1 Nipele Mbumu jwa Akunnungu jwanlongwesye Che Yesu mwikonde kuti alinjikwe ni Shetani.
Then Jesus was led by the Spirit into the desert to be tempted by the devil.
2 Paŵatemi pangalya moŵa alobaini muusi ni chilo, mbesi jakwe jakwete sala.
After fasting forty days and nights, he was hungry.
3 Nipele Shetani ŵannyichilile, ni ŵansalile, “Iŵaga mmwe ndi Mwana jwa Akunnungu ngasalile aga maganga gagalauche gaŵe mikate.”
The tempter came and said to him, “If you really are the Son of God, order these stones to turn into bread.”
4 Che Yesu ŵajanjile, “Ilembekwe mu Malembelo ga Akunnungu kuti, ‘Mundu ngakulama ni nkate pe, nambo kwa liloŵe lyalili lyose lyakuŵecheta Akunnungu.’”
Jesus answered, “As Scripture says, ‘Human beings do not live by only eating bread, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God.’”
5 Nipele, Shetani ŵanjigele Che Yesu mpaka ku Yelusalemu pa musi wa Akunnungu, ŵammisile penani pa lusonga lwa Nyuumba ja Akunnungu,
Then the devil took him to the holy city and placed him on the top of the Temple.
6 ŵaasalile, “Iŵaga mmwe ndi Mwana jwa Akunnungu, nliponye paasi pakuŵa ilembekwe, ‘Akunnungu chachatuma achikatumetume ŵao ŵa kwinani kwa ligongo lyenu, channyakule mmakono mwao, ntakuligomba lukongolo lwenu pa liganga.’”
“If you really are the son of God, then throw yourself off,” he told Jesus. “As Scripture says, ‘He will order his angels to save you from harm. They will catch you so that you won't fall by tripping over a stone.’”
7 Che Yesu ŵajanjile, “Ilembekwe sooni mu Malembelo ga Akunnungu, ‘Nkaalinga Ambuje Akunnungu ŵenu.’”
Jesus answered, “As Scripture also says, ‘You shall not tempt the Lord your God.’”
8 Nipele Shetani ŵanjigele Che Yesu sooni ku chitumbi cheleu ni kwalosya mwenye syose sya chilambo ni ukulu wakwe.
Then the devil took Jesus to a very high mountain and showed him all the kingdoms of the world in all their glory.
9 Ŵansalile, “Ni yose yi chinampe ni kuŵa yenu iŵaga chimundindiŵalile ni kumbopelela.”
He said to Jesus, “I will give you all these if you fall down on your knees and worship me.”
10 Pelepo, Che Yesu ŵanjanjile, “Shetani ngambe kwaula! Ilembekwe mu Malembelo ga Akunnungu, ‘Chimwatindiŵalile Ambuje Akunnungu ŵenu ni kwapopelela ŵawowo pewo.’”
“Go away, Satan!” said Jesus. “As Scripture says, ‘You shall worship the Lord your God and serve him, and him alone.’”
11 Nipele Shetani, ŵannesile Che Yesu, ni ŵaiche achikatumetume ŵa kwinani ni kwatumichila.
Then the devil left him, and angels came to care for him.
12 Che Yesu paŵapilikene kuti che Yohana ataŵikwe mu nyuumba jakutaŵilwa ŵandu, ŵajawile ku Galilaya.
When Jesus heard that John had been arrested, he returned to Galilee.
13 Ŵatyosile ku Nasaleti ni kwaula kutama ku Kapelenaumu musi wauli mbwani ja litanda lya Galilaya, mu chilambo cha Sabuloni ni Nafutali.
Leaving Nazareth, he came to stay in Capernaum, on the shores of the sea in the regions of Zebulun and Naphthali.
14 Yeleyo ni ilyatite pakuŵa isyene liloŵe lilyaŵechetekwe kwa litala lya che Isaya jwakulondola jwa Akunnungu,
This fulfilled what Isaiah the prophet said,
15 “Chilambo cha ku Sabuloni ni chilambo cha ku Nafutali, litala lyalikwaula ku bahali, peesi lusulo lwa Yolodani, ku Galilaya, chilambo cha ŵandu ŵangaŵa Ŵayahudi!
“In the land of Zebulun and the land of Naphthali, on the road to the sea, across the Jordan River, in Galilee where the foreigners live:
16 Ŵandu ŵakutama mu chipi chaliwone lilanguka lyalikulungwa. Nombe ŵandu ŵakutamanga pa chilambo cha chipi ni pa mmwilili wa chiwa, lilanguka chilyalanguchisye!”
The people living in darkness saw a great light; the light of dawn has shined on those living in the land of the shadow of death.”
17 Kutandilila kele katema Che Yesu ŵatandite kulalichila achitiji, “Nneche sambi, pakuŵa Umwenye wa kwinani uŵandichile!”
From that time on Jesus began declaring his message, saying, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven has arrived!”
18 Che Yesu paŵajimajimaga mungulugulu litanda lya Galilaya, ŵaweni ŵanakajumo ŵaŵili ŵakukoka, che Simoni jwakuŵilanjikwa che Petulo ni che Andulea mpwakwe. Ŵaliji mu litanda aninkukoka somba kwa lwau pakuŵa ŵaliji ŵakukoka somba.
As he was walking by the sea of Galilee Jesus saw two brothers. Simon, also called Peter, and his brother Andrew, were casting a net in the sea. They made their living by catching fish.
19 Che Yesu ŵaasalile, “Munguye, none chinantende ŵanyamwe mme ŵakwaikanawo ŵandu kwa Ambuje.”
“Come and follow me, and I will teach you how to catch people,” he told them.
20 Papopo ŵalesile nyau syao ni kwakuya.
They left their nets immediately and followed him.
21 Paŵajawile mmbujo kanandi ŵaweni ŵanakajumo ŵane ŵaŵili che Yakobo ni che Yohana ŵanache ŵa che Sebedayo. Ŵanyawo ŵaliji mu ngalaŵa pampepe ni che Sebedayo atati ŵao aninkusaula nyau syao. Nipele Che Yesu ŵaaŵilasile.
Continuing on he saw two other brothers, James and John. They were in a boat with their father Zebedee, mending their nets. He called them to follow him.
22 Papopo ŵajilesile ngalaŵa jila pamo ni atati ŵao, ni kwakuya.
They left the boat and their father immediately, and followed him.
23 Che Yesu ŵajaulaga papalipose pala mu chilambo cha ku Galilaya, achijiganyaga mmajumba ga kupopelela ni kulalichila Ngani Jambone ja Umwenye wa Akunnungu. Ŵalamisye ŵandu ilwele yakupisyangana iŵaliji nayo.
Jesus traveled throughout Galilee, teaching in the synagogues, telling the good news of the kingdom, and healing all the diseases and illnesses the people had.
24 Ngani syakwe syajenele mbande syose sya ku Silia. Ŵakulwala wose ŵaŵaliji ni ilwele yakupisyangana ni aŵala ŵakulaga, ŵaŵakamwilwe ni masoka ni ŵaali ni njilinjili ni ŵandu ŵakulemala ŵajawisye kweleko nombewo ŵalamisye ŵana wose.
News about him spread throughout the province of Syria. They brought everyone who was sick to him: people troubled by seizures, the demon-possessed, those who were mentally ill, people who were paralyzed, and he healed all of them.
25 Mipingo ja ŵandu achajinji kutyochela ku Galilaya ni ku Dekapoli yaani misi likumi ni ku Yelusalemu ni ku Yudea ni peesi lusulo lwa Yolodani ŵankuiye.
Large crowds followed him from Galilee, Decapolis, Jerusalem, Judea, and the region beyond Jordan.
