1 ⲁ̅ ⲚⲀϢⲎⲢⲒ ⲚⲀⲒ ϮⲤϦⲀⲒ ⲘⲘⲰⲞⲨ ⲚⲰⲦⲈⲚ ϨⲒⲚⲀ ⲚⲦⲈⲦⲈⲚϢⲦⲈⲘⲈⲢⲚⲞⲂⲒ ⲞⲨⲞϨ ⲈϢⲰⲠ ⲀⲢⲈϢⲀⲚ ⲞⲨⲀⲒ ⲈⲢⲚⲞⲂⲒ ⲞⲨⲞⲚⲦⲀⲚ ⲘⲘⲀⲨ ⲘⲠⲒⲠⲀⲢⲀⲔⲖⲎⲦⲞⲚ ϦⲀⲦⲈⲚ ⲪⲒⲰⲦ ⲒⲎⲤⲞⲨⲤ ⲠⲬⲢⲒⲤⲦⲞⲤ ⲠⲒⲐⲘⲎⲒ
My children, these things I write to you, that ye may not sin. And if any one have sinned, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous.
2 ⲃ̅ ⲞⲨⲞϨ ⲚⲐⲞϤ ⲠⲈ ⲠⲤⲰϮ ⲚⲦⲈⲚⲈⲚⲚⲞⲂⲒ ⲈⲐⲂⲈ ⲚⲞⲨⲚ ⲆⲈ ⲘⲘⲀⲨⲀⲦⲈⲚ ⲀⲚ ⲀⲖⲖⲀ ⲚⲈⲘ ⲈⲐⲂⲈ ⲚⲀ ⲠⲒⲔⲞⲤⲘⲞⲤ ⲦⲎⲢϤ.
And he is a propitiation for our sins; and not for ours only, but also for the whole world.
3 ⲅ̅ ⲞⲨⲞϨ ϦⲈⲚⲪⲀⲒ ⲦⲈⲚⲚⲀⲈⲘⲒ ϪⲈ ⲀⲚⲤⲞⲨⲰⲚϤ ⲈϢⲰⲠ ⲀⲚϢⲀⲚⲀⲢⲈϨ ⲈⲚⲈϤⲈⲚⲦⲞⲖⲎ
And hereby we know that we know him, if we keep his commandments.
4 ⲇ̅ ⲪⲎ ⲈⲦϪⲰ ⲘⲘⲞⲤ ϪⲈ ⲀⲒⲤⲞⲨⲰⲚϤ ⲞⲨⲞϨ ⲚⲦⲈϤϢⲦⲈⲘⲀⲢⲈϨ ⲈⲚⲈϤⲈⲚⲦⲞⲖⲎ ⲞⲨⲤⲀⲘⲈⲐⲚⲞⲨϪ ⲠⲈ ⲞⲨⲞϨ ⲐⲘⲎⲒ ϢⲞⲠ ϦⲈⲚⲪⲀⲒ ⲀⲚ
He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.
5 ⲉ̅ ⲪⲎ ⲈⲐⲚⲀⲀⲢⲈϨ ⲈⲠⲈϤⲤⲀϪⲒ ⲀⲖⲎⲐⲰⲤ ϮⲀⲄⲀⲠⲎ ⲚⲦⲈⲪⲚⲞⲨϮ ⲀⲤϪⲰⲔ ⲈⲂⲞⲖ ⲚϦⲢⲎⲒ ϦⲈⲚⲪⲀⲒ ϦⲈⲚⲪⲀⲒ ⲦⲈⲚⲚⲀⲈⲘⲒ ϪⲈ ⲦⲈⲚϢⲞⲠ ⲚϦⲎ ⲦϤ
But whoever keepeth his word, truly in him is the love of God perfected. Hereby we know that we are in him.
6 ⲋ̅ ⲪⲎ ⲈⲦϪⲰ ⲘⲘⲞⲤ ϪⲈ ϮϢⲞⲠ ⲚϦⲎⲦϤ ⲤⲈⲘⲠϢⲀ ⲘⲪⲢⲎϮ ⲈⲦⲀ ⲪⲎ ⲘⲞϢⲒ ⲘⲘⲞϤ ⲚⲦⲈϤⲘⲞϢⲒ ϨⲰϤ ⲘⲠⲀⲒⲢⲎϮ.
He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked.
7 ⲍ̅ ⲚⲀⲘⲈⲚⲢⲀϮ ⲚⲞⲨⲈⲚⲦⲞⲖⲎ ⲘⲂⲈⲢⲒ ⲀⲚ ⲈϮⲤϦⲀⲒ ⲘⲘⲞⲤ ⲚⲰⲦⲈⲚ ⲀⲖⲖⲀ ⲞⲨⲈⲚⲦⲞⲖⲎ ⲚⲀⲠⲀⲤ ⲦⲈ ⲐⲎ ⲈⲚⲀⲤⲚⲦⲈⲚ ⲐⲎⲚⲞⲨ ⲒⲤϪⲈⲚ ϨⲎ ϮⲈⲚⲦⲞⲖⲎ ⲚⲀⲠⲀⲤ ⲠⲒⲤⲀϪⲒ ⲈⲦⲀⲢⲈⲦⲈⲚⲤⲞⲐⲘⲈϤ
Beloved, I write no new commandment to you, but an old commandment, which ye have had from the beginning. The old commandment is the word which ye have heard.
8 ⲏ̅ ⲠⲀⲖⲒⲚ ⲞⲨⲈⲚⲦⲞⲖⲎ ⲘⲂⲈⲢⲒ ⲈϮⲤϦⲀⲒ ⲘⲘⲞⲤ ⲚⲰⲦⲈⲚ ⲐⲎ ⲈⲦⲈ ⲞⲨⲞⲚ ⲞⲨⲘⲈⲐⲘⲎⲒ ϢⲞⲠ ⲚϦⲎⲦⲤ ⲚⲈⲘ ϦⲈⲚⲐⲎⲚⲞⲨ ϪⲈ ⲠⲒⲬⲀⲔⲒ ⲚⲀⲤⲒⲚⲒ ⲠⲒⲞⲨⲰⲒⲚⲒ ⲚⲦⲀⲪⲘⲎⲒ ϨⲎⲆⲎ ϤⲈⲢⲞⲨⲰⲒⲚⲒ.
Again, a new commandment I write to you, which thing is true in him, and in you; because the darkness is passing away, and the true light now shineth.
9 ⲑ̅ ⲪⲎ ⲈⲦϪⲰ ⲘⲘⲞⲤ ϪⲈ ϮϢⲞⲠ ϦⲈⲚⲠⲒⲞⲨⲰⲒⲚⲒ ⲞⲨⲞϨ ϤⲘⲞⲤϮ ⲘⲠⲈϤⲤⲞⲚ ⲀϤⲚϦⲢⲎⲒ ϦⲈⲚⲠⲒⲬⲀⲔⲒ ϢⲀ ϮⲚⲞⲨ
He that saith he is in the light, and hateth his brother, is in the darkness until now.
10 ⲓ̅ ⲪⲎ ⲈⲦⲈⲢⲀⲄⲀⲠⲀⲚ ⲘⲠⲈϤⲤⲞⲚ ⲀϤϢⲞⲠ ϦⲈⲚⲠⲒⲞⲨⲰⲒⲚⲒ ⲞⲨⲞϨ ⲘⲘⲞⲚ ⲤⲔⲀⲚⲆⲀⲖⲞⲚ ϢⲞⲠ ⲚϦⲎⲦϤ
He that loveth his brother abideth in the light, and there is no occasion of stumbling in him;
11 ⲓ̅ⲁ̅ ⲪⲎ ⲈⲐⲘⲞⲤϮ ⲘⲠⲈϤⲤⲞⲚ ⲀϤϦⲈⲚ ⲠⲒⲬⲀⲔⲒ ⲞⲨⲞϨ ⲀϤⲘⲞϢⲒ ϦⲈⲚⲠⲒⲬⲀⲔⲒ ⲞⲨⲞϨ ⲚϤⲤⲰⲞⲨⲚ ⲀⲚ ϪⲈ ⲀϤⲘⲞϢⲒ ⲈⲐⲰⲚ ϪⲈ Ⲁ- ⲠⲒⲬⲀⲔⲒ ⲐⲰⲘ ⲚⲚⲈϤⲂⲀⲖ
but he that hateth his brother is in the darkness, and walketh in the darkness, and knoweth not whither he goeth, because the darkness hath blinded his eyes.
12 ⲓ̅ⲃ̅ ϮⲤϦⲀⲒ ⲚⲰⲦⲈⲚ ⲚⲒϢⲎⲢⲒ ϪⲈ ⲤⲈⲚⲀⲬⲀ ⲚⲈⲦⲈⲚⲚⲞⲂⲒ ⲚⲰⲦⲈⲚ ⲈⲂⲞⲖ ⲈⲐⲂⲈ ⲠⲈϤⲢⲀⲚ
I write to you, my children, because your sins have been forgiven you for his name's sake.
13 ⲓ̅ⲅ̅ ϮⲤϦⲀⲒ ⲚⲰⲦⲈⲚ ⲚⲒⲒⲞϮ ϪⲈ ⲀⲢⲈⲦⲈⲚⲤⲞⲨⲈⲚ ⲪⲎ ⲈⲦϢⲞⲠ ⲒⲤϪⲈⲚ ϨⲎ ϮⲤϦⲀⲒ ⲚⲰⲦⲈⲚ ⲚⲒϦⲈⲖϢⲒⲢⲒ ϪⲈ ⲀⲢⲈⲦⲈⲚϬⲢⲞ ⲈⲠⲒⲠⲞⲚⲎⲢⲞⲤ
I write to you, fathers, because ye know him that was from the beginning. I write to you, young men, because ye have overcome the Evil One. I have written to you, my children, because ye know the Father.
14 ⲓ̅ⲇ̅ ⲀⲒⲤϦⲀⲒ ⲚⲰⲦⲈⲚ ⲚⲒⲀⲖⲰⲞⲨⲒ ϪⲈ ⲀⲢⲈⲦⲈⲚⲤⲞⲨⲈⲚ ⲪⲒⲰⲦ ⲀⲒⲤϦⲀⲒ ⲚⲰⲦⲈⲚ ⲚⲒⲒⲞϮ ϪⲈ ⲀⲢⲈⲦⲈⲚⲤⲞⲨⲈⲚ ⲪⲎ ⲈⲦϢⲰⲠⲒ ⲒⲤϪⲈⲚ ϨⲎ ⲀⲒⲤϦⲀⲒ ⲚⲰⲦⲈⲚ ⲚⲒϦⲈⲖϢⲒⲢⲒ ϪⲈ ⲦⲈⲦⲈⲚϪⲞⲢ ⲞⲨⲞϨ ⲠⲒⲤⲀϪⲒ ⲚⲦⲈⲪⲚⲞⲨϮ ϢⲞⲠ ϦⲈⲚⲐⲎⲚⲞⲨ ⲞⲨⲞϨ ⲀⲦⲈⲦⲈⲚϬⲢⲞ ⲈⲠⲒⲠⲞⲚⲎⲢⲞⲤ

15 ⲓ̅ⲉ̅ ⲘⲠⲈⲢⲘⲈⲚⲢⲈ ⲠⲒⲔⲞⲤⲘⲞⲤ ⲞⲨⲆⲈ ⲚⲎ ⲈⲦϢⲞⲠ ϦⲈⲚⲠⲒⲔⲞⲤⲘⲞⲤ ⲈϢⲰⲠ ⲆⲈ ⲀⲢⲈϢⲀⲚ ⲞⲨⲀⲒ ⲘⲈⲚⲢⲈ ⲠⲒⲔⲞⲤⲘⲞⲤ ϮⲀⲄⲀⲠⲎ ⲚⲦⲈⲪⲒⲰⲦ ϢⲞⲠ ⲚϦⲎⲦϤ ⲀⲚ.
Love not the world, nor the things in the world. If any one loveth the world, the love of the Father is not in him;
16 ⲓ̅ⲋ̅ ϪⲈ ⲈⲚⲬⲀⲒ ⲚⲒⲂⲈⲚ ⲈⲦϦⲈⲚ ⲠⲒⲔⲞⲤⲘⲞⲤ ϮⲈⲠⲒⲐⲨⲘⲒⲀ ⲚⲦⲈϮⲤⲀⲢⲜ ⲚⲈⲘ ϮⲈⲠⲒⲐⲨⲘⲒⲀ ⲚⲦⲈⲚⲒⲂⲀⲖ ⲚⲈⲘ ϮⲘⲈⲦⲢⲈϤϨⲒⲠϨⲞ ⲚⲦⲈⲠⲀⲒⲂⲒⲞⲤ ⲚⲀⲒ ϨⲀⲚⲈⲂⲞⲖ ⲘⲪⲒⲰⲦ ⲀⲚ ⲚⲈⲀⲖⲖⲀ ϨⲀⲚⲈⲂⲞⲖ ϦⲈⲚⲠⲒⲔⲞⲤⲘⲞⲤ ⲚⲈ
because all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.
17 ⲓ̅ⲍ̅ ⲞⲨⲞϨ ⲠⲒⲔⲞⲤⲘⲞⲤ ⲚⲀⲤⲒⲚⲒ ⲚⲈⲘ ⲦⲈϤⲈⲠⲒⲐⲨⲘⲒⲀ ⲪⲎ ⲆⲈ ⲈⲦⲒⲢⲒ ⲘⲪⲞⲨⲰϢ ⲘⲪⲚⲞⲨϮ ϤⲚⲀϢⲰⲠⲒ ϢⲀ ⲈⲚⲈϨ. (aiōn g165)
And the world is passing away, and the lust thereof; but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever. (aiōn g165)
18 ⲓ̅ⲏ̅ ⲚⲒⲀⲖⲰⲞⲨⲒ ⲦϦⲀⲈ ⲚⲞⲨⲚⲞⲨ ⲦⲈ ⲞⲨⲞϨ ⲔⲀⲦⲀ ⲪⲢⲎϮ ⲈⲦⲀⲢⲈⲦⲈⲚⲤⲰⲦⲈⲘ ϪⲈ ⲠⲒⲀⲚⲦⲒⲬⲢⲒⲤⲦⲞⲤ ⲚⲎⲞⲨ ϮⲚⲞⲨ ⲒⲤ ⲞⲨⲘⲎϢ ⲚⲀⲚⲦⲒⲬⲢⲒⲤⲦⲞⲤ ⲀⲨϢⲰⲠⲒ ϦⲈⲚⲪⲀⲒ ⲦⲈⲚⲚⲀⲈⲘⲒ ϪⲈ ⲦϦⲀⲈ ⲚⲞⲨⲚⲞⲨ ⲦⲈ.
My children, the last time is come; and as ye have heard that Antichrist is coming, even now there are many antichrists; whereby we know that the last time is come.

They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would have remained with us; but they went out, that they might be made manifest that they are not all of us.

And ye have an anointing from the Holy One, and know all things.
21 ⲕ̅ⲁ̅ ⲈⲦⲀⲒⲤϦⲀⲒ ⲚⲰⲦⲈⲚ ⲀⲚ ϪⲈ ⲦⲈⲦⲈⲚⲤⲰⲞⲨⲚ ⲚⲐⲘⲎⲒ ⲀⲚ ⲀⲖⲖⲀ ϪⲈ ⲦⲈⲦⲈⲚⲤⲰⲞⲨⲚ ⲘⲘⲞⲤ ϪⲈ ⲤⲀⲘⲈⲐⲚⲞⲨϪ ⲚⲒⲂⲈⲚ ϨⲀⲚⲈⲂⲞⲖ ⲚⲐⲘⲎ ⲒⲀⲚ ⲚⲈ
I have not written to you because ye know not the truth, but because ye know it, and that no lie is of the truth.
22 ⲕ̅ⲃ̅ ⲚⲒⲘ ⲠⲈ ⲠⲒⲤⲀⲘⲈⲐⲚⲞⲨⲚ ⲈⲂⲎⲖ ⲈⲪⲎ ⲈⲦϪⲰⲖ ⲈⲂⲞⲖ ϪⲈ ⲒⲎⲤⲞⲨⲤ ⲀⲚ ⲠⲈ ⲠⲬⲢⲒⲤⲦⲞⲤ ⲪⲀⲒ ⲠⲈ ⲠⲒⲀⲚⲦⲒⲬⲢⲒⲤⲦⲞⲤ ϪⲈ ⲪⲎ ⲈⲦϪⲰⲖ ⲘⲪⲒⲰⲦ ⲈⲂⲞⲖ ϤϪⲰⲖ ⲞⲚ ⲘⲠⲒⲔⲈϢⲎⲢⲒ
Who is the liar, but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? This is the antichrist, who denieth the Father and the Son.
23 ⲕ̅ⲅ̅ ⲞⲨⲞϨ ⲞⲨⲞⲚ ⲚⲒⲂⲈⲚ ⲈⲦϪⲰⲖ ⲘⲠⲒϢⲎⲢⲒ ⲈⲂⲞⲖ ⲠⲒⲔⲈⲒⲰⲦ ⲚⲦⲞⲦϤ ⲀⲚ ⲪⲎ ⲈⲐⲞⲨⲰⲚϨ ⲘⲠⲒϢⲎⲢⲒ ⲈⲂⲞⲖ ⲠⲒⲔⲈⲒⲰⲦ ⲚⲦⲞⲦϤ
Whoever denieth the Son, the same hath not the Father; he that acknowledgeth the Son hath also the Father.
24 ⲕ̅ⲇ̅ ⲚⲐⲰⲦⲈⲚ ϨⲰⲦⲈⲚ ⲪⲎ ⲈⲦⲀⲢⲈⲦⲈⲚⲤⲞⲐⲘⲈϤ ⲒⲤϪⲈⲚ ϨⲎ ⲘⲀⲢⲈϤϢⲰⲠⲒ ϦⲈⲚⲐⲎⲚⲞⲨ ⲈϢⲰⲠ ⲆⲈ ⲀϤϢⲀⲚϢⲰⲠⲒ ϦⲈⲚⲐⲎⲚⲞⲨ ⲚϪⲈⲪⲎ ⲈⲦⲀⲢⲈⲦⲈⲚⲤⲞⲐⲘⲈϤ ⲒⲤϪⲈⲚ ϨⲎ ⲚⲐⲰⲦⲈⲚ ϨⲰⲦⲈⲚ ⲈⲢⲈⲦⲈⲚⲈϢⲰⲠⲒ ϦⲈⲚⲠⲒϢⲎⲢⲒ ⲚⲈⲘ ⲪⲒⲰⲦ
As for you, let that which ye have heard from the beginning abide in you. If that which ye have heard from the beginning shall abide in you, ye also will abide in the Son, and in the Father.
25 ⲕ̅ⲉ̅ ⲪⲀⲒ ⲠⲈ ⲠⲒⲰϢ ⲪⲎ ⲚⲐⲞϤ ⲈⲦⲀϤⲰϢ ⲘⲘⲞϤ ⲚⲀⲚ ⲠⲒⲰⲚϦ ⲚⲈⲚⲈϨ (aiōnios g166)
And this is the promise which he himself promised us, even the life everlasting. (aiōnios g166)
26 ⲕ̅ⲋ̅ ⲚⲀⲒ ⲀⲒⲤϦⲎⲦⲞⲨ ⲚⲰⲦⲈⲚ ⲈⲐⲂⲈ ⲚⲎ ⲈⲦⲤⲰⲢⲈⲘ ⲘⲘⲰⲦⲈⲚ
These things I have written to you concerning those who seduce you.
27 ⲕ̅ⲍ̅ ⲞⲨⲞϨ ⲚⲐⲰⲦⲈⲚ ⲠⲒⲐⲰϨⲤ ⲈⲦⲀⲢⲈⲦⲈⲚϬⲒⲦϤ ⲚⲦⲞⲦϤ ϤϢⲞⲠ ϦⲈⲚⲐⲎⲚⲞⲨ ⲞⲨⲞϨ ⲚⲦⲈⲦⲈⲚⲈⲢⲬⲢⲒⲀ ⲀⲚ ⲈⲤϦⲀⲒ ⲚⲰⲦⲈⲚ ⲒⲈ ⲚⲦⲈⲞⲨⲀⲒ ϮⲤⲂⲰ ⲚⲰⲦⲈⲚ ⲀⲖⲖⲀ ⲘⲪⲢⲎϮ ⲈⲦⲈ ⲠⲀⲒⲠⲚⲈⲨⲘⲀⲢⲰ ϮⲤⲂⲰ ⲚⲰⲦⲈⲚ ⲈⲐⲂⲈ ϨⲰⲂ ⲚⲒⲂⲈⲚ ⲞⲨⲞϨ ⲞⲨⲐⲘⲎⲒ ⲠⲈ ⲞⲨⲤⲀⲘⲈⲐⲚⲞⲨϪ ⲀⲚ ⲠⲈ ⲔⲀⲦⲀ ⲪⲢⲎϮ ⲈⲦⲀϤⲦⲤⲀⲂⲈ ⲐⲎⲚⲞⲨ ϢⲰⲠⲒ ⲚϦⲎⲦϤ
And the anointing which ye yourselves received from him abideth in you, and ye have no need that any one teach you; but as his anointing teacheth you concerning all things, and is truth, and is not a lie, even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him.
28 ⲕ̅ⲏ̅ ⲞⲨⲞϨ ϮⲚⲞⲨ ⲞⲚ ⲚⲀϢⲎⲢⲒ ϢⲰⲠⲒ ⲚϦⲎⲦϤ ϨⲒⲚⲀ ⲀϤϢⲀⲚⲞⲨⲞⲚϨ ⲈⲂⲞⲖ ⲦⲈⲦⲈⲚⲚⲀϬ ⲒⲚⲞⲨⲠⲀⲢⲢⲎⲤⲒⲀ ⲚⲦⲈⲦⲈⲚϢⲦⲈⲘϬⲒϢⲒⲠⲒ ⲚⲦⲞⲦϤ ϦⲈⲚⲦⲈϤⲠⲀⲢⲞⲨⲤⲒⲀ
And now, my children, abide in him; that when he shall appear, we may have confidence, and not be ashamed before him at his coming.
29 ⲕ̅ⲑ̅ ⲈϢⲰⲠ ⲀⲢⲈⲦⲈⲚϢⲀⲚⲚⲀⲨ ϪⲈ ⲞⲨⲐⲘⲎⲒ ⲠⲈ ⲀⲢⲒⲈⲘⲒ ϪⲈ ⲞⲨⲞⲚ ⲚⲒⲂⲈⲚ ⲈⲦⲒⲢⲒ ⲚϮⲘⲈⲐⲘⲎ ⲒⲈⲦⲀⲨⲘⲀⲤϤ ⲈⲂⲞⲖ ⲚϦⲎⲦϤ.
