1 ⲁ̅ ⲒⲀⲔⲰⲂⲞⲤ ⲪⲂⲰⲔ ⲘⲪⲚⲞⲨϮ ⲚⲈⲘ ⲠⲈⲚϬⲞⲒⲤ ⲒⲎⲤⲞⲨⲤ ⲠⲬⲢⲒⲤⲦⲞⲤ ⲚϮⲒⲂ ⲘⲪⲨⲖⲎ ⲈⲦⲬⲎ ϦⲈⲚⲠⲒϪⲰⲢ ⲈⲂⲞⲖ ⲬⲈⲢⲈ
James, a servant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ, to the twelve tribes who are scattered abroad, greeting.
2 ⲃ̅ ϢⲰⲠⲒ ϦⲈⲚⲢⲀϢⲒ ⲚⲒⲂⲈⲚ ⲚⲀⲤⲚⲎⲞⲨ ⲈϢⲰⲠ ⲀⲢⲈⲦⲈⲚϢⲀⲚⲢⲀⲞⲨⲞ ⲈϨⲀⲚⲠⲒⲢⲀⲤⲘⲞⲤ ⲚⲞⲨⲐⲞ ⲚⲢⲎϮ
My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into various temptations;
3 ⲅ̅ ⲈⲢⲈⲦⲈⲚⲈⲘⲒ ϪⲈ ϮⲆⲞⲔⲒⲘⲎ ⲚⲦⲈⲠⲈⲦⲈⲚⲚⲀϨϮ ⲀⲤⲈⲢϨⲰⲂ ⲈⲞⲨϨⲨⲠⲞⲘⲞⲚⲎ.
Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience.
4 ⲇ̅ ϮϨⲨⲠⲞⲘⲞⲚⲎ ⲆⲈ ⲘⲀⲢⲈ ⲞⲨϨⲰⲂ ⲈϤϪⲎⲔ ⲈⲂⲞⲖ ϢⲰⲠⲒ ⲚϦⲎⲦⲤ ϨⲒⲚⲀ ⲚⲦⲈⲦⲈⲚϢⲰⲠⲒ ⲈⲢⲈⲦⲈⲚϪⲎⲔ ⲈⲂⲞⲖ ⲞⲨⲞϨ ⲈⲢⲈⲦⲈⲚⲞⲨⲞϪ ⲚⲦⲈⲦⲈⲚϪⲞⲢϨ ⲚϨⲖⲒ ⲀⲚ
But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing.
5 ⲉ̅ ⲒⲤϪⲈ ⲆⲈ ⲞⲨⲞⲚ ⲞⲨⲀⲒ ϦⲈⲚⲐⲎⲚⲞⲨ ⲈϤϪⲞⲢϨ ⲚⲤⲂⲰ ⲘⲀⲢⲈϤⲈⲢⲈⲦⲒⲚ ⲚⲦⲈⲚ ⲪⲚⲞⲨϮ ⲪⲎ ⲈⲦϮ ⲚⲞⲨⲞⲚ ⲚⲒⲂⲈⲚ ⲀⲠⲖⲰⲤ ⲚϤϢⲰϢϤ ⲀⲚ ⲞⲨⲞϨ ⲈⲨⲈϮ ⲚⲀϤ
If any of you lacketh wisdom, let him ask of God, who giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given to him.
6 ⲋ̅ ⲘⲀⲢⲈϤⲈⲢⲈⲦⲒⲚ ⲆⲈ ϦⲈⲚⲞⲨⲚⲀϨϮ ⲚϤⲞⲒ ⲚϨⲎⲦ ⲂⲀⲚ ⲪⲎ ⲄⲀⲢ ⲈⲦⲞⲒ ⲚϨⲎⲦ ⲂⲀϤⲞⲒ ⲘⲪⲢⲎϮ ⲚⲚⲒϪⲞⲖ ⲚⲦⲈⲪⲒⲞⲘ ⲈⲢⲈ ⲠⲐⲎⲞⲨ ϬⲒ ⲘⲘⲰⲞⲨ ⲞⲨⲞϨ ⲈϤⲒⲚⲒ ⲘⲘⲰⲞⲨ
But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.
7 ⲍ̅ ⲘⲠⲈⲚⲐⲢⲈϤⲘⲈⲨⲒ ⲄⲀⲢ ⲚⲀϤ ⲚϪⲈⲠⲒⲢⲰⲘⲒ ⲈⲦⲈⲘⲘⲀⲨ ϪⲈ ϤⲚⲀϬⲒ ϨⲖⲒ ⲚⲦⲞⲦϤ ⲘⲠϬⲤ
For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing from the Lord.
8 ⲏ̅ ⲠⲒⲢⲰⲘⲒ ⲆⲈ ⲈⲦⲞⲒ ⲚϨⲎⲦ ⲂⲞⲨⲀⲦⲤⲈⲘⲚⲒ ⲠⲈ ϨⲒ ⲚⲈϤⲘⲰⲒⲦ ⲦⲎⲢⲞⲨ
A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.
9 ⲑ̅ ⲘⲀⲢⲈϤϢⲞⲨϢⲞⲨ ⲆⲈ ⲘⲘⲞϤ ⲚϪⲈⲠⲒⲤⲞⲚ ⲈⲦⲐⲈⲂⲎⲞⲨⲦ ϦⲈⲚⲠⲈϤϬⲒⲤⲒ
Let the brother of low degree rejoice in that he is exalted:
10 ⲓ̅ ⲠⲒⲢⲀⲘⲀⲞ ⲆⲈ ⲚϨⲢⲎⲒ ϦⲈⲚⲠⲈϤⲐⲈⲂⲒⲞ ϪⲈ ⲘⲪⲢⲎϮ ⲚⲞⲨϨⲢⲎⲢⲒ ⲚⲦⲈⲞⲨⲤⲰⲞⲨⲂⲈⲚ ϤⲚⲀⲤⲒⲚⲒ
But the rich, in that he is made low: because as the flower of the grass he shall pass away.
11 ⲓ̅ⲁ̅ ⲀϤϢⲀⲒ ⲄⲀⲢ ⲚϪⲈⲪⲢⲎ ⲚⲈⲘ ⲠⲒⲔⲀⲨⲤⲰⲚ ⲞⲨⲞϨ ⲀϤⲦϢⲞⲨⲒⲈ ⲠⲒⲤⲰⲞⲨⲂⲈⲚ ⲞⲨⲞϨ ⲦⲈϤϨⲢⲎⲢⲒ ⲀⲤϤⲞⲢϤⲈⲢ ⲠⲤⲀⲒ ⲆⲈ ⲚⲦⲈⲠⲈϤϨⲞ ⲀϤⲦⲀⲔⲞ ⲠⲀⲒⲢⲎϮ ϨⲰϤ ⲠⲒⲢⲀⲘⲀⲞ ⲚϨⲢⲎⲒ ϦⲈⲚⲚⲈϤⲘⲰⲒⲦ ⲦⲎⲢⲞⲨ ϤⲚⲀⲖⲰⲘ
For the sun hath no sooner risen with a burning heat, but it withereth the grass, and its flower falleth, and the grace of its fashion perisheth: so also shall the rich man fade away in his ways.
12 ⲓ̅ⲃ̅ ⲞⲨⲘⲀⲔⲀⲢⲒⲞⲤ ⲠⲈ ⲠⲒⲢⲰⲘⲒ ⲪⲎ ⲈⲐⲚⲀⲀⲘⲞⲚⲒ ⲚⲦⲞⲦϤ ϦⲈⲚⲞⲨⲠⲒⲢⲀⲤⲘⲞⲤ ϪⲈ ⲀϤϢⲀⲚⲈⲢ ⲞⲨⲤⲰⲦⲠ ϤⲚⲀϬⲒ ⲘⲠⲒⲬⲖⲞⲘ ⲚⲦⲈⲠⲰⲚϦ ⲪⲎ ⲈⲦⲀϤⲰϢ ⲘⲘⲞϤ ⲚⲚⲎ ⲈⲐⲚⲀⲘⲈⲚⲢⲒⲦϤ.
Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him.
13 ⲓ̅ⲅ̅ ⲘⲠⲈⲚⲐⲢⲈ ϨⲖⲒ ϪⲞⲤ ⲈⲨⲈⲢⲠⲒⲢⲀⲌⲒⲚ ⲘⲘⲞϤ ϪⲈ ⲪⲚⲞⲨϮ ⲠⲈⲦⲈⲢⲠⲒⲢⲀⲌⲒⲚ ⲘⲘⲞⲒ ⲪⲚⲞⲨϮ ⲄⲀⲢ ϤⲈⲢⲠⲒⲢⲀⲌⲒⲚ ⲀⲚ ϦⲈⲚϨⲀⲚⲠⲈⲦϨⲰⲞⲨ ϤⲈⲢⲠⲒⲢⲀⲌⲒⲚ ⲆⲈ ⲚⲐⲞϤ ⲚϨⲖⲒ ⲀⲚ
Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted by God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man:
14 ⲓ̅ⲇ̅ ⲠⲒⲞⲨⲀⲒ ⲆⲈ ⲠⲒⲞⲨⲀⲒ ⲈⲨⲈⲢⲠⲒⲢⲀⲌⲒⲚ ⲘⲘⲞϤ ⲈⲂⲞⲖ ϨⲒⲦⲈⲚ ⲦⲈϤⲈⲠⲒⲐⲨⲘⲒⲀ ⲘⲘⲒⲚ ⲘⲘⲞϤ ⲈⲤⲤⲰⲔ ⲘⲘⲞϤ ⲞⲨⲞϨ ⲈⲤⲤⲞⲠⲤⲈⲠ ⲘⲘⲞϤ
But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away by his own lust, and enticed.
15 ⲓ̅ⲉ̅ ⲒⲦⲀ ϮⲈⲠⲒⲐⲨⲘⲒⲀ ⲀⲤϢⲀⲚⲈⲢⲂⲞⲔⲒ ϢⲀⲤⲘⲈⲤ ⲪⲚⲞⲂⲒ ⲪⲚⲞⲂⲒ ⲆⲈ ⲀϤϢⲀⲚϪⲰⲔ ⲈⲂⲞⲖ ϢⲀϤϪⲪⲞ ⲘⲪⲘⲞⲨ.
Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.
16 ⲓ̅ⲋ̅ ⲘⲠⲈⲢⲤⲰⲢⲈⲘ ⲚⲀⲤⲚⲎⲞⲨ ⲚⲀⲘⲈⲚⲢⲀϮ
Do not err, my beloved brethren.
17 ⲓ̅ⲍ̅ ⲦⲀⲒⲞ ⲚⲒⲂⲈⲚ ⲈⲐⲚⲀⲚⲈⲨ ⲚⲈⲘ ⲆⲰⲢⲞⲚ ⲚⲒⲂⲈⲚ ⲈⲦϪⲎⲔ ⲈⲂⲞⲖ ϨⲀⲚⲈⲂⲞⲖ ⲘⲠϢⲰⲒ ⲚⲈⲈⲨⲚⲎⲞⲨ ⲈⲠⲈⲤⲎⲦ ⲈⲂⲞⲖ ϨⲒⲦⲈⲚ ⲪⲒⲰⲦ ⲚⲦⲈⲚⲒⲞⲨⲰⲒⲚⲒ ⲪⲎ ⲈⲦⲈ ⲘⲘⲞⲚ ϢⲒⲂϮ ⲚⲀϨⲢⲀϤ ⲞⲨⲆⲈ ⲞⲨⲤⲘⲞⲦ ⲚⲦⲈⲞⲨϦⲎⲒⲂⲒ ⲈⲀⲤⲤⲒⲚⲒ
Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.
18 ⲓ̅ⲏ̅ ⲀϤⲞⲨⲰϢ ⲀϤϪⲪⲞⲚ ϦⲈⲚⲠⲤⲀϪⲒ ⲚⲦⲈϮⲘⲈⲐⲘⲎⲒ ⲈⲐⲢⲈⲚϢⲰⲠⲒ ⲚⲞⲨⲀⲠⲀⲢⲬⲎ ⲚⲦⲈⲚⲈϤⲤⲰⲚⲦ
Of his own will he hath begotten us with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures.
19 ⲓ̅ⲑ̅ ⲦⲈⲚⲤⲰⲞⲨⲚ ⲆⲈ ⲚⲀⲤⲚⲎⲞⲨ ⲚⲀⲘⲈⲚⲢⲀϮ ⲘⲀⲢⲈϤϢⲰⲠⲒ ⲆⲈ ⲚϪⲈⲢⲰⲘⲒ ⲚⲒⲂⲈⲚ ⲈϤⲒⲎⲤⲞⲨⲤ ⲈϤⲚⲀⲤⲰⲦⲈⲘ ⲈϤϨⲞⲢϢ ⲈϤⲚⲀⲤⲀϪⲒ ⲈϤϨⲢⲞϢ ⲈϤⲚⲀϪⲰⲚⲦ
Therefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath:
20 ⲕ̅ ⲠϪⲰⲚⲦ ⲄⲀⲢ ⲘⲪⲢⲰⲘⲒ ⲘⲠⲀϤⲈⲢϨⲰⲂ ⲈϮⲘⲈⲐⲘⲎⲒ ⲚⲦⲈⲪⲚⲞⲨϮ.
For the wrath of man worketh not the righteousness of God.
21 ⲕ̅ⲁ̅ ⲈⲐⲂⲈⲪⲀⲒ ⲬⲀ ⲐⲰⲖⲈⲂ ⲚⲒⲂⲈⲚ ⲈϦⲢⲎⲒ ⲚⲈⲘ ⲠϨⲞⲨⲞ ⲚⲦⲈϮⲔⲀⲔⲒⲀ ϦⲈⲚⲞⲨⲘⲈⲦⲢⲈⲘⲢⲀⲨϢ ϢⲈⲠ ⲠⲒⲤⲀϪⲒ ⲈⲢⲰⲦⲈⲚ ⲈϤⲢⲎⲦ ⲘⲂⲈⲢⲒ ⲪⲎ ⲈⲦⲈ ⲞⲨⲞⲚ ϢϪⲞⲘ ⲘⲘⲞϤ ⲈⲚⲞϨⲈⲘ ⲚⲚⲈⲦⲈⲚⲮⲨⲬⲎ
Therefore put away all filthiness and all that remains of wickedness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls.
22 ⲕ̅ⲃ̅ ϢⲰⲠⲒ ⲈⲢⲈⲦⲈⲚⲞⲒ ⲚⲢⲈϤⲒⲢⲒ ⲘⲠⲒⲤⲀϪⲒ ⲞⲨⲞϨ ⲚⲢⲈϤϬⲒⲤⲘⲎ ⲘⲘⲀⲨⲀⲦϤ ⲀⲚ ⲘⲘⲞⲚ ⲈⲢⲈⲦⲈⲚⲈⲢϨⲀⲖ ⲘⲘⲰⲦⲈⲚ ⲘⲘⲀⲨⲀⲦⲈⲚ ⲐⲎⲚⲞⲨ
But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.
23 ⲕ̅ⲅ̅ ⲪⲎ ⲈⲦⲈ ⲚⲞⲨⲢⲈϤϬⲒⲤⲘⲎ ⲠⲈ ⲚⲦⲈⲠⲒⲤⲀϪⲒ ⲞⲨⲞϨ ⲚⲞⲨⲢⲈϤⲈⲢϨⲰⲂ ⲀⲚ ⲠⲈ ⲪⲀⲒ ⲀϤⲞⲚⲒ ⲚⲞⲨⲢⲰⲘⲒ ⲈⲀϤϮⲚⲒⲀⲦϤ ⲘⲠϨⲞ ⲚⲦⲈⲠⲈϤϪⲒⲚⲘⲒⲤⲒ ϦⲈⲚⲞⲨⲒⲀⲖ
For if any is a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like a man beholding his natural face in a mirror:
24 ⲕ̅ⲇ̅ ⲀϤϮⲚⲒⲀⲦϤ ⲄⲀⲢ ⲘⲘⲞϤ ⲞⲨⲞϨ ⲀϤϢⲈ ⲚⲀϤ ⲞⲨⲞϨ ⲤⲀⲦⲞⲦϤ ⲀϤⲈⲢⲠⲰⲂϢ ⲘⲠⲒⲢⲎϮ ⲈⲚⲀϤⲞⲒ ⲘⲘⲞϤ
For he beholdeth himself, and goeth away, and immediately forgetteth what manner of man he was.
25 ⲕ̅ⲉ̅ ⲪⲎ ⲆⲈ ⲈⲦⲀϤⲤⲞⲘⲤ ⲤⲪⲚⲞⲘⲞⲤ ⲈⲦϪⲎⲔ ⲈⲂⲞⲖ ⲚϮⲘⲈⲦⲢⲈⲘϨⲈ ⲞⲨⲞϨ ⲚⲦⲈϤⲞϨⲒ ⲚϦⲎⲦϤ ⲘⲠⲀϤⲈⲢⲢⲈϤϬⲒⲤⲘⲎ ⲚⲢⲈϤⲈⲢⲠⲰⲂϢ ⲀⲖⲖⲀ ⲚⲢⲈϤⲒⲢⲒ ⲘⲠⲒϨⲰⲂ ⲪⲀⲒ ⲈϤⲈⲈⲢ ⲞⲨⲘⲀⲔⲀⲢⲒⲞⲤ ϦⲈⲚⲠⲈⲦⲈϤⲒⲢⲒ ⲘⲘⲞϤ.
But he who looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth in it, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.
26 ⲕ̅ⲋ̅ ⲪⲎ ⲆⲈ ⲈⲐⲨⲘⲈⲨⲒ ⲈⲢⲞϤ ϪⲈ ⲞⲨⲢⲈϤϢⲈⲘϢⲒ ⲠⲈ ⲚϤϬⲒⲬⲀⲖⲒⲚⲞⲨⲤ ⲘⲠⲈϤⲖⲀⲤ ⲀⲚ ⲀⲖⲖⲀ ⲀϤⲈⲢϨⲀⲖ ⲘⲠⲈϤϨⲎⲦ ⲞⲨⲈⲪⲖⲎⲞⲨ ⲠⲈ ⲠϢⲈⲘϢⲒ ⲘⲪⲀⲒ
If any man among you seemeth to be religious, and bridleth not his tongue, but deceiveth his own heart, this man’s religion is vain.
27 ⲕ̅ⲍ̅ ⲠⲒϢⲈⲘϢⲒ ⲆⲈ ⲈⲐⲞⲨⲀⲂ ⲞⲨⲞϨ ⲚⲀⲦⲐⲰⲖⲈⲂ ϦⲀⲦⲈⲚ ⲪⲚⲞⲨϮ ⲞⲨⲞϨ ⲪⲒⲰⲦ ⲪⲀⲒ ⲠⲈ ⲈϪⲈⲘⲠϢⲒⲚⲒ ⲚⲚⲒⲞⲢⲪⲀⲚⲞⲤ ⲚⲈⲘ ⲚⲒⲬⲎⲢⲀ ⲚϦⲢⲎⲒ ϦⲈⲚⲠⲞⲨϨⲞϪϨⲈϪ ⲈⲀⲢⲈϨ ⲈⲢⲞϤ ⲈϤⲞⲒ ⲚⲀⲦⲀϬ ⲚⲒ ⲈⲂⲞⲖ ϨⲀ ⲠⲒⲔⲞⲤⲘⲞⲤ.
Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world.
