1 ⲁ̅ ⲒⲎⲤⲞⲨⲤ ⲆⲈ ⲀϤϢⲈ ⲚⲀϤ ⲈⲠⲒⲦⲰⲞⲨ ⲚⲦⲈⲚⲒϪⲰⲒⲦ
Jesus went to the Mount of Olives.
2 ⲃ̅ ⲒⲦⲀ ⲀϤⲒ ⲚϨⲀⲚⲀⲦⲞⲞⲨⲒ ⲈⲠⲒⲈⲢⲪⲈⲒ ⲚⲒⲘⲎ ϢⲆⲈ ⲀⲨⲒ ϨⲀⲢⲞϤ ⲞⲨⲞϨ ⲀϤϨⲈⲘⲤⲒ ⲈϮⲤⲂⲰ ⲚⲰⲞⲨ
At dawn, however, he came back to the Temple, where the people came to him in crowds. He had taken his seat and was teaching them,
3 ⲅ̅ ⲚⲒⲀⲢⲬⲎⲈⲢⲈⲨⲤ ⲆⲈ ⲚⲈⲘ ⲚⲒⲪⲀⲢⲒⲤⲈⲞⲤ ⲀⲨⲒⲚⲒ ⲚⲀϤ ⲚⲞⲨⲤϨⲒⲘⲒ ⲀⲨϪⲈⲘⲤ ϦⲈⲚⲞⲨⲠⲞⲢⲚⲒⲀ ⲞⲨⲞϨ ⲀⲨⲦⲀϨⲞⲤ ⲈⲢⲀⲦⲤ ϦⲈⲚⲐⲘⲎϮ
when the Scribes and Pharisees had brought a woman who had been caught in the act of adultery. They made her stand in the middle of the court, and said to him.
4 ⲇ̅ ⲞⲨⲞϨ ⲠⲈϪⲰⲞⲨ ⲚⲀϤ ϪⲈ ⲪⲢⲈϤϮⲤⲂⲰ ⲦⲀⲒⲤϨⲒⲘⲒ ⲐⲀⲒ ⲀⲚϪⲈⲘⲤ ϦⲈⲚⲞⲨⲠⲞⲢⲚⲒⲀ
"Rabbi, this woman has been found in the very act of adultery.
5 ⲉ̅ ⲞⲨⲞϨ ⲪⲚⲞⲘⲞⲤ ⲘⲘⲰⲨⲤⲎⲤ ⲞⲨⲀϨⲤⲀϨⲚⲒ ⲈϨⲒⲰⲚⲒ ⲈϪⲰⲤ ⲞⲨ ⲠⲈ ⲆⲈ ⲈⲦⲈⲔϪⲰ ⲘⲘⲞϤ ⲚⲐⲞⲔ
"Now Moses, in the Law, has commanded us to stone such creatures. But you, what do you say?"
6 ⲋ̅ ⲪⲀⲒ ⲆⲈ ⲀⲨϪⲰϤ ⲈⲨⲈⲢⲠⲒⲢⲀⲌⲒⲚ ⲘⲘⲞϤ ϨⲒⲚⲀ ⲚⲦⲞⲨϪⲈⲘ ⲖⲰⲒϪⲒ ϨⲒϪⲰϤ ⲒⲎⲤⲞⲨⲤ ⲆⲈ ⲀϤⲢⲒⲔⲒ ⲚⲚⲈϤⲂⲀⲖ ⲀϤⲤϦⲀⲒ ⲘⲠⲈϤⲦⲎⲂ ϨⲒϪⲈⲚ ⲠⲒⲔⲀϨⲒ
(This they said to tempt him, so that they could bring a charge against him.)
7 ⲍ̅ ⲈⲦⲀⲨⲰⲤⲔ ⲆⲈ ⲘⲠⲈϤⲈⲢⲞⲨⲰ ⲀϤϤⲀⲒ ⲚⲦⲈϤⲀⲪⲈ ⲠⲈϪⲀϤ ⲚⲰⲞⲨ ϪⲈ ⲚⲒⲘ ϦⲈⲚⲐⲎⲚⲞⲨ ⲀϬⲚⲈ ⲚⲞⲂⲒ ⲘⲀⲢⲈϤϨⲒⲰⲚⲒ ⲈϪⲰⲤ ⲚϢⲞⲢⲠ ⲚⲞⲨⲰⲚⲒ
But Jesus stooped down, and began to write on the ground with his finger. When they continued to question him, he raised himself and said to them, "Let the innocent man among you be the first to throw the stone at her."
8 ⲏ̅ ⲦⲞⲦⲈ ⲀϤⲢⲈⲔ ϪⲰϤ ⲞⲨⲞϨ ⲀϤⲤϦⲀⲒ ϨⲒϪⲈⲚ ⲠⲔⲀϨⲒ
Then he stooped down again, and again began to write on the ground.
9 ⲑ̅ ⲈⲦⲀⲨⲤⲰⲦⲈⲘ ⲈⲪⲀⲒ ⲈⲂⲞⲖ ϨⲒⲦⲞⲦϤ ⲞⲨⲞϨ ⲀⲨⲔⲀϮ ⲈⲠⲈϤⲤⲞϨⲒ ⲀⲨⲈⲢϨⲎⲦⲤ ⲚⲒ ⲈⲂⲞⲖ ⲪⲞⲨⲀⲒ ⲪⲞⲨⲀⲒ ϢⲀⲦⲞⲨⲒ ⲈⲂⲞⲖ ⲚϪⲈⲚⲒⲠⲢⲈⲤⲂⲨⲦⲈⲢⲞⲤ ⲚⲈⲘ ⲠⲞⲨⲘⲎϢ ⲞⲨⲞϨ ⲀϤⲤⲰϪⲠ ⲚϪⲈⲒⲎⲤⲞⲨⲤ ⲘⲘⲀⲨⲀⲦϤ ⲚⲈⲘ ϮⲤϨⲒⲘⲒ ⲐⲎ ⲈⲚⲀⲤⲬⲎ ϦⲈⲚⲐⲘⲎϮ
When they heard that, they went out one by one, beginning with the eldest. And Jesus was left behind alone - and the woman in the middle of the court.
10 ⲓ̅ ⲀⲒⲎⲤⲞⲨⲤ ϤⲀⲒ ⲚⲦⲈϤⲀⲪⲈ ⲠⲈϪⲀϤ ⲚⲀⲤ ϪⲈ ⲰϮⲤϨⲒⲘⲒ ⲀⲨⲐⲰⲚ ⲚⲎ ⲈⲦⲀⲨϮϨⲀⲠ ⲈⲢⲞ ⲘⲘⲞⲚ ⲞⲨⲀⲒ ⲈϤϮϨⲀⲠ ⲈⲢⲞ
Then Jesus raised himself up and said to her. "Woman, where are they? Has no man condemn you,"
11 ⲓ̅ⲁ̅ ⲠⲈϪⲀⲤ ⲚⲀϤ ϪⲈ ϮⲚⲀⲨ ⲀⲚ ⲈⲞⲨⲀⲒ ⲠⲀϬⲞⲒⲤ ⲠⲈϪⲈ ⲒⲎⲤⲞⲨⲤ ⲚⲀⲤ ϪⲈ ⲞⲨⲆⲈ ⲀⲚⲞⲔ ⲈⲒϮϨⲀⲠ ⲈⲢⲞ ⲘⲀϢⲈ ⲚⲈⲒⲤϪⲈⲚ ϮⲚⲞⲨ ⲘⲠⲈⲢⲦⲀⲤⲐⲞ ⲈⲈⲢⲚⲞⲂⲒ ϪⲈ
"No one, Sir," she answered. "Neither do I condemned you," said Jesus. "Go, and never sin again."
12 ⲓ̅ⲃ̅ ⲠⲀⲖⲒⲚ ⲞⲚ ⲀϤⲤⲀϪⲒ ⲚⲈⲘⲰⲞⲨ ⲚϪⲈⲒⲎⲤⲞⲨⲤ ⲈϤϪⲰ ⲘⲘⲞⲤ ϪⲈ ⲀⲚⲞⲔ ⲠⲈ ⲪⲞⲨⲰⲒⲚⲒ ⲘⲠⲒⲔⲞⲤⲘⲞⲤ ⲪⲎ ⲈⲐⲚⲀⲘⲞϢⲒ ⲚⲤⲰⲒ ⲚⲚⲈϤⲘⲞϢⲒ ϦⲈⲚⲠⲒⲬⲀⲔⲒ ⲀⲖⲖⲀ ⲈϤⲈϬⲒ ⲘⲪⲞⲨⲰⲒⲚⲒ ⲚⲦⲈⲠⲰⲚϦ.
Once more Jesus addressed them. "I am the light of the world," he said; "He who follows me shall not walk in the darkness, but he shall have the Light of life."
13 ⲓ̅ⲅ̅ ⲠⲈϪⲈ ⲚⲒⲪⲀⲢⲒⲤⲈⲞⲤ ⲞⲨⲚ ⲚⲀϤ ϪⲈ ⲚⲐⲞⲔ ⲘⲘⲀⲨⲀⲦⲔ ⲈⲦⲈⲢⲘⲈⲐⲢⲈ ϦⲀⲢⲞⲔ ⲦⲈⲔⲘⲈⲦⲘⲈⲐⲢⲈ ⲞⲨⲘⲎⲒ ⲀⲚ ⲦⲈ.
Then said the Pharisees to him. "You are bearing testimony to yourself; your testimony is not true."
14 ⲓ̅ⲇ̅ ⲀϤⲈⲢⲞⲨⲰ ⲚϪⲈⲒⲎⲤⲞⲨⲤ ⲞⲨⲞϨ ⲠⲈϪⲀϤ ⲚⲰⲞⲨ ϪⲈ ⲔⲀⲚ ⲈϢⲰⲠ ⲀⲚⲞⲔ ⲀⲒϢⲀⲚⲈⲢⲘⲈⲐⲢⲈ ϦⲀⲢⲞⲒ ⲞⲨⲘⲎⲒ ⲦⲈ ⲦⲀⲘⲈⲦⲘⲈⲐⲢⲈ ϪⲈ ϮⲈⲘⲒ ϪⲈ ⲈⲦⲀⲒⲒ ⲈⲂⲞⲖ ⲐⲰⲚ ⲞⲨⲞϨ ⲀⲒⲚⲀϢⲈ ⲚⲎⲒ ⲈⲐⲰⲚ ⲚⲐⲰⲦⲈⲚ ⲆⲈ ⲦⲈⲦⲈⲚⲈⲘⲒ ⲀⲚ ϪⲈ ⲈⲦⲀⲒⲒ ⲈⲂⲞⲖ ⲐⲰⲚ ⲒⲈ ⲀⲒⲚⲀϢⲈ ⲚⲎⲒ ⲈⲐⲰⲚ.
In reply Jesus said to them. "Even if I do bear testimony to concerning myself, my testimony is true, because I know where I have come from and where I am going. But you do not know where I have come from, or where I am going.
15 ⲓ̅ⲉ̅ ⲚⲐⲰⲦⲈⲚ ⲀⲢⲈⲦⲈⲚϮϨⲀⲠ ⲔⲀⲦⲀ ⲤⲀⲢⲜ ⲀⲚⲞⲔ ⲆⲈ ϮϮϨⲀⲠ ⲈϨⲖⲒ ⲀⲚ.
"For you are judging according to the flesh. I am judging no man.
16 ⲓ̅ⲋ̅ ⲞⲨⲞϨ ⲈϢⲰⲠ ⲀⲚⲞⲔ ⲀⲒϢⲀⲚϮϨⲀⲠ ⲠⲀϨⲀⲠ ⲀⲚⲞⲔ ⲞⲨⲘⲎⲒ ⲠⲈ ϪⲈ ⲚϮⲬⲎ ⲘⲘⲀⲨⲀⲦ ⲀⲚ ⲀⲖⲖⲀ ⲀⲚⲞⲔ ⲚⲈⲘ ⲪⲎ ⲈⲦⲀϤⲦⲀⲞⲨⲞⲒ ⲪⲒⲰⲦ.
"Though even if I do judge, my judgment is trustworthy, because I am not alone, but the Father who sent me is with me.
17 ⲓ̅ⲍ̅ ⲞⲨⲞϨ ⲤⲤϦⲎⲞⲨⲦ ⲆⲈ ⲞⲚ ϦⲈⲚⲠⲈⲦⲈⲚⲚⲞⲘⲞⲤ ϪⲈ ⲐⲘⲈⲦⲘⲈⲐⲢⲈ ⲚⲢⲰⲘⲒ ⲂⲞⲨⲐⲘⲎⲒ ⲦⲈ.
"And in your Law it is written that the testimony of two men is true.
18 ⲓ̅ⲏ̅ ⲀⲚⲞⲔ ϮⲈⲢⲘⲈⲐⲢⲈ ϦⲀⲢⲞⲒ ⲞⲨⲞϨ ϤⲈⲢⲘⲈⲐⲢⲈ ϦⲀⲢⲞⲒ ⲚϪⲈⲪⲒⲰⲦ ⲈⲦⲀϤⲦⲀⲞⲨⲞⲒ.
"I am one who gives testimony concerning myself, and the Father who sent me gives testimony concerning me."
19 ⲓ̅ⲑ̅ ⲚⲀⲨϪⲰ ⲞⲨⲚ ⲘⲘⲞⲤ ⲠⲈ ϪⲈ ⲀϤⲐⲰⲚ ⲠⲈⲔⲒⲰⲦ ⲀϤⲈⲢⲞⲨⲰ ⲚϪⲈⲒⲎⲤⲞⲨⲤ ϪⲈ ⲞⲨⲆⲈ ⲀⲚⲞⲔ ⲚⲦⲈⲦⲈⲚⲤⲰⲞⲨⲚ ⲘⲘⲞⲒ ⲀⲚ ⲞⲨⲆⲈ ⲠⲀⲔⲈⲒⲰⲦ ⲈⲚⲀⲢⲈⲦⲈⲚⲤⲰⲞⲨⲚ ⲘⲘⲞⲒ ⲚⲀⲢⲈⲦⲈⲚⲚⲀⲤⲞⲨⲈⲚ ⲠⲀⲔⲈⲒⲰⲦ.
"Where is your Father?" they asked him. "You have neither known me nor my Father," answered Jesus. "If you had known me, you would have known my father also."
20 ⲕ̅ ⲚⲀⲒⲤⲀϪⲒ ⲀϤϪⲞⲦⲞⲨ ϦⲈⲚⲠⲒⲄⲀⲌⲞⲪⲨⲖⲀⲔⲒⲞⲚ ⲈϤϮⲤⲂⲰ ϦⲈⲚⲠⲒⲈⲢⲪⲈⲒ ⲞⲨⲞϨ ⲘⲠⲈ ϨⲖⲒ ϢⲀⲘⲞⲚⲒ ⲘⲘⲞϤ ϪⲈ ⲚⲈⲘⲠⲀⲦⲈⲤⲒ ⲚϪⲈⲦⲈϤⲞⲨⲚⲞⲨ.
He said these words in the Treasury, while he was teaching in the Temple; yet no one arrested him, because his hour was not yet come.
21 ⲕ̅ⲁ̅ ⲠⲀⲖⲒⲚ ⲞⲚ ⲠⲈϪⲈ ⲒⲎⲤⲞⲨⲤ ⲚⲰⲞⲨ ϪⲈ ⲀⲚⲞⲔ ϮⲚⲀϢⲈ ⲚⲎⲒ ⲞⲨⲞϨ ⲦⲈⲦⲈⲚⲚⲀⲔⲰϮ ⲚⲤⲰⲒ ⲞⲨⲞϨ ⲦⲈⲦⲈⲚⲚⲀϪⲈⲘⲦ ⲀⲚ ⲞⲨⲞϨ ⲦⲈⲦⲈⲚⲚⲀⲘⲞⲨ ϦⲈⲚⲚⲈⲦⲈⲚⲚⲞⲂⲒ ⲞⲨⲞϨ ⲠⲒⲘⲀ ⲀⲚⲞⲔ ⲈϮⲚⲀϢⲈ ⲚⲎⲒ ⲈⲢⲞϤ ⲘⲘⲞⲚ ϢϪⲞⲘ ⲘⲘⲰⲦⲈⲚ ⲈⲒ ⲈⲢⲞϤ.
Then again he said them. "I am going away, and you will seek me, and you will die in your sins. Where I am going, you cannot come."
22 ⲕ̅ⲃ̅ ⲚⲀⲨϪⲰ ⲞⲨⲚ ⲘⲘⲞⲤ ⲠⲈ ⲚϪⲈⲚⲒⲒⲞⲨⲆⲀⲒ ϪⲈ ⲘⲎ ⲀϤⲚⲀϦⲞⲐⲂⲈϤ ⲘⲘⲀⲨⲀⲦϤ ϪⲈ ϤϪⲰ ⲘⲘⲞⲤ ϪⲈ ⲠⲒⲘⲀ ⲀⲚⲞⲔ ⲈϮⲚⲀϢⲈ ⲚⲎⲒ ⲈⲢⲞϤ ⲚⲐⲰⲦⲈⲚ ⲦⲈⲦⲈⲚⲚⲀϢⲒ ⲈⲢⲞϤ ⲀⲚ.
Then the Jews said. "He will not kill himself, will he? Is that why he says, ‘Where I am going you cannot come’?"
23 ⲕ̅ⲅ̅ ⲞⲨⲞϨ ⲚⲀϤϪⲰ ⲘⲘⲞⲤ ⲚⲰⲞⲨ ⲠⲈ ϪⲈ ⲚⲐⲰⲦⲈⲚ ⲚⲐⲰⲦⲈⲚ ⲈⲂⲞⲖ ϦⲈⲚⲚⲈⲦⲈⲚϦⲢⲎⲒ ⲀⲚⲞⲔ ⲆⲈ ⲀⲚⲞⲔ ⲞⲨⲈⲂⲞⲖ ⲘⲠϢⲰⲒ ⲚⲐⲰⲦⲈⲚ ⲚⲐⲰⲦⲈⲚ ⲈⲂⲞⲖ ϦⲈⲚⲠⲒⲔⲞⲤⲘⲞⲤ ⲀⲚⲞⲔ ⲆⲈ ⲀⲚⲞⲔ ⲞⲨⲈⲂⲞⲖ ϦⲈⲚⲠⲀⲒⲔⲞⲤⲘⲞⲤ ⲀⲚ.
And he said to them. "You are from below. I am from above; you are of this world, I am not of this world.
24 ⲕ̅ⲇ̅ ⲀⲒϪⲞⲤ ⲞⲨⲚ ⲚⲰⲦⲈⲚ ϪⲈ ⲦⲈⲦⲈⲚⲚⲀⲘⲞⲨ ϦⲈⲚⲚⲈⲦⲈⲚⲚⲞⲂⲒ ⲈϢⲰⲠ ⲄⲀⲢ ⲀⲢⲈⲦⲈⲚϢⲦⲈⲘⲚⲀϨϮ ϪⲈ ⲀⲚⲞⲔ ⲠⲈ ⲦⲈⲦⲈⲚⲚⲀⲘⲞⲨ ⲚϦⲢⲎⲒ ϦⲈⲚⲚⲈⲦⲈⲚⲚⲞⲂⲒ.
"That is why I said that you would die in your sins. For if you do not believe that I am He, you will die in your sins."
25 ⲕ̅ⲉ̅ ⲚⲀⲨϪⲰ ⲞⲨⲚ ⲘⲘⲞⲤ ⲚⲀϤ ⲠⲈ ϪⲈ ⲚⲐⲞⲔ ⲚⲒⲘ ⲠⲈϪⲈ ⲒⲎⲤⲞⲨⲤ ⲚⲰⲞⲨ ϪⲈ ⲚϮⲀⲢⲬⲎ ⲀⲒⲈⲢ ⲠⲔⲈⲤⲀϪⲒ ⲚⲈⲘⲰⲦⲈⲚ
"Who are you?" then they asked him. "What I am telling you from the beginning," Jesus answered.
26 ⲕ̅ⲋ̅ ⲞⲨⲞⲚϮ ⲞⲨⲘⲎϢ ⲈϪⲞⲦⲞⲨ ⲈⲐⲂⲈ ⲐⲎⲚⲞⲨ ⲞⲨⲞϨ ⲈϮϨⲀⲠ ⲀⲖⲖⲀ ⲪⲎ ⲈⲦⲀϤⲦⲀⲞⲨⲞⲒ ⲞⲨⲐⲘⲎⲒ ⲠⲈ ⲞⲨⲞϨ ⲀⲚⲞⲔ ϨⲰ ⲚⲎ ⲈⲦⲀⲒⲤⲞⲐⲘⲞⲨ ⲚⲦⲞⲦϤ ⲚⲀⲒ ϮⲤⲀϪⲒ ⲘⲘⲰⲞⲨ ϦⲈⲚⲠⲒⲔⲞⲤⲘⲞⲤ.
"I have many things to say and to judge concerning you. But he who sent me is true, and I speak to the world only those things which I have heard from him."
27 ⲕ̅ⲍ̅ ⲘⲠⲞⲨⲈⲘⲒ ϪⲈ ⲚⲀϤⲤⲀϪⲒ ⲚⲈⲘⲰⲞⲨ ⲈⲐⲂⲈ ⲪⲒⲰⲦ.
They did not understand that he meant the Father,
28 ⲕ̅ⲏ̅ ⲠⲈϪⲈ ⲒⲎⲤⲞⲨⲤ ⲚⲰⲞⲨ ϪⲈ ⲈϢⲰⲠ ⲀⲢⲈⲦⲈⲚϢⲀⲚϬ ⲈⲤ ⲠϢⲎⲢⲒ ⲘⲪⲢⲰⲘⲒ ⲦⲞⲦⲈ ⲈⲢⲈⲦⲈⲚⲈⲘⲒ ϪⲈ ⲀⲚⲞⲔ ⲠⲈ ⲞⲨⲞϨ ϮⲈⲢ ϨⲖⲒ ⲀⲚ ⲈⲂⲞⲖ ϨⲒⲦⲞⲦ ⲘⲘⲀⲨⲀⲦ ⲀⲖⲖⲀ ⲔⲀⲦⲀ ⲪⲢⲎϮ ⲈⲦⲀϤⲦⲤⲀⲂⲞⲒ ⲚϪⲈⲠⲀⲒⲰⲦ ⲚⲀⲒ ϮⲤⲀϪⲒ ⲘⲘⲰⲞⲨ.
so Jesus added. "When you lifted up the Son of man, then you will know that I am He; and that I do nothing on my own authority, but that I speak just as the Father has taught me,
29 ⲕ̅ⲑ̅ ⲞⲨⲞϨ ⲪⲎ ⲈⲦⲀϤⲦⲀⲞⲨⲞⲒ ϤⲬⲎ ⲚⲈⲘⲎⲒ ⲞⲨⲞϨ ⲘⲠⲈϤⲬⲀⲦ ⲘⲘⲀⲨⲀⲦ ϪⲈ ⲀⲚⲞⲔ ϮⲒⲢⲒ ⲚⲚⲎ ⲈⲐⲢⲀⲚⲀϤ ⲚⲤⲎⲞⲨ ⲚⲒⲂⲈⲚ.
"and he who sent me is with me. He has not left me alone, for I do always the things that please him."
30 ⲗ̅ ⲚⲀⲒ ⲈϤϪⲰ ⲘⲘⲰⲞⲨ ϨⲀⲚⲘⲎϢ ⲀⲨⲚⲀϨϮ ⲈⲢⲞϤ.
When he spoke in this way, many of the Jews believed in him.
31 ⲗ̅ⲁ̅ ⲚⲀϤϪⲰ ⲞⲨⲚ ⲘⲘⲞⲤ ⲠⲈ ⲚϪⲈⲒⲎⲤⲞⲨⲤ ⲚⲚⲒⲒⲞⲨⲆⲀⲒ ⲈⲦⲀⲨⲚⲀϨϮ ⲈⲢⲞϤ ϪⲈ ⲈϢⲰⲠ ⲚⲐⲰⲦⲈⲚ ⲀⲢⲈⲦⲈⲚϢⲀⲚⲞϨⲒ ϦⲈⲚⲠⲀⲤⲀϪⲒ ⲦⲀⲪⲘⲎⲒ ⲚⲐⲰⲦⲈⲚ ⲚⲀⲘⲀⲐⲎⲦⲎⲤ
So Jesus spoke to the Jews that believed him, saying. "If you abide in my teaching, you are my true disciples;
32 ⲗ̅ⲃ̅ ⲞⲨⲞϨ ⲈⲢⲈⲦⲈⲚⲈⲤⲞⲨⲈⲚ ⲐⲘⲎⲒ ⲞⲨⲞϨ ⲈⲢⲈ ⲐⲘⲎⲒ ⲈⲢ ⲐⲎⲚⲞⲨ ⲚⲢⲈⲘϨⲈ.

33 ⲗ̅ⲅ̅ ⲀⲨⲈⲢⲞⲨⲰ ⲈⲨϪⲰ ⲘⲘⲞⲤ ⲚⲀϤ ϪⲈ ⲀⲚⲞⲚ ⲚⲀ ⲠⲤⲠⲈⲢⲘⲀ ⲚⲀⲂⲢⲀⲀⲘ ⲞⲨⲞϨ ⲘⲠⲈⲚⲈⲢⲂⲰⲔ ⲚϨⲖⲒ ⲈⲚⲈϨ ⲠⲰⲤ ⲚⲐⲞⲔ ⲔϪⲰ ⲘⲘⲞⲤ ϪⲈ ⲈⲢⲈⲦⲈⲚⲈⲢⲢⲈⲘϨⲈ.
"We are descendants of Abraham," they replied, "and have never been in slavery to any man. What do you mean by saying, ‘You shall become free’?"
34 ⲗ̅ⲇ̅ ⲀϤⲈⲢⲞⲨⲰ ⲚⲰⲞⲨ ⲚϪⲈⲒⲎⲤⲞⲨⲤ ϪⲈ ⲀⲘⲎⲚ ⲀⲘⲎⲚ ϮϪⲰ ⲘⲘⲞⲤ ⲚⲰⲦⲈⲚ ϪⲈ ⲞⲨⲞⲚ ⲚⲒⲂⲈⲚ ⲈⲦⲒⲢⲒ ⲘⲪⲚⲞⲂⲒ ⲞⲨⲂⲰⲔ ⲚⲦⲈⲪⲚⲞⲂⲒ ⲠⲈ.
"In solemn truth I tell you," Jesus replied, "every one who commits sin is a slave

"Now the slave does not remain permanently in the household, but the son does remain. (aiōn )

"So then, if the Son shall set you free, you will be free indeed.
37 ⲗ̅ⲍ̅ ϮⲈⲘⲒ ϪⲈ ⲚⲐⲰⲦⲈⲚ ⲚⲀ ⲠϪⲢⲞϪ ⲚⲀⲂⲢⲀⲀⲘ ⲀⲖⲖⲀ ⲦⲈⲦⲈⲚⲔⲰϮ ⲚⲤⲰⲒ ⲈϦⲞⲐⲂⲎⲦ ϪⲈ ⲠⲀⲤⲀϪⲒ ϢⲞⲠ ϦⲈⲚⲐⲎⲚⲞⲨ ⲀⲚ.
"I know you are Abraham’s descendants; but you are seeking to kill me, Because my teaching has no place in you.
38 ⲗ̅ⲏ̅ ⲚⲎ ⲞⲨⲚ ⲀⲚⲞⲔ ⲈⲦⲀⲒⲚⲀⲨ ⲈⲢⲰⲞⲨ ⲚⲦⲞⲦϤ ⲘⲠⲀⲒⲰⲦ ⲚⲀⲒ ϮⲤⲀϪⲒ ⲘⲘⲰⲞⲨ ⲞⲨⲞϨ ⲚⲐⲰⲦⲈⲚ ⲚⲎ ⲈⲦⲀⲢⲈⲦⲈⲚⲤⲞⲐⲘⲞⲨ ⲚⲦⲞⲦϤ ⲘⲠⲈⲦⲈⲚⲒⲰⲦ ⲦⲈⲦⲈⲚⲒⲢⲒ ⲘⲘⲰⲞⲨ.
"I am declaring what I have seen with the Father, and you are acting as you have learned from your father."
39 ⲗ̅ⲑ̅ ⲀⲨⲈⲢⲞⲨⲰ ⲠⲈϪⲰⲞⲨ ⲚⲀϤ ϪⲈ ⲠⲈⲚⲒⲰⲦ ⲀⲂⲢⲀⲀⲘ ⲠⲈϪⲈ ⲒⲎⲤⲞⲨⲤ ⲚⲰⲞⲨ ϪⲈ ⲈⲚⲈ ⲚⲐⲰⲦⲈⲚ ⲚⲈⲚϢⲎⲢⲒ ⲚⲀⲂⲢⲀⲀⲘ ⲠⲈ ⲚⲒϨⲂⲎⲞⲨⲒ ⲚⲦⲈⲀⲂⲢⲀⲀⲘ ⲚⲀⲢⲈⲦⲈⲚⲚⲀⲀⲒⲦⲞⲨ.
"Abraham is our father," they answered. "If you are indeed Abraham’s children," said Jesus "do the deeds of Abraham.
40 ⲙ̅ ϮⲚⲞⲨ ⲆⲈ ⲦⲈⲦⲈⲚⲔⲰϮ ⲚⲤⲰⲒ ⲈϦⲞⲐⲂⲎ ⲦⲞⲨⲢⲰⲘⲒ ⲈϤϪⲰ ⲚⲐⲘⲎⲒ ⲚⲰⲦⲈⲚ ⲐⲎ ⲈⲦⲀⲒⲤⲞⲐⲘⲈⲤ ⲚⲦⲞⲦϤ ⲘⲪⲚⲞⲨϮ ⲪⲀⲒ ⲘⲠⲈ ⲀⲂⲢⲀⲀⲘ ⲀⲒϤ.
"But now you are seeking to kill me - a man who has told you the truth which I heard from God. Abraham did not do that.
41 ⲙ̅ⲁ̅ ⲚⲐⲰⲦⲈⲚ ⲦⲈⲦⲈⲚⲒⲢⲒ ⲚⲚⲒϨⲂⲎⲞⲨⲒ ⲚⲦⲈⲠⲈⲦⲈⲚⲒⲰⲦ ⲠⲈϪⲰⲞⲨ ⲚⲀϤ ϪⲈ ⲀⲚⲞⲚ ϨⲀⲚϪⲪⲞ ⲀⲚ ⲈⲂⲞⲖ ϦⲈⲚⲦⲠⲞⲢⲚⲒⲀ ⲞⲨⲒⲰⲦ ⲘⲘⲀⲨⲀⲦϤ ⲈⲦⲈⲚⲦⲀⲚ ⲪⲚⲞⲨϮ.
"You are doing the deeds of your father." "We were not born of adultery," they said; "we have one Father, God."
42 ⲙ̅ⲃ̅ ⲠⲈϪⲀϤ ⲚⲰⲞⲨ ⲚϪⲈⲒⲎⲤⲞⲨⲤ ϪⲈ ⲈⲚⲈ ⲪⲚⲞⲨϮ ⲠⲈⲦⲈⲚⲒⲰⲦ ⲠⲈ ⲚⲀⲢⲈⲦⲈⲚⲚⲀⲘⲈⲚⲢⲒⲦ ⲠⲈ ⲀⲚⲞⲔ ⲄⲀⲢ ⲈⲦⲀⲒⲒ ⲈⲂⲞⲖ ϦⲈⲚⲪⲚⲞⲨϮ ⲞⲨⲞϨ ⲀⲒⲒ ⲞⲨ ⲄⲀⲢ ⲚⲈⲦⲀⲒⲒ ⲀⲚ ⲈⲂⲞⲖ ϨⲒⲦⲞⲦ ⲘⲘⲀⲨⲀⲦ ⲀⲖⲖⲀ ⲚⲐⲞϤ ⲠⲈⲦⲀϤⲦⲀⲞⲨⲞⲒ.
Jesus said to them. "If God were your Father, you would love me, for I proceeded forth and am now come from God. I did not come on my own authority, but God himself sent me.
43 ⲙ̅ⲅ̅ ⲈⲐⲂⲈⲞⲨ ⲦⲀϪⲒⲚⲤⲀϪⲒ ⲦⲈⲦⲈⲚⲤⲰⲞⲨⲚ ⲘⲘⲞⲤ ⲀⲚ ϪⲈ ⲘⲘⲞⲚ ϢϪⲞⲘ ⲘⲘⲰⲦⲈⲚ ⲈⲤⲰⲦⲈⲘ ⲈⲠⲀⲤⲀϪⲒ.
"How is it that you do not understand what I say? It is because you cannot listen to my message.
44 ⲙ̅ⲇ̅ ⲚⲐⲰⲦⲈⲚ ⲚⲐⲰⲦⲈⲚ ⲈⲂⲞⲖ ϦⲈⲚⲠⲈⲦⲈⲚⲒⲰⲦ ⲠⲒⲆⲒⲀⲂⲞⲖⲞⲤ ⲞⲨⲞϨ ⲚⲒⲈⲠⲒⲐⲨⲘⲒⲀ ⲚⲦⲈⲠⲈⲦⲈⲚⲒⲰⲦ ⲦⲈⲦⲈⲚⲞⲨⲰϢ ⲈⲀⲒⲦⲞⲨ ⲪⲎ ⲈⲦⲈⲘⲘⲀⲨ ⲚⲈⲞⲨⲢⲈϤϦⲀⲦⲈⲂ ⲢⲰⲘⲒ ⲠⲈ ⲒⲤϪⲈⲚ ϨⲎ ⲞⲨⲞϨ ⲘⲠⲈϤⲞϨⲒ ⲈⲢⲀⲦϤ ϦⲈⲚⲐⲘⲎⲒ ⲈⲚⲈϨ ϪⲈ ⲘⲘⲞⲚ ⲘⲈⲐⲘⲎⲒ ϢⲞⲠ ⲚϦⲎⲦϤ ⲈϢⲰⲠ ⲀϤϢⲀⲚⲤⲀϪⲒ ⲚϪⲈⲠⲒⲘⲈⲐⲚⲞⲨϪ ϢⲀϤⲤⲀϪⲒ ⲈⲂⲞⲖ ϦⲈⲚⲚⲈⲦⲈⲚⲞⲨϤ ϪⲈ ⲞⲨⲤⲀⲘⲈⲐⲚⲞⲨϪ ⲠⲈ ⲚⲈⲘ ⲠⲈϤⲔⲈⲒⲰⲦ.
"You are of your father, the devil, and you want to do what your father desires. He was a man-slayer from the very beginning; and he has no standing place in the truth, because truth is not in him. Whenever he utters a lie, he speaks from his nature, for he is a liar and the father of lying.
45 ⲙ̅ⲉ̅ ⲀⲚⲞⲔ ⲆⲈ ϮϪⲰ ⲚⲐⲘⲎⲒ ⲚⲰⲦⲈⲚ ⲦⲈⲦⲈⲚⲚⲀϨϮ ⲈⲢⲞⲒ ⲀⲚ.
"But as for me, it is because I speak the truth to you that you do not believe me.
46 ⲙ̅ⲋ̅ ⲚⲒⲘ ⲈⲂⲞⲖ ϦⲈⲚⲐⲎⲚⲞⲨ ⲈⲐⲚⲀⲤⲞϨⲒ ⲘⲘⲞⲒ ⲈⲐⲂⲈ ⲞⲨⲚⲞⲂⲒ ⲒⲤϪⲈ ⲐⲘⲎⲒ ⲦⲈϮϪⲰ ⲘⲘⲞⲤ ⲚⲰⲦⲈⲚ ⲒⲈ ⲈⲐⲂⲈⲞⲨ ⲚⲐⲰⲦⲈⲚ ⲦⲈⲦⲈⲚⲚⲀϨϮ ⲈⲢⲞⲒ ⲀⲚ.
"Which one of you convicts me of sin? Why then, if I am speaking the truth, do you not believe me?
47 ⲙ̅ⲍ̅ ⲠⲒⲈⲂⲞⲖ ⲘⲪⲚⲞⲨϮ ⲚⲒⲤⲀϪⲒ ⲚⲦⲈⲪⲚⲞⲨϮ ϢⲀϤⲤⲰⲦⲈⲘ ⲈⲢⲰⲞⲨ ⲈⲐⲂⲈⲪⲀⲒ ⲚⲐⲰⲦⲈⲚ ⲦⲈⲦⲈⲚⲤⲰⲦⲈⲘ ⲀⲚ ϪⲈ ⲚⲐⲰⲦⲈⲚ ⲈⲂⲞⲖ ⲘⲪⲚⲞⲨϮ ⲀⲚ.
"He who is from God listens to God’s words. For this reason you do not listen, because you are not from God."
48 ⲙ̅ⲏ̅ ⲀⲨⲈⲢⲞⲨⲰ ⲚϪⲈⲚⲒⲒⲞⲨⲆⲀⲒ ⲞⲨⲞϨ ⲠⲈϪⲰⲞⲨ ⲚⲀϤ ϪⲈ ⲔⲀⲖⲰⲤ ⲀⲚⲞⲚ ⲀⲚϪⲞⲤ ϪⲈ ⲚⲐⲞⲔ ⲞⲨⲤⲀⲘⲀⲢⲒⲦⲎⲤ ⲞⲨⲞϨ ⲞⲨⲞⲚ ⲞⲨⲆⲈⲘⲰⲚ ⲚⲈⲘⲀⲔ.
In reply the Jews said to him, "Are we not right in saying that you are a Samaritan, and you also have a demon?"
49 ⲙ̅ⲑ̅ ⲀϤⲈⲢⲞⲨⲰ ⲚϪⲈⲒⲎⲤⲞⲨⲤ ⲞⲨⲞϨ ⲠⲈϪⲀϤ ϪⲈ ⲀⲚⲞⲔ ⲘⲘⲞⲚ ⲆⲈⲘⲰⲚ ⲚⲈⲘⲎⲒ ⲀⲖⲖⲀ ϮⲈⲢⲦⲒⲘⲀⲚ ⲘⲠⲀⲒⲰⲦ ⲞⲨⲞϨ ⲚⲐⲰⲦⲈⲚ ⲦⲈⲦⲈⲚϢⲰϢ ⲘⲘⲞⲒ.
"I do not have a demon," said Jesus, "but I am honoring my Father, and you are dishonoring me.
50 ⲛ̅ ⲀⲚⲞⲔ ⲆⲈ ⲚⲀⲒⲔⲰϮ ⲚⲤⲀⲠⲀⲰⲞⲨ ⲘⲘⲀⲨⲀⲦ ⲀⲚ ϤϢⲞⲠ ⲚϪⲈⲪⲎ ⲈⲦⲔⲰϮ ⲞⲨⲞϨ ⲈⲦϮϨⲀⲠ.
"Yet I am not seeking my own honor. There is One who is seeking it, and He is judge.
51 ⲛ̅ⲁ̅ ⲀⲘⲎⲚ ⲀⲘⲎⲚ ϮϪⲰ ⲘⲘⲞⲤ ⲚⲰⲦⲈⲚ ϪⲈ ⲈϢⲰⲠ ⲀⲢⲈϢⲀⲚ ⲞⲨⲀⲒ ⲀⲢⲈϨ ⲈⲠⲀⲤⲀϪⲒ ⲚⲚⲈϤⲚⲀⲨ ⲈⲪⲘⲞⲨ ϢⲀ ⲈⲚⲈϨ. (aiōn )
"In solemn truth I tell you that if any one obeys my teaching he shall never behold death." (aiōn )
52 ⲛ̅ⲃ̅ ⲠⲈϪⲈ ⲚⲒⲒⲞⲨⲆⲀⲒ ϪⲈ ϮⲚⲞⲨ ⲀⲚⲈⲘⲒ ϪⲈ ⲞⲨⲞⲚ ⲞⲨⲆⲈⲘⲰⲚ ⲚⲈⲘⲀⲔ ⲀⲂⲢⲀⲀⲘ ⲀϤⲘⲞⲨ ⲚⲈⲘ ⲚⲒⲔⲈⲠⲢⲞⲪⲎⲦⲎⲤ ⲞⲨⲞϨ ⲚⲐⲞⲔ ⲔϪⲰ ⲘⲘⲞⲤ ϪⲈ ⲪⲎ ⲈⲐⲚⲀⲀⲢⲈϨ ⲈⲠⲀⲤⲀϪⲒ ⲚⲚⲈϤϪⲈⲘϮⲠⲒ ⲘⲪⲘⲞⲨ ϢⲀ ⲈⲚⲈϨ. (aiōn )
"Now we know that you have a demon," exclaimed the Jews. Abraham died, and so did the prophets; and yet you say, ‘If any man obeys my teaching he shall never taste death.’ (aiōn )
53 ⲛ̅ⲅ̅ ⲘⲎ ⲚⲐⲞⲔ ⲞⲨⲚⲒϢϮ ⲚⲐⲞⲔ ⲈⲠⲈⲚⲒⲰⲦ ⲀⲂⲢⲀⲀⲘ ⲪⲎ ⲈⲦⲀϤⲘⲞⲨ ⲞⲨⲞϨ ⲚⲒⲔⲈⲠⲢⲞⲪⲎ ⲦⲎⲤ ⲀⲨⲘⲞⲨ ⲀⲔⲒⲢⲒ ⲘⲘⲞⲔ ⲚⲚⲒⲘ.
"You are not greater than our father Abraham, are you? And he died, and the prophets died. Who are you making yourself out to be?"
54 ⲛ̅ⲇ̅ ⲀϤⲈⲢⲞⲨⲰ ⲚϪⲈⲒⲎⲤⲞⲨⲤ ⲈϤϪⲰ ⲘⲘⲞⲤ ϪⲈ ⲈϢⲰⲠ ⲀⲚⲞⲔ ⲀⲒϢⲀⲚϮⲰⲞⲨ ⲚⲎⲒ ⲘⲘⲀⲨⲀⲦ ⲠⲀⲰⲞⲨ ϨⲖⲒ ⲠⲈ ϤϢⲞⲠ ⲚϪⲈⲠⲀⲒⲰⲦ ⲈⲐⲚⲀϮⲰⲞⲨ ⲚⲎⲒ ⲪⲎ ⲚⲐⲰⲦⲈⲚ ⲈⲦⲈⲚϪⲰ ⲘⲘⲞⲤ ϪⲈ ⲠⲈⲚⲚⲞⲨϮ ⲠⲈ
"If I glorify myself." said Jesus, "my glory is nothing. It is my Father that glorifies me, and you say, ‘He is our God.’
55 ⲛ̅ⲉ̅ ⲞⲨⲞϨ ⲘⲠⲈⲦⲈⲚⲤⲞⲨⲰⲚϤ ⲀⲚⲞⲔ ⲆⲈ ϮⲤⲰⲞⲨⲚ ⲘⲘⲞϤ ⲞⲨⲞϨ ⲈϢⲰⲠ ⲀⲒϢⲀⲚϪⲞⲤ ϪⲈ ϮⲤⲰⲞⲨⲚ ⲘⲘⲞϤ ⲀⲚ ⲈⲒⲈϢⲰⲠⲒ ⲈⲒⲞⲚⲒ ⲘⲘⲰⲦⲈⲚ ⲚⲤⲀⲘⲈⲐⲚⲞⲨϪ ⲀⲖⲖⲀ ϮⲤⲰⲞⲨⲚ ⲘⲘⲞϤ ⲞⲨⲞϨ ⲠⲈϤⲤⲀϪⲒ ϮⲀⲢⲈϨ ⲈⲢⲞϤ.
"You are not acquainted with him; I know him. Were I to say, ‘I do not know him,’ I should be like you, a liar. But I do know him, and I obey his teaching.
56 ⲛ̅ⲋ̅ ⲀⲂⲢⲀⲀⲘ ⲠⲈⲦⲈⲚⲒⲰⲦ ⲚⲀϤⲐⲈⲖⲎⲖ ⲠⲈ ⲈϤⲞⲨⲰϢ ⲈⲚⲀⲨ ⲈⲞⲨⲈϨⲞⲞⲨ ⲚⲦⲎⲒ ⲞⲨⲞϨ ⲀϤⲚⲀⲨ ⲀϤⲢⲀϢⲒ.
"Your father Abraham rejoiced that he should see my day; and he saw it and was glad."
57 ⲛ̅ⲍ̅ ⲠⲈϪⲈ ⲚⲒⲒⲞⲨⲆⲀⲒ ⲚⲀϤ ϪⲈ ⲘⲠⲀⲦⲈⲔⲈⲢ ⲚⲚⲢⲞⲘⲠⲒ ⲞⲨⲞϨ ⲀⲔⲚⲀⲨ ⲈⲀⲂⲢⲀⲀⲘ.
"You are not yet fifty years old," said the Jews to him, "and you have seen Abraham?"
58 ⲛ̅ⲏ̅ ⲠⲈϪⲈ ⲒⲎⲤⲞⲨⲤ ⲚⲰⲞⲨ ϪⲈ ⲀⲘⲎⲚ ⲀⲘⲎⲚ ϮϪⲰ ⲘⲘⲞⲤ ⲚⲰⲦⲈⲚ ϪⲈ ⲘⲠⲀⲦⲈ ⲀⲂⲢⲀⲀⲘ ϢⲰⲠⲒ ⲀⲚⲞⲔ ⲠⲈ.
"In solemn truth I tell you," answered Jesus, "that before Abraham came into existence, I am."
59 ⲛ̅ⲑ̅ ⲀⲨⲈⲖ ⲰⲚⲒ ⲞⲨⲚ ϨⲒⲚⲀ ⲚⲤⲈϨⲒⲞⲨⲒ ⲈϪⲰϤ ⲒⲎⲤⲞⲨⲤ ⲆⲈ ⲀϤⲬⲞⲠϤ ⲀϤⲒ ⲈⲂⲞⲖ ϦⲈⲚⲠⲒⲈⲢⲪⲈⲒ ⲞⲨⲞϨ ⲀϤⲤⲒⲚⲒ ⲚⲀϤⲘⲞϢⲒ ϦⲈⲚⲦⲞⲨⲘⲎϮ ⲞⲨⲞϨ ⲚⲀϤⲤⲒⲚⲒⲰⲞⲨ.
Then they picked up stones to throw at him, but Jesus hid himself and went out of the Temple.
