2 ⲃ̅ ⲕⲁⲧⲁ ⲟⲩϣⲟⲣⲡ ⳿ⲛ⳿ⲉⲙⲓ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ ⲫϯ ⳿ⲫⲓⲱⲧ ϧⲉⲛ ⲡⲓⲧⲟⲩⲃⲟ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ ⲡⲓⲡ͞ⲛⲁ̅ ⲉⲩⲥⲱϯ ⲛⲉⲙ ⲟⲩⲛⲟⲩϫϧ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ ⳿ⲡ⳿ⲥⲛⲟϥ ⳿ⲛⲒⲏ̅ⲥ̅ Ⲡⲭ̅ⲥ̅ ⲡⲉⲛ⳪ ⳿ⲡ⳿ϩⲙⲟⲧ ⲛⲉⲙ ϯϩⲓⲣⲏⲛⲏ ⲉⲩ⳿ⲉ⳿ⲁϣⲁⲓ ⲛⲱⲧⲉⲛ.
elect according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, by the setting apart of the Spirit, unto obedience and sprinkling with the blood of Jesus Christ: May grace and peace be multiplied to you.
3 ⲅ̅ ⳿ϥ⳿ⲥⲙⲁⲣⲱⲟⲩⲧ ⳿ⲛϫⲉ ⲫϯ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⳿ⲫⲓⲱⲧ ⳿ⲙⲡⲉⲛ⳪ Ⲓⲏ̅ⲥ̅ Ⲡⲭ̅ⲥ̅ ⲫⲏⲉⲧⲉ ⲕⲁⲧⲁ ⳿ⲡ⳿ⲁϣⲁⲓ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ ⲡⲉϥⲛⲁⲓ ⲁϥ⳿ϫⲫⲟⲛ ⳿ⲉϧⲟⲩⲛ ⳿ⲉⲟⲩϩⲉⲗⲡⲓⲥ ⳿ⲛⲱⲛϧ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲓⲧⲉⲛ ⳿ⲡⲧⲱⲛϥ ⳿ⲛⲒⲏ̅ⲥ̅ Ⲡⲭ̅ⲥ̅ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϧⲉⲛ ⲛⲏⲉⲑⲙⲱⲟⲩⲧ.
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His great mercy has given us another birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from among the dead,
into an imperishable and undefiled and unfading inheritance, already reserved in the heavens for you,
5 ⲉ̅ ⲁ ⲛⲏⲉⲧⲟⲩⲣⲱⲓⲥ ⳿ⲉⲣⲱⲟⲩ ϧⲉⲛ ⲟⲩϫⲟⲙ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ ⲫϯ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲓⲧⲉⲛ ⳿ⲫⲛⲁϩϯ ⲉⲩⲟⲩϫⲁⲓ ⲉϥⲥⲉⲃⲧⲱⲧ ⲉϥⲛⲁϭⲱⲣⲡ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϧⲉⲛ ⲛⲓⲥⲏⲟⲩ ⳿ⲛϧⲁ⳿ⲉ.
who are being guarded by the power of God through faith unto a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.
6 ⲋ̅ ⲫⲏⲉⲧⲉⲧⲉⲛⲛⲁⲑⲉⲗⲏⲗ ⳿ⲛϧⲏⲧϥ ⳿ⲡⲣⲟⲥ ⲟⲩⲕⲟⲩϫⲓ ϯⲛⲟⲩ ⲓⲥϫⲉ ⳿ⲥϣⲉ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉⲧⲉⲛϭⲓ⳿ⲙⲕⲁϩ ⳿ⲛϩⲏⲧ ⳿ⲛ⳿ϧⲣⲏⲓ ϧⲉⲛ ϩⲁⲛⲡⲓⲣⲁⲥⲙⲟⲥ ⳿ⲛⲟⲩⲙⲏϣ ⳿ⲛⲣⲏϯ.
You should be overjoyed about this, even if just now, briefly, of necessity, you have been distressed by a variety of trials,
7 ⲍ̅ ϩⲓⲛⲁ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ ⳿ⲑⲙⲉⲧⲥⲱⲧⲡ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ ⲡⲉⲧⲉⲛⲛⲁϩϯ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉⲥϣⲱⲡⲓ ⲉⲥⲧⲁⲓⲏⲟⲩⲧ ⳿ⲉϩⲟⲧⲉ ⲡⲓⲛⲟⲩⲃ ⲫⲏⲉⲑⲛⲁⲧⲁⲕⲟ ⲉⲩⲉⲣⲇⲟⲕⲓⲙⲁⲍⲓⲛ ⲇⲉ ⳿ⲙⲙⲟϥ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲓⲧⲉⲛ ⲟⲩ⳿ⲭⲣⲱⲙ ⳿ⲛⲧⲟⲩϫⲉⲙ ⲑⲏⲛⲟⲩ ϧⲉⲛ ⲟⲩϣⲟⲩϣⲟⲩ ⲛⲉⲙ ⲟⲩⲱⲟⲩ ⲛⲉⲙ ⲟⲩⲧⲁⲓⲟ ϧⲉⲛ ⲡⲓϭⲱⲣⲡ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ Ⲓⲏ̅ⲥ̅ Ⲡⲭ̅ⲥ̅.
so that the demonstrated genuineness of your faith (much more precious than gold that perishes, albeit tested through fire) may translate into praise, glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ
8 ⲏ̅ ⲫⲏⲉⲧⲉⲧⲉⲛⲥⲱⲟⲩⲛ ⳿ⲙⲙⲟϥ ⲁⲛ ⲧⲉⲧⲉⲛⲉⲣⲁⲅⲁⲡⲁⲛ ⳿ⲙⲙⲟϥ ⲫⲁⲓ ϯⲛⲟⲩ ⲧⲉⲧⲉⲛⲛⲁⲩ ⳿ⲉⲣⲟϥ ⲁⲛ ⲧⲉⲧⲉⲛⲛⲁϩϯ ⲇⲉ ⳿ⲉⲣⲟϥ ⲑⲉⲗⲏ ⲗ ϧⲉⲛ ⲟⲩⲣⲁϣⲓ ⳿ⲛⲁⲧ⳿ϣⲥⲁϫⲓ ⳿ⲙⲙⲟϥ ⳿ⲉⲁϥϭⲓⲱⲟⲩ.
—whom not having understood you love, into whom believing (not yet seeing) you exult with joy inexpressible, already glorified,
obtaining for yourselves the end result of your faith, the salvation of your souls.
10 ⲓ̅ ⲉⲑⲃⲉⲫⲁⲓ ⲛⲟϩⲉⲙ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲁⲩⲕⲱϯ ⳿ⲛϫⲉ ⲛⲓⲡⲣⲟⲫⲏⲧⲏⲥ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲁⲩϧⲟⲧϧⲉⲧ ⲛⲏⲉⲧⲁⲩⲉⲣ⳿ⲡⲣⲟⲫⲏ ⲧⲉⲩⲓⲛ ϧⲁ ⲡⲓ⳿ϩⲙⲟⲧ ⲉⲧⲁϥϣⲱⲡⲓ ϧⲉⲛ ⲑⲏⲛⲟⲩ.
Concerning this salvation the prophets, who prophesied about the grace that would come to you, searched and inquired diligently,
11 ⲓ̅ⲁ̅ ⲉⲩϧⲟⲧϧⲉⲧ ⳿ⲛⲥⲁ ⲡⲓⲥⲏⲟⲩ ⲉⲧⲁ ⲡⲓⲡ͞ⲛⲁ̅ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ Ⲡⲭ̅ⲥ̅ ⲥⲁϫⲓ ⳿ⲛϧⲏⲧⲟⲩ ⳿ⲉⲁⲩⲉⲣϣⲟⲣⲡ ⳿ⲛⲉⲣⲙⲉⲑⲣⲉ ϧⲁ ⲛⲓ⳿ⲙⲕⲁⲩϩ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ Ⲡⲭ̅ⲥ̅ ⲛⲉⲙ ⲛⲓⲱⲟⲩ ⲉⲑⲛⲏⲟⲩ ⲙⲉⲛⲉⲛⲥⲁ ⲛⲁⲓ.
investigating into whom, or what sort of time, the Spirit of Christ who was in them was indicating as He testified beforehand the sufferings that would be inflicted on Christ and the glories that would follow them.
12 ⲓ̅ⲃ̅ ⲛⲏⲉⲧⲁⲩϭⲱⲣⲡ ⲛⲱⲟⲩ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϫⲉ ⲛⲁⲩ⳿ⲓⲣⲓ ⳿ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ⲛⲱⲟⲩ ⲁⲛ ⲛⲁⲩⲉⲣⲇⲓ⳿ⲁⲕⲱⲛⲓⲛ ⲇⲉ ⳿ⲙⲙⲱⲟⲩ ⲛⲱⲧⲉⲛ ⲛⲁⲓ ϯⲛⲟⲩ ⲉⲧⲁⲩⲧⲁⲙⲱⲧⲉⲛ ⳿ⲉⲣⲱⲟⲩ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲓⲧⲟⲧⲟⲩ ⳿ⲛⲛⲏⲉⲧⲁⲩϩⲓϣⲉⲛⲛⲟⲩϥⲓ ⲛⲱⲧⲉⲛ ϧⲉⲛ ⲟⲩⲡ͞ⲛⲁ̅ ⲉϥⲟⲩⲁⲃ ⳿ⲉⲁⲩⲟⲩⲟⲣⲡϥ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϧⲉⲛ ⳿ⲧⲫⲉ ⲛⲏⲉⲧⲉ ⲟⲩⲟⲛ ϩⲁⲛⲁⲅⲅⲉⲗⲟⲥ ⲉⲣ⳿ⲉⲡⲓⲑⲩⲙⲓⲛ ⳿ⲉⲛⲁⲩ ⳿ⲉⲣⲱⲟⲩ.
It was revealed to them that they were not ministering these things to themselves, but to you; which things have now been announced to you by those who proclaimed the gospel to you, with the Holy Spirit sent from heaven—things that angels really desire to look into.
13 ⲓ̅ⲅ̅ ⲉⲑⲃⲉⲫⲁⲓ ⲉⲣⲉⲧⲉⲛϧⲉⲕ ⲑⲏⲛⲟⲩ ϩⲓϫⲉⲛ ⲛⲓϯⲡⲓ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ ⲡⲉⲧⲉⲛϩⲏⲧ ⲉⲣⲉⲧⲉⲛⲣⲏⲥ ϧⲉⲛ ⲟⲩϫⲱⲕ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲁⲣⲓϩⲉⲗⲡⲓⲥ ⳿ⲉⲡⲓ⳿ϩⲙⲟⲧ ⲉⲧⲟⲩⲛⲁ⳿ⲉⲛϥ ⲛⲱⲧⲉⲛ ϧⲉⲛ ⲡⲓϭⲱⲣⲡ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ Ⲓⲏ̅ⲥ̅ Ⲡⲭ̅ⲥ̅.
Therefore, having girded up the loins of your mind, staying sober, rest your hope fully upon the grace being brought to you in the revelation of Jesus Christ—
14 ⲓ̅ⲇ̅ ⳿ⲙ⳿ⲫⲣⲏϯ ⳿ⲛϩⲁⲛϣⲏⲣⲓ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ ⳿ⲡⲥⲱⲧⲉⲙ ⲉⲣⲉⲧⲉⲛⲟⲓ ⳿ⲛ⳿ϣⲫⲏⲣ ⳿ⲛ⳿ⲥⲙⲟⲧ ⲁⲛ ⳿ⲛ⳿ϧⲣⲏⲓ ϧⲉⲛ ⲛⲓⲉⲡⲓⲑⲩⲙⲓⲁ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ ϣⲟⲣⲡ ⲛⲏ ⲉⲛⲁⲣⲉⲧⲉⲛ⳿ⲓⲣⲓ ⳿ⲙⲙⲱⲟⲩ ϧⲉⲛ ⲟⲩⲙⲉⲧⲁⲧ⳿ⲉⲙⲓ.
as children of obedience, not conforming yourselves to the former lusts as in your ignorance,
but just as He who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your way of life,
because it is written, “You shall be holy, for I am holy.”
17 ⲓ̅ⲍ̅ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲓⲥϫⲉ ⲫⲏⲉⲑⲛⲁϯϩⲁⲡ ϧⲉⲛ ⲟⲩⲙⲉⲧⲁⲧϫⲟⲩϣⲧ ⳿ⲉϩⲟ ⳿ⲉⲡⲓⲟⲩⲁⲓ ⲡⲓⲟⲩⲁⲓ ⲕⲁⲧⲁ ⲛⲉϥ⳿ϩⲃⲏⲟⲩ⳿ⲓ ⲁⲣⲉⲧⲉⲛⲛⲁⲙⲟⲩϯ ⳿ⲉⲣⲟϥ ϫⲉ ⲡⲉⲛⲓⲱⲧ ⲡⲓⲥⲏⲟⲩ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉⲧⲉⲛⲙⲉⲧⲣⲉⲙ⳿ⲛϫⲱⲓⲗⲓ ⲙⲟϣⲓ ⳿ⲛϧⲏⲧϥ ϧⲉⲛ ⲟⲩϩⲟϯ.
Also, since you invoke as Father the One who without partiality judges according to each one's work, conduct yourselves during the time of your sojourn here in fear,
18 ⲓ̅ⲏ̅ ⲉⲣⲉⲧⲉⲛ⳿ⲉⲙⲓ ϫⲉ ⲉⲧⲁⲩⲥⲉⲧ ⲑⲏⲛⲟⲩ ⲁⲛ ϧⲉⲛ ⲟⲩⲛⲟⲩⲃ ⲛⲉⲙ ⲟⲩϩⲁⲧ ⲛⲏⲉⲑⲛⲁⲧⲁⲕⲟ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲁ ⲡⲉⲧⲉⲛϫⲓⲛⲙⲟϣⲓ ⲉⲧϣⲟⲩⲱⲟⲩ ⲉⲧⲁⲩⲧⲏ ⲓϥ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉⲛ ⲑⲏⲛⲟⲩ ⳿ⲛϫⲉ ⲛⲉⲧⲉⲛⲓⲟϯ.
knowing that it was not with perishable things (silver or gold) that you were redeemed from the futile way of life handed down by your forefathers,
19 ⲓ̅ⲑ̅ ⲁⲗⲗⲁ ⲉⲧⲁⲩⲥⲉⲧ ⲑⲏⲛⲟⲩ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲓⲧⲉⲛ ⲟⲩ⳿ⲥⲛⲟϥ ⲉϥⲧⲁⲓⲏⲟⲩⲧ ⳿ⲙ⳿ⲫⲣⲏϯ ⳿ⲛⲟⲩϩⲓⲏⲃ ⳿ⲛⲁⲧⲁϭⲛⲓ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⳿ⲛⲁⲧⲑⲱⲗⲉⲃ Ⲡⲭ̅ⲥ̅.
but with the precious blood of Christ, as of a faultless and pure lamb;

who was foreknown indeed before the foundation of the world, but was revealed in these last times for your sake,
21 ⲕ̅ⲁ̅ ⲛⲏⲉⲑⲛⲁϩϯ ⳿ⲉⲫϯ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲓⲧⲟⲧϥ ⳿ⲙⲫⲏⲉⲧⲁϥⲧⲟⲩⲛⲟⲥϥ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϧⲉⲛ ⲛⲏⲉⲑⲙⲱⲟⲩⲧ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲁϥϯⲱⲟⲩ ⲛⲁϥ ϩⲱⲥⲧⲉ ⲡⲉⲧⲉⲛⲛⲁϩϯ ⲛⲉⲙ ⲧⲉⲧⲉⲛϩⲉⲗⲡⲓⲥ ⳿ⲛⲧⲟⲩϣⲱⲡⲓ ϧⲉⲛ ⲫϯ.
who through Him are believing into God, who raised Him out from the dead and gave Him glory, so that your faith and hope are into God.

Since you have purified your souls by obeying the truth through the Spirit, resulting in sincere brotherly love, you must love one another fervently from a pure heart,

For: “All flesh is as grass, and all man's glory as flower of grass. The grass withers and its flower falls off, but the Lord's word endures forever.”
