1 Kundaŵi pe, achakulu ŵambopesi ni achachekulu ni ŵakwiganya Malajisyo, pamo ni Nkungulu wose, ŵatemi, ŵajilene kunjausya Che Yesu ku che Pilato. Nipele ŵantaŵile, ni kunjausya ku che Pilato.
As soon as it was down, after the high priests had conferred with the elders and the whole Sanhedrin, they bound Jesus, and took him away, and handed him over to Pilate.
2 Che Pilato ŵammusisye Che Yesu, “Ana mmweji ndi mwenye jwa Ŵayahudi?” Che Yesu ŵajanjile, “Elo, mpela mmwejo intite pakuŵecheta.”
Pilate questioned him, "Are you the King of the Jews?" In reply Jesus said, "It is as you say."
3 Achakulu ŵambopesi ŵaŵechetele Che Yesu maloŵe gamajinji.
When the chief priests continued making many accusations against him, Pilate repeatedly questioned him.
4 Che Pilato ŵammusisye sooni Che Yesu, “Ana ngakwanga chachili chose? Mpilikane maloŵe gose gakummechetela ga.”
"Do you make no answer?" he said,
5 Nambo Che Yesu nganajanga liloŵe, mpaka che Pilato ŵasimosile.
"See, how many accusations they are making." But Jesus no longer made any answer, at which Pilate wondered.
6 Pa katema ka chindimba cha Pasaka, che Pilato ŵasyoŵelele kwagopolela jwataŵikwe juŵansachile ŵandu.
Now at the time of the feast it was customary to release to them a prisoner, whatever one they asked for.
7 Kwaliji ni jwataŵikwe jumo, liina lyakwe che Balaba, juŵaliji ataŵikwe pamo ni ŵandu ŵane ŵaŵatandisye utindiganyo ni kwaulaga ŵandu ŵane.
A man named Barabbas was there in prison, with some rioters who had committed murder during an uprising.
8 Mpingo wa ŵandu waichilile che Pilato, ŵatandite kwaŵenda ŵapanganyichisye mpela iŵatendaga.
So when the crowd went up and began asking Pilate to follow his usual custom,
9 Che Pilato ŵausisye, “Ana nkusaka nangopolele Mwenye jwa Ŵayahudi?”
he asked them, "Do you wish me to release the King of the Jews?"
10 Che Pilato ŵatite yeleyo pakuŵa ŵaimanyilile kuti, achakulu ŵambopesi ŵannyichisye Che Yesu kukwao ligongo lya kwakolela wiu.
For he recognized that it was through spite that the high priests had handed him over.
11 Nambo achakulu ŵambopesi ŵala, ŵachisisye ŵandu ŵaŵende che Pilato ŵagopolele che Balaba pamalo pa Che Yesu.
But the chief priests incited the crowds to have Barabbas released to them, instead.
12 Che Pilato ŵausisye ŵandu sooni, “Sambano, nkusaka naapanganyichisye ichichi aju mundu junkuti Mwenye jwa Ŵayahudi?”
So Pilate spoke to them once more, "What them shall I do to him you call ‘King of the Jews’?"
13 Ŵanyanyisye sooni achitiji, “Mwaŵambe pa nsalaba!”
Then they shouted again, "Crucify him!"
14 Nambo che Pilato ŵausisye, “Atesile chakusakala chanti uli?” Nambo ŵanyawo ŵapundile kunyanyisya achitiji, “Mwaŵambe pa nsalaba!”
"Why, what wrong has he done?" Pilate kept saying. But they shouted furiously, "Crucify him!"
15 Che Pilato ŵasachile kwanonyelesya ŵandu, ŵagopolele che Balaba. Nipele ŵalamwile Che Yesu aputikwe mbokola ni kwapa ŵaŵambe pa nsalaba.
So Pilate, who wished to make himself strong with the crowd, released Barabbas to them, and gave Jesus over for crucifixion, after he had scourged him.
16 Ŵangondo ŵanjawisye Che Yesu pa nsana wa likome li che Pilato, jwankulu jwa chilambo. Ŵausimanisye mpingo wose wa ŵangondo.
The soldiers then led him away into the courtyard (Praetorium), and called together the whole battalion.
17 Ŵambwasisye mwinjilo wa sambalau nti mwenye, ŵakolosisye chindu mpela singwa ja miiŵa, ŵambwasisye mu ntwe.
They clothed Jesus in purple, and plaited a crown of thorns, and placed it on his head.
18 Nipele ŵatandite kunkomasya achitiji, “Kutusimana, Mwenye jwa Ŵayahudi!”
Then they began to salute him. "Hail, King of the Jews," they said.
19 Ŵamputile pa ntwe ni lubokola lwa nnasi, ŵansunile mata, ŵantindiŵalile ni kwakotamila.
They kept striking him on the head with a rod, and spitting upon him; and on bended knee they did him homage.
20 Paŵamasile kwachembulusya, ŵammusile mwinjilo wa sambalau ni kwawasya iwalo yao. Nipele ŵantyosisye paasa ni kwaŵamba pa nsalaba.
And after their sport with him, they stripped off the purple robe, and put on his own clothes, and led him out to crucify him.
21 Paŵaliji mwitala, ŵasimene ni mundu liina lyao che Simoni, jwa ku Kulene jwaŵaliji atati ŵa che Alekisanda ni che Lufo. Jweleju ŵatyochelaga kunsinda kwinjila mmusi. Ŵangondo ŵankanganichisye atwichile nsalaba uŵajigele Che Yesu ula.

22 Nipele ŵanjigele Che Yesu mpaka peuto papaŵilanjikwe Goligota, malumbo gakwe, “Peuto papakuloleka nti, Chikalakasa cha Ntwe.”
So they led him to the place called Golgotha - a name which means "the place of a skull."
23 Pelepo, ŵampele divai jewanganye ni ntela waukuŵilanjikwa manemane, nambo Che Yesu ŵakanile kung'wa.
There they attempted to give him wine mingled with myrrh; but he refused it.

Then they crucified him, and divided his garments among them, casting lots upon them to see what each should take.

And the passers-by kept jeering at him, wagging their heads and saying. "Ah! you who were to ‘destroy the sanctuary and rebuild it in three days,’ save yourself!
30 Sambano, ntuluche pa nsalaba, ndikulupusye mwasyene!”
Come down from the cross!
31 Iyoyo peyo achakulu ŵambopesi ni ŵakwiganya Malajisyo wala ŵanchembulwisye achisalilanaga, “Ŵakulupwisye ŵandu ŵane, nambo ngakukombola kulikulupusya nsyene!
In the same way the high priests also, as well as the Scribes, kept on mocking him to themselves. "He saved others," they said, "but himself he cannot save.
32 Nneche twalole Kilisito, Mwenye jwa Isilaeli!
The Christ! The King of Israel! Let him now come down from the cross, that we may see and believe." They also who had been crucified with Jesus kept reviling him.

37 Nipele Che Yesu ŵanyanyisye ni ŵajasiche.
But Jesus uttered a loud cry and expired.
