< Luka 12 >
1 Katema kakoko ŵasongangene ŵandu ŵajinji mpaka kuliŵatana, Che Yesu ŵatandite kwasalila kaje ŵakulijiganya ŵao kuti, “Nlisepusye ni chilungo cha Mafalisayo, chachili cha ulamba.
In the meantime so many thousands of people had gathered that they were stepping on each other. Jesus began speaking first to his disciples. “Beware the yeast of the Pharisees—hypocrisy.
2 Ngachipagwa chachiunichikwe chingachiunukukwa ni chachisisikwe chingachimanyika.
For there's nothing hidden that won't be revealed, nothing secret that won't be made known.
3 Lyele ligongo lyo chachili chose chimwaŵechete pa chipi, ŵandu chapikane pa lilanguka ni chimwasongonaga pa chisyepela, muchumba cheugalikwe, chichijenele muchilambo chose.
Whatever you have said in the dark will be heard in the light, and whatever you whispered in private will be announced from the rooftops.
4 “Ngunsalila ŵanyamwe achambusanga ŵangu kuti ngasimwajogopa ŵelewo ŵakuchiulaga chiilu nambo ngapagwa chakupunda chakuchikombola kuchipanganya.
I tell you, my friends, don't be afraid of those who kill the body, for once they've done that there's no more they can do.
5 Nambo chinannosye ŵakusachilwa kwajogopa, mwajogope Akunnungu pakuŵa amalaga kuulaga akwete ulamusi wakumponya ku jehanamu. Eloo, mwajogope ŵelewo. (Geenna )
Let me make it clear whom you should be afraid of. You should be afraid of the one who after he has killed has the power to dispose of them in Gehenna. That's the one you should be afraid of. (Geenna )
6 “Ana ngati ikumanyika kuti ijojolo nsano ikusumichikwa kwa ndalama jajinandi nnope? Nambo ngapagwa chijuni chakuliŵalichikwa ni Akunnungu namuno chimo.
Aren't five sparrows sold for two pennies? But God doesn't forget a single one of them.
7 Atamuno umbo sya mitwe jenu Akunnungu akusimanyilila sili silingwa. Ngasinjogopa, ŵanyamwe ndi ŵakutopela kwannope kupunda ijojolo yejinji!
Even the hairs on your head have been counted. Don't be afraid—you're worth more than many sparrows!
8 “Ngunsalila isyene, jwalijose jwakunyitichisya une pa ŵandu kuti jwele ali jwangune, iyoyo peyo Mwana jwa Mundu chachinjitichisya jwelejo mmbujo mwa achikatumetume ŵa kwinani ŵa Akunnungu.
I tell you the truth, those who declare they belong to me, the Son of man will also declare they belong to him before God's angels,
9 Nambo, jwalijose jwakungana une pa ŵandu, nombejo chakanikwe mmbujo mwa achikatumetume ŵa kwinani ŵa Akunnungu.
but those who deny me will be denied before God's angels.
10 “Mundu jwalijose jwakwaŵechetela yangalumbana Mwana jwa Mundu chalecheleswe, nambo juchannyelusye Mbumu jwa Akunnungu, ngalecheleswa ng'oo.
Everyone who speaks against the Son of man will be forgiven, but anyone who blasphemes against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven.
11 “Pachachinjigala kwa machili mmajumba ga kupopelela pane mmbujo mwa mamwenye ni ŵakulamula kuti nlamulikwe, nkapwelela kuti chinjanje chichi pane ichimmechete.
When you're brought to trial before synagogues, rulers, and authorities, don't worry about how to defend yourself, or what you should say.
12 Pakuŵa Mbumu jwa Akunnungu chanjiganye chakuŵecheta katema kakoko.”
The Holy Spirit will teach you at that time what's important to say.”
13 Mundu jumo mumpingo wa ŵandu mula, ŵansalile Che Yesu kuti, “Jwakwiganya, mwasalile akulu ŵangu tusapulane ipanje yatulechele atati ŵetu.”
Someone in the crowd asked Jesus, “Teacher, please tell my brother to share the inheritance with me.”
14 Che Yesu ŵajanjile, “Ambusanga, ana ŵaani ŵamisile une kuŵa jwakulamula pasikati jenu pane jwakungaŵanyichisya ipanje yenu?”
“My friend,” Jesus replied, “Who appointed me as your judge to decide how your inheritance should be divided?” He told the people,
15 Nipele ŵaasalile wose kuti, “Nlisepusye ni tama ja indu yejinji pakuŵa umi wa mundu nganiupagwa mu winji wa indu yakwete.”
“Watch out, and beware of all greedy thoughts and actions, for a person's life isn't summed up by all the things they own.”
16 Nipele ŵatanjile chitagu chanti, “Kwaliji ni jwachipanje jumo juŵaliji ni ngunda uwasogwele nnope.
Then he told them a story as an illustration. “Once there was a rich man who owned land that was very productive.
17 Jwachipanje jo ŵaganisisye muntima mwakwe achitiji, ‘Chindende uli pakuŵa une nganingola pakugosela magowolo gangu?’
After thinking things through, the man said to himself, ‘What shall I do? I've nowhere to store my crops.
18 Ŵatite ‘Chindende yelei, chingagumule ngokwe syangu ni kutaŵa jajikulungwa nnope. Mwelemo chingaŵiche magowolo gangu gose ga ngano ni ipanje yangu.’
I know what I'll do,’ he decided. ‘I'll pull down my barns and build bigger ones, and then I'll be able to store all my crops and everything I own.
19 Pelepo chinalisalile nansyene, ‘Sambano nkwete ipanje yejinji imwaligosele kwa yaka yejinji, mpumule, ndye ni kung'wa ni kusengwa!’
Then I'll tell myself: You have enough to live on for many years, so take life easy: eat, drink, and enjoy yourself!’
20 Nambo Akunnungu ŵaasalile, ‘Mmwejo Jwakuloŵela, achi chilo chino umi wenu chiujigalikwe ni yose indigosele ana chiiŵe ya ŵaani?’”
But God said to him, ‘You foolish man! Your life will be demanded back this very night, and then who will get everything you've stored up?’
21 Che Yesu ŵamalichisye kuŵecheta, “Yele ni yaili kwa mundu jwakuligosela ipanje yejinji, nambo paujo pa Akunnungu ngakuŵalanjikwa kuti akwete chindu.”
This is what happens to people who hoard up wealth for themselves but are not rich as far as God is concerned.”
22 Nipele Che Yesu ŵaasalile ŵakulijiganya ŵao, “Kwaligongo lyo ngunsalila, ngasinlilagasya kwa ligongo lya umi wenu kuti chindye chichi atamuno kwa ligongo lya iilu yenu kuti chimmwale chichi.
Jesus told his disciples, “That's why I tell you don't worry about life, about what to eat, or about what clothes you should wear.
23 Pakuŵa umi upundile kwa yakulya ni chiilu chipundile kwa iwalo.
Life is about more than food, and the body is about more than wearing clothes.
24 Ngalole makungulu, ngagakupanda namose kugungula, nganigakola ngokwe namose magulu nambo Akunnungu akugalisya. Ni ŵanyamwe ndi ŵakutopela kugapunda makungulu!
Look at the ravens. They don't sow or reap, they don't have any storerooms or barns, but God feeds them. And you're far more valuable than birds!
25 Nipele, ŵaani mwa ŵanyamwe kwakulichenjeusya nnope akukombola kulijonjechesya namose lyuŵa limo mmoŵa ga umi wakwe?
Can you add an hour to your life by worrying about it?
26 Nipele, iŵaga ngankukombola kuchitenda chachinandi mpela chelecho, ligongo chi nkuchenjeuchila ine yo?
If you can't do anything about such small things, why worry about the rest?
27 Nnole uluŵa umele wakwe. Ngaukupanganya masengo, atamuno ngaukuliluchila iwalo. Nambo ngunsalila kuti namose mwenye che Selemani ni ukulu wao wose nganawale yambone mpela limo lya uluŵa wo.
Think of the lilies and how they grow. They don't work, and they don't spin thread for clothes, but I tell you, not even Solomon in all his glory was as beautifully dressed as one of them.
28 Nipele iŵaga Akunnungu akulitakusya yeleyo lisamba lya mwitinji lyalikumela lelo ni malaŵi likupatuka ni kwasikwa pa mooto, ana ngati chantakusye kwakupunda ŵanyamwe ŵandi ni chikulupi chamwana?
So if God clothes the fields with such beautiful flowers, which are here today but gone tomorrow when they are burned in a fire to heat an oven, how much more will God clothe you, you who have so little trust!
29 “Nipele, ngasinlajila ichinlye atamuno iching'we namose ngasimma ni lipamba.
Don't be concerned about what you're going to eat or drink—don't worry about it.
30 Pakuŵa yose yo ikuchenjeuchilwa ni ŵandu ŵangakulupilila ŵa ilambo ine ya pachilambo pano. Nambo mwanya Atati ŵenu akumanyilila kuti nkuilajila yele indu.
These are all things that people in the world worry about, but your Father knows you need them.
31 Nipele nsoseje kaje Umwenye wa Akunnungu ni indu ine chiijonjechekwe kukwenu.
Search for God's kingdom, and you'll be given these things as well.
32 “Ngasinjogopa, ŵanyamwe mpingo wenondi! Pakuŵa Atati ŵenu yanonyele kumpa Umwenye wao.
Don't be afraid, little flock, for your Father is happy to give you the kingdom.
33 Nsumisye inkwete nkaape ŵandu ŵakulaga mbiya syo. Nlipanganyichisye ilolo yangawisala ni kuligosela mbiko jangapunguka ni jangamala kwinani. Kwangaŵandichila ŵa wiyi atamuno konasika ni idudu.
Sell what you have, and give the money to the poor. Get yourselves purses that don't wear out: treasure in heaven that will never run out, where no thief can steal it and no moth can destroy it.
34 Pakuŵa pajili mbiko jenu, pele ntima wenu ni pachiuŵe.
For what you value the most shows who you really are.
35 “Nliŵiche chile kwakutumichila ni kuleka imulichilo yenu ininkukolela.
Be dressed and ready, and keep your lamps lit,
36 Mbe mpela achikapolo ŵakwalindilila ambuje ŵao kutyochela kuulombela kuti pakupoposya ŵaugulile nnango kwachitema.
like servants waiting for their master when he returns from his wedding feast, prepared to open the door quickly for him when he comes and knocks.
37 Ŵana upile ŵele achikapolo ŵachachasimana ali meeso pachauje Ambuje ŵao! Isyene ngunsalila kuti ambuje wo chaaŵe chile kwatumichila, chiŵatamiche pakulila ni kwatumichila.
How good it will be for those servants that the master finds watching when he returns. I tell you the truth, he will get dressed, have them sit down for a meal, and will come and serve them himself!
38 Iŵaga chauje pasikati chilo pane atamuno kuninkucha ni kwasimana ali meeso, ŵana upile achikapolo wo.
Even if he comes at midnight, or just before dawn—how good for them if he finds them watching and ready!
39 Nambo mmanyilileje kuti iŵaga nsyene nyuumba akakamanyilile katema chi chaiche jwa wiyi, akaliji meeso, ngakajileche nyuumba jakwe jininkugumulikwa.
But remember this: if the master knew when a thief was coming, he would keep watch, and not allow his house to be broken into.
40 Ŵanyamwe nombe nliŵiche chile, pakuŵa Mwana jwa Mundu akwika katema kangankulolela.”
You must also be ready, for the Son of man is coming when you don't expect him.”
41 Che Petulo ŵausisye Che Yesu kuti, “Ambuje, ana chitagu chi chikutugamba uweji pe pane ŵandu wose?”
“Is this story you're telling just for us, or for everyone?” Peter asked.
42 Ambuje ŵajanjile, “Ana kapolo jwakwimilila chi jwali jwakukulupilichika ni jwalunda, jwaŵichikwe ni ambujegwe kwajimilila achikapolo ŵao kuti ŵagaŵanyichisye yakulya pa katema kakusachilwa?
The Lord replied, “Who then is the trustworthy and wise manager, the one person in the household that the master puts in charge to share out their food at the right time?
43 Jwana upile kapolo juchasimanikwe ni ambujegwe ali nkupanganya yele katema pachauje.
It will be good for that servant when his master returns and finds him doing what he should.
44 Isyene ngunsalila kuti ambujegwe chambiche kapolojo kwimilila ipanje yakwe yose.
I tell you the truth, the master will put that servant in charge of everything.
But what if the servant were to say to himself, ‘My master is taking a long time in coming,’ and then starts beating the other servants, both men and women, feasting and getting drunk?
46 ambujegwe kapolo jula chauje pa lyuŵa lyangalilolela ni katema kangakukamanyilila chiŵakatanye ipande ipande ni kwaŵika liunjili limo ni ŵangakukulupilila.
That servant's master will return unexpectedly one day at a time he didn't anticipate, and will punish him severely, treating him as totally untrustworthy.
47 “Ni kapolo jwakumanyilila chakuchisaka ambujegwe, nambo ngakuliŵika chile kwa kupanganya yakusachilwa kupanganya ni ambujegwe, chaputikwe kwa nnope.
That servant who knew what his master wanted and yet didn't get ready or follow his instructions, will be beaten severely;
48 Nambo jwangakuimanyilila indu yakuisaka ambujegwe nombe akupanganya indu yaikuŵajilwa kulagaswa chaputikwe kwakanandi. Pakuŵa jwalijose juchapegwe yejinji chasachilwe kutyosya yejinji ni jwalijose jwapegwile kamulila yejinji chasachilwe kuusya yejinji nnope.
but the servant who didn't know and did things deserving punishment will be beaten only lightly. From those who are given much, much will be required, and from those who are entrusted with more, more will be demanded.
49 “Nyiche kukukolesya mooto pachilambo, none ngasachile nnope kuulola uli ukolele!
I have come to set the earth on fire, and I really wish it was already burning!
50 Nambo ngwete ubatiso wa masausyo gangusachilwa nagakole, nguŵijikanywa nnope mpaka masausyo ga ubatiso wo pachigamale.
But I have a baptism to go through, and I'm in agony, wishing it was over!
51 Ana nkuganisya kuti nyiche nacho chitendewele pachilambo pano? Ngunsalila, ngwamba, nambo nyiche kukuntindanya.
Do you think that I came to bring peace on earth? No, I tell you, I bring division.
52 Kutandila sambano, ŵandu nsano ŵa uŵelesi umo chatindigane, ŵandu ŵatatu chaputane ni ŵandu ŵaŵili ni ŵandu ŵaŵili chaputane ni ŵandu ŵatatu.
From now on, if there are five in a family, they will be divided against each other: three against two, and two against three.
53 Atati chatindane ni mwanagwao nombe mwanache chatindane ni atatigwe, achikulu chatindane ni mwanagwe mwali nombe mwali chatindane ni achikulugwe, jwankongwe chatindane ni akwegwao nombe ŵelewo chatindane ni nkwegwao.”
They will be divided against each other—father against son, son against father, mother against daughter, daughter against mother, mother-in-law against daughter-in-law, and daughter-in-law against mother-in-law.”
54 Che Yesu ŵajisalile sooni mipingo ja ŵandu kuti, “Pankugawona maunde ganinkutyochela kulikutiŵilila lyuŵa, papopo ni nkuti lelo chijinye ula ni jikunya.
Then Jesus spoke to the crowds. “When you see a cloud rising in the west, you immediately say, ‘a rain-shower's coming,’ and it happens.
55 Pajikupuga mbungo kutyochela kulujenda nkuti, ‘Lyuŵa chiliŵale lelo’ ni iyoyo peyo ikutyochela.
When a south wind blows, you say ‘it's going to be hot,’ and it is.
56 Ŵanyamwe ŵa ulamba, nkukombola kulondola iichiŵe lelo kwakulola chilambo ni kwinani kwachichi nipele nkulepela kugamanyilila malumbo gakatemaka?
You hypocrites, how is it that you know how to rightly interpret the weather but you don't know how to interpret the present time?
57 “Sooni kwachichi ngankulilamulila mwachimisyene chachili chambone chakuchipanganya?
Why don't you think for yourselves and judge what's the right thing to do?
58 Pakuŵa ikaliji yambone ntende yaili yose kwilana nawo jwammagongo nli mwitala. Iŵaga ngaŵa yeleyo chanjausye kwa jwakulamula nombejo chanjausye kwa jwangondo nombejo champonye mu nyuumba jakutaŵilwa.
As you go with your accuser to the magistrate, on the way you should be working on a settlement. Otherwise you may be dragged before the judge, and the judge hand you over to the officer, and the officer throw you into prison.
59 Ngunsalila isyene kuti ngantyoka mwelemo mpaka pachimmalisye kulipa mbiya ja mbesi.”
I tell you, you won't get out until you've paid the last penny.”
