϫⲉ ϯⲟⲩⲱⲛϩ ⲛⲁⲕ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗ Ⲫ̇ⲓⲱⲧ Ⲡ⳪ ⳿ⲛ⳿ⲧⲫⲉ ⲛⲉⲙ ⳿ⲡⲕⲁϩⲓ ϫⲉ ⲁⲕϩⲉⲡ ⲛⲁⲓ ⳿ⲉϩⲁⲛⲥⲁⲃⲉⲩ ⲛⲉⲙ ϩⲁⲛⲕⲁⲧϩⲏ ⲧ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲁⲕϭⲟⲣⲡⲟⲩ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⳿ⲛϩⲁⲛⲕⲟⲩϫⲓ ⳿ⲛ⳿ⲁⲗⲱⲟⲩ⳿ⲓ.
IN that time Jeshu answered and said, I praise thee, my Father, the Lord of the heavens and of the earth, that thou hast concealed these (things) from the wise and prudent, but hast revealed them unto little children.
Yes, my Father, for thus was it pleasing before thee!
27 ⲕ̅ⲍ̅ ϩⲱⲃ ⲛⲓⲃⲉⲛ ⳿ⲁ Ⲫ̇ⲓⲱⲧ ⲧⲏⲓⲧⲟⲩ ⳿ⲉⲧⲟⲧ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⳿ⲙⲙⲟⲛ ⳿ϩⲗⲓ ⲥⲱⲟⲩⲛ ⳿ⲙⲠ̇ϣⲏⲣⲓ ⳿ⲉⲃⲏⲗ ⳿ⲉⲪ̇ⲓⲱⲧ ⲟⲩⲇⲉ ⳿ⲙⲙⲟⲛ ⳿ϩⲗⲓ ⲥⲱⲟⲩⲛ ⳿ⲙⲪ̇ⲓⲱⲧ ⳿ⲉⲃⲏⲗ ⳿ⲉⲠ̇ϣⲏⲣⲓ ⲛⲉⲙ ⲫⲏ⳿ⲉⲧⲉϩⲛⲉ Ⲡ̇ϣⲏⲣⲓ ⳿ⲉϭⲱⲣⲡ ⲛⲁϥ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗ.
All things are delivered to me from my Father; and no man knoweth the Son but the Father; also the Father no man knoweth, except the Son, and he (to) whom the Son pleaseth to reveal (him).
Come unto me, all you (who) are wearied and bearing burdens, and I will give you rest.
29 ⲕ̅ⲑ̅ ⳿ⲁⲗⲓⲟⲩ⳿ⲓ ⳿ⲙⲡⲁⲛⲁϩⲃⲉϥ ⳿ⲉϫⲉⲛ ⲑⲏⲛⲟⲩ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⳿ⲁⲣⲓ⳿ⲉⲙⲓ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⳿ⲙⲙⲟⲓ ϫⲉ ⳿ⲁⲛⲟⲕ ⲟⲩⲣⲉⲙⲣⲁⲩϣ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ϯⲑⲉⲃⲓⲏⲟⲩⲧ ϧⲉⲛ ⲡⲁϩⲏⲧ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⳿ⲉⲣⲉⲧⲉⲛ⳿ⲉϫⲓⲙⲓ ⳿ⲛⲟⲩⲙⲁⲛⲉⲙⲧⲟⲛ ⳿ⲛⲛⲉⲧⲉⲛⲯⲩⲭⲏ.
Bear my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am peaceful and lowly in my heart, and you shall find repose for your souls.
For my yoke is kindly, and my burden is light.
