ⲦⲒⳘⲞⲐⲈⲞⲤ Ⲁ ̅ 3

1 ⲁ̅ ϤⲈⲚϨⲞⲦ ⲚϪⲈⲠⲤⲀϪⲒ ⲪⲎ ⲈⲐⲞⲨⲰϢ ⲈⲞⲨⲘⲈⲦⲈⲠⲒⲤⲔⲞⲠⲞⲤ ⲞⲨϨⲰⲂ ⲈⲚⲀⲚⲈϤ ⲈⲦⲈⲢⲈⲠⲒⲐⲨⲘⲒⲚ ⲈⲢⲞϤ.

The word [is] steadfast: If anyone longs for overseership, he desires a right work;

2 ⲃ̅ ⲤⲈⲘⲠϢⲀ ⲞⲨⲚ ⲚⲦⲈⲠⲒⲈⲠⲒⲤⲔⲞⲠⲞⲤ ϢⲰⲠⲒ ⲚⲀⲦⲖⲰⲒϪⲒ ⲈⲀϤⲈⲢϨⲀⲒ ⲚⲞⲨⲤϨⲒⲘⲒ ⲚⲞⲨⲰⲦ ⲈϤⲢⲎ ⲤⲚⲤⲀⲂⲈ ⲚⲤⲈⲖⲤⲒⲖ ⲘⲘⲀⲒϢⲈⲘⲘⲞ ⲚⲢⲈϤϮⲤⲂⲰ ⲈⲚⲀⲚⲈϤ.

it is required, therefore, the overseer to be blameless, a husband of one wife, vigilant, sober, respectable, a friend of strangers, apt to teach,

3 ⲅ̅ ⲚⲞⲨⲢⲈϤⲤⲈ ϨⲞⲨⲞ ⲎⲢⲠ ⲀⲚ ⲠⲈ ⲚⲞⲨⲢⲈϤϮ ⲦⲈⲚϢⲒ ⲀⲚ ⲀⲖⲖⲀ ⲞⲨⲈⲠⲒⲔⲎⲤ ⲠⲈ ⲚⲞⲨⲢⲈϤⲘⲖⲀϦ ⲀⲚ ⲠⲈ ⲚⲞⲨⲘⲀⲒϨⲀⲦ ⲀⲚ ⲠⲈ.

not given to wine, not a striker, but gentle, not contentious, not a lover of money,

4 ⲇ̅ ⲈϤϤⲒⲪⲢⲰⲞⲨϢ ⲘⲠⲈϤⲎⲒ ⲚⲔⲀⲖⲰⲤ ⲈⲞⲨⲞⲚⲦⲀϤ ⲚϨⲀⲚϢⲎⲢⲒ ⲈⲦϦⲈⲚ ⲞⲨϬⲚⲈϪⲰϤ ⲚⲈⲘ ⲞⲨⲘⲈⲦⲤⲈⲘⲚⲞⲤ ⲚⲒⲂⲈⲚ.

leading his own house well, having children in subjection with all dignity,

5 ⲉ̅ ⲒⲤϪⲈ ⲆⲈ ⲞⲨⲞⲚ ⲞⲨⲀⲒ ⲚϤⲤⲰⲞⲨⲚ ⲀⲚ ⲈϤⲒⲪⲢⲰⲞⲨϢ ⲈⲠⲈϤⲎⲒ ⲘⲘⲒⲚ ⲘⲘⲞϤ ⲠⲰⲤ ϤⲚⲀϤⲒⲪⲢⲰⲞⲨϢ ⲚϮⲈⲔⲔⲖⲎⲤⲒⲀ ⲚⲦⲈⲪⲚⲞⲨϮ.

(and if anyone has not known [how] to lead his own house, how will he take care of an assembly of God?)

6 ⲋ̅ ⲚⲞⲨⲦⲰϪⲒ ⲘⲂⲈⲢⲒ ⲀⲚ ⲠⲈ ϨⲒⲚⲀ ⲚⲦⲈϤϢⲦⲈⲘϬ ⲒⲤⲒ ⲚϨⲎⲦ ⲚⲦⲈϤϨⲈⲒ ⲈϦⲢⲎⲒ ⲈⲨϨⲀⲠ ⲚⲦⲈⲠⲒⲆⲒⲀⲂⲞⲖⲞⲤ.

not a new convert, lest having been puffed up he may fall to a judgment of the Devil;

7 ⲍ̅ ⲤⲈⲘⲠϢⲀ ⲆⲈ ⲞⲚ ⲚⲦⲈⲔⲈⲘⲈⲦⲘⲈⲐⲢⲈ ⲈⲚⲀⲚⲈϤ ϢⲰⲠⲒ ϦⲀⲢⲞϤ ⲚⲦⲈⲚⲎ ⲈⲦⲤⲀⲂⲞⲖ ϨⲒⲚⲀ ⲚⲦⲈϤϢⲦⲈⲘϨⲈⲒ ⲈⲞⲨϢⲰϢ ⲚⲈⲘ ⲞⲨⲪⲀϢ ⲚⲦⲈⲠⲒⲆⲒⲀⲂⲞⲖⲞⲤ.

and it is required of him also to have a good testimony from those outside, that he may not fall into reproach and a snare of the Devil.

8 ⲏ̅ ϨⲀⲚⲆⲒⲀⲔⲰⲚ ⲞⲚ ⲘⲠⲀⲒⲢⲎϮ ⲈⲨⲞⲒ ⲚⲤⲈⲘⲚⲞⲤ ⲈϨⲀⲚⲢⲈϤⲤⲀϪⲒ ⲂⲀⲚ ⲚⲈⲚⲤⲈϮ ⲚϨⲐⲎ ⲞⲨ ⲀⲚ ⲈⲞⲨⲘⲎϢ ⲚⲎⲢⲠ ⲈϨⲀⲚⲀϤϪⲒⲢ ⲀⲚ ⲚⲈⲈϨⲀⲚⲘⲀⲒϨⲎⲞⲨ ⲈϤϢⲎϢ ⲀⲚ ⲚⲈ.

Servants, in like manner, dignified, not double-tongued, not given to much wine, not given to shameful gain,

9 ⲑ̅ ⲈϤⲈⲚⲦⲞⲦⲞⲨ ⲚϪⲈⲠⲒⲘⲨⲤⲦⲎⲢⲒⲞⲚ ⲚⲦⲈⲪⲚⲀϨϮ ϦⲈⲚⲞⲨⲤⲨⲚⲎⲆⲈⲤⲒⲤ ⲈⲤⲦⲞⲨⲂⲎⲞⲨⲦ.

having the secret of the faith in a pure conscience,

10 ⲓ̅ ⲚⲀⲒⲔⲈⲬⲰⲞⲨⲚⲒ ⲘⲀⲢⲞⲨⲈⲢⲆⲞⲔⲒⲘⲀⲌⲒⲚ ⲘⲘⲰⲞⲨ ⲚϢⲞⲢⲠ ⲒⲦⲀ ⲘⲀⲢⲞⲨϢⲈⲘϢⲒ ⲈⲨⲞⲒ ⲚⲀⲦⲀⲢⲒⲔⲒ.

and let these also first be proved, then let them minister, being unblameable.

11 ⲓ̅ⲁ̅ ϨⲀⲚϨⲒⲞⲘⲒ ⲞⲚ ⲘⲠⲀⲒⲢⲎϮ ⲈⲨⲞⲒ ⲚⲤⲈⲘⲚⲒ ⲈϨⲀⲚⲆⲒⲀⲂⲞⲖⲞⲤ ⲀⲚ ⲚⲈⲈⲨⲢⲎⲤ ⲈⲨⲈⲚϨⲞⲦ ϦⲈⲚϨⲰⲂ ⲚⲒⲂⲈⲚ.

Women, in like manner, dignified, not false accusers, vigilant, faithful in all things.

12 ⲓ̅ⲃ̅ ϨⲀⲚⲆⲒⲀⲔⲰⲚ ⲘⲀⲢⲞⲨϢⲰⲠⲒ ⲈⲀⲨⲈⲢϨⲀⲒ ⲚⲞⲨⲤϨⲒⲘⲒ ⲚⲞⲨⲰⲦ ⲈⲨϤⲒⲪⲢⲰⲞⲨϢ ⲚⲚⲞⲨϢⲎⲢⲒ ⲚⲔⲀⲖⲰⲤ ⲚⲈⲘ ⲠⲞⲨⲎⲒ.

Servants—let them be husbands of one wife, leading the children well, and their own houses,

13 ⲓ̅ⲅ̅ ⲚⲎ ⲄⲀⲢ ⲈⲦⲀⲨϢⲈⲘϢⲒ ⲚⲔⲀⲖⲰⲤ ⲞⲨⲦⲰⲦⲈⲢ ⲈⲚⲀⲚⲈϤ ⲠⲈⲦⲞⲨⲐⲀⲘⲒⲞ ⲘⲘⲞϤ ⲚⲰⲞⲨ ⲚⲈⲘ ⲞⲨⲚⲒϢϮ ⲘⲠⲀⲢⲢⲎⲤⲒⲀ ϦⲈⲚⲠⲒⲚⲀϨϮ ⲪⲎ ⲈⲦϦⲈⲚ ⲠⲬⲢⲒⲤⲦⲞⲤ ⲒⲎⲤⲞⲨⲤ.

for those who ministered well acquire a good step to themselves, and much boldness in faith that [is] in Christ Jesus.

14 ⲓ̅ⲇ̅ ⲚⲀⲒ ϮⲤϦⲀⲒ ⲘⲘⲰⲞⲨ ⲚⲀⲔ ⲈⲒⲈⲢϨⲈⲖⲠⲒⲤ ⲈⲒ ϨⲀⲢⲞⲔ ⲚⲬⲰⲖⲈⲘ.

I write to you these things, hoping to come to you soon,

15 ⲓ̅ⲉ̅ ⲈϢⲰⲠ ⲆⲈ ⲀⲒϢⲀⲚⲰⲤⲔ ϨⲒⲚⲀ ⲚⲦⲈⲔⲈⲘⲒ ⲘⲪⲢⲎϮ ⲈⲦⲤⲈⲘⲠϢⲀ ⲚϢⲰⲠⲒ ϦⲈⲚⲠⲎⲒ ⲘⲪⲚⲞⲨϮ ⲈⲦⲈ ϮⲈⲔⲔⲖⲎⲤⲒⲀ ⲚⲦⲈⲪⲚⲞⲨϮ ⲈⲦⲞⲚϦ ⲦⲈ ⲈⲨⲤⲦⲨⲖⲞⲤ ⲚⲈⲘ ⲞⲨⲦⲀϪⲢⲞ ⲚⲦⲈⲐⲘⲎⲒ.

and if I delay, that you may know how it is required to conduct yourself in the house of God, which is an assembly of the living God—a pillar and foundation of the truth,

16 ⲓ̅ⲋ̅ ⲞⲨⲞϨ ϦⲈⲚⲞⲨⲞⲚϨ ⲈⲂⲞⲖ ⲞⲨⲚⲒϢϮ ⲠⲈ ⲠⲒⲘⲨⲤⲦⲎⲢⲒⲞⲚ ⲚⲦⲈϮⲘⲈⲦⲈⲨⲤⲈⲂⲎⲤ ⲪⲎ ⲈⲦⲀϤⲞⲨⲞⲚϨϤ ϦⲈⲚⲦⲤⲀⲢⲜ ⲀⲨⲐⲀⲘⲒⲞϤ ϦⲈⲚⲠⲒⲠⲚⲈⲨⲘⲀⲀϤⲞⲨⲞⲚϨϤ ⲈⲚⲒⲀⲄⲄⲈⲖⲞⲤ ⲀⲨϨⲒⲰⲒϢ ⲘⲘⲞϤ ϦⲈⲚⲚⲒⲈⲐⲚⲞⲤ ⲀⲨⲚⲀϨϮ ⲈⲢⲞϤ ϦⲈⲚⲠⲒⲔⲞⲤⲘⲞⲤ ⲀⲨⲞⲖϤ ⲈⲠϢⲰⲒ ϦⲈⲚⲞⲨⲰⲞⲨ.

and confessedly, great is the secret of piety: who was revealed in flesh, declared righteous in [the] Spirit, seen by messengers, preached among nations, believed on in the world, taken up in glory!
