< Luka 19 >

1 Che Yesu ŵajinjile ku Yeliko ni ŵaliji nkupita.
Then Jesus entered Jericho and was passing through.
2 Jwapali mundu jumo liina lyakwe che Sakayo, juŵaliji jwankulu jwa ŵakukumbikanya nsongo, nombe jwaliji jwachipanje.
And behold, there was a man named Zacchaeus. He was a chief tax collector and was rich.
3 Ŵasachile kwawona Che Yesu kuti ŵaliji ŵaani nambo ŵalepele ligongo lya winji wa ŵandu ni pakuŵa ŵaliji jwanjipi.
He was trying to see who Jesus was, but he could not do so because of the crowd, for he was a short man.
4 Nipele, ŵautuchile mmbujo ni ŵakwesile chitela chachikulungwa cha nkuju kuti akombole kwawona pakuŵa ŵaliji nkupita lyele litala lyo.
So he ran on ahead and climbed a sycamore tree so that he could see him, because Jesus was about to pass by that way.
5 Che Yesu paŵaiche peuto po ŵalolite mwinani ni ŵansalile, “Che Sakayo, ntuluche chitema pakuŵa lelo jino ikumajila kulonjela mu nyuumba jenu.”
When Jesus came to that place, he looked up and saw him. Then he said to him, “Zacchaeus, hurry and come down, for I must stay at yoʋr house today.”
So he hurried down and received Jesus with joy.
7 Ŵandu wose paŵaiweni yele, ŵatandite kunyinyita achitiji, “Ajinjile kulonjela kwa mundu jwa sambi.”
When all the people saw it, they grumbled, saying, “He has gone to be the guest of a sinful man.”
But Zacchaeus stood there and said to the Lord, “Behold, half of my goods, Lord, I give to the poor, and if I have extorted anything from anyone, I will pay back four times the amount.”
9 Che Yesu ŵansalile kuti, “Lelo jino ukulupusyo uiche mu nyuumba ji pakuŵa nombejo ali jwauŵelesi u che Iblahimu.
Jesus said to him, “Today salvation has come to this house, because this man has shown that he too is a son of Abraham.
10 Pakuŵa Mwana jwa Mundu aiche kukwasosa ni kukwakulupusya ŵasochele.”
For the Son of Man came to seek and save the lost.”
Now as the people were listening to this, Jesus went on to tell a parable, because he was near Jerusalem, and because they thought that the kingdom of God was going to appear at once.
So he said, “A man of noble birth went to a distant country to receive a kingdom for himself and then return.
13 Akanaŵe kwaula, ŵaaŵilasile achikapolo ŵao likumi ni ŵapele kila mundu mbiya liunjili limo ni mbiya jimo malinga ni mbote ja miesi jitatu ni kwasalila, ‘Nsumisye malonda mpaka pachiuje.’
Calling ten of his servants, he gave them ten minas and said to them, ‘Engage in business until I return.’
14 Nambo achinsyene musi, ŵanchimile ni ŵalajisye ŵantenga ajaule akajile ‘Ngatukunsaka mundu ju atulongosye uwe.’
But his subjects hated him and sent a delegation after him, saying, ‘We do not want this man to reign over us.’
15 “Nambo, mundu jo ŵausile sooni kumusi ali amasile kupochela umwenye ni ŵalamwile kuti akaaŵilanjile achikapolo uŵapele mbiya ŵala kuti achimanyilile chachipundile chajinjisye kila mundu.
When he returned after receiving the kingdom, he summoned the servants to whom he had given the money, to find out who had gained what by engaging in business.
16 Kapolo jwaandanda jwaiche paujo pao ni ŵatite, ‘Ambuje, mbiya jenu jimwambele jijonjesyeche mbiya likumi.’
The first came before him and said, ‘Master, yoʋr mina has made ten minas more.’
17 Nombewo ŵansalile, ‘Ntesile yambone, mmwejo ndi kapolo jwambone. Pakuŵa mwaliji jwakukulupilichika pa indu yenandi, nkoleje ulamusi pachanya pa misi likumi!’
The king said to him, ‘Well done, good servant! Because yoʋ have been faithful in a very small matter, take authority over ten cities.’
18 Kapolo jwaaŵili jwaiche nikuti, ‘Ambuje, mbiya jenu jimwambele jijonjesyeche mbiya sine nsano.’
The second came and said, ‘Master, yoʋr mina has made five minas.’
19 Nombewo ŵansalile jwelejo kuti, ‘Nomwe ŵakwe nkoleje ulamusi pachanya misi nsano.’
The king said to him, ‘Yoʋ are to be over five cities.’
20 “Nipele, kapolo jwine jwaiche achitiji, ‘Ambuje, aji ni mbiya jenu jimwambele jila, nagosile uchenene mu chiguo cha mwana chammakono.
Another came and said, ‘Master, behold, here is yoʋr mina, which I kept put away in a piece of cloth.
21 Ligongo nanjogopaga, pakuŵa mmwe ndi mundu jwakunonopa ntima. Mundu junkuigala yangaŵa yenu ni kugoola yanganimpande.’
For I was afraid of yoʋ, because yoʋ are a stern man. Yoʋ take out what yoʋ did not put in, and yoʋ reap what yoʋ did not sow.’
22 Nombewo ŵansalile, ‘Ngunnamula kwaligongo lya intite pakuŵecheta mmwe kapolo jwangalumbana! Ngati mwaamanyilile kuti une ndili mundu jwakunonopa ntima, jungwigala yangaŵa yangu ni jungugowola yanganimbande.
The king said to him, ‘I will condemn yoʋ by the words coming out of yoʋr own mouth, yoʋ evil servant. Yoʋ knew, did yoʋ, that I was a stern man, taking out what I did not put in, and reaping what I did not sow?
23 Ligongo chi nganinjausya mbiya jangu kwa ŵakutyosya yakoonjecheka, kuti une pachiuje nyaule ngajigale ni yakupunda yakwe?’
Why then did yoʋ not deposit my money in the bank, and when I came I would have collected it with interest?’
24 “Pelepo ŵaasalile uŵajimi pepala ŵala, ‘Munsumule mbiya jo, nkaape jwakwete mbiya likumi jula.’
Then he said to those standing nearby, ‘Take the mina from him and give it to the one who has ten minas.’
25 Ŵanyawo ŵansalile, ‘Ambuje, nambo jwelejo akwete chile mbiya likumi!’
But they said to him, ‘Master, he has ten minas!’
The king said, ‘I tell you that everyone who has will be given more, but the one who does not have, even what he has will be taken away from him.
27 Nambo, yankati aŵaŵa ŵammagongo ŵangu uŵakanile kuti ninaalongosye, mwaichisye apano ni kwasikita paujo pangu.’”
But as for those enemies of mine who did not want me to reign over them, bring them here and slay them in front of me.’”
After saying these things, Jesus continued on his way up to Jerusalem, walking ahead of his disciples.
As he drew near to Bethsphage and Bethany, at the mount called Olivet, he sent two of his disciples ahead,
30 Ŵasalile kuti, “Njaule pa nsinda wauli mmbujo mwenu. Pachinkajinjile mu nsinda mo, chinkansimane mwanambunda jwataŵikwe jwanganakwelekwe ni mundu. Nkangopole ni kunnyikanawo apano.
saying, “Go into the village ahead of you. As you enter it, you will find a colt tied, on which no one has ever sat. Untie it and bring it here.
31 Sooni iŵaga chakammusye mundu kuti, ligongo chi nkungopola? Nkajile, ‘Ambuje akunsaka.’”
If anyone asks you, ‘Why are you untying it?’ tell him this: ‘The Lord has need of it.’”
32 Nipele, uŵalajisye ŵala ŵajawile ni ŵaisimene mpela iŵatite pakusalilwa ni Che Yesu.
So those who were sent went off and found it just as he had told them.
33 Paŵaliji nkungopola mwanambunda jula, achinsyene ni ŵausisye, “Ana ligongo chi nkungopola mwanambunda ju?”
As they were untying the colt, its owners said to them, “Why are you untying the colt?”
34 Ŵajanjile, “Ambuje akunsaka.”
They said, “The Lord has need of it.”
35 Ŵanjigele mwanambunda jula ni kwapelechela Che Yesu. Ŵatandiche iwalo yao pachanya pa mwanambunda jo ni ŵankwesisye Che Yesu pachanya pakwe.
Then they brought the colt to Jesus, threw their garments over it, and set Jesus on it.
36 Paŵajendelechelelaga ni ulendo ŵandu ŵatandiche iwalo yao mwitala.
As he went along, people were spreading their garments on the road.
37 Paŵaŵandichile ku Yelusalemu, palitala lyalikutuluchila kuchikwesya chachigumbele itela ya Miseituni, mpingo wose wa ŵandu ni ŵakulijiganya ŵao ŵatandite kuchina ni kwatogolela Akunnungu achinyanyisyaga ligongo lya yakusimonjeka yose iŵaiweni
And as he drew near to the descent of the Mount of Olives, the whole multitude of the disciples began to praise God joyfully with a loud voice for all the miracles they had seen,
38 ŵatite “Akole upile Mwenye jwakwika mu liina lya Ambuje. Chitendewele kwinani ni ukulu kwa Akumanani.”
saying, “Blessed is the king who comes in the name of the Lord! Peace in heaven, and glory in the highest!”
39 Mafalisayo ŵampepe ŵaŵaliji mu mpingo wa ŵandu mula ŵansalile Che Yesu kuti, “Jŵakwiganya, mwakalipile ŵakulijiganya ŵenu!”
But some of the Pharisees from among the crowd said to Jesus, “Teacher, rebuke yoʋr disciples.”
40 Che Yesu ŵajanjile kuti, “Ngunsalila ŵanyamwe, naga chamyalale ŵanyaŵa, maganga chigatande kunyokonya.”
In response he said to them, “I tell you, if they keep silent, the stones will cry out.”
41 Paŵaŵandichile ni kuulola musi wa ku Yelusalemu, Che Yesu ŵalisile ligongo lya musi wo
As he drew near to Jerusalem and saw the city, he wept over it,
42 achitiji, “Ikaliji mbaya nkaimanyilile lelo jino, indu yaikwikanawo chitendewele! Nambo sambano isisiche pa meeso genu.
saying, “If only yoʋ had known, especially on this day of yoʋrs what would bring yoʋ peace! But now it is hidden from yoʋr eyes.
43 Pakuŵa moŵa chigannyichile mmwe ni ŵammagongo ŵenu chansyunguchisye likumba ni chachinsyungula ni kummijikanya kosekose.
For the days will come upon yoʋ when yoʋr enemies build a barricade around yoʋ and encircle yoʋ, hemming yoʋ in on every side.
44 Chankasanye mmwe ni ŵaali nkati likumba lya musi wose ngapagwa liganga lichilisigale palijakwe, ligongo nganinkamanyilila katema paŵannyichile Akunnungu kukunkulupusya.”
They will raze yoʋ to the ground, and yoʋr children within yoʋ. They will not leave in yoʋ one stone upon another, because yoʋ did not recognize the time of yoʋr visitation.”
45 Nipele, Che Yesu ŵajinjile pa Nyuumba ja Akunnungu ni ŵatandite kwaŵinjila paasa ŵaŵasumisyaga malonda,
Then Jesus entered the temple courts and began driving out those who were selling and buying there.
46 achitiji, “Ilembekwe yati, ‘Nyuumba jangu chijiŵe nyuumba ja kupopela’, nambo ŵanyamwe njitesile peuto pakulisisila ŵawiyi.”
He said to them, “It is written, ‘My house is a house of prayer,’ but you have made it a den of robbers.”
Every day Jesus was teaching in the temple courts, but the chief priests and the scribes were seeking to destroy him, and so were the prominent leaders among the people.
48 nambo nganamanyilila ichajile pakupanganya, pakuŵa ŵandu wose ŵaliji nkwapilikanichisya uchenene.
But they could not figure out what to do, for all the people were hanging on his every word as they listened to him.
