< Luka 23 >

1 Nipele, ŵandu wose uŵachingangene pepala ŵajimi ni kwajausya Che Yesu mmbujo mwa che Pilato.
And having risen up all the multitude of them (they led *N(k)O*) Him to Pilate.
2 Ŵatandite kwaŵechetela, achitiji, “Twansimene mundu ju ali nkwalyungasya ŵandu ŵa chilambo chetu ali nkwakanya ŵandu kutyosya nsongo kwa Mwenye jwa ku Loma ni kulitenda kuti jwelejo ali Kilisito Nkulupusyo, Mwenye.”
They began then to accuse Him saying; This [man] we found misleading the nation (of us *NO*) and forbidding tribute to Caesar to be given (and *no*) declaring Himself Christ a king to be.
3 Che Pilato ŵammusisye Che Yesu, “Ana mmweji ni mwenye jwa Ŵayahudi?” Che Yesu ŵajanjile, “Mmwejo mwasyene ni ummechete.”
And Pilate (asked *N(k)O*) Him saying; You yourself are the King of the Jews? And answering him He was saying; You yourself say.
4 Nipele, che Pilato ŵaasalile achakulu ŵambopesi ni mpingo wa ŵandu, “Nganguchiwona chachili chose chakuti nannamule mundu ju.”
And Pilate said to the chief priests and the crowds; No [thing] find I guilty in man this.
5 Nambo ŵanyawo ŵachalile nnope achitiji, “Akwalyungasya ŵandu kwa majiganyo gao mu chilambo chose cha ku Yudea. Ŵatandite ku Galilaya ni sambano aiche apano.”
But they were insisting saying that He stirs up the people teaching throughout all of Judea (and *no*) He has begun from Galilee until here.
6 Che Pilato paŵapilikene yeleyo, ŵausisye, “Ana mundu ju ali jwa ku Galilaya?”
Pilate now having heard (Galilee *KO*) asked whether the man a Galilean is,
7 Paŵaimanyilile kuti Che Yesu ŵaliji jwa chilambo chachili mu ulamusi u che Helode, ŵampeleche ku che Helode, juŵaliji kukoko ku Yelusalemu gele moŵa go.
and having learned that from the jurisdiction of Herod He is, he sent up Him to (*o*) Herod being also he himself in Jerusalem in those days.
8 Che Helode paŵammweni Che Yesu ŵasangalele nnope. Chitandile kalakala ŵalajile kwawona pakuŵa ŵapilikene ngani syao, nombewo ŵalolelaga kwawona Che Yesu ali nkupanganya imanyisyo.
And Herod having seen Jesus [was] glad exceedingly; he was for of (long *N(k)O*) time wishing to see Him because of hearing (many things *K*) concerning Him and he was hoping some sign to see by Him done.
9 Nipele che Helode ŵammusisye Che Yesu mausyo gamajinji nambo Che Yesu nganajanga lili lyose.
He was questioning then Him in words many; He himself however no [thing] answered him.
10 Achakulu ŵambopesi ni ŵakwiganya Malajisyo uŵaliji pelepo ŵaŵechetele Che Yesu kwa machili.
Had been standing by now the chief priests and the scribes vehemently accusing Him.
11 Nipele, che Helode ni ŵangondo ŵakwe, ŵanyelwisye ni kwatukana Che Yesu ni kwawasya iwalo yakusalala ni ŵammuchisye ku che Pilato.
Having set at naught then Him (also *no*) Herod with the troops of him and having mocked [and] having put on (Him *ko*) apparel splendid, sent back Him to Pilate.
12 Lye lyuŵa lyo che Helode ni che Pilato ŵajilene ni kuŵa uganja pakuŵa chitandilile kalakala ŵatindene lyasi.
Became then friends both Herod and Pilate on that day with one another; they were formerly for at enmity they were between (them. *N(k)(o)*)
13 Nipele, che Pilato ŵasimanisye achakulu ŵambopesi ni ilongola ni ŵandu,
Pilate then having called together the chief priests and the rulers and the people
14 ni ŵaasalile, “Mumbelechele mundu ju nchitiji ŵaliji nkwalyungasya ŵandu. Sambano mpilikane! Uneji sosilesosile ngani syao mmbujo mwenu nambo nganinansimana ni ligambo lili lyose lyankati indu imwammechetele.
said to them; You brought to me man this as misleading the people; and behold I myself before you having examined [Him] no [thing] found in man this guilty of that accusation you are bringing against Him;
15 Ngaŵa uneji pe, atamuno che Helode ammuchisye kukwetu pakuŵa nganaliwona ligambo lili lyose. Usyene ukulosya kuti mundu ju nganatenda chachili chose changalumbana chakwaŵajila chiwa.
But not even [did] Herod; (he sent back *N(K)O*) for Him to (us *N(K)O*) And behold no [thing] worthy of death is done by Him.
16 Nipele, chilamule kuti aputikwe mbokola nombe chinalechelele.”
Having chastised therefore Him I will release [Him].
17 Pakuŵa ŵasachilwe kwaugulila jwataŵikwe jumo katema ka Pasaka.
(necessity *KO*) (now had to release to them according to feast one. *K*)
18 Nambo wose ŵatandite kunyanyisya kwanakamo achitiji, “Mummulaje mundu ju, ntugopolele che Balaba!”
(They cried out *N(k)O*) however all together saying; do remove this [man], do release now to us Barabbas;
19 Che Balaba ŵataŵikwe mu nyuumba jakutaŵilwa ligongo lya kukamulangana ni ŵandu ŵaŵatindigenye mu musi ni mu utinda wo ŵaulajikwe mundu jumo.
who was on account of insurrection a certain having been made in the city and murder (being cast into *N(k)O*) (the *no*) (prison. *N(k)O*)
20 Che Pilato ŵasachile kwalechelela Che Yesu, ŵaŵechete nawo kaaŵili kwakunyanyisya.
Again (therefore *N(k)O*) Pilate called to them wishing to release Jesus.
21 Nambo ŵanyawo ŵanyanyisye sooni, “Mwaŵambe pa nsalaba, Mwaŵambe pa nsalaba!”
But they were crying out saying; (do crucify do crucify *N(k)O*) Him.
22 Che Pilato ŵaasalile kaatatu, “Ana changalumbana chi chatesile mundu ju? Nganguliwona ligambo lililyose nkati mundu ju lyati ikwaŵajila chiwa. Nipele chilamule aputikwe mbokola ni kwalechelela.”
And a third [time] he said to them; What for evil did commit this [man]? No [thing] worthy of death found I in Him. Having chastised therefore Him I will release [Him].
23 Nambo ŵanyawo ŵapundile kunyanyisya kwa machili nnope kuti Che Yesu akusachilwa kuŵambikwa pa nsalaba. Kumbesi kwakwe, maloŵe gao gapikaniche.
But they were urgent with voices loud asking for Him to be crucified, And were prevailing the voices of them (and of the chief priests. *KO*)
24 Che Pilato ŵalamwile kuti chasachilenje chipanganikwe.
(*k*) (and *N(k)O*) Pilate sentenced to be done the demand of them.
25 Ŵangopwele jwelejo juŵataŵikwe kwa ligongo lya kutindiganya ni kuulaga ni kwatyochesya Che Yesu kwa ŵangondo kuti ŵatende mpela iŵasakaga.
He released then (to them *k*) the [one] on account of insurrection and murder cast into (*k*) prison whom they were asking for; and Jesus he delivered to the will of them.
26 Ŵangondo paŵalinji nkwajausya Che Yesu kukwaŵamba pa nsalaba ŵasimene ni mundu liina lyao che Simoni jwa ku Kulene, juŵatyochelaga mu nsinda kwinjila mu musi. Ŵankamwile ni kwatwika nsalaba ni kwakuya Che Yesu panyuma.
And as they led away Him, having laid hold on (Simon a certain from Cyrene *N(k)O*) (who *k*) (is coming *N(k)O*) from [the] country they put upon him the cross to carry behind Jesus.
27 Mpingo wekulungwa wa ŵandu wankuiye, mwa ŵanyawo ŵapali achakongwe uŵaliji nkulila nnope ni kulila kwa malumbo.
Were following now Him a great multitude of the people and of women who (also *k*) were mourning and they were lamenting for Him.
28 Che Yesu ŵaagalauchile ŵanyawo ni kwasalila, “Mwanya achakongwe ŵa ku Yelusalemu! Ngasimulilila une nambo nlililile mwachinsyene ni ŵanache ŵenu.
Having turned then to them Jesus said; Daughters of Jerusalem, not do weep for Me myself, but for yourselves do weep and for the children of you.
29 Pakuŵa moŵa chigaiche pachachiti, ‘Ŵana upile ŵangakuŵeleka ni ŵanganaŵeleka ni konjesya!’
For behold are coming days in which they will say; Blessed [are] the barren and (the *no*) wombs that never did bear and breasts that never (they feed. *N(k)O*)
30 Pelepo ni pachatande kuisalila ikwesya kuti ‘Ntugwilile!’ Ni matumbi, ‘Ntuunichile!’
Then They will begin to say to the mountains; do fall upon us; and to the hills; do cover us.
31 Pakuŵa, iŵaga ŵandu akutenda yeleyi kwa une jundi mpela chitela chachiŵisi. Ana chatende chichi kukwenu ŵandi mpela chitela chejumu?”
For if in the green tree these things they do, in the dry what may happen?
32 Nombe ŵapali ŵandu ŵane ŵaŵili, uŵatendaga yangalumbana, ŵajigalikwe kukuulajikwa pamo ni Che Yesu.
Were being led away now also other criminals two with Him to be executed.
33 Paŵaiche kwiuto, liina lyakwe, “Chikalakasa cha Ntwe,” Nipele kweleko ŵaŵambile pa nsalaba Che Yesu pamo ni aŵala ŵaŵili uŵaitendekanyaga yangalumbana, jumo kundyo kwao ni jwine kunchiji.
And when (they came *N(k)O*) to the place which is being called [The] Skull, there they crucified Him and the criminals, the one on [the] right, another and on [the] left.

And Jesus was saying; Father, do forgive them; not for they know what they do. Dividing then the garments of Him they cast (lots. *NK(o)*)
35 Ŵandu ŵajimi achilolaga. Achakulu ŵa chiyahudi ŵanjalwisye Che Yesu achitiji, “Ŵakulupwisye ŵane, sambano alikulupusye nsyene iŵaga jwelejo ni Kilisito Nkulupusyo jwasagulikwe ni Akunnungu!”
And had stood the people beholding. Were deriding [Him] then also the rulers (with them *k*) saying; Others He saved, he should save Himself if this is the Christ (*ko*) of God (the *no*) Chosen [One].
36 Ŵangondo nombewo ŵanjalwisye Che Yesu ni kwapelechela divai ja kuipa,

and saying; If You yourself are the King of the Jews, do save Yourself!
38 Ni pachanya nsalaba ŵaŵisile chindu chachilembekwe yele, “Aŵaŵa ALI MWENYE JWA ŴAYAHUDI.”
There was now also an inscription (written *K(o)*) over Him (writings in Greek and in Latin and in Hebrew; is *K*) the King of the Jews This [is].
39 Jumo jwa aŵala uŵatendaga yangalumbana uŵaŵambikwe pepala ŵantukene Che Yesu achitiji, “Ana mmwejo ngati ni Kilisito Nkulupusyo? Nlikulupusye mwasyene noweji iyoyo peyo.”
One now of those having been hanged criminals he was denigrating Him saying: (Surely *N(K)O*) you yourself are the Christ? do save Yourself and us!
40 Nambo jwine jula ŵankalipile achitiji, “Ana mmweji ngankwajogopa Akunnungu namose kanandi? Namuno mmwejo nnamulikwe chisau ni ŵele.
Answering now the other (rebuking *N(k)O*) him (was speaking; *N(k)O*) Not even do fear you yourself God that under the same judgment you are?
