1 ⲁ̅ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲁϥⲉⲣϩⲏⲧⲥ ⳿ⲛⲥⲁϫⲓ ⲛⲉⲙⲱⲟⲩ ϧⲉⲛ ϩⲁⲛⲡⲁⲣⲁⲃⲟⲗⲏ ⲛⲉ ⲟⲩⲟⲛ ⲟⲩⲣⲱⲙⲓ ⲁϥϭⲟ ⳿ⲛⲟⲩⲓⲁϩ⳿ⲁⲗⲟⲗⲓ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲁϥⲕⲱⲧ ⳿ⲛⲟⲩϫⲟⲓ ⳿ⲉⲣⲟϥ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲁϥϣⲱⲕ ⳿ⲛⲟⲩ⳿ϩⲣⲱⲧ ⳿ⲛϧⲏⲧϥ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲁϥⲕⲱⲧ ⳿ⲛⲟⲩⲡⲩⲣⲅⲟⲥ ⳿ⲛϧⲏⲧϥ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲁϥⲧⲏⲓϥ ⳿ⲉⲧⲟⲧⲟⲩ ⳿ⲛϩⲁⲛⲟⲩⲓⲏ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲁϥϣⲉⲛⲁϥ ⳿ⲉ⳿ⲡϣⲉⲙⲙⲟ.
And He began to speak unto them in parables. A certain man planted a vineyard, and made a fence about it, and digged a place for the wine-fat, and built a tower, and let it out to husbandmen, and travelled abroad.
2 ⲃ̅ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲁϥⲟⲩⲱⲣⲡ ϩⲁ ⲛⲓⲟⲩⲓⲏ ϧⲉⲛ ⳿ⲡⲥⲏⲟⲩ ⳿ⲛⲟⲩⲃⲱⲕ ϩⲓⲛⲁ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉϥϭⲓ ⳿ⲛⲧⲟⲧⲟⲩ ⳿ⲛⲛⲓⲟⲩⲓⲏ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗϧⲉⲛ ⳿ⲡⲟⲩⲧⲁϩ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ ⲡⲓⲓⲁϩ⳿ⲁⲗⲟⲗⲓ.
And at the season he sent a servant to the husbandmen, that he might receive from them of the fruit of the vineyard:
and they took him and beat him, and sent him away empty.
And again he sent unto them another servant; and at him they threw stones, and wounded him on the head, and sent him away shamefully used.
5 ⲉ̅ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲁϥⲟⲩⲱⲣⲡ ⳿ⲛⲕⲉⲟⲩⲁⲓ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲡⲓⲭⲉⲧ ⲁⲩϧⲟⲑⲃⲉϥ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲁϥⲟⲩⲱⲣⲡ ⳿ⲛϩⲁⲛⲕⲉⲙⲏϣ ϩⲁⲛⲟⲩⲟⲛ ⲁⲩϩⲓ⳿ⲱⲛⲓ ⳿ⲉⲣⲱⲟⲩ ϩⲁⲛⲕⲉⲭⲱⲟⲩⲛⲓ ⲇⲉ ⲁⲩϧⲱⲧⲉⲃ ⳿ⲙⲙⲱⲟⲩ.
And again, he sent another; and him they killed: and many others, beating some, and killing others.
6 ⲋ̅ ⲉⲧⲓ ⲟⲩϣⲏⲣⲓ ⳿ⲙⲙⲉⲛⲣⲓⲧ ⳿ⲉⲛⲁϥ⳿ⲛⲧⲁϥ ⲁϥⲟⲩⲟⲣⲡϥ ⳿ⲉ⳿ⲡϧⲁ⳿ⲉ ϩⲁⲣⲱⲟⲩ ⲉϥϫⲱ ⳿ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ϫⲉ ⲥⲉⲛⲁ⳿ϣⲫⲓⲧ ϧⲁ⳿ⲧϩⲏ ⳿ⲙⲡⲁϣⲏⲣⲓ.
Having yet therefore one Son, his beloved, he sent him also at last unto them, saying, they will reverence my Son.
7 ⲍ̅ ⲛⲓⲟⲩⲓⲏ ⲇⲉ ⳿ⲉⲧⲉ⳿ⲙⲙⲁⲩ ⲛⲁⲩϫⲱ ⳿ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ⳿ⲛⲛⲟⲩ⳿ⲉⲣⲏⲟⲩ ϫⲉ ⲫⲁⲓ ⲡⲉ ⲡⲓ⳿ⲕⲗⲏⲣⲟⲛⲟⲙⲟⲥ ⳿ⲁⲙⲱⲓⲛⲓ ⲙⲁⲣⲉⲛϧⲟⲑⲃⲉϥ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ ϯ⳿ⲕⲗⲏⲣⲟⲛⲟⲙⲓ⳿ⲁ ⲉⲣⲑⲱⲛ.
But the husbandmen said to one another, this is the heir, Come, let us kill him, and the inheritance will be ours.
And they took him, and killed Him too, casting him out of the vineyard.
9 ⲑ̅ ⲟⲩ ⲡⲉ ⳿ⲉⲧⲉϥⲛⲁⲁⲓϥ ⳿ⲛϫⲉ Ⲡ⳪ ⳿ⲙⲡⲓⲓⲁϩ⳿ⲁⲗⲟⲗⲓ ⳿ϥⲛⲁ⳿ⲓ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⳿ϥⲛⲁⲧⲁⲕⲟ ⳿ⲛⲛⲓⲟⲩⲓⲏ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉϥϯ ⳿ⲙⲡⲓⲓⲁϩ⳿ⲁⲗⲟⲗⲓ ⳿ⲛϩⲁⲛⲕⲉⲭⲱⲟⲩⲛⲓ.
What therefore will the lord of the vineyard do? He will come and destroy those husbandmen, and will let the vineyard to others.
And have ye not read this scripture, "The stone, which the builders refused, is become the head of the corner:
this was from the Lord, and it is marvellous in our eyes."
12 ⲓ̅ⲃ̅ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲛⲁⲩⲕⲱϯ ⳿ⲛⲥⲁ ⳿ⲁⲙⲟⲛⲓ ⳿ⲙⲙⲟϥ ⲡⲉ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲁⲩⲉⲣϩⲟϯ ϧⲁ⳿ⲧϩⲏ ⳿ⲙⲡⲓⲙⲏϣ ⲁⲩ⳿ⲉⲙⲓ ⲅⲁⲣ ϫⲉ ⳿ⲉⲧⲁϥϫⲉ ⲧⲁⲓⲡⲁⲣⲁⲃⲟⲗⲏ ⲉⲑⲃⲏⲧⲟⲩ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⳿ⲉⲧⲁⲩⲭⲁϥ ⲁⲩϣⲉⲛⲱⲟⲩ.
And they sought to lay hands on Him, but they were afraid of the people; (for they knew that He spake the parable against them) and they left Him, and went away.
And they send to Him some of the pharisees, and of the Herodians to insnare Him in his discourse:
14 ⲓ̅ⲇ̅
and these, when they came, said to Him, Master, we know that thou art a man of truth, and carest for no man; for thou regardest not the person of men, but teachest the way of God in truth: Is it lawful to pay tribute to Cesar, or not? should we give, or should we not give?
15 ⲓ̅ⲉ̅ ⳿ⲛⲑⲟϥ ⲇⲉ ⲉϥⲥⲱⲟⲩⲛ ⳿ⲛⲧⲟⲩⲙⲉⲧϣⲟⲃⲓ ⲡⲉϫⲁϥ ⲛⲱⲟⲩ ϫⲉ ⲉⲑⲃⲉ ⲟⲩ ⲧⲉⲧⲉⲛϭⲱⲛⲧ ⳿ⲙⲙⲟⲓ ⳿ⲁⲛⲓⲟⲩ⳿ⲓ ⲛⲏⲓ ⳿ⲛⲟⲩⲥⲁⲑⲉⲣⲓ ϩⲓⲛⲁ ⳿ⲛⲧⲁⲛⲁⲩ ⳿ⲉⲣⲟⲥ.
But He knew their hypocrisy, and said to them, Why do ye tempt me? bring me a penny, that I may see it.
16 ⲓ̅ⲋ̅ ⳿ⲛⲑⲱⲟⲩ ⲇⲉ ⲁⲩ⳿ⲓⲛⲓ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲡⲉϫⲁϥ ⲛⲱⲟⲩ ϫⲉ ⲑⲁ ⲛⲓⲙ ⲧⲉ ⲧⲁⲓϩⲓⲕⲱⲛ ⲛⲉⲙ ⲧⲁⲓ⳿ⲉⲡⲓⲅⲣⲁⲫⲏ⳿ⲛⲑⲱⲟⲩ ⲇⲉ ⲡⲉϫⲱⲟⲩ ⲛⲁϥ ϫⲉ ⲛⲁ ⳿ⲡⲟⲩⲣⲟ ⲛⲉ.
So they brought one: and He saith to them, Whose is this image and inscription? And they said Cesar's.
17 ⲓ̅ⲍ̅ ⳿ⲛⲑⲟϥ ⲇⲉ ⲡⲉϫⲁϥ ⲛⲱⲟⲩ ϫⲉ ⲛⲁ ⳿ⲡⲟⲩⲣⲟ ⲙⲏⲓⲧⲟⲩ ⳿ⲙ⳿ⲡⲟⲩⲣⲟ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲛⲁ Ⲫϯ ⲙⲏⲓⲧⲟⲩ ⳿ⲙⲪϯ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲛⲁⲩⲉⲣ⳿ϣⲫⲏⲣⲓ ⳿ⲉϫⲱϥ ⲡⲉ.
And Jesus answered and said unto them, Render then unto Cesar the things that are Cesar's, and to God the things that are God's. And they marvelled at Him.
18 ⲓ̅ⲏ̅ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲁⲩ⳿ⲓ ϩⲁⲣⲟϥ ⳿ⲛϫⲉ ϩⲁⲛⲤⲁⲇⲇⲟⲩⲕⲉⲟⲥ ⲛⲏⲉⲧϫⲱ ⳿ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ϫⲉ ⳿ⲙⲙⲟⲛ ⳿⳿ⲁⲛⲁⲥⲧⲁⲥⲓⲥ ϣⲟⲡ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲛⲁⲩϣⲓⲛⲓ ⳿ⲙⲙⲟϥ ⲡⲉ ⲉⲩϫⲱ ⳿ⲙⲙⲟⲥ.
Then come the sadducees to Him, who say there is no resurrection;
19 ⲓ̅ⲑ̅ ϫⲉ ⳿ⲫⲣⲉϥϯ⳿ⲥⲃⲱ Ⲙⲱ⳿ⲩⲥⲏⲥ ⲁϥ⳿ⲥϧⲁⲓ ⲛⲁⲛ ϫⲉ ⳿ⲉϣⲱⲡ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ ⳿ⲡⲥⲟⲛ ⳿ⲛⲟⲩⲁⲓ ⲙⲟⲩ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉϥⲥⲉϫⲡ ⲟⲩ⳿ⲥϩⲓⲙⲓ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉϥ⳿ϣⲧⲉⲙⲭⲁ ϣⲏⲣⲓ ϩⲓⲛⲁ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ ⲡⲉϥⲥⲟⲛ ϭⲓ ⳿ⲛϯ⳿ⲥϩⲓⲙⲓ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉϥⲧⲟⲩⲛⲟⲥ ⲟⲩ⳿ϫⲣⲟϫ ⳿ⲙⲡⲉϥⲥⲟⲛ.
and they asked Him, saying, Master, Moses, in his writings tells us, if any one's brother die, and leave a wife, and leave no children, that his brother shall take his wife, and raise up seed to his brother.
Now there were seven brethren: and the first took a wife and died and left no seed;
and the second took her, and died, and he left no seed neither; and the third likewise.
And all the seven had her, and left no seed: last of all died the woman also.
In the resurrection therefore, when they rise again, whose wife shall be of them; for all the seven had her to wife?
24 ⲕ̅ⲇ̅ ⲡⲉϫⲁϥ ⲛⲱⲟⲩ ⳿ⲛϫⲉ Ⲓⲏ̅ⲥ̅ ϫⲉ ⲙⲏ ⲉⲑⲃⲉ ⲫⲁⲓ ⲁⲛ ⲧⲉⲧⲉⲛⲥⲟⲣⲉⲙ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉⲧⲉⲛⲥⲱⲟⲩⲛ ⲁⲛ ⳿ⲛϯ⳿ⲅⲣⲁⲫⲏ ⲟⲩⲇⲉ ϯϫⲟⲙ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ ⲫϯ.
And Jesus answering said unto them, Do ye not therefore err, because ye know not the scriptures, nor the power of God?
25 ⲕ̅ⲉ̅ ϩⲟⲧⲁⲛ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲁⲩϣⲁⲛⲧⲱⲟⲩⲛⲟⲩ ϧⲉⲛ ⲛⲏⲉⲑⲙⲱⲟⲩⲧ ⲟⲩⲇⲉ ⳿ⲙⲡⲁⲩϭⲓ ⲟⲩⲇⲉ ⳿ⲙⲡⲁⲩϭ ⲓⲧⲟⲩ ⲁⲗⲗⲁ ⲁⲩ⳿ⲙ⳿ⲫⲣⲏϯ ⳿ⲛⲛⲓⲁⲅⲅⲉⲗⲟⲥ ϧⲉⲛ ⲛⲓⲫⲏⲟⲩ⳿ⲓ.
For when they shall rise from the dead, they neither marry nor are given in marriage, but are as the angels in heaven.
26 ⲕ̅ⲋ̅ ⲉⲑⲃⲉ ⲛⲏⲉⲑⲙⲱⲟⲩⲧ ⲇⲉ ϫⲉ ⲥⲉⲛⲁⲧⲱⲟⲩⲛⲟⲩ ⳿ⲙⲡⲉⲧⲉⲛⲱϣ ϩⲓ ⳿ⲡϫⲱⲙ ⳿ⲙⲘⲱ⳿ⲩⲥⲏⲥ ⲡⲱⲥ ⲁϥϫⲟⲥ ⲛⲁϥ ϩⲓϫⲉⲛ ⲡⲓⲃⲁⲧⲟⲥ ⲉϥϫⲱ ⳿ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ϫⲉ ⳿ⲁⲛⲟⲕ ⲡⲉ Ⲫϯ ⳿ⲛⲀⲃⲣⲁⲁⲙ ⲛⲉⲙ Ⲫϯ ⳿ⲛ⳿ Ⲓⲥⲁⲁⲕ ⲛⲉⲙ Ⲫϯ ⳿ⲛⲒⲁⲕⲱⲃ.
But as to the dead, that they are raised, have ye not read in the book of Moses, how God spake to him in the bush, saying, I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob?
He is not the God of the dead, but of the living: therefore ye do greatly mistake.
28 ⲕ̅ⲏ̅ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲁϥ⳿ⲓ ϩⲁⲣⲟϥ ⳿ⲛϫⲉ ⲟⲩⲁⲓ ⳿ⲛⲛⲓⲥⲁϧ⳿ⲉⲧⲁϥⲥⲱⲧⲉⲙ ⳿ⲉⲣⲱⲟⲩ ⲉⲩⲕⲱϯ ⲉϥ⳿ⲉⲙⲓ ϫⲉ ⲕⲁⲗⲱⲥ ⲁϥ⳿ⲉⲣⲟⲩ⳿ⲱ ⲛⲱⲟⲩ ⲁϥϣⲉⲛϥ ϫⲉ ⲁϣ ⲧⲉ ϯⲉⲛⲧⲟⲗⲏ ⲉⲧⲟⲓ ⳿ⲛϣⲟⲣⲡ ⳿ⲉⲣⲱⲟⲩ ⲧⲏⲣⲟⲩ.
And one of the scribes, who heard them disputing, seeing that He answered them well, came to Him and asked Him, Which is the chief commandment of all?
And Jesus answered him, The first of all the commandments is, "Hear, O Israel, the Lord our God is the one Lord,
30 ⲗ̅ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲉⲕ⳿ⲉⲙⲉⲛⲣⲉ Ⲡ⳪ ⲡⲉⲕⲛⲟⲩϯ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗϧⲉⲛ ⲡⲉⲕϩⲏⲧ ⲧⲏⲣϥ ⲛⲉⲙ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗϧⲉⲛ ⲧⲉⲕⲯⲩⲭⲏ ⲧⲏⲣⲥ ⲛⲉⲙ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗϧⲉⲛ ⲛⲉⲕⲙⲉⲩⲓ ⲧⲏⲣⲟⲩ ⲛⲉⲙ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗϧⲉⲛ ⲧⲉⲕϫⲟⲙ ⲧⲏⲣⲥ.
and thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength:" this is the first or chief commandment,
and the second is like it, even this, "Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself:" there is no other commandment greater than these.
32 ⲗ̅ⲃ̅ ⲡⲉϫⲁϥ ⲛⲁϥ ⳿ⲛϫⲉ ⲡⲓⲥⲁϧ ϫⲉ ⲕⲁⲗⲱⲥ ⲡⲓⲣⲉϥϯ⳿ⲥⲃⲱ ϧⲉⲛ ⲟⲩⲙⲉⲑⲙⲏⲓ ⲁⲕϫⲟⲥ ϫⲉ ⲟⲩⲁⲓ ⲡⲉ Ⲫϯ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⳿ⲙⲙⲟⲛ ⲕⲉⲟⲩⲁⲓ ⳿ⲉⲃⲏⲗ ⳿ⲉⲣⲟϥ.
And the scribe said unto Him, Truly, Master, thou hast spoke exceeding well; for there is one God, and there is no other beside Him.
33 ⲗ̅ⲅ̅ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲡⲓⲙⲉⲛⲣⲓⲧϥ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗϧⲉⲛ ⲡⲉⲕϩⲏⲧ ⲧⲏⲣϥ ⲛⲉⲙ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗϧⲉⲛ ⲧⲉⲕϫⲟⲙ ⲧⲏⲣⲥ ⲛⲉⲙ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗϧⲉⲛ ⲡⲓⲕⲁϯ ⲧⲏⲣϥ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲡⲓⲙⲉⲛⲣⲉ ⲡⲉⲕ⳿ϣⲫⲏⲣ ⳿ⲙⲡⲉⲕⲣⲏϯ ⲥⲉⲟⲓ ⳿ⲛⲛⲓϣϯ ⳿ⲉⲛⲓϭⲗⲓⲗ ⲧⲏⲣⲟⲩ ⲛⲉⲙ ⲛⲓϣⲟⲩϣⲱⲟⲩϣⲓ.
And to love him with all the heart, and with all the understanding, and with all the soul, and with all the strength, and to love his neighbour as himself, is more than all whole-burnt-offerings and sacrifices.
34 ⲗ̅ⲇ̅ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⳿ⲉⲧⲁϥⲛⲁⲩ ⳿ⲉⲣⲟϥ ⳿ⲛϫⲉ Ⲓⲏ̅ⲥ̅ ϫⲉ ⲁϥ⳿ⲉⲣⲟⲩ⳿ⲱ ⳿ⲉⲟⲩⲟⲛ ϩⲏⲧ ⳿ⲙⲙⲟϥ ⲡⲉϫⲁϥ ⲛⲁϥ ϫⲉ ⳿ⲭⲟⲩ⳿ⲏⲟⲩ ⲁⲛ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗϩⲁ ϯⲙⲉⲧⲟⲩⲣⲟ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ Ⲫϯ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⳿ⲙⲡⲉ ⳿ϩⲗⲓ ⳿ϣⲉⲣⲧⲟⲗⲙⲁⲛ ⳿ⲉϣⲉⲛϥ.
And Jesus seeing that he answered discreetly, said to him, Thou art not far from the kingdom of God. And no one dared any more to put questions to Him.
35 ⲗ̅ⲉ̅ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⳿ⲉⲧⲁϥ⳿ⲉⲣⲟⲩ⳿ⲱ ⳿ⲛϫⲉ Ⲓⲏ̅ⲥ̅ ⲛⲁϥϫⲱ ⳿ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ⲉϥϯ⳿ⲥⲃⲱ ϧⲉⲛ ⲡⲓⲉⲣⲫⲉⲓ ⲡⲱⲥ ⲥⲉϫⲱ ⳿ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ⳿ⲛϫⲉ ⲛⲓⲥⲁϧ ϫⲉ Ⲡⲭ̅ⲥ̅ ⳿ⲡϣⲏⲣⲓ ⲛⲆⲁⲩⲓⲇ ⲡⲉ.
And Jesus spake and said, as He was teaching in the temple, How do the scribes say, that the Christ is the son of David?
36 ⲗ̅ⲋ̅ ⳿ⲛⲑⲟϥ Ⲇⲁⲩⲓⲇ ⲁϥϫⲟⲥ ϧⲉⲛ ⲡⲠⲓⲡ͞ⲛⲁ̅ ⲉⲑⲟⲩⲁⲃ ϫⲉ ⲡⲉϫⲉ Ⲡ⳪ ⳿ⲙⲠⲁ⳪ ϫⲉ ϩⲉⲙⲥⲓ ⲥⲁⲧⲁⲟⲩⲓⲛⲁⲙ ϣⲁϯⲭⲁ ⲛⲉⲕϫⲁϫⲓ ⲥⲁⲡⲉⲥⲏⲧ ⳿ⲛⲛⲉⲕϭⲁⲗⲁⲩϫ.
for David himself said by the holy Spirit, The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit thou at my right hand till I make thine enemies thy footstool.
37 ⲗ̅ⲍ̅ ⳿ⲛⲑⲟϥ Ⲇⲁⲩⲓⲇ ⲉϥϫⲱ ⳿ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ⳿ⲉⲣⲟϥ ϫⲉ Ⲡ⳪ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲑⲱⲛ ⲡⲉϥϣⲏⲣⲓ ⲡⲉ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲡⲓⲙⲏϣ ⲉⲧⲟϣ ⲛⲁϥⲥⲱⲧⲉⲙ ⳿ⲉⲣⲟϥ ϩⲏⲇⲉⲱⲥ.
So that David himself calleth Him Lord: how then is He his son? And many of the people heard Him with pleasure.
38 ⲗ̅ⲏ̅ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ϧⲉⲛ ⲧⲉϥ⳿ⲥⲃⲱ ⲛⲁϥϫⲱ ⳿ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ϫⲉ ⳿ⲁⲛⲁⲩ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗϩⲁ ⲛⲓⲥⲁϧ ⲛⲉⲙ ⲛⲏⲉⲑⲟⲩⲱϣ ⳿ⲉⲙⲟϣⲓ ϧⲉⲛ ϩⲁⲛ⳿ⲥⲧⲟⲗⲏⲛⲉⲙ ⲁⲛⲁⲥⲡⲁⲥⲙⲟⲥϧⲉⲛ ⲛⲓⲁⲅⲟⲣⲁ.
And He said unto them as He was teaching them, Beware of the scribes, who love to walk in long robes, and salutations in public-places,
and the chief seats in the synagogues, and uppermost places at feasts;
40 ⲙ̅ ⲛⲏⲉⲑⲟⲩⲱⲙ ⳿ⲛⲛⲓⲏⲓ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ ⲛⲓⲭⲏⲣⲁ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ϧⲉⲛ ⲟⲩⲗⲱⲓϫⲓ ⲉⲥⲟⲩ⳿ⲏⲟⲩ ⲥⲉⲉⲣ⳿ⲡⲣⲟⲥⲉⲩⲭ ⲉⲥⲑⲉ ⲛⲁⲓ ⲉⲑⲛⲁϭⲓ ⳿ⲛⲟⲩϩⲟⲩ⳿ⲟ ϩⲁⲡ.
who devour widows houses, and for a shew of religion make long prayers: these shall receive the heavier judgement.
41 ⲙ̅ⲁ̅ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⳿ⲉⲧⲁϥϩⲉⲙⲥⲓ ⳿ⲙⲡⲉ⳿ⲙⲑⲟ ⳿ⲙⲡⲓⲅⲁⲍⲟⲫⲩⲗⲁⲕⲓⲟⲛ ⲛⲁϥⲛⲁⲩ ϫⲉ ⲡⲱⲥ ⲛⲓⲙⲏϣ ϩⲓ ϩⲟⲙⲧ ⳿ⲉⲡⲓⲅⲁⲍⲟⲫⲩⲗⲁⲕⲓⲟⲛ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲟⲩⲙⲏϣ ⳿ⲛⲣⲁⲙⲁ⳿ⲟ ⲛⲁⲩϩⲓⲟⲩ⳿ⲓ ⳿ⲛϩⲁⲛⲙⲏϣ.
And as Jesus was sitting over against the treasury, He saw how the people threw money into the treasury, and many of the rich put in much;
and there came a poor widow and put in two mites, that is, a farthing.
43 ⲙ̅ⲅ̅ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⳿ⲉⲧⲁϥⲙⲟⲩϯ ⳿⳿ⲉⲛⲉϥⲙⲁⲑⲏⲧⲏⲥ ⲡⲉϫⲁϥ ⲛⲱⲟⲩ ϫⲉ ⳿ⲁⲙⲏⲛ ϯϫⲱ ⳿ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ⲛⲱⲧⲉⲛ ϫⲉ ⲧⲁⲓⲭⲏⲣⲁ ⳿ⲛϩⲏⲕⲓ ⲁⲥϩⲓⲟⲩ⳿ⲓ ⳿ⲉϩⲟⲧⲉ ⲛⲁⲓ ⲧⲏⲣⲟⲩ ⲉⲧϩⲓⲟⲩ⳿ⲓ ⳿ⲉⲡⲓⲅⲁⲍⲟⲫⲩⲗⲁⲕⲓⲟⲛ.
And He called his disciples to Him, and saith unto them, Verily I tell you, that this poor widow has given more than all those who have cast into the treasury.
44 ⲙ̅ⲇ̅ ⲟⲩⲟⲛ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲛⲓⲃⲉⲛ ⳿ⲉⲧⲁⲩϩⲓⲟⲩ⳿ⲓ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗϧⲉⲛ ⲡⲉⲧⲉⲣϩⲟⲩ⳿ⲟ ⳿ⲉⲣⲱⲟⲩ ⲑⲁⲓ ⲇⲉ ⳿ⲛⲑⲟⲥ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗϧⲉⲛ ⲡⲉⲧⲉⲥⲉⲣϧⲁ⳿ⲉ ⳿ⲙⲙⲟϥ ϩⲱⲃ ⲛⲓⲃⲉⲛ ⳿ⲉⲧⲉ⳿ⲛⲧⲁⲥ ⲁⲥϩⲓⲧⲟⲩ ⲡⲉⲥⲱⲛϧ ⲧⲏⲣϥ.
For they all have contributed out of their abundance: but she out of her penury hath given all that she had, even her whole living.
