1 ⲁ̅ ϯϫⲱ ⳿ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ϫⲉ ⳿ⲉⲫⲟⲥⲟⲛ ⳿ⲭⲣⲟⲛⲟⲛ ⳿ⲉⲡⲓ⳿ⲕⲗⲏ ⲣⲟⲛⲟⲙⲟⲥ ⲟⲩⲕⲟⲩϫⲓ ⳿ⲛ⳿ⲁⲗⲟⲩ ⲡⲉ ⳿ⲙⲙⲟⲛ ⳿ϩⲗⲓ ⳿ⲛϣⲓⲃϯ ⳿ⲙⲙⲟϥ ⲛⲉⲙ ⲟⲩⲃⲱⲕ ⲉϥⲟⲓ ⳿ⲙ⳪ ⳿ⲉⲉⲛⲭⲁⲓ ⲛⲓⲃⲉⲛ.
But I say that so long as the heir is a child, he differeth nothing from a bondservant, though he is lord of all;
2 ⲃ̅ ⲁⲗⲗⲁ ⲁϥⲭⲏ ϧⲁ ϩⲁⲛⲉⲡⲓ⳿ⲧⲣⲟⲡⲟⲥ ⲛⲉⲙ ϩⲁⲛⲟⲓⲕⲟⲛⲟⲙⲟⲥ ϣⲁ ϯⲛⲉⲓ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ ⲡⲉϥⲓⲱⲧ.
but is under guardians and stewards until the term appointed of the father.
3 ⲅ̅ ⲡⲁⲓⲣⲏϯ ⳿ⲁⲛⲟⲛ ϩⲱⲛ ϩⲟⲧⲉ ⲉⲛⲟⲓ ⳿ⲛ⳿ⲁⲗⲟⲩ ⲛⲁⲛⲭⲏ ϧⲁ ⲛⲓ⳿ⲥⲧⲟⲓⲭⲓⲟⲛ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ ⲡⲓⲕⲟⲥⲙⲟⲥ ⲉⲛⲟⲓ ⳿ⲙⲃⲱⲕ ⲛⲱⲟⲩ.
So we also, when we were children, were held in bondage under the rudiments of the world:
4 ⲇ̅ ϩⲟⲧⲉ ⲇⲉ ⲉⲧⲁϥ⳿ⲓ ⳿ⲛϫⲉ ⳿ⲫⲙⲟϩ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ ⲡⲓⲥⲏⲟⲩ ⲁ ⲫϯ ⲟⲩⲱⲣⲡ ⳿ⲙⲡⲉϥϣⲏⲣⲓ ⳿ⲉⲁϥϣⲱⲡⲓ ϧⲁ ⲟⲩ⳿ⲥϩⲓⲙⲓ ⳿ⲉⲁϥϣⲱⲡⲓ ϧⲁ ⲡⲓⲛⲟⲙⲟⲥ.
but when the fulness of the time came, God sent forth his Son, born of a woman, born under the law,
5 ⲉ̅ ϩⲓⲛⲁ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉϥϣⲏⲡ ⲛⲏⲉⲧϧⲁ ⲡⲓⲛⲟⲙⲟⲥ ϩⲓⲛⲁ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉⲛϭⲓ ⳿ⲛϯⲙⲉⲧϣⲏⲣⲓ.
that he might redeem them which were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons.
6 ⲋ̅ ⲟⲧⲓ ⲇⲉ ϫⲉ ⳿ⲛⲑⲱⲧⲉⲛ ϩⲁⲛϣⲏⲣⲓ ⲁ ⲫϯ ⲧⲁⲟⲩⲟ ⳿ⲙⲡⲓⲡ͞ⲛⲁ̅ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ ⲡⲉϥϣⲏⲣⲓ ⳿ⲉ⳿ϧⲣⲏⲓ ⳿ⲉⲛⲉⲧⲉⲛϩⲏ ⲧ ⲉϥⲱϣ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϫⲉ ⲁⲃⲃⲁ ⳿ⲫⲓⲱⲧ.
And because ye are sons, God sent forth the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, crying, Abba, Father.
7 ⲍ̅ ϩⲱⲥⲧⲉ ⳿ⲛⲑⲟⲕ ⲟⲩⲃⲱⲕ ⲁⲛ ϫⲉ ⲁⲗⲗⲁ ⲟⲩϣⲏⲣⲓ ⲓⲥϫⲉ ⲇⲉ ⲟⲩϣⲏⲣⲓ ⲓⲉ ⲟⲩ⳿ⲕⲗⲏⲣⲟⲛⲟⲙⲟⲥ ⲟⲛ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲓⲧⲉⲛ ⲫϯ.
So that thou art no longer a bondservant, but a son; and if a son, then an heir through God.
8 ⲏ̅ ⲁⲗⲗⲁ ⳿ⲙⲡⲓⲥⲏⲟⲩ ⲙⲉⲛ ⳿ⲉⲧⲉ⳿ⲙⲙⲁⲩ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉⲧⲉⲛⲥⲱⲟⲩⲛ ⳿ⲙⲫϯ ⲁⲛ ⲁⲧⲉⲧⲉⲛⲉⲣⲃⲱⲕ ⳿ⲛⲛⲏ ⲫⲩⲥⲓ ⲉⲧⲉ ϩⲁⲛⲛⲟⲩϯ ⲁⲛ ⲛⲉ.
Howbeit at that time, not knowing God, ye were in bondage to them which by nature are no gods:
9 ⲑ̅ ϯⲛⲟⲩ ⲇⲉ ⲁⲧⲉⲧⲉⲛⲥⲟⲩⲉⲛ ⲫϯ ⲙⲁⲗⲗⲟⲛ ⲇⲉ ⲁ ⲫϯ ⲥⲟⲩⲉⲛ ⲑⲏⲛⲟⲩ ⲡⲱⲥ ⲧⲉⲧⲉⲛⲕⲱϯ ⳿ⲙⲙⲱⲧⲉⲛ ⲟⲛ ⳿ⲉ⳿ϧⲣⲏⲓ ⳿ⲉⲛⲓϫⲱⲃ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⳿ⲛϩⲏ ⲕⲓ ⳿ⲛ⳿ⲥⲧⲟⲓⲭⲓⲟⲛ ⲛⲏⲉⲧⲉⲧⲉⲛⲟⲩⲱϣ ⳿ⲉⲉⲣⲃⲱⲕ ⲛⲱⲟⲩ ⳿ⲛⲕⲉⲥⲟⲡ.
but now that ye have come to know God, or rather to be known of God, how turn ye back again to the weak and beggarly rudiments, whereunto ye desire to be in bondage over again?
10 ⲓ̅ ⳿ⲉⲁⲧⲉⲧⲉⲛϯ⳿ϩⲑⲏⲧⲉⲛ ⳿ⲉϩⲁⲛ⳿ⲉϩⲟⲟⲩ ⲛⲉⲙ ϩⲁⲛⲁⲃⲏⲧ ⲛⲉⲙ ϩⲁⲛⲥⲏⲟⲩ ⲛⲉⲙ ϩⲁⲛⲣⲟⲙⲡⲓ.
Ye observe days, and months, and seasons, and years.
11 ⲓ̅ⲁ̅ ϯⲉⲣϩⲟϯ ϧⲁⲧⲉⲧⲉⲛϩⲏ ⲙⲏⲡⲱⲥ ⲉⲧⲁⲓ ϭⲓϧⲓⲥⲓ ⳿ⲉⲣⲱⲧⲉⲛ ϩⲓⲕⲏ.
I am afraid of you, lest by any means I have bestowed labour upon you in vain.
12 ⲓ̅ⲃ̅ ϣⲱⲡⲓ ⳿ⲙⲡⲁⲣⲏϯ ϫⲉ ⳿ⲁⲛⲟⲕ ϩⲱ ⳿ⲙⲡⲉⲧⲉⲛⲣⲏϯ ⲛⲁ⳿ⲥⲛⲏⲟⲩ ϯϯϩⲟ ⳿ⲉⲣⲱⲧⲉⲛ ⳿ⲙⲡⲉⲧⲉⲛϭ ⲓⲧ ⳿ⲛϫⲟⲛⲥ ⳿ⲛ⳿ϩⲗⲓ.
I beseech you, brethren, be as I [am], for I [am] as ye [are]. Ye did me no wrong:
13 ⲓ̅ⲅ̅ ⲧⲉⲧⲉⲛ⳿ⲉⲙⲓ ⲇⲉ ϫⲉ ⲉⲑⲃⲉ ⲟⲩϣⲱⲛⲓ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ ϯⲥⲁⲣⲝ ⲁⲓϩⲓϣⲉⲛⲛⲟⲩϥⲓ ⲛⲱⲧⲉⲛ ⳿ⲛϣⲟⲣⲡ.
but ye know that because of an infirmity of the flesh I preached the gospel unto you the first time:
14 ⲓ̅ⲇ̅ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲡⲉⲧⲉⲛⲡⲓⲣⲁⲥⲙⲟⲥ ⲉⲧⲭⲏ ϧⲉⲛ ⲧⲁⲥⲁⲣⲝ ⳿ⲙⲡⲉⲧⲉⲛϣⲟϣϥ ⲟⲩⲇⲉ ⳿ⲙⲡⲉⲧⲉⲛϩⲓⲑⲁϥ ⳿ⲛⲥⲱϥ ⲁⲗⲗⲁ ⲁⲣⲉⲧⲉⲛϣⲟⲡϥ ⳿ⲉⲣⲱⲧⲉⲛ ⳿ⲙ⳿ⲫⲣⲏϯ ⳿ⲛⲟⲩⲁⲅⲅⲉⲗⲟⲥ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ ⲫϯ ⳿ⲙ⳿ⲫⲣⲏϯ ⳿ⲙⲠⲭ̅ⲥ̅ Ⲓⲏ̅ⲥ̅.
and that which was a temptation to you in my flesh ye despised not, nor rejected; but ye received me as an angel of God, [even] as Christ Jesus.
15 ⲓ̅ⲉ̅ ⲁϥⲑⲱⲛ ⲟⲩⲛ ⲡⲉⲧⲉⲛⲙⲁⲕⲁⲣⲓⲥⲙⲟⲥ ϯⲉⲣ ⲙⲉⲑⲣⲉ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲛⲱⲧⲉⲛ ϫⲉ ⲉⲛⲉ ⲟⲩⲟⲛ⳿ϣϫⲟⲙ ⳿ⲙⲙⲱⲧⲉⲛ ⳿ⲉⲫⲉⲣⲕ ⲛⲉⲧⲉⲛⲃⲁⲗ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲛⲁⲣⲉⲧⲉⲛⲛⲁⲧⲏⲓⲧⲟⲩ ⲛⲏⲓ ⲡⲉ.
Where then is that gratulation of yourselves? for I bear you witness, that, if possible, ye would have plucked out your eyes and given them to me.
16 ⲓ̅ⲋ̅ ϩⲱⲥⲧⲉ ⲁⲓⲉⲣϫⲁϫⲓ ⳿ⲉⲣⲱⲧⲉⲛ ϫⲉ ϯ ⲧⲁⲙⲟ ⳿ⲙⲙⲱⲧⲉⲛ ⲉⲑⲙⲏⲓ.
So then am I become your enemy, because I tell you the truth?
17 ⲓ̅ⲍ̅ ⲥⲉⲭⲟϩ ⳿ⲉⲣⲱⲧⲉⲛ ⳿ⲛⲕⲁⲗⲱⲥ ⲁⲛ ⲁⲗⲗⲁ ⲉⲩⲟⲩⲱϣ ⳿ⲉ⳿ϣⲑⲁⲙ ⳿ⲉⲣⲱⲧⲉⲛ ϩⲓⲛⲁ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉⲧⲉⲛⲭⲟϩ ⳿ⲉⲣⲱⲟⲩ.
They zealously seek you in no good way; nay, they desire to shut you out, that ye may seek them.
18 ⲓ̅ⲏ̅ ⲛⲁⲛⲉⲥ ⲇⲉ ⳿ⲉⲭⲟϩ ϧⲉⲛ ⲡⲓⲡⲉⲑⲛⲁⲛⲉϥ ⳿ⲛⲥⲏⲟⲩ ⲛⲓⲃⲉⲛ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲉⲓⲭⲏ ϧⲁⲧⲉⲛ ⲑⲏⲛⲟⲩ ⳿ⲙⲙⲁⲩⲁⲧϥ ⲁⲛ.
But it is good to be zealously sought in a good matter at all times, and not only when I am present with you.
19 ⲓ̅ⲑ̅ ⲛⲁϣⲏⲣⲓ ⲛⲁⲓ ⳿ⲉϯ ϯⲛⲁⲕϩⲓ ⳿ⲙⲙⲱⲟⲩ ⳿ⲛⲕⲉⲥⲟⲡ ϣⲁⲧⲉ Ⲡⲭ̅ⲥ̅ ϭⲓⲙⲟⲣⲫⲏ ϧⲉⲛ ⲑⲏⲛⲟⲩ.
My little children, of whom I am again in travail until Christ be formed in you,
20 ⲕ̅ ⲛⲁⲓⲟⲩⲱϣ ⲇⲉ ⳿ⲉ⳿ⲓ ϩⲁⲣⲱⲧⲉⲛ ϯⲛⲟⲩ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⳿ⲉϣⲓⲃϯ ⳿ⲛⲧⲁ⳿ⲥⲙⲏ ϫⲉ ϯϣⲟⲗϩ ⳿ⲛϩⲏⲧ ϧⲉⲛ ⲑⲏⲛⲟⲩ.
yea, I could wish to be present with you now, and to change my voice; for I am perplexed about you.
21 ⲕ̅ⲁ̅ ⳿ⲁϫⲟⲥ ⲟⲩⲛ ⲛⲏⲓ ⲁⲧⲉⲧⲉⲛⲟⲩⲱϣ ⳿ⲉϣⲱⲡⲓ ϧⲁ ⲡⲓⲛⲟⲙⲟⲥ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉⲧⲉⲛⲥⲱⲟⲩⲛ ⳿ⲙⲡⲓⲛⲟⲙⲟⲥ ⲁⲛ.
Tell me, ye that desire to be under the law, do ye not hear the law?
22 ⲕ̅ⲃ̅ ⳿ⲥ⳿ⲥϧⲏⲟⲩⲧ ⲅⲁⲣ ϫⲉ ⲁⲃⲣⲁⲁⲙ ⲁϥ⳿ϫⲫⲉ ϣⲏⲣⲓ ⲃ̅ ⲟⲩⲁⲓ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϧⲉⲛ ϯⲃⲱⲕⲓ ⲛⲉⲙ ⲟⲩⲁⲓ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϧⲉⲛ ϯⲣⲉⲙϩⲏ.
For it is written, that Abraham had two sons, one by the handmaid, and one by the freewoman.
23 ⲕ̅ⲅ̅ ⲁⲗⲗⲁ ⲡⲓ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲙⲉⲛ ϧⲉⲛ ϯⲃⲱⲕⲓ ⲉⲧⲁⲩⲙⲁⲥϥ ⲕⲁⲧⲁ ⲥⲁⲣⲝ ⲡⲓ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲇⲉ ϧⲉⲛ ϯⲣⲉⲙϩⲏ ⲟⲩ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϧⲉⲛ ⲟⲩ⳿ⲉⲡⲁⲅⲅⲉⲗⲓⲁ ⲡⲉ.
Howbeit the [son] by the handmaid is born after the flesh; but the [son] by the freewoman [is born] through promise.
24 ⲕ̅ⲇ̅ ⲉⲧⲉ ⲛⲁⲓ ⲛⲉ ⳿ⲉϣⲁⲩⲉⲣⲁⲗⲗⲏⲅⲟⲣⲓⲛ ⳿ⲙⲙⲱⲟⲩ ⲇⲓ⳿ⲁⲑⲏⲕⲏ ⲃ̅ϯ ⲛⲉ ⲛⲁⲓ ⲟⲩ⳿ⲓ ⲙⲉⲛ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϧⲉⲛ ⳿ⲡⲧⲱⲟⲩ ⳿ⲛⲥⲓⲛⲁ ⲉⲥⲙⲓⲥⲓ ⲉⲩⲙⲉⲧⲃⲱⲕ ⲉⲧⲉ ⲁⲅⲁⲣ ⲧⲉ.
Which things contain an allegory: for these [women] are two covenants; one from mount Sinai, bearing children unto bondage, which is Hagar.
25 ⲕ̅ⲉ̅ ⲁⲅⲁⲣ ⲇⲉ ⲡⲉ ⳿ⲡⲧⲱⲟⲩ ⳿ⲛⲥⲓⲛⲁ ⲉϥⲭⲏ ϧⲉⲛ ⳿ⲧⲁⲣⲁⲃⲓⲁ ⲁϥⲟⲓ ⲇⲉ ⳿ⲛ⳿ϣⲫⲏⲣ ⳿ⲛϯⲙⲁϯ ⲛⲉⲙ ⳿ⲓⲗ̅ⲏ̅ⲙ̅ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ ϯⲛⲟⲩ ⳿ⲥⲟⲓ ⲅⲁⲣ ⳿ⲙⲃⲱⲕⲓ ⲛⲉⲙ ⲛⲉⲥϣⲏⲣⲓ.
Now this Hagar is mount Sinai in Arabia, and answereth to the Jerusalem that now is: for she is in bondage with her children.
26 ⲕ̅ⲋ̅ ⳿ⲓⲗ̅ⲏ̅ⲙ̅ ⲇⲉ ⲉⲧⲉ⳿ⲙ⳿ⲡϣⲱⲓ ⲟⲩⲣⲉⲙϩⲏ ⲧⲉ ⲉⲧⲉ ⲧⲉⲛⲙⲁⲩ ⲧⲉ.
But the Jerusalem that is above is free, which is our mother.
27 ⲕ̅ⲍ̅ ⳿ⲥ⳿ⲥϧⲏⲟⲩⲧ ⲅⲁⲣ ϫⲉ ⲟⲩⲛⲟϥ ⳿ⲙⲙⲟ ϯ ⲁϭⲣⲏⲛ ⲑⲏ ⲉⲧⲉ ⳿ⲙⲡⲁⲥⲙⲓⲥⲓ ⲫⲱϫⲓ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲱϣ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲑⲏ ⲉⲧⲉ ⳿ⲙⲡⲁⲥϯⲛⲁⲕϩⲓ ϫⲉ ⲛⲁϣⲉ ⲛⲓϣⲏ ⲣⲓ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ ϯϣⲁϥⲏ ⲙⲁⲗⲗⲟⲛ ⳿ⲉϩⲟⲧⲉ ⲑⲏ ⲉⲧⲉ ⲟⲩⲟⲛⲧⲁⲥ ⳿ⲙⲡⲓϩⲁⲓ ⳿ⲙⲙⲁⲩ.
For it is written, Rejoice, thou barren that bearest not; Break forth and cry, thou that travailest not: For more are the children of the desolate than of her which hath the husband.
28 ⲕ̅ⲏ̅ ⳿ⲁⲛⲟⲛ ⲇⲉ ⲛⲉⲛ⳿ⲥⲛⲏⲟⲩ ⲕⲁⲧⲁ ⳿ Ⲓⲥⲁⲁⲕ ⳿ⲁⲛⲟⲛ ϩⲁⲛϣⲏⲣⲓ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ ϯⲉⲡⲁⲅⲅⲉⲗⲓⲁ.
Now we, brethren, as Isaac was, are children of promise.
29 ⲕ̅ⲑ̅ ⲁⲗⲗⲁ ⳿ⲙ⳿ⲫⲣⲏϯ ⳿ⲙⲡⲓⲥⲏⲟⲩ ⲉⲧⲧⲏ ⲛⲁⲣⲉ ⲡⲓⲙⲓⲥⲓ ⲕⲁⲧⲁ ⲥⲁⲣⲝ ϭⲟϫⲓ ⳿ⲛⲥⲁ ⲡⲓⲙⲓⲥⲓ ⲕⲁⲧⲁ ⲡⲓⲡ͞ⲛⲁ̅ ⲡⲁⲓⲣⲏϯ ⲟⲛ ϯⲛⲟⲩ.
But as then he that was born after the flesh persecuted him [that was born] after the Spirit, even so it is now.
30 ⲗ̅ ⲁⲗⲗⲁ ⲟⲩ ⲡⲉ ⲉⲧⲉ ϯ⳿ⲅⲣⲁⲫⲏ ϫⲱ ⳿ⲙⲙⲟϥ ϩⲓⲟⲩ⳿ⲓ ⳿ⲛⲧⲁⲓⲃⲱⲕⲓ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲛⲉⲙ ⲡⲉⲥϣⲏ ⲣⲓ ⳿ⲛⲛⲉ ⳿ⲡϣⲏⲣⲓ ⲅⲁⲣ ⳿ⲛϯⲃⲱⲕⲓ ⲉⲣ⳿ⲕⲗⲏ ⲣⲟⲛⲟⲙⲓⲛ ⲛⲉⲙ ⳿ⲡϣⲏⲣⲓ ⳿ⲛϯⲣⲉⲙϩⲉ.
Howbeit what saith the scripture? Cast out the handmaid and her son: for the son of the handmaid shall not inherit with the son of the freewoman.
31 ⲗ̅ⲁ̅ ⳿ⲁⲛⲟⲛ ⲇⲉ ⲛⲉⲛ⳿ⲥⲛⲏⲟⲩ ⳿ⲁⲛⲟⲛ ⲛⲉⲛϣⲏⲣⲓ ⳿ⲛϯⲃⲱⲕⲓ ⲁⲛ ⲁⲗⲗⲁ ϯⲣⲉⲙϩⲉ
Wherefore, brethren, we are not children of a handmaid, but of the freewoman.
