1 ⲁ̅ ⲛⲁⲙⲉⲛⲣⲁϯ ⲑⲁⲓ ϩⲏⲇⲏ ⲧⲉ ⳿ⲑⲙⲁϩⲃ̅ϯ ⳿ⲛⲉⲡⲓⲥⲧⲟⲗⲏ ⳿ⲉϯ⳿ⲥϧⲁⲓ ⳿ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ⲛⲱⲧⲉⲛ ⲛⲁⲓ ⲉⲧⲉ ⳿ⲛ⳿ϧⲣⲏⲓ ⳿ⲛϧⲏⲧⲟⲩ ⲉⲓ⳿ⲉⲧⲟⲩⲛⲟⲥ ⲡⲉⲧⲉⲛϩⲏⲧ ⲉⲧⲧⲟⲩⲃⲏ ⲟⲩⲧ.
THIS second epistle, beloved, I now write unto you; in both which I stir up your pure minds by way of remembrance:
2 ⲃ̅ ϧⲉⲛ ⲟⲩⲙⲉⲩⲓ ⳿ⲉⲉⲣ⳿ⲫⲙⲉⲩⲓ ⳿ⲛⲛⲓⲥⲁϫⲓ ⲉⲧⲁⲩϫⲟⲧⲟⲩ ⲓⲥϫⲉⲛ ϣⲟⲣⲡ ⳿ⲛϫⲉ ⲛⲓⲡⲣⲟⲫⲏⲧⲏⲥ ⲉⲑⲟⲩⲁⲃ ⲛⲉⲙ ϯⲉⲛⲧⲟⲗⲏ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ ⲛⲓⲁⲡⲟⲥⲧⲟⲗⲟⲥ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ ⲡⲉⲛ⳪ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲡⲉⲛⲥⲱⲧⲏⲣ.
That ye may be mindful of the words which were spoken before by the holy prophets, and of the commandment of us the apostles of the Lord and Saviour:
3 ⲅ̅ ⲫⲁⲓ ⲇⲉ ⳿ⲛϣⲟⲣⲡ ⲁⲣⲓ⳿ⲉⲙⲓ ⳿ⲉⲣⲟϥ ϫⲉ ϧⲉⲛ ⲛⲓ⳿ⲉϩⲟⲟⲩ ⳿ⲛϧⲁ⳿ⲉ ⲉⲩ⳿ⲉ⳿ⲓ ⳿ⲛϫⲉ ϩⲁⲛⲣⲉϥⲥⲱⲃⲓ ⲉⲩⲙⲟϣⲓ ⲕⲁⲧⲁ ⲛⲟⲩ⳿ⲉⲡⲓⲑⲩⲙⲓⲁ.
Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts,
4 ⲇ̅ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲉⲩϫⲱ ⳿ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ϫⲉ ⲁⲥⲑⲱⲛ ϯ ⲉⲡⲁⲅⲅⲉⲗⲓⲁ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ ⲡⲉϥϫⲓⲛ⳿ⲓ ⲓⲥϫⲉⲛ ⲉⲧⲁ ⲛⲉⲛⲓⲟϯ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲉⲛⲕⲟⲧ ⲛⲁⲓ ⲧⲏⲣⲟⲩ ⲥⲉϣⲟⲡ ⳿ⲙⲡⲁⲓⲣⲏϯ ⲓⲥϫⲉⲛ ⳿ⲧⲁⲣⲭⲏ ⳿ⲙⲡⲓⲥⲱⲛⲧ.
And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation.
5 ⲉ̅ ⲡⲓϩⲱⲃ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲥⲉⲟⲓ ⳿ⲛⲁⲧ⳿ⲉⲙⲓ ⳿ⲉⲣⲟϥ ⲫⲁⲓ ϩⲱⲟⲩ ⲡⲉⲧⲟⲩⲟⲩⲁϣϥ ϫⲉ ⲛⲓⲫⲏⲟⲩ⳿ⲓ ⲥⲉϣⲟⲡ ⲓⲥϫⲉⲛ ϩⲏ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⳿ⲡⲕⲁϩⲓ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϧⲉⲛ ⲟⲩⲙⲱⲟⲩ ⲛⲉⲙ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲓⲧⲉⲛ ⲟⲩⲙⲱⲟⲩ ⲁϥⲟϩⲓ ⳿ⲉⲣⲁⲧϥ ϧⲉⲛ ⳿ⲡⲥⲁϫⲓ ⳿ⲙⲫϯ.
For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water:
6 ⲋ̅ ⲛⲁⲓ ⲉⲧⲉ ⲉⲑⲃⲏⲧⲟⲩ ⲁ ⲡⲓⲕⲟⲥⲙⲟⲥ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ ⲡⲓⲥⲏⲟⲩ ⲉⲧⲧⲏ ⲁϥϫⲱⲗⲕ ⳿ⲉ⳿ϧⲣⲏⲓ ϧⲉⲛ ⲟⲩⲙⲱⲟⲩ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲁϥⲧⲁⲕⲟ.
Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished:
7 ⲍ̅ ⲛⲓⲫⲏⲟⲩ⳿ⲓ ⲇⲉ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ ϯⲛⲟⲩ ⲛⲉⲙ ⲡⲓⲕⲁϩⲓ ⳿ⲛ⳿ϧⲣⲏⲓ ϧⲉⲛ ⲡⲁⲓⲥⲁϫⲓ ⲣⲱ ⲥⲉϩⲱⲟⲩ⳿ⲓ ⳿ⲉϧⲟⲩⲛ ϧⲉⲛ ⳿ⲡ⳿ⲭⲣⲱⲙ ⲉⲩⲁⲣⲉϩ ⳿ⲉⲣⲱⲟⲩ ⳿ⲉ⳿ⲡ⳿ⲉϩⲟⲟⲩ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ ϯ⳿ⲕⲣⲓⲥⲓⲥ ⲛⲉⲙ ⲧⲁⲅⲱ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ ⲛⲓⲁⲥⲉⲃⲏⲥ ⳿ⲛⲣⲱⲙⲓ.
But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.
8 ⲏ̅ ⲫⲁⲓ ⲇⲉ ⳿ⲙⲡⲉⲣϣⲱⲡⲓ ⲉⲣⲉⲧⲉⲛⲟⲃϣ ⳿ⲉⲣⲟϥ ⲛⲁⲙⲉⲛⲣⲁϯ ϫⲉ ⲟⲩ⳿ⲉϩⲟⲟⲩ ⳿ⲛⲟⲩⲱⲧ ⲛⲁϩⲣⲉⲛ Ⲡ⳪ ⳿ⲙ⳿ⲫⲣⲏϯ ⳿ⲛⲟⲩϣⲟ ⳿ⲛⲣⲟⲙⲡⲓ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲟⲩϣⲟ ⳿ⲛⲣⲟⲙⲡⲓ ⳿ⲙ⳿ⲫⲣⲏϯ ⳿ⲛⲟⲩ⳿ⲉϩⲟⲟⲩ ⳿ⲛⲟⲩⲱⲧ.
But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.
9 ⲑ̅ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⳿ϥⲛⲁⲱⲥⲕ ⲁⲛ ⳿ⲛϫⲉ Ⲡ⳪ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ ϯ ⲉⲡⲁⲅⲅⲉⲗⲓⲁ ⳿ⲙ⳿ⲫⲣⲏϯ ⲉⲧⲉ ϩⲁⲛⲟⲩⲟⲛ ⲙⲉⲩⲓ ϫⲉ ⳿ϥⲛⲁⲱⲥⲕ ⲁⲗⲗⲁ ⲁϥⲱⲟⲩ⳿ⲛϩⲏⲧ ⳿ⲉⲣⲱⲧⲉⲛ ⳿ⲛ⳿ϥⲟⲩⲱϣ ⲁⲛ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ ⳿ϩⲗⲓ ⲧⲁⲕⲟ ⲁⲗⲗⲁ ⲉϥⲟⲩⲱϣ ⳿ⲛⲧⲟⲩ⳿ⲓ ⲧⲏⲣⲟⲩ ⲉⲩⲙⲉⲧⲁⲛⲟⲓⲁ.
The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
10 ⲓ̅ ⲉϥ⳿ⲉ⳿ⲓ ⲇⲉ ⳿ⲛϫⲉ ⳿ⲡ⳿ⲉϩⲟⲟⲩ ⳿ⲙⲠ⳪ ⳿ⲙ⳿ⲫⲣⲏϯ ⳿ⲛⲟⲩⲣⲉϥϭⲓⲟⲩ⳿ⲓ ⲫⲁⲓ ⲉⲧⲉ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲓⲧⲟⲧϥ ⲛⲓⲫⲏⲟⲩ⳿ⲓ ⲥⲉⲛⲁⲥⲓⲛⲓ ϧⲉⲛ ⲟⲩⲟⲩⲟⲓ ⲛⲓ⳿ⲥⲧⲟⲓⲭⲓⲟⲛ ⲥⲉⲛⲁⲣⲱⲕϩ ⲥⲉⲛⲁⲃⲱⲗ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⳿ⲡⲕⲁϩⲓ ⲛⲉⲙ ⲛⲓ⳿ϩⲃⲏⲟⲩⲓ ⲉⲧⲉ ⳿ⲛϧⲏⲧϥ ⲉⲩ⳿ⲉⲣⲱⲕϩ.
But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.
11 ⲓ̅ⲁ̅ ⲛⲁⲓ ⲟⲩⲛ ⲧⲏⲣⲟⲩ ⲉⲩⲛⲁⲃⲱⲗ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲛⲁⲥ⳿ⲙ⳿ⲡϣⲁ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉⲧⲉⲛⲙⲟϣⲓ ⳿ⲛⲁϣ ⳿ⲛⲣⲏϯ ⳿ⲛ⳿ϧⲣⲏⲓ ϧⲉⲛ ϩⲁⲛϫⲓⲛⲙⲟϣⲓ ⲉⲩⲟⲩⲁⲃ ⲛⲉⲙ ϩⲁⲛⲙⲉⲧⲉⲩⲥⲉⲃⲏ ⲥ.
Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness,
12 ⲓ̅ⲃ̅ ⲉⲣⲉⲧⲉⲛⲥⲟⲙⲥ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϧⲉⲛ ⲟⲩⲓⲏⲥ ϧⲁ⳿ⲧϩⲏ ⳿ⲙⲡⲓ⳿ⲉϩⲟⲟⲩ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ ϯⲡⲁⲣⲟⲩⲥⲓⲁ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ Ⲡ⳪ ⲫⲁⲓ ⲉⲧⲉ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲓⲧⲟⲧϥ ⲛⲓⲫⲏⲟⲩ⳿ⲓ ⲥⲉⲛⲁⲣⲱⲕϩ ⳿ⲛⲥⲉϯⲟⲩⲱ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲛⲓ⳿ⲥⲧⲟⲓⲭⲓⲟⲛ ⲥⲉⲛⲁⲣⲱⲕϩ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⳿ⲛⲥⲉⲃⲱⲗ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗ.
Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat?
13 ⲓ̅ⲅ̅ ϩⲁⲛⲫⲏⲟⲩ⳿ⲓ ⳿ⲙⲃⲉⲣⲓ ⲛⲉⲙ ⲟⲩⲕⲁϩⲓ ⳿ⲙⲃⲉⲣⲓ ⲕⲁⲧⲁ ⲛⲉϥⲉⲡⲁⲅⲅⲉⲗⲓⲁ ⲉⲧⲉⲛϫⲟⲩϣⲧ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϧⲁϫⲱⲟⲩ ⲛⲁⲓ ⲉⲧⲉ ϯⲙⲉⲑⲙⲏⲓ ϣⲟⲡ ⳿ⲛϧⲏⲧⲟⲩ.
Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.
14 ⲓ̅ⲇ̅ ⲉⲑⲃⲉⲫⲁⲓ ⲛⲁⲙⲉⲛⲣⲁϯ ⲉⲛⲥⲟⲙⲥ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϧⲁ⳿ⲧϩⲏ ⳿ⲛⲛⲁⲓ ⲓⲏⲥ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉⲛ ⲑⲏⲛⲟⲩ ⲉⲑⲣⲟⲩϫⲉⲙ ⲑⲏⲛⲟⲩ ⲉⲣⲉⲧⲉⲛⲟⲓ ⳿ⲛⲁⲧⲁϭⲛⲓ ⲛⲉⲙⲁϥ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⳿ⲛⲁⲧⲑⲱⲗⲉⲃ ⳿ⲙⲡⲉϥ⳿ⲙⲑⲟ ⳿ⲛ⳿ϧⲣⲏⲓ ϧⲉⲛ ⲟⲩϩⲓⲣⲏⲛⲏ.
Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot, and blameless.
15 ⲓ̅ⲉ̅ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ϯⲙⲉⲧⲣⲉϥⲱⲟⲩ⳿ⲛϩⲏⲧ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ Ⲡ⳪ ⲟⲡⲥ ⳿ⲉⲣⲱⲧⲉⲛ ⲉⲩⲟⲩϫⲁⲓ ⲕⲁⲧⲁ⳿ⲫⲣⲏϯ ϩⲱϥ ⳿ⲙⲡⲉⲛⲁⲅⲁⲡⲏⲧⲟⲥ ⳿ⲛⲥⲟⲛ ⲡⲁⲩⲗⲟⲥ ⲕⲁⲧⲁ ϯ ⲥⲟⲫⲓ⳿ⲁ ⲉⲧⲁⲩⲧⲏⲓⲥ ⲛⲁϥ ⲁϥ⳿ⲥϧⲁⲓ ⲛⲱⲧⲉⲛ.
And account that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation; even as our beloved brother Paul also according to the wisdom given unto him hath written unto you;
16 ⲓ̅ⲋ̅ ⳿ⲙ⳿ⲫⲣⲏϯ ⲟⲛ ϧⲉⲛ ⲛⲉϥⲉⲡⲓⲥⲧⲟⲗⲏ ⲧⲏ ⲣⲟⲩ ⲉϥⲥⲁϫⲓ ⳿ⲛ⳿ϧⲣⲏⲓ ⳿ⲛϧⲏⲧⲟⲩ ⲉⲑⲃⲉ ⲛⲁⲓ ⲛⲁⲓ ⲉⲧⲉ ϩⲁⲛⲟⲩⲟⲛ ⳿ⲛϧⲏⲧⲟⲩ ⲙⲟⲕϩ ⳿ⲛ⳿ⲉⲙⲓ ⳿ⲉⲣⲱⲟⲩ ⲛⲁⲓ ⲉⲧⲉ ϣⲁⲣⲉ ⲛⲓⲁⲧϩⲏⲧ ⲛⲉⲙ ⲛⲏⲉⲧⲉ ⳿ⲛⲥⲉⲧⲁϫⲣⲏⲟⲩⲧ ⲁⲛ ⲉⲣ⳿ⲥ⳿ⲧⲣⲉⲃⲗⲟⲓⲛ ⳿ⲙⲙⲱⲟⲩ ⳿ⲙ⳿ⲫⲣⲏϯ ⳿ⲙ⳿ⲡⲥⲉⲡⲓ ⳿ⲛⲛⲓ⳿ⲅⲣⲁⲫⲏⲉⲧⲟⲩⲛⲁⲥⲟⲕⲟⲩ ⲕⲁⲧⲁ ⲛⲟⲩⲁⲅⲱ ⳿ⲙⲙⲁⲩⲁⲧⲟⲩ.
As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction.
17 ⲓ̅ⲍ̅ ⳿ⲛⲑⲱⲧⲉⲛ ⲟⲩⲛ ⲛⲁ⳿ⲥⲛⲏⲟⲩ ⲉⲣⲉⲧⲉⲛⲉⲣϣⲟⲣⲡ ⳿ⲛⲥⲱⲟⲩⲛ ⳿ⲁⲣⲉϩ ⳿ⲉⲣⲱⲧⲉⲛ ϩⲓⲛⲁ ⲙⲏⲡⲱⲥ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉⲧⲉⲛⲥⲱⲣⲉⲙ ϧⲉⲛ ⳿ⲧ⳿ⲡⲗⲁⲛⲏ ⳿ⲛⲛⲓⲁⲧϩⲏⲧ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉⲧⲉⲛϩⲉⲓ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϧⲉⲛ ⲡⲉⲧⲉⲛⲧⲁϫⲣⲟ ⳿ⲙⲙⲓⲛ ⳿ⲙⲙⲱⲧⲉⲛ.
Ye therefore, beloved, seeing ye know these things before, beware lest ye also, being led away with the error of the wicked, fall from your own stedfastness.
18 ⲓ̅ⲏ̅ ⲁⲓⲁⲓ ⲇⲉ ⳿ⲛ⳿ϧⲣⲏⲓ ϧⲉⲛ ⲡⲓ⳿ϩⲙⲟⲧ ⲛⲉⲙ ⳿ⲡⲥⲟⲩⲉⲛ ⲡⲉⲛ⳪ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲡⲉⲛⲥⲱⲧⲏⲣ Ⲓⲏ̅ⲥ̅ Ⲡⲭ̅ⲥ̅ ⲫⲏⲉⲧⲉ ⲫⲱϥ ⲡⲉ ⲡⲓⲱⲟⲩ ⲓⲥϫⲉⲛ ϯⲛⲟⲩ ⲛⲉⲙ ϣⲁ ⲉⲛⲉϩ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ ⲛⲓⲉⲛⲉϩ ⲁⲙⲏⲛ ⲡⲉⲧⲣⲟⲩ ⲉⲡⲓⲥⲧⲟⲗⲏ ⲃ̅ (aiōn g165)
But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen. (aiōn g165)
