1 ⲁ̅ ⲀⲚⲀⲨ ϪⲈ ⲞⲨⲀⲄⲀⲠⲎ ⲚⲀϢ ⲘⲘⲀⲒⲎ ⲀϤⲦⲎ ⲒⲤ ⲚⲀⲚ ⲚϪⲈⲪⲒⲰⲦ ϨⲒⲚⲀ ⲚⲤⲈⲘⲞⲨϮ ⲈⲢⲞⲚ ϪⲈ ⲚⲒϢⲎⲢⲒ ⲚⲦⲈⲪⲚⲞⲨϮ ⲞⲨⲞϨ ⲀⲚⲞⲚ ϨⲀⲚⲞⲨⲞⲚ ⲈⲐⲂⲈⲪⲀⲒ ⲠⲒⲔⲞⲤⲘⲞⲤ ⲤⲰⲞⲨⲚ ⲘⲘⲞⲚ ⲀⲚ ϪⲈ ⲞⲨⲎⲒ ⲘⲠⲈϤⲤⲞⲨⲰⲚϤ.
See what kind of love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called children of God; and we are. For this reason the world does not know us, because it did not know him.
2 ⲃ̅ ⲚⲀⲘⲈⲚⲢⲀϮ ϮⲚⲞⲨ ⲀⲚⲞⲚ ϨⲀⲚϢⲎⲢⲒ ⲚⲦⲈⲪⲚⲞⲨϮ ⲞⲨⲞϨ ⲘⲠⲀⲦⲈϤⲞⲨⲞⲚϨ ⲈⲂⲞⲖ ϪⲈ ⲀⲚⲚⲀⲈⲢ ⲀϢ ⲚⲢⲎϮ ⲦⲈⲚⲤⲰⲞⲨⲚ ⲆⲈ ϪⲈ ⲀϤϢⲀⲚⲞⲨⲞⲚϨ ⲈⲂⲞⲖ ⲦⲈⲚⲚⲀⲈⲢ ⲠⲈϤⲢⲎϮ ϪⲈ ⲦⲈⲚⲚⲀⲨ ⲈⲢⲞϤ ⲔⲀⲦⲀ ⲪⲢⲎϮ ⲈⲦⲈϤⲞⲒ ⲘⲘⲞϤ
Beloved, now we are children of God, and it is not yet revealed what we will be. We know that, when he is revealed, we will be like him; for we will see him just as he is.
3 ⲅ̅ ⲞⲨⲞⲚ ⲚⲒⲂⲈⲚ ⲈⲦⲈ ⲦⲀⲒϨⲈⲖⲠⲒⲤ ⲚⲦⲞⲦϤ ϢⲀϤⲦⲞⲨⲂⲞϤ ⲚϦⲢⲎⲒ ⲚϦⲎⲦϤ ⲔⲀⲦⲀ ⲪⲢⲎϮ ⲈⲦⲈ ⲪⲎ ⲞⲨⲀⲂ ⲘⲘⲞϤ
Everyone who has this hope set on him purifies himself, even as he is pure.
4 ⲇ̅ ⲞⲨⲞⲚ ⲚⲒⲂⲈⲚ ⲈⲦⲒⲢⲒ ⲘⲪⲚⲞⲂⲒ ϤⲒⲢⲒ ⲞⲚ ⲚϮⲀⲚⲞⲘⲒⲀ ⲪⲚⲞⲂⲒ ⲄⲀⲢ ⲦⲀⲚⲞⲘⲒⲀ ⲦⲈ
Everyone who sins also commits lawlessness. Sin is lawlessness.
5 ⲉ̅ ⲞⲨⲞϨ ⲦⲈⲚⲤⲰⲞⲨⲚ ϪⲈ ⲈⲦⲀ ⲪⲎ ⲞⲨⲞⲚϨ ⲈⲂⲞⲖ ϨⲒⲚⲀ ⲚⲦⲈϤⲈⲖ ⲚⲒⲚⲞⲂⲒ ⲞⲨⲞϨ ⲪⲚⲞⲂⲒ ϢⲞⲠ ⲚϦⲎⲦϤ ⲀⲚ
You know that he was revealed to take away sins, and in him is no sin.
6 ⲋ̅ ⲞⲨⲞⲚ ⲚⲒⲂⲈⲚ ⲈⲦϢⲞⲠ ⲚϦⲎⲦϤ ⲘⲠⲀϤⲈⲢⲚⲞⲂⲒ ⲞⲨⲞⲚ ⲚⲒⲂⲈⲚ ⲈⲦⲒⲢⲒ ⲘⲪⲚⲞⲂⲒ ⲘⲠⲈϤⲚⲀⲨ ⲈⲢⲞϤ ⲞⲨⲆⲈ ⲘⲠⲈϤⲤⲞⲨⲰⲚϤ
Whoever remains in him does not sin. Whoever sins hasn't seen him, neither knows him.
7 ⲍ̅ ⲚⲒⲀⲖⲰⲞⲨⲒ ⲘⲠⲈⲚⲐⲢⲈ ϨⲖⲒ ⲤⲈⲢⲈⲘ ⲐⲎⲚⲞⲨ ⲪⲎ ⲈⲦⲒⲢⲒ ⲚϮⲘⲈⲐⲘⲎⲒ ⲞⲨⲐⲘⲎⲒ ⲠⲈ ⲔⲀⲦⲀ ⲪⲢⲎϮ ⲈⲦⲈ ⲪⲎ ⲞⲨⲐⲘⲎⲒ ⲠⲈ.
Children, let no one lead you astray. He who does righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous.
8 ⲏ̅ ⲪⲎ ⲈⲦⲒⲢⲒ ⲆⲈ ⲘⲪⲚⲞⲂⲒ ⲞⲨⲈⲂⲞⲖ ϦⲈⲚⲠⲒⲆⲒⲀⲂⲞⲖⲞⲤ ⲠⲈ ϪⲈ ⲠⲒⲆⲒⲀⲂⲞⲖⲞⲤ ϤⲈⲢⲚⲞⲂⲒ ⲒⲤϪⲈⲚ ϨⲎ ⲈⲐⲂⲈⲪⲀⲒ ⲀϤⲞⲨⲰⲚϨ ⲈⲂⲞⲖ ⲚϪⲈⲠϢⲎⲢⲒ ⲘⲪⲚⲞⲨϮ ϨⲒⲚⲀ ⲚⲦⲈϤⲂⲈⲖ ⲚⲒϨⲂⲎⲞⲨⲒ ⲚⲦⲈⲠⲒⲆⲒⲀⲂⲞⲖⲞⲤ ⲈⲂⲞⲖ
He who sins is of the devil, for the devil has been sinning from the beginning. To this end the Son of God was revealed, to destroy the works of the devil.
9 ⲑ̅ ⲞⲨⲞⲚ ⲚⲒⲂⲈⲚ ⲈⲦⲀⲨⲘⲀⲤϤ ⲈⲂⲞⲖ ϦⲈⲚⲪⲚⲞⲨϮ ⲘⲠⲀϤⲈⲢⲚⲞⲂⲒ ϪⲈ ⲞⲨⲞⲚ ⲞⲨϪⲢⲞϪ ⲚⲦⲀϤ ϢⲞⲠ ⲚϦⲎⲦϤ ⲞⲨⲞϨ ⲘⲘⲞⲚ ϢϪⲞⲘ ⲘⲘⲞϤ ⲈⲈⲢⲚⲞⲂⲒ ϪⲈ ⲈⲦⲀⲨⲘⲀⲤϤ ⲈⲂⲞⲖ ϦⲈⲚⲪϮ
Whoever is born of God does not commit sin, because his seed remains in him; and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.
10 ⲓ̅ ϦⲈⲚ ⲪⲀⲒ ⲤⲈⲞⲨⲞⲚϨ ⲈⲂⲞⲖ ⲚϪⲈⲚⲒϢⲎ ⲢⲒ ⲚⲦⲈⲪⲚⲞⲨϮ ⲚⲈⲘ ⲚⲒϢⲎⲢⲒ ⲚⲦⲈⲠⲒⲆⲒⲀⲂⲞⲖⲞⲤ ⲞⲨⲞⲚ ⲚⲒⲂⲈⲚ ⲈⲦⲈⲚϤⲒⲢⲒ ⲚⲐⲘⲎⲒ ⲀⲚ ⲞⲨⲈⲂⲞⲖ ϦⲈⲚⲪⲚⲞⲨϮ ⲀⲚ ⲠⲈ ⲚⲈⲘ ⲪⲎ ⲈⲦⲈⲚϤⲘⲈⲒ ⲘⲠⲈϤⲤⲞⲚ ⲀⲚ
In this the children of God are revealed, and the children of the devil. Whoever does not do righteousness is not of God, neither is he who does not love his brother.
11 ⲓ̅ⲁ̅ ϪⲈ ⲪⲀⲒ ⲠⲈ ⲠⲒⲰϢ ⲪⲎ ⲈⲦⲀⲢⲈⲦⲈⲚⲤⲞⲐⲘⲈϤ ⲒⲤϪⲈⲚ ϨⲎ ϨⲒⲚⲀ ⲚⲦⲈⲦⲈⲚⲘⲈⲚⲢⲈ ⲚⲈⲦⲈⲚⲈⲢⲎⲞⲨ
For this is the message which you heard from the beginning, that we should love one another;
12 ⲓ̅ⲃ̅ ⲔⲀⲦⲀ ⲪⲢⲎϮ ⲀⲚ ⲚⲔⲀⲒⲚ ⲈⲦⲈ ⲞⲨⲈⲂⲞⲖ ϦⲈⲚⲠⲒⲠⲈⲦϨⲰⲞⲨ ⲠⲈ ⲞⲨⲞϨ ⲀϤϦⲰⲦⲈⲂ ⲘⲠⲈϤⲤⲞⲚ ⲈⲐⲂⲈⲞⲨ ⲀϤϦⲰⲦⲈⲂ ⲘⲘⲞϤ ϪⲈ ⲚⲈϤϨⲂⲎ ⲞⲨⲒ ⲚⲀⲨϨⲰⲞⲨ ⲠⲈ ⲚⲀ ⲠⲈϤⲤⲞⲚ ⲆⲈ ϨⲀⲚⲆⲒⲔⲈⲞⲚ ⲚⲈ
unlike Cain, who was of the evil one, and killed his brother. Why did he kill him? Because his works were evil, and his brother's righteous.
13 ⲓ̅ⲅ̅ ⲘⲠⲈⲢⲈⲢϢⲪⲎⲢⲒ ⲆⲈ ⲚⲀⲤⲚⲎⲞⲨ ⲒⲤϪⲈ ϤⲘⲞⲤϮ ⲘⲘⲰⲦⲈⲚ ⲚϪⲈⲠⲒⲔⲞⲤⲘⲞⲤ
Therefore do not be surprised, brothers, if the world hates you.
14 ⲓ̅ⲇ̅ ⲀⲚⲞⲚ ⲦⲈⲚⲤⲰⲞⲨⲚ ϪⲈ ⲀⲚⲞⲨⲰⲦⲈⲂ ⲈⲂⲞⲖ ϦⲈⲚⲪⲘⲞⲨ ⲈϦⲞⲨⲚ ⲈⲠⲰⲚϦ ϪⲈ ⲦⲈⲚⲈⲢⲀⲄⲀⲠⲀⲚ ⲚⲚⲒⲤⲚⲎⲞⲨ ⲪⲎ ⲈⲦⲈⲚϤⲈⲢⲀⲄⲀⲠⲀⲚ ⲀⲚ ⲀϤϢⲞⲠ ϦⲈⲚⲪⲘⲞⲨ
We know that we have passed out of death into life, because we love the brothers. He who does not love remains in death.
15 ⲓ̅ⲉ̅ ⲞⲨⲞⲚ ⲚⲒⲂⲈⲚ ⲈⲐⲘⲞⲤϮ ⲘⲠⲈϤⲤⲞⲚ ⲞⲨϦⲀⲦⲈⲂ ⲢⲰⲘⲒ ⲠⲈ ⲞⲨⲞϨ ⲦⲈⲚⲤⲰⲞⲨⲚ ϪⲈ ϦⲀⲦⲈⲂ ⲢⲰⲘⲒ ⲚⲒⲂⲈⲚ ⲘⲘⲞⲚ ⲰⲚϦ ⲚⲈⲚⲈϨ ϢⲞⲠ ⲚϦⲎⲦⲞⲨ (aiōnios )
Whoever hates his brother is a murderer, and you know that no murderer has everlasting life remaining in him. (aiōnios )
16 ⲓ̅ⲋ̅ ϦⲈⲚ ⲪⲀⲒ ⲀⲚⲤⲞⲨⲈⲚ ϮⲀⲄⲀⲠⲎ ϪⲈ Ⲁ- ⲪⲎ ⲬⲰ ⲚⲦⲈϤⲮⲨⲬⲎ ⲈϨⲢⲎⲒ ⲈϪⲰⲚ ⲞⲨⲞϨ ⲀⲚⲞⲚ ϨⲰⲚ ⲤⲈⲘⲠϢⲀ ⲚⲦⲈⲚⲬⲰ ⲚⲦⲈⲚⲮⲨⲬⲎ ⲈϪⲈⲚ ⲚⲈⲚⲈⲢⲎⲞⲨ
By this we know love, because he laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for the brothers.
17 ⲓ̅ⲍ̅ ⲪⲎ ⲆⲈ ⲈⲦⲈ ⲞⲨⲞⲚⲦⲀϤ ⲘⲘⲀⲨ ⲚⲞⲨⲰⲚϦ ⲚⲦⲈⲠⲀⲒⲔⲞⲤⲘⲞⲤ ⲞⲨⲞϨ ⲚⲦⲈϤⲚⲀⲨ ⲈⲠⲈϤⲤⲞⲚ ⲈϤⲈⲢⲬⲢⲒⲀ ⲞⲨⲞϨ ⲚⲦⲈϤⲘⲀϢⲐⲀⲘ ⲚⲚⲈϤⲘⲈⲦϢⲀⲚⲐⲘⲀϦⲦ ⲈⲂⲞⲖ ϨⲀⲢⲞϤ ⲠⲰⲤ ϮⲀⲄⲀⲠⲎ ⲚⲦⲈⲪⲚⲞⲨϮ ⲚⲀϢⲰⲠⲒ ⲚϦⲎⲦϤ.
But whoever has the world's goods, and sees his brother in need, and closes his heart of compassion against him, how does the love of God remain in him?
18 ⲓ̅ⲏ̅ ⲚⲀϢⲎⲢⲒ ⲘⲠⲈⲚⲐⲢⲈⲚⲘⲈⲒ ϦⲈⲚⲠⲤⲀϪⲒ ⲞⲨⲆⲈ ϦⲈⲚⲪⲖⲀⲤ ⲀⲖⲖⲀ ϦⲈⲚⲠϨⲰⲂ ⲚⲈⲘ ϮⲘⲈⲐⲘⲎⲒ
Little children, let us not love in word only, neither with the tongue only, but in deed and truth.
19 ⲓ̅ⲑ̅ ϦⲈⲚ ⲪⲀⲒ ⲦⲈⲚⲚⲀⲈⲘⲒ ϪⲈ ⲀⲚⲞⲚ ϨⲀⲚⲈⲂⲞⲖ ϦⲈⲚϮⲘⲈⲐⲘⲎⲒ ⲞⲨⲞϨ ⲦⲈⲚⲚⲀⲐⲰⲦ ⲠⲈⲚϨⲎⲦ ⲘⲠⲈϤⲘⲐⲞ
And by this we will know that we are of the truth, and persuade our heart before him,
20 ⲕ̅ ϪⲈ ⲈϢⲰⲠ ⲀⲢⲈϢⲀⲚ ⲠⲈⲚϨⲎⲦ ⲈⲢⲔⲀⲦⲀⲄⲒⲚⲰⲤⲔⲒⲚ ⲘⲘⲞⲚ ⲞⲨⲚⲒϢϮ ⲠⲈ ⲪⲚⲞⲨϮ ⲈϨⲞⲦⲈ ⲠⲈⲚϨⲎⲦ ⲞⲨⲞϨ ϤⲤⲰⲞⲨⲚ ⲚϨⲰⲂ ⲚⲒⲂⲈⲚ
because if our heart condemns us, God is greater than our heart, and knows all things.
21 ⲕ̅ⲁ̅ ⲚⲀⲘⲈⲚⲢⲀϮ ⲈϢⲰⲠ ⲀⲢⲈϢⲦⲈⲘ ⲠⲈⲚϨⲎ ⲦⲈⲢⲔⲀⲦⲀⲄⲒⲚⲰⲤⲔⲒⲚ ⲘⲘⲞⲚ ⲞⲨⲞⲚⲦⲀⲚ ⲚⲞⲨⲠⲀⲢⲢⲎⲤⲒⲀ ϦⲀⲦⲈⲚ ⲪϮ
Beloved, if our hearts do not condemn us, we have confidence before God;
22 ⲕ̅ⲃ̅ ⲞⲨⲞϨ ⲪⲎ ⲈⲦⲈⲚⲚⲀⲈⲢⲈⲦⲒⲚ ⲘⲘⲞϤ ⲦⲈⲚⲚⲀϬⲒⲦϤ ⲚⲦⲞⲦϤ ϪⲈ ⲦⲈⲚⲀⲢⲈϨ ⲈⲚⲈϤⲈⲚⲦⲞⲖⲎ ⲞⲨⲞϨ ⲦⲈⲚⲒⲢⲒ ⲘⲪⲎ ⲈⲐⲢⲀⲚⲀϤ ⲘⲠⲈϤⲘⲐⲞ
and whatever we ask, we receive from him, because we keep his commandments and do the things that are pleasing in his sight.
23 ⲕ̅ⲅ̅ ⲞⲨⲞϨ ⲐⲀⲒ ⲦⲈ ⲦⲈϤⲈⲚⲦⲞⲖⲎ ϨⲒⲚⲀ ⲚⲦⲈⲚⲚⲀϨϮ ⲈⲪⲢⲀⲚ ⲘⲠⲈϤϢⲎⲢⲒ ⲒⲎⲤⲞⲨⲤ ⲠⲬⲢⲒⲤⲦⲞⲤ ⲞⲨⲞϨ ⲚⲦⲈⲚⲘⲈⲚⲢⲈ ⲚⲈⲚⲈⲢⲎⲞⲨ ⲔⲀⲦⲀ ⲪⲢⲎϮ ⲈⲦⲀϤϮ ⲈⲚⲦⲞⲖⲎ ⲚⲀⲚ
This is his commandment, that we should believe in the name of his Son, Jesus (the) Messiah, and love one another, even as he commanded us.
24 ⲕ̅ⲇ̅ ⲞⲨⲞϨ ⲪⲎ ⲈⲐⲚⲀⲀⲢⲈϨ ⲈⲚⲈϤⲈⲚⲦⲞⲖⲎ ϤϢⲞⲠ ⲚϦⲎⲦϤ ⲞⲨⲞϨ ⲚⲐⲞϤ ϨⲰϤ ϤϢⲞⲠ ⲚϦⲎⲦϤ ⲞⲨⲞϨ ϦⲈⲚⲪⲀⲒ ⲦⲈⲚⲚⲀⲈⲘⲒ ϪⲈ ϤϢⲞⲠ ⲚϦⲎⲦⲈⲚ ⲈⲂⲞⲖ ϨⲒⲦⲈⲚ ⲠⲒⲠⲚⲈⲨⲘⲀⲈⲦⲀϤⲦⲎⲒϤ ⲚⲀⲚ.
He who keeps his commandments remains in him, and he in him. By this we know that he remains in us, by the Spirit which he gave us.
