< Maliko 12 >
Then Jesus began to speak to them using illustrated stories. “Once there was a man who planted a vineyard. He put a fence around it, dug a pit for a winepress, and built a watchtower. Then he leased it to some farmers, and left on a journey.
When harvest-time came, he sent one of his servants to the tenant farmers to collect some of the grapes from the vineyard.
3 Ŵakulima ŵala ŵankamwile kapolo jo, ŵamputile ni kumminga makono pe.
But they grabbed hold of him, beat him up, and sent him away with nothing.
4 Nipele nsyene ngunda jula, ŵantumile sooni kapolo jwine.
So the man sent another servant. They hit him over the head and abused him.
5 Iyoyo peyo, nsyene ngunda jo ŵantumile sooni kapolo jwine, jwelejo ŵagambile kumbulaga. Ni ŵane ŵajinji uŵatumikwe, ŵane ŵaputikwe ni ŵane ŵaulajikwe.”
He sent another servant, and this one they killed. He sent many other servants, and they beat some of them and killed others.
6 Che Yesu ŵajendelechele kuŵecheta, “Mundu jula ŵasigalilwe ni mundu jumo, mwanagwe jwakunonyelwa. Mbesi jakwe ŵantumile jwelejo achitiji, ‘Champikanile pakuŵa ali mwanangu.’
In the end the only one left was his son whom he loved, and eventually he sent him, thinking ‘They will respect my son.’
7 “Nambo ŵakulima ŵala paŵammweni ŵaŵechetesyene achitiji, ‘Aju ni juchapochele iŵagosele, twende tummulaje kuti indu iŵagosele tujigale uwe!’
But the farmers said to themselves, ‘Here's the owner's heir—if we kill him, we can get what he would have inherited!’
So they took him and killed him, and threw him out of the vineyard.
9 Che Yesu ŵausisye, “Nipele, ana nsyene ngunda wo chaachitenda chichi? Chaiche ni kwaulaga ŵakulima wo ni kwapa ŵakulima ŵane ngunda wa misabibu wo.
Now what is the owner of the vineyard going to do? He will come and kill those farmers, and then he will lease the vineyard to others.
10 Ana nganinsyome Mmalembelo ga Akunnungu? ‘Liganga liŵalikanile ŵakutaŵa sambano, lilyolyo litendekwe liganga lyekulungwa lya nsingi.
Haven't you even read this Scripture: ‘The stone rejected by the builders has become the chief cornerstone.
11 Ambuje ni ŵachitesile chindu chi, nombecho chikutusimosya!’”
This is from the Lord, and it's marvelous to see!’”
12 Achakulu ŵambopesi ni ŵakwiganya Malajisyo ni achachekulu, ŵaimanyi kuti chitagu cho chaliji nkwagamba ŵanyawo. Ŵasachile ŵakamule Che Yesu, nambo ŵajogwepe ŵandu, ŵannesile, ni ŵanyawo ŵatyosile.
The Jewish leaders tried to have him arrested because they realized that the illustration was directed at them, but they were afraid of the crowd. So they left him alone and went away.
13 Kanyuma, Mafalisayo ŵampepe ni ŵandu ŵa mpingo u che Helode, ŵatumikwe kuti akaatanjisye Che Yesu kwa maloŵe gao.
Later they sent some Pharisees with some of Herod's supporters to Jesus in an attempt to catch him out by what he said.
14 Ŵaajaulile ni kwasalila, “Jwakwiganya, tukumanyilila kuti alakwe ni mundu junkuŵecheta yaili isyene, pakuŵa ngankogopa ukulu wa mundu namose nganinkola lusagu, nambo nkwiganya usyene wa litala lya Akunnungu. Ntusalile, ana ili yambone pane ngaŵa yambone kwausya nsongo kwa Mwenye jwa ku Loma? Tujaule tukalipe pane tunajaule?”
They arrived and said, “Teacher, we know you are a truthful person and you don't look for approval, because you don't care about status or position. Instead you teach God's way in accordance with the truth. So is it right to pay tribute to Caesar or not?
15 Nambo Che Yesu ŵaumayilile ulamba wao, ŵausisye, “Kwachichi nkuuninga? Muunyichisye mbiya najilole.”
Should we pay up, or should we refuse?” Jesus, realizing how hypocritical they were, asked them, “Why are you trying to catch me out? Bring me a coin to look at.”
They gave him a coin. “Whose is this image, and whose inscription?” Jesus asked them. “Caesar's,” they replied.
17 Nipele Che Yesu ŵaasalile, “Yaili ya Mwenye jwa ku Loma mwapeje Mwenye jwa ku Loma ni yaili ya Akunnungu mwapeje Akunnungu.” Ŵandu ŵala ŵansimosile nnope Che Yesu.
“Then give back to Caesar what belongs to him, and give back to God what belongs to him,” Jesus told them. They were amazed at his reply.
18 Nipele Masadukayo ŵakuti ngapagwa kusyuka ŵanjaulile Che Yesu ni kummusya,
Then the Sadducees, who deny the resurrection, came and asked a question:
19 “Jwakwiganya, che Musa ŵatulembele kuti, ‘Mundu awililwagwa ni mpwakwe ni mundu jwawile jo annekaga ŵankwakwe pangali ŵanache, mpwakwe mundu jo akusachilwa annombele jwakuwililwa jo kuti ammelechele mpwakwe ŵanache.’
“Teacher, Moses instructed us that if a man dies, leaving his widow childless, then his brother should marry his wife, and have children by her on his behalf.
20 Tujileje, ŵapali achachanda nsano ni ŵaŵili, jwa kwitiwo ŵalombele nambo ŵawile pangaleka mwanache.
Once there were seven brothers. The first one got married, and then died without having children.
21 Ni jwaaŵili ŵajinjile majuumba, nombejo ŵawile pangaleka mwanache. Yakopochele iyoyo ni kwa mpwakwe jwaatatu.
The second married his widow, and then died, childless. The third did the same.
22 Wose nsano ni ŵaŵili wo, ŵawile pangaleka ŵanache. Mbesi jakwe jwankongwe jo ŵawile nombejo.
In fact all seven died without having children. In the end the woman died too.
23 Nipele, pa lyuŵa lya kusyuka kwa ŵandu, jwankongwe jo chachiŵa jwa ŵaani? Pakuŵa achalongo wose nsano ni ŵaŵili ŵala ŵannombele jwelejo.”
In the resurrection, whose wife will she be, because she was the wife of all seven brothers?”
24 Che Yesu ŵaasalile, “Ŵanyamwe nsochele, ligongo ngankugamanyilila Malembelo ga Akunnungu namose machili ga Akunnungu.
Jesus told them, “This proves you're mistaken, and that you don't know the Scriptures or the power of God.
25 Ŵandu ŵawile pachachisyuka, ngasalombela atamuno kulombwa, chachiŵa mpela achikatumetume ŵa kwinani.
When the dead rise, they don't marry, and aren't given in marriage. They're like the angels in heaven.
26 Nambo ngani jankati kusyuka kwa ŵandu ŵawile, ana nganinsyome mmalembo ga che Musa, ngani ja chisukutu chichakolelaga mooto? Akunnungu ŵansalile che Musa, ‘Une ndili Akunnungu ŵa che Iblahimu ni Akunnungu ŵa che Isaka ni Akunnungu ŵa che Yakobo.’
But concerning the resurrection, haven't you read in Moses' writings the story of the burning bush, where God spoke to Moses and told him, ‘I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob?’
27 Nipele, ŵelewo nganaŵa Akunnungu ŵa ŵandu ŵawile, nambo ali Akunnungu ŵa ŵandu ŵajumi. Ŵanyamwe nsochele nnope.”
He's not the God of the dead, but of the living. You are completely mistaken!”
28 Jumo jwa ŵakwiganya Malajisyo ŵaiche pelepo ni ŵagapilikene makani gao. Paŵaiweni kuti Che Yesu ŵaajanjile uchenene Masadukayo ŵala, ŵansejelele Che Yesu ni kumbusya, “Ana Lilajisyo chi lyalili lyekulu kupunda gose?”
One of the religious teachers came and heard them arguing. He recognized that Jesus had given them a good answer. So he asked him, “Which is the most important commandment of all?”
29 Che Yesu ŵajanjile, “Lilajisyo lyalili lyekulu ni ali: ‘Mpilikane, ŵanyamwe ŵandu ŵa ku Isilaeli! Ambuje Akunnungu ŵetu, jika pe ali Ambuje.
Jesus replied, “The first commandment is, ‘Hear, Israel, the Lord our God is one.
Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your spirit, with all your mind, and with all your strength.’
31 Lilajisyo lyaaŵili lyalili lyekulu lili ali: ‘Munnonyele njenu mpela inkuti pakulinonyela mwasyene.’ Ngapagwa Lilajisyo liine lyalili lyekulu kupunda Malajisyo gaŵili ga.”
The second is ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ There's no more important commandment than these.”
32 Nipele, jwakwiganya Malajisyo jula ŵansalile Che Yesu, “Jwakwiganya, njanjile yambone! Isyene Akunnungu ali ŵamo pe, ni ngapagwa jwine nambo ŵelewo jika pe.
“That's right, Teacher,” the man replied. “It's true as you said that God is one, and there is no other.
33 Ni mundu akusachilwa annonyele Akunnungu ni ntima wose ni lunda lwao lose ni machili gao gose ni kunnonyela njakwe mpela yakuti pakulinonyela nsyene. Kutenda yeleyo ili yambone kupunda kwatyochesya Akunnungu mbopesi sya kocha ni sadaka sine syasikutyosyekwa kwa Akunnungu.”
We are to love him with all our heart, all our understanding, and all our strength, and we are to love our neighbor as ourselves. This is far more important than offerings and sacrifices.”
34 Che Yesu paŵaiweni kuti mundu jo ajanjile kwa lunda ŵansalile, “Mmwejo nganimme kwakutalichila kwalechelela Akunnungu antawale.” Kutandilila katema ko ngapagwa mundu juŵalinjile sooni kumbusya Che Yesu chachili chose.
Jesus saw that he gave a thoughtful answer, and said, “You're not far from the kingdom of God.” After this no one was brave enough to ask him any more questions.
35 Che Yesu paŵaliji nkwajiganya ŵandu pa Nyuumba ja Akunnungu, ŵausisye ŵandu, “Kwachichi ŵakwiganya Malajisyo akusala kuti Kilisito, ali jumo pe mu uŵelesi u che Daudi?
While Jesus was teaching in the Temple, he asked, “Why do the religious teachers state that Christ is the son of David?
36 Mbumu jwa Akunnungu ŵanlongwesye che Daudi, nombejo ŵatite, ‘Ambuje ŵansalile Ambuje ŵangu, Ntame kundyo kwangu, mpaka pachinaatamiche ŵammagongo ŵenu paasi pa sajo syenu.’
David himself declared, inspired by the Holy Spirit, that the Lord said to my Lord, ‘Sit at my right hand until I put your enemies under your feet.’
37 “Che Daudi nsyene akummilanga Kilisito, ‘Ambuje,’ iŵele uli sooni Kilisito aŵe jumo pe mu uŵelesi u che Daudi?” Mpingo wa ŵandu ŵampilikanile kwa lukondwa.
Since David himself calls him Lord, how can he be David's son?” The large crowd listened to what Jesus said with great delight.
38 Che Yesu paŵajiganyaga ŵatite, “Nlilolechesye ni ŵakwiganya Malajisyo ŵakusaka kwendajenda ali awete minjilo jajileu, ŵakunonyelwa akomasikwe kwa kuchimbichikwa peuto pakusumichisya malonda.
Jesus continued to teach them, saying, “Beware of religious leaders! They love to walk around in long robes, to be greeted respectfully in the marketplaces.
They love to have the most important seats in the synagogues, and the best places at banquets.
They cheat widows out of what they own, and cover up the kind of people they really are with long-winded prayers. They will receive severe condemnation in the judgment.”
41 Che Yesu ŵatemi chiŵandi ni lisanduku lya kugosela sadaka pa Nyuumba ja Akunnungu, ŵaliji nkulolechesya ŵandu paŵalinji nkutaga mbiya. Ŵaipanje ŵajinji ŵatasile mbiya syasijinji.
Jesus sat down opposite the treasury collection box, watching people tossing in coins. Many of the rich were extravagantly throwing in a lot of money.
42 Nipele ŵaiche jwankongwe jwakulaga jwawililwe ni ŵankwawo, jwelejo ŵatasile mbiya syasinandi siŵili.
Then a poor widow came along and put in just two small coins.
43 Pelepo Che Yesu ŵaaŵilasile ŵakulijiganya ŵao, ŵaasalile, “Isyene ngunsalila, jwankongwe jwakulaga jwawililwe ni ŵankwakwe ju, atasile yejinji mu lisanduku lya kugosela sadaka, kwapunda ŵandu ŵane wose.
He called his disciples together and told them, “I tell you the truth: this poor widow has put in more than all the rest together.
44 Pakuŵa ŵandu ŵane wose atasile sadaka syao kutyochela mu yakupunda ya mu ipanje yao. Nambo jwankongwe ju nkulaga kwakwe, atasile yose yakwete.”
All of them gave from their wealth what they had, but she gave from her poverty what she didn't have. She put in all she had to live on.”
