1 Mafalisayo ŵampepe ni jwakwiganya Malajisyo ŵaŵatyochele ku Yelusalemu ŵasongangene paujo pa Che Yesu.
One day the Pharisees came to him in a body with some Scribes who had come from Jerusalem.
2 Ŵanyawo ŵaweni ŵakulijiganya ŵampepe ŵa Che Yesu akulya panganaŵa makono mpela iyasachilwaga ni Malajisyo ga Chiyahudi.
They had noticed that some of his disciples were eating with "common," that is to say, unwashed hands.
3 Pakuŵa, Mafalisayo ni Ŵayahudi wose ngakulya chakulya panganaŵa mmakono, mpaka pachisukusuku achikamulisyaga masyoŵelo ga achachekulu ŵachiikala.
For the Pharisees and all of the Jews do not eat until they have ceremoniously washed their hands in obedience to the tradition of the elders;
4 Sooni paakutyokanga pakusumichisya malonda ngakulya chachilichose pangajosya kaje. Nombe akugakuyanga masyoŵelo gamajinji gaŵapochele kutyochela kwa achachekulu, mpela ila yakuti pakosya migao ni iteleko ni yoombo ya libati.
and when they come from the market-place they do not eat without bathing first. and they have many other customs which they have received and observe, such as the washing of cups and jugs and copper pans.
5 Nipele Mafalisayo ni Ŵakwiganya Malajisyo ŵala ŵausisye Che Yesu, “Kwachichi ŵakulijiganya ŵenu ngakugakuya masyoŵelo gitupochele kwa achachekulu ŵetu, nambo akwamba kulya chakulya mmakono muli musakele?”
So the Pharisees and Scribes asked him. "Why do your disciples not follow the traditions of the elders? Why do they eat with ‘common’ unwashed hands?"
6 Che Yesu ŵajanjile, “Ŵaulamba ŵanyamwe! Che Isaya, jwakulondola jwa Akunnungu, ŵalondwele yambone pa ŵanyamwe mpela iŵatite pakulemba, ‘Akunnungu akuti, ŵandu ŵa akunjimbichisyanga pakang'wa pe, nambo mmitima jao ali kwakutalikangana ni une.
"Well did Isaiah prophesy of you, hypocrites," he answered. "As it is written, "This people honor me with their lips, While their hearts are far from me;
7 Kumbopelela kwao kwangali chindu, ligongo akwiganya malajisyo ga ŵandu mpela ila akugajiganya Malajisyo ga Akunnungu.’
But in vain do they worship me, For their teaching is only human precepts.
8 “Ŵanyamwe nkugaleka Malajisyo ga Akunnungu ni kugakamulisya masyoŵelo ga ŵandu.”
"You neglect the commandment of God, and hold fast the traditions of men."
9 Che Yesu ŵapundile kuŵecheta, “Ŵanyamwe nkumanyi kukana kwa lunda lwenu Malajisyo ga Akunnungu kuti ngakuye masyoŵelo genu mwachinsyene!
"It is praiseworthy, is it," he exclaimed, "to reject the command of God that you may keep your tradition!
10 Pakuŵa che Musa ŵalajisye, ‘Mwachimbichisye atati ŵenu ni achikulu ŵenu,’ ni, ‘Mundu jwalijose juchantukane atatigwe pane achikulugwe, aulajikwe.’
For although Moses said, Honor your father and mother, and Let him who curses father or mother suffer death,
11 Nambo ŵanyamwe nkwiganya, iŵaga mundu akwete chindu chakombola kwakamuchisya achikulugwe pane atatigwe, nambo nkuti chindu cho chili ‘Kolibani’, malumbo gakwe chindu cho chityosyekwe sadaka kwa Akunnungu,
you say that if a man tells his father or mother, ‘This money which otherwise you would have received from me, is Korban’ (that is, a thing devoted to God),
12 nipele mundu jo ngakusachilwa sooni kwakamuchisya atatigwe pane achikulugwe.
you exempt him from doing any service for his father or mother.
13 Yeleyo ni inkuti pakulijalusya Liloŵe lya Akunnungu kwa masyoŵelo ginkujiganyana. Ni sooni nkugatendekanya gamajinji ganti iyoyo.”
Thus by your tradition which you have handed down you set at naught the word of God; and you do many other things like that."
14 Che Yesu ŵauŵilasile sooni mpingo wekulungwa wa ŵandu ula ni kwasalila, “Mumbikanichisye wose, ni mmanyilile.
Then again he called the crowd to him and said.
15 Ngapagwa chakulya chaakulya mundu, chachikuntendekasya aŵe jwangakundikwa ni Akunnungu. Nambo chachikukopoka nkati mwa mundu, ni chachikuntendekasya mundu jo aŵe jwangakundikwa ni Akunnungu.
"Listen to me, all of you, and understand; there is nothing outside a man which by entering in can defile him; but it is what comes from him that defiled him."
16 Ŵaali ni mapilikanilo gakupilikana, apilikane!”
17 Paŵalekangene ni ŵandu ŵala ni kwinjila mu nyuumba, ŵakulijiganya ŵao ŵambusisye malumbo ga chitagu cho.
After he had left the crowd and gone indoors his disciples began asking him about the parable.
18 Nombe Che Yesu ŵaasalile, “Ni ŵanyamwe nganinkola umanyilisi? Ana ngankumanyilila kuti chakulya chaakulya mundu ngachikukombola kuntendekasya aŵe jwangakundikwa ni Akunnungu?
"Are even you without understanding?" he said. "Do you not perceive that nothing whatever from without can defile a man by entering him,
19 Pakuŵa ngachikwinjila mu ntima mwakwe, nambo mlutumbo ni chikukopoka paasa pa chiilu pakwe.” Paŵaŵechete yeleyo Che Yesu ŵaitesile yakulya yose ikomboleche kuligwa.
because it does not go into his heart, but into his belly, and passes away, ejected from him?" By these words he pronounced all foods clean.
20 Ŵapundile kuŵecheta, “Chachikukopoka nkati mwa mundu ni chachikuntendekasya mundu jo aŵe jwangakundikwa ni Akunnungu.
"What comes out of a man," he continued, "is what defiles him.
21 Pakuŵa mu ntima mwa mundu ni mwamukukopoka ng'anisyo syangalimate, ni chikululu ni wiyi ni uulasi,
From within, from the heart of man, proceed evil purposes -
22 ni chikululu ni lipamo ni ungalumbana ni kulambusya ni kunyenga ni wiu ni kutukana ni chibuli ni kuloŵela.
fornication, theft, murder, adultery, greed, malice, deceit, wantonness, envy, slander, arrogance, reckless folly -
23 Yangalumbana yose yo, ikukopoka nkati mwa mundu, yose yo ni yaikuntendekasya mundu aŵe jwangakundikwa ni Akunnungu.”
all these wicked things issue from within and defile a man."
24 Che Yesu ŵatyosile pelepo, ŵajawile mu mmusi wauŵandikene ni ku Tilo. Ni kweleko ŵajinjile mu nyuumba jimo ni nganasaka mundu jwalijose aimanyilile, nambo nganakombola kulisisa.
After he rose and left that place, he went away into the region of Tyre and Sidon. Here he went into a house and wished no one to know it but he could not be hid.
25 Jwankongwe jumo, juŵaliji ni mwali juŵakamwilwe ni lisoka, ŵapilikene ngani si Che Yesu. Ni ŵaajaulile ni kuligwisya pa makongolo gao.
Forthwith a woman whose little daughter was possessed by an unclean spirit, heard of him, and came and fell at his feet
26 Jwankongwe jo ŵaliji Mgiliki ni nganaŵa Myahudi, juŵapagwile musi wa ku Silofonike ku chilambo cha ku Silia. Ŵaachondelele Che Yesu akankoposye mwali jwao lisoka.
(the woman was a Greek, a Syro-phoenician by race), and again and again she begged him to cast the demon out of her daughter.
27 Nambo Che Yesu ŵajanjile, “Ajikute kaje ŵanache, pakuŵa ngaŵa yambone kwigala chakulya cha ŵanache ni kusijasila mbwa syao.”
"Let the children be filled first," he said to her. "It is unseemly to take the children’s bread and throw it to the dogs."
28 Nambo jwankongwe jo ŵatite, “Elo, Ambuje, nambo ngati atamuno mbwa syasikutama kuusi mesa, sikulya mbakatika syakusigwisya ŵanache.”
"True, Master," she answered, "but the dogs under the table do pick up the children’s crumbs."
29 Pelepo Che Yesu ŵasalile, “Kwaligongo lya intite pakwanga, njaule kumusi. Lisoka linkopweche mwali jwenu.”
"For that saying of yours, go home," he replied; "the demon has departed from your daughter."
30 Nipele jwankongwe jo ŵausile kumangwao, ŵansimene mwanagwe agonile pachindanda ni lisoka lili linkopweche.
So she went home, and found the child lying in her bed and the demon departed.
31 Nipele Che Yesu ŵatyosile ku chilambo cha ku Tilo ni kwaula ku litanda lya Galilaya achipitilaga ku Sidoni ni ku Dekapoli.
Again he left the region of Tyre, and passed through Sidon to the Sea of Galilee, crossing the District of the Ten Towns.
32 Ŵaiche ŵandu ŵampepe ali anjigele mundu juŵaliji jwangapikana ni jwangaŵecheta, ŵaachondelele Che Yesu ansajichile makono mundu jo ni kunlamya.
And they brought to him a deaf man who stammered, and begged him to lay his hands upon him.
33 Che Yesu ŵantyosisye mundu jo mu mpingo wa ŵandu ni kunjausya pangali ŵandu, ŵaŵisile yala mmapilikanilo ga mundu jula. Ŵasunile mata pa chaala chakwe ni kunkwaya lulimi mundu jula.
So Jesus took him aside from the crowd, by himself, and put his finger in the man’s ears, and moistened his tongue with saliva;
34 Nipele Che Yesu ŵalolite kwinani kwa Akunnungu ni kwisya ntima, ŵansalile mundu jo, “Efata,” malumbo gakwe “Mbuguche.”
then looking up to heaven with a sigh, he said to him, "Ephphatha!" (that is, "Be opened.")
35 Papopo mapilikanilo ga mundu jula gaugwiche ni lulimi lwakwe lwagopweche, nipele ŵatandite kuŵecheta uchenene.
And his ears were opened and the bond of his tongue was loosened, and he spoke plainly.
36 Che Yesu ŵakanyisye ŵandu ŵala kuti akansalila mundu jwalijose yelei. Namuno ŵapundile kwakanyisya, ŵanyawo ŵapundisye kuijenesya yeleyo.
Then Jesus charged them not to tell any one, but the more he charged them, the more they published it;
37 Ni ŵandu ŵasimosile nnope ni kuti, “Atesile yose mwambonepe, namose ŵangapilikana akwatenda apilikane ni ŵangaŵecheta akwatenda aŵechete!”
and people were amazed beyond measure saying. "How successfully he does things! Even the deaf he makes to hear, and the dumb to speak."
